@Alcadios

Just a heads up. You can follow this thread as your guide in order to fix the image that is uploaded in imgur to be able for it to appear when someone is quoting your post reply since you are just a newbie.

[1] Guideline on posting images (with size adjustments), hyperlinks

Also make sure that the image file size that is uploaded is less than or equal to 2.5 MB in order to avoid having "bitcointalk.org image proxy" error.

OK, I increased it to 2.5.
2422  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pagpasok ng Tao Sa Crypto on: December 18, 2020, 03:38:37 AM
Based on my experience though, halos lahat naman ata tayo nagkaroon ng experience sa mga tao na nagtatanong regarding on how to start earning bitcoin, paano magsisimula and yada yada....And yes, sa tingin ko maraming nagkakaroon ng interes na pumasok sa crypto industry kasi nakaramdam sila ng regret na dapat sana inumpisahan na nila kahit papaano yung pag-aaral ng crypto before bitcoin's price goes up tulad ngayon.

My point is, siguro if ever na may taong nag private message regarding bitcoin eh at least bigyan ninyo ng idea on how to start properly. Pwedeng bigyan ng compilation of resources na pwedeng makita sa internet like yung article nina Jameson Lopp or Andreas Antonopolous para at least malaman nila kung ano yung industry na pinapasok nila. As such, maiiwasan din nila yung mga bogus na nagkalat sa internet. Help those people who are wanting to get in touch with bitcoin by advising or educating them properly kasi win-win situation din naman yan if we want to increase cryptocurrency adoption.

2424  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for a few people. You have nothing to loose. on: December 17, 2020, 02:05:42 AM
You will know more about where we are going if you can respond correct to the first 8 questions.

Note that this is not any bullshit recruting for a company or i wont ask you to invest money. You can be anonymous in whole progress, all that matters is knowledge.

And if we ever inquire on this hilarious offer, do we even assure what set of topics are to be covered in those questions? Well, most of us were knowledgeable with crypto, yet there are still certain fields that requires an advance knowledge such as technical explanations on how crypto market works. And of course, with such knowledge comes also with time and effort, and some money, made to be learned. Even the knowledge/info itself costs more in this era. And what if your 8 questions do regards with your crypto research and you've just asked us to be a respondent?

All of my point is simple, we would lose time trying to take an effort with an offer we already refused to take. Stop evading the questions and rather be kind and elaborate your 'idea' and never stick to your ego of being so pointless. There's no win-win situation nor a lose-lose after all.
2425  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who are the 1% of traders who earn with trading? on: December 16, 2020, 02:56:19 PM
There has been many research papers, and the statistics are mostly pretty sad:
~
Who are in your opinion these ∼1% of traders? Why they are able to remain profitable? Are you sure you are one of them, if you include taxes, fees, etc.? Wink

Would you cite those research papers you've been referring to? Many statistics, especially in trading, often relies only on a small percentage of respondents and never reached a the vast number of whole day traders. Yes, it is accurate that it is only almost 2% whom earns in trading, even I myself still struggles with it despite of being knowledgeable enough in that field. Trading, in overall aspect, is profitable. It really just an intense gambling of risks whether or not you take a point in either buying or selling. And of course, some intermediate knowledge with reading charts as well and searching for news would be a huge aid, yet the most important would be one trader's risk appetite.

Just a little note, there are DAY traders and LONG-TERM traders, whilst there are also STOCK trading, FIAT trading, and CRYPTO trading. Your 'researches' might be accurate on one side, and could be the opposite on the other.
2426  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: KINETIC SOLAR BITCOIN FARM on: December 16, 2020, 03:13:39 AM
Looking for investors/miners to join us on a 99% green bitcoin mining barge,
miners profits are getting eaten by energy companies , and its time for a solution

any ideas please add below

You can get more investors in real life than in this anonymous forum. We've already had enough of such offers that 'you can earn here just invest' type of schemes and I guess you better asked only here for ideas and never look for investors.

As for my suggestion with regards to Solar Powered Mining Farm, you should calculate first the costs of the solar equipment to be added in the costs of the rigs and GPUs you would buy. Installing such type of equipment almost doubles your costs in buying the rigs, as the bigger the rigs, the more power it requires. Therefore, each and every rig must have an efficient power source, and with efficiency comes a greater cost.

Why also not try a hydro-electric powered system? You might find a huge difficulty finding a huge lake and registering your business in your locality, yet it would be a worth-a-shot solution.
2427  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Merch Design Contest | $1500 + Set of Merch up for grabs! 3 Winners on: December 12, 2020, 03:40:28 PM
No way that shoe merch designs are accepted?

T-shirts/Hoodies/Caps Smiley

Just a little question, Hhampuz. Since the main post states that "You can submit up to two of each clothing category", does it mean we can have 2 designs for tshirt, 2 designs for Hoodies, and 2 designs for caps? So it would be in a total of 6 designs possible? Also, What if a user submits only 1 t-shirt design, could he be one of the winners? I mean there's only three winners and there is also three categories, would it be one winner per category or one winner per design in any categories? Just summing up this questions, would soon submit in here as well.
2428  Economy / Services / Re: CONTEST: design loyce.club home page on: December 11, 2020, 05:09:30 PM
Just a little suggestions with bitmover's search tool[1], it is a good practice to limit the possible entries of the user's input. In example, I can search for negative numbers and it will return nothing of course. But it is a good practice in UX to maintain inputs with less unnecessary options. To restrict the negative input in the form control, you can just simply add its minimum value.

Code:
<input type="number" min="0">

This would then limit the possible input from the user, restricting the unnecessary negative numbers. It can also be used to have the lowest possible result, like: 12 is the lowest UID, 6 is the lowest number TopicID, while 28 still remains the lowest value possible and undeleted post for mssgID (since using less than 28 would just redirects the user to the overall summary). Code to be edited are as follows:

Code:
//MESSAGEID INPUT
<input type="number" class="form-control" min="28" id="msgID" placeholder="Example: 51902990">

//TOPICID INPUT
<input type="number" class="form-control" min="6" id="topicID" placeholder="Example: 5210425 ">

//USERID INPUT
<input type="number" class="form-control" min="12" id="userID" placeholder="Example: 1554927">

2429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy and anonymity has no worth - ZEC - ZEN - DASH the crypto is dead now! on: December 11, 2020, 03:25:43 PM

Your statement is extremely fault. What is this? "Every crypto hits its ath". You have to be clear and differentiate between
  • Reach past ATH
  • Make a new ATH
These 2 situations are very different. With the bull run recently, Bitcoin moves to its all time high range. Some said it moved closely to its past all time high in 2017. Some said it made a new all time high. Honestly, the highest price of bitcoin is in 2017 on BitMEX ($20093)and even the King, bitcoin has not yet made its new record ATH.

Judging by his statements, it seems that the OP is frustrated on the aforementioned crypto, claiming to a false belief that those were dead coins. I don't know if he really know the real meaning of ATH and its impact to a crypto's price. All he know is that once a crypto gets a difficult time reaching its past ATH, its already dead.

@OP, keep in mind that XRP is also haven't reached even the 25% of its ATH, so we could justify it as a dead coin? It also has a privacy on transactions as its feature. Yet, with its recent bull run, many had been gaining their wealth and still investing in XRP, STILL having the fact that it never reached 25% to 50% of its ATH for almost 3 years. So, should we lose hope and justify it as a dead coin? LOL
2430  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ?Making a my profile(Identity) public to use for crypto related jobs? on: December 11, 2020, 10:44:13 AM
Do you think it's okay to create a profile not showing my real Identity just a name? and just my few works will the client trust me? A website with only my name and a few works/ skills that I am good at.

Do I need to show my face and real name when it comes to offering services? (not just doing those campaigns).

Follow up question to the people Who did jobs like coding (many more not just coding)

for working with the client's projects did you show your real Identity? or is it okay that not to show? and any suggestions for a newbie who will offer more services Smiley.

If you are planning to get an online job with the field that you are good at (coding), better be sure to separate yourself from being here in an anonymous forum and in the real world -- simply by separating your works that is personally made and works that are published in this forum. You can still be trusted here by simply doing good deeds to others by staying private as long as you could meet the client's standards and do your tasks accordingly. Also, it is real that many would have doubts hiring an anonymous developer, but it is better than risking your full identity here, in which many could make use for either thefts or find a way to hack you and do hideous things just because of knowing you.

Keep your privacy intact. You are a developer, a huge prone to possible identity theft. There's still a better feeling of being anonymous than being a famous.
2431  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Heritage/Insurance Encapsuled Encryption System on: December 09, 2020, 06:23:20 PM
One thing that bothers everyone that has cryptoassets is on how to leave them once we die or if some accident happens that leaves us unable to respond. This can be handy too if we suffer from memory loss.
So I came up with this idea, a set of questions posed to several people, where each answer is the key to another AES encrypted layer.
~

Download link: https://www.asw.pt/EES.zip

Wait upon only by reading, I'm a little confused on what problem does that program really solves? I mean yeah it has multi layered encryption which each and every answer are the key to the other, but on what case we must use this instead of just using native encryptions and store such data in either a hardware wallet or simply in a piece of paper hidden in a vault? Also, there are programs that can run and encrypt everything on your device once a certain condition doesn't met its scheduled response, try looking for Dead Man's Switch scripts. Such programs are helpful once there would be incident but you'd still wanted to have an assurance that no one could see either your assets or just your personal files. Hence, what would make us download and try this one?
2432  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Forum BBCode to HTML script development on: December 09, 2020, 02:31:48 PM
Have you tried using TryNinja's API? If you would read its documentation[1], you can see that it already parses/scrapes all of the Bitcointalk's posts and necessary data and turn contents into an HTML format. The documentation also shows how to use the API with python scripts. And if you would make a program or an application that shows the parsed content into an embeddable HTML, you could just use iteration to access on the Key named 'content' on the JSON format from the API's Response.

Good lord, TryNinja deserves money for this. it translated everything in my test post perfectly.

I'll see if I can get permission to reuse his source code that translates bbcode like that for my own (commercial) use as I will be putting some good posts on my new domain and running ads on the side. So it's not exactly for personal use.

Well if you would make another Python or JS program that parses and scrapes a certain data from this forum, then you might want to try using cheerios (JS) or BeautifulSoup and make a certain get request that scrapes posts by id then turn it into HTML embeddable tag. But honestly, the API works better with less work to do, as well as it is free to use, both commercially or personal (API has no token nor Request Limiter)

Meanwhile, in python, there is a library called bbcode 1.1.0. I suggest you create a function that accepts an bbcode formatted string and use the library and its functions to process the accepted string and return it in a variable that you can later use to either show the embeddable HTML or just the html code. In javascript, I guess it would be harder as you would map all of the parsed text and use RegEx to replace certain tags.

I don't know if I'm fully right, but I hope my knowledge were helpful.

Not all marketing strategies counts this forum to be part of it. Some preferred operating with less issues and audience as they've had enough clients and dares not to grow further. It is also worth mentioning that there are also factors to be considered in making an announcement and marketing strat here in forum, factors such as the capability of the servers to handle huge workloads and requests, the payment to have more engaging audiences, and the issues they might have once there are users in here whom trolled and threw an accusation to their system. Honestly, this forum can be a huge help to them, yet can also be a huge marketing mistake. Either of the two possible outcome, it is still better to focus on your own research.
2434  Other / Meta / Re: Can a member post in multiple local board? on: December 08, 2020, 04:08:32 PM
Although I am not an expert, it's pretty sure that users using Google translate which is against forum rules. On the other hand, the user promoting his apps via posting on several local boards. I am not considering this as a announce thread translation. But, I can say, if a user expert in multiple languages then he should allow posting on any section. I don't see any forum rules about it and nothing wrong in my opinion. Most probably you can report to moderators in such a case, you may write on comment section that user advertising his website.

They are. I've looked up on the link and it was almost the same as the other language, and was clearly translated by Google with no grammar issues (as some languages often tend to be far different on context based translation). Five languages still counts to be an ability by many Polyglots, but it is a rare case here in the forum yet one of sensitive topics, as we all are anonymous and doesn't really know the real intellect of each other. But the accused user seems to be using translators because of the build of those languages were quite similar to each other.

This is against the rule

27. Using automated translation tools to post translated content in Local boards is not allowed.
There is no way someone understands Bengali, Korean, Mandarin and Ukrainian. Many people knows multiple languages and they are usually from the same lineage of languages. But Bengali, Korean and Ukrainian belong to different lineage altogether.

Apparently, you can be knowledgeable of different families of language. One is called an Unfocused Polyglot, which simply means knowing languages from various unconnected countries.
2435  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Forum BBCode to HTML script development on: December 08, 2020, 02:16:06 PM
I am trying to make a Python script that can convert any bitcointalk post into the equivalent in HTML. This will allow you to naturally embed them in web pages for example. To do this I have to write a BBCode parser that outputs an HTML tag for each BBCode tag, and also handle all tags specific to Bitcointalk. Since this is tantamount to writing a state machine for an entire language, a daunting task, I have decided to look for some existing program to base my work on rather than write it from scratch. A fully-working program suitable for BTT does not exist as far as I know.

https://github.com/chaomodus/ppcode This is someone's bare bones implementation of a bbcode state machine, it needs a lot of work like handling url= and img= tags and recognizing "quote", it needs to be made case insensitive and it needs to handle all the other smileys, not just the smile face. But I think it will be worth it in the long run if I manage to build this. I forked it at https://github.com/ZenulAbidin/ppcode if you want to track its progress.

Have you tried using TryNinja's API? If you would read its documentation[1], you can see that it already parses/scrapes all of the Bitcointalk's posts and necessary data and turn contents into an HTML format. 2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japan becomes more friendly towards Gambling on: December 07, 2020, 05:03:13 PM
It's more of a trick to attract foreign travelers into the gambling industry within Japan.

That's actually quite the thing here. Japan became more friendly not towards Gambling, but towards Foreign Gamblers. But as we all know, Japan's culture doesn't fully limits nor prohibits gambling, as even many gambling games originates from the country such as Sugo-roku, Pachinko, and Takarakuji lottery. Also, pointing the fact that their government do also taking actions on slowly revising their Criminal Codes that prohibits certain games such as Mahjong and gambling companies always complies with levels of certifications to run a gambling house, Japan's gambling market is still one of the Japan's tourists attractions.

But honestly, their movement in taxing citizens than tourists is just a pro-tourist movement. Why? Because they all know that their people gets addicted in gambling, so they'd rather implement a controlling law to them than to be fair on every gamblers -- both foreign and local, that plays within Japan. Therefore, I don't think of this as a good idea in their local gambling. You, would you like to be taxed just because of playing games? Well I personally not. Cheesy
2437  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✔️ CryptoFairly.com - Fair Impartial Crypto Casino Rankings NO AFFILATE LINKS! on: December 06, 2020, 07:40:41 AM
I noticed this for Roobet:

Quote
Gameplay in USD only

To the best of my knowledge you're actually playing with BTC. The USD figures are only there for your reference, not because your balance actually gets converted to USD whenever you deposit a sum of money. That's an important distinction to make.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily a con. It's simply a display feature without much repercussion.
I think this is inaccurate. What the website saying is actually true. I've received some bitcoin on my Roobet account before and I've also witnessed that when the bitcoin is rallying, the USD price that is displayed on the website isn't changing. If I am playing using bitcoin then the value of USD that is displayed on their site should be constantly changing based on bitcoin's current exchange price.

I've remembered that @Eureka_07 gives me the clarity about same issue.

Greetings! Just want to ask a question!

Why does the value of bitcoin in USD is stagnant even though the price of BTC in the market is skyrocketing? Just noticed it when I was using the platform. Replies would be appreciated. Thank you.  Wink
Because as soon as your Bitcoin deposit reached your Roobet's balance, it will logically be converted to USD, it's not the same with other casinos who uses Bitcoin as balance unit (e.g. 0.089..btc).
If you will be withdrawing your balance, it will be then converted back to bitcoin, the value depends on the price of bitcoin the time you processed your withdrawal.

Let's say you deposited 0.5btc when bitcoin's value was $7,000, your accounts' balance will stay at 7k until you finally withdrawn it.
Let's say bitcoin's value went up to $14,000 and you still have that $7,000...
Decided to withdraw it, then you'll be withdrawing only 0.25btc, since bitcoin's price went double, and 0.25btc that time will be equivalent to $7,000.
2438  Economy / Gambling / Re: fortunejack sms-code on: December 06, 2020, 07:25:50 AM
Did you make sure that your SIM card is still not expired?

Based on my experience, there is an instance that if you do not received SMS codes or any other OTP password that is sent to your mobile prepaid SIM then its likely that your network provider deactivates your SIM card due to inactivity. Perhaps, this is the reason why you are unable to receive automated messages? After checking if you have any issues with your sim card carrier, try reaching out to the links that is provided before my reply. The link provided belowe is their official website if in case that you need to double check it.

It would be best if you could come up with an original design for your own designing services but if you prefer to base it on someone else's design, you have to ask for their permission first.
I don't mean using anyone graphics, but just how they made their announceement topic used for inspiration only.
As far as I am concerned, you can always create your own announcement thread and use other people's format only as an inspiration. However, take note that you must add your own flavors into your designs to fit what service you are trying to offer in the community. Just do not copy other people's design and use it only as a reference to create your own.

Thanks.
I just need the idea how to structure my page here, not using anything from other people.
Exactly my point. I've created a commissioned drawing announcement before in this community and I used other people's design as a reference to at least have an idea of what flow of information I am going to include in my announcement thread. More importantly, if you are going to create a set of images or GIFS as an announcement, you need to take note of the dimensions of your images to fit the forum's width and height. Otherwise, it would be too small or distorted when the announcement thread has been published.

Lastly, you need to be at least a Jr.Member rank to be able to post images or just buy a copper membership.
