2421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Past Performance is no guarantee of Future Profits! on: November 10, 2022, 08:44:01 AM
1st Rule of Investing
Past Performance is no guarantee of Future Profits!

Where as in the Past, the Baby Boomers have been providing Massive Venture Capital to any moron with an idea.
Baby Boomers are now converting to safer investments ie: US $, as they retire.

The giant sucking noise in the Markets, is those retiring Baby Boomers leaving (since late 2021.)
All that free venture capital that was propping up all of the Proof of Waste mining operations,
is disappearing faster than a magic act.

So the real question, is how many of you are going to be alive in 2040 when Venture Capital Investment is again at maximum levels.
Not to mention the Proof of Waste Ban warnings from US & Canada & Europe much much sooner.  Tongue

Good point of view. How much can people deprive themselves of by expecting a high price of bitcoin? I always want to ask such people: “How many years of life have you measured out for yourself?” It is necessary to live life in youth, when you want everything at once, and to get rich in old age when there are no former strengths and desires, I do not see much joy in this.
Bitcoin is rising; if you see profit, withdraw; don't be a fan. Of course, a pillow in old age will not hurt, but who knows if someone will have old age and whether it is worth limiting life now?
2422  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Laplas, new clipboard malware on: November 10, 2022, 08:11:12 AM
The originality of this clipper is really amazing. Users need to be very careful, as the wallet address that Laplas creates is very similar to the address of the victim himself. Therefore, it is not enough to check the first and last few characters of your wallet address, as there is a danger of similarity. I have read that it is possible that the hackers pre-generated several hundred addresses so that the clipper can best mask the wallet input.
And again, of course, because this "gift" works on Windows systems, I wholeheartedly support the call of those who advise stopping trusting this leaky system and switching to Linux systems.
2423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about forum discussion on: November 10, 2022, 07:52:26 AM
Don't be embarrassed, OP; you're not the first nor the last to get embarrassed before a user is told that a question is not new to the forum. We can't manage newcomers and regularly send them to read the same threads that have already been created thousands of times. Over time, everyone learns to use the forum, and the questions stop. And the fact that old users are forced to answer the same questions, in a way, becomes ridiculous. Someday, all answers from one user will be considered plagiarism in some sense. Grin
2424  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask bargain for prices never pay full specially now on: November 09, 2022, 07:33:58 AM
I like your OP's suggestion, but it looks like a utopia. Based on your philosophy, when inflation rises, we have the right to bargain. At the same time, why are food prices rising? If there is no need to raise the prices of goods, why do they rise? I don't see the logic. In my country, prices can only go up. For whatever reason, they will always find an explanation for why goods have risen in price. If I go in and start haggling, explaining that I now have the right to do so, I will look like a crazy person to others.
2425  Economy / Economics / Re: Consumers to Spend More on Black Friday Despite Economic Downturn on: November 09, 2022, 07:19:30 AM
I think that many are just waiting for Black Friday to save on their purchases. Psychological reassurance that the product was bought at a cheaper price gives positive emotions and awareness of the correctness of one's actions. Although, of course, everything that you did not buy at the time of urgent need will remain an unnecessary purchase, even at a cheap price. They get used to good things very quickly, and it is almost impossible to wean them off. People do not want to think about bad things, and complete savings on everything can have a very detrimental effect on their physical well-being. Someone calms himself down with bitcoin deposits, and someone makes purchases of goods on Black Friday.
2426  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie how can i invest in Bitcoin on: November 09, 2022, 06:54:42 AM
Bitcointalk is a community forum — you don't really do any "investing" in this platform (Bitcointalk is technically not an exchange, though you can buy/sell crypto here), unless you're planning on starting some online business and sell stuff here.
Exactly, but the OP could invest some time here learning about how bitcoin investing is a better option than invest fiat in a bank account.

Some users may misunderstand what a community forum like bitcointalk does, it could be because of wrong information or indeed something else. I believe the OP will learn, but now it seems he knows that forums are not investment platforms.

I am more than sure that the OP came to the forum on the advice of friends or acquaintances who also have the hope of getting rich quickly. I always pay attention to the posts of a person who is going to invest in bitcoins with great enthusiasm, but after reading the posts, one can easily draw conclusions about the real reason for the person's appearance on the forum.
Posting topics on very distant topics from Bitcoin and an instant desire to invest in it suggests that the desire will remain a desire, since the user has not yet developed a real interest in the topic on which he created the post.
2427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Notification Pop for Wallet domain name on your trustwallet is a Scam on: November 09, 2022, 06:31:48 AM
I don't think this ad was able to steal money from your friend, OP. Such advertising can now be found on devices in Android phones. The offer to get a free domain from Trust Wallet and Unstoppable Domains is puzzling to many users, but the news that this could cause theft of funds is only for you.
Advise your friend to reset the settings to the factory defaults and not download pirated software to the phone, which was most likely already installed on his device.
2428  Other / Meta / Re: Could This Help To Reduce Spam? on: November 09, 2022, 05:59:19 AM
I am generally surprised at the ability of spammers to repeat the same post in their own words. I tried to check their posts for plagiarism, and surprisingly, the posts show uniqueness, but the idea and meaning of everything said are repeated in many posts.
Perhaps it was worthwhile to establish a rule that any post whose meaning is no longer new should be deleted. If we complain about positions that are similar in essence and the moderators delete them, it will probably create a task for spammers to think about what they write.
2429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Bitcoin Holdings for your child from infant. on: November 08, 2022, 11:01:57 AM
Your idea is not new. I have already met people with similar ideas on the forum, and even people who follow your idea. During my youth, my parents put some money in the bank as regularly as they could. After some time, a good amount has accumulated. Now that it is possible to keep savings in bitcoins, those who are familiar with the subject understand that investments should be made for a fairly decent period of time. And at the same time, fears that in the time it takes for children to grow up, a lot can change should be taken as a fact that surprises can happen at any time. The aphorism "Nothing is more permanent than temporary" will always be relevant.
2430  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you consider appearance in business and employment? on: November 08, 2022, 05:59:50 AM
The first impression of a person is formed in the first 15–20 seconds. How a person is dressed is one of the three impressions. It is also important to form an opinion after hearing a person, how he speaks correctly, and what he says. But these signs are psychological. Fraudsters have long known all the tricks of how to gain people's trust and create a good impression of themselves.
As far as a person's clothing goes, I don't think if you're going to get a job as a car mechanic, you need to be dressed in a jacket and tie. The main point should be accuracy and the ability to teach yourself as a confident specialist. Those who hire staff for themselves very often create provocative moments, the correct exit of which will be a decisive factor for the applicant.
2431  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: November 08, 2022, 05:45:03 AM
Saying and doing, as well as wanting and having, are two different things. By your own example, OP, do you have your own business? If there is, we would be interested in how you decided to create it and how long you can manage it. I say this because everyone understands perfectly well that it is better to work for yourself and not for someone else's uncle. But only a few are able to step out of their comfort zone and take the risk of starting their own business. Exactly the same applies to investments. People want stability, but stability is a very short-lived thing since we all depend on a society that responds well to the ups and downs of the market. Running your own business requires the right preparation and ingenuity, and I'm not even afraid to say that luck is required.
In the absence of such qualities, one can very quickly descend from heaven to earth, and the initiative to work for oneself remains only in words.
2432  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are different way to earn money through Bitcoin on: November 08, 2022, 04:32:20 AM
Many GPT (GetPaidTo) sites now pay you in crypto for completing offers, watching vids and more

Marvelous. Do these sites still exist? I remember that I was fond of this type of earning back in 2007. And yes, since bitcoin appeared, these sites have very quickly switched to paying for tasks in bitcoins. But now, I can't believe it's possible to get bitcoins on job sites, because even at that time, each new registration was tied to the registrant's IP address, which completely stopped multi-accounting.
2433  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty managers and newbie bounty hunters on: November 07, 2022, 02:23:25 PM
But in addition, no one will forbid beginners to create and subsequently participate in subscription companies.
Sometimes, I feel for these beginners because I know an appreciable number of them enrol in bounties so they can make some money to put food on the table. Sadly, most projects exploit their navity and deny them what is rightly due to them at the end of bounties. They often don't get paid. These scumbag managers know newbies are likely not going to open threads to drag their reputations or have the ability to get DTs to tag those fraudulent projects and their managers. They exploit them to no end. I hate to see this and have ceased visiting bounty threads for a long time now. The altcoin section, honestly, needs to be sanitizer.

How interesting. I think you know the whole purpose of bounty companies, don't you? Bounty hunters must advertise the project to attract new investors. Do all hunters care what and when to advertise? If they attract people with their diligence who later invest their money in a scam and then turn out to be deceived, how many of them will be very upset? You know, I don't think there's even one. The only thing your poor bounty hunters care about is getting their shitcoins, no matter how or in what way they are mined. I do not deny that someone is really honest, but mostly cheaters "work." Why should we pity them? They deceive some and then get the opposite.

No one is forcing them to advertise scams at gunpoint. So stop being very compassionate. If a thief has nothing to eat, this does not justify his theft.
2434  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are they set a broker in my pc and stealing my data ? on: November 07, 2022, 11:44:07 AM

Thanks for the idea Cheesy. Can you kindly give me more info about  Linux OS?
And I don't think that disk was licensed because that disk I bought it only for 0.40$ in 2018. I usually update my os after setup.

I think you can find out how many and which Linux distributions exist on Wikipedia. There are so many user-friendly systems for the average user that will work right out of the box. Look for examples like MX Linux or Mint. It is difficult to describe all the advantages of such systems in one post, but the first thing you can try is to see how they work by first installing one of them on a virtual machine, such as VirtualBox. On it, it was possible to practice the installation of Linux.

As for your Windows system, bought for 40 cents, it's hard to say whether it is licensed, even allowing for updates.
2435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: As a newbie I think decentralise poses more threat to investors, correct me if w on: November 07, 2022, 09:41:38 AM
If its centralised there will always be someone to take the blame but that's not the case with decentralised projects

They may take the blame (or not), but you still won't get your money back.

OP is one of the examples of what the government achieves by zombifying and turning people into an obedient herd. Whatever happens, the government wants to completely control the people, giving them false promises of stability and, at the same time, fearing that if they do not obey, they will face constant deception and punishment. It is no wonder that people who receive information from social networks saturated with agitation and advertising stop developing and forget about the word "freedom," since it is convenient for them not to take any responsibility but to be, as it seems to them, obedient citizens, for whom the state always and everywhere decides.
From here, we see frequent conclusions like "I have nothing to hide."
2436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fear not, and be bold to move on. on: November 07, 2022, 09:13:24 AM
I wonder what and who can spread scary rumors about the community. Whom do you urge not to listen to?
The first paragraph is complete crap, I didn’t read further ... What does the forum have to do with it, and what does investing in cryptocurrencies have to do with it? Do you encourage investment in altcoins?
And the most important question is, why should all beginners trust you?
2437  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are they set a broker in my pc and stealing my data ? on: November 07, 2022, 09:01:47 AM
Oh, how I understand and know you. There is a lot of information circulating that both Windows 10 and subsequent versions, as well as previous versions, are full of holes. I was just as paranoid, and every new process in the system made me anxious. I still stand by my opinion. Don't be complacent that you can trust Microsoft. Any .exe process can be called a Windows process, although it could easily be a scanning virus.
OP, first, take the time to learn about Linux systems. In addition to being very light on resources, they are more secure. Split your physical drive in two, leave Windows for fun, and trust Linux systems for everything serious.
And yes, the question is, are you using a licensed disk?
2438  Other / Meta / Re: Do we care why people were banned? on: November 07, 2022, 08:13:32 AM
That's right, the forum is not Mom. The forum cannot protect people who do not know the rules of Internet security. In the end, that inquisitive person who decides to follow the links every time without hesitation will definitely fall into a new trap, outside the forum. It's just that some people tend to profit from their mistakes and gain experience. Don't take that ability away from them.
On top of that, when it comes to further edit a post and re-uploading a phishing link, I'm always amazed at the speed with which Lafu detects this.
There are no age restrictions on the forum, but if you really worry about every mistake made by an inattentive user, then in addition to warnings, you need to mark signal 5+.
2439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not believe every crypto news you read online on: November 05, 2022, 03:05:25 PM

This is not something new. Not believing everything online doesn't only goes to cryptocurrency but about everything in life.
Every new altcoins advertisement are full with stereotypes. My only advice to  new investors is to stick with Bitcoin first before even going to do research on there own. Because I think even before you DYOR you need some basic cryptocurrency knowledge first. Projects at presale level are hard to research on as a newbie. New investors or rather greedy investors fall easily to some of the scam or shit ones because of the huge profit they are promised. So advice to myself and new investors is to stay away from them and get more cryptocurrency knowledge first

You read my mind. The Internet is a big garbage dump, and to trust every piece of news that comes in means becoming like an uneducated eccentric, ready to believe every barking dog. In our time, any news must be double-checked several times, and still, if there is doubt, allow yourself to doubt. Even large public sites sometimes write such unverified heresy that you involuntarily begin to think that the world is ruled by sheer lies and money.
To paraphrase an old proverb, one can say, "Check a hundred times, and then believe."
2440  Economy / Reputation / Re: JollyGood and his devaluing attitude on: November 05, 2022, 02:41:30 PM
I would call this topic a clarification of the personal claims of one person to another. If one says that the other person is doing something wrong, one can go further and see what many people in DT are doing, which is the same thing they think is "wrong." It's just that no one pitted these people against each other, and therefore there are no new dramas. (not yet)
But if the system needs to be radically changed, let's tell everyone when and what they are doing wrong.
All adults are here, and it is challenging to judge who and when wore diapers. I think you will hear a lot of feedback about whom these teachers are and why they began to use the word "should." Why do they allow themselves to communicate in a not-quite-decent tone? And also appoint a new position as a lawyer.
The best thing that has been invented is the tilde sign. Does everyone know how to use it?
