2421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New ID requirements for Gamblers in Australia on: September 30, 2023, 11:27:48 PM
A new ID requirement is a good idea I think, it will reduce under-age gamblers for sure. It will also ensure that those who hid their gambling activities from their family will now stop gambling or accept that they are gamblers. What I think will happen now with this new law is that onsite illegal gambling dens will flourish, and it will now help non-KYC crypto casinos gain more users. The use of VPN & TOR will increase for hiding their identity. The final result would be very bad for Australia and ultimately they would rethink these new laws. In the past there have been many instances when a country tried to shadow-ban gambling, the end result was that they had come up with new ideas.
You made a great point there because through the ID the age of the gambler will be revealed and if underage he will be denied access to register an account,  I believe this is one of the reasons why some of the licensed casinos are mandated to request for ID for their KYC verification m,  and this should be coming from the government a d in the fight against underage gambling.

I don't want to dive into the discussion on the decentralized casinos that allows for all access without kyc, but have hard their own challenges also.,  so it is better to have a verified account don a reputable casino then trying to hide under the wrong IP to play.
2422  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 30, 2023, 11:22:03 PM
How can someone take a Gambling habbit secret? One can only make it private when you aren't addicted to the stuff, then you still have your sanity and you can still gamble responsibly knowing your limit, and the extent to which you can go in the gambling habbit, but when you are addicted to it,there is nothing one can do about it, because you can't even keep it secrete,There is no way you can be loosing money then you expect to be very silent over it to the extent the next person around you will not know anything thats happening to you.Well, some persons are more organised, but majority of people Will relate it to other persons to ease pains than keeping it within themselves.
Just like smoke,  no one can hide gambling addictions,  is not possible and just as you have rightly said,  so that is why is very important to place some level of limitations to our gambling habits that may force into possible addictions,  this is because, sometime when we think we are in control of our involvement we failed to realize that are already going too deeply in the game.

More so we have seen quite a lot of those who set limits that will guide their gambling activities who later on become addicts, so the bottom line is that when you discover that you are no longer in control,  and have been on continue losing stride then the best thing to do is to quite totally.
2423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: September 30, 2023, 11:16:47 PM
Women are more disciplined to play than men who play gambling, just from my observation of what I watch in movies and even in the reality that is happening in our lives today. But now, from what I see, it seems like more and more women are promoting casino apps on social media platforms.

Especially on Facebook, you can see a lot of female influencers encouraging their followers to gamble. It's like pretending that you won't lose when gambling because it's all about money.
The fact that women are more calculative then men and less risk taker then men make female the best gamblers that can avoid addictions in the long run,  be for now,  women have no interest in gambling,  but in recent time the societal perspective on gambling have changed and at that gender is no longer what is considered when gambling but age since most casino only placed age lime of 18+ before gambling m.

So regardless of the number of female social media influences,  the question is are they really active gamblers?
2424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: September 30, 2023, 10:58:13 PM
Halving events have frequently been associated with increase in the price of bitcoin with significant upward momentum both before and after halving. Bitcoin halving often generates increased market attention and hype. Expectations of lower supply and likely price increases may fuel positive feelings amongst investors and traders.
Let me make a simple illustration for you may be it could help your understanding better.

What bitcoin halving does is to divide bitcoin block reward by half and starched the half away for the public ledger,  so if that is done that means limited bitcoin in circulation and that means scarcity which will trigger an increase in value which is the price and that results into market demand that is called a bull run.

So if you ask me I will say yes Bitcoin halving cycle always give birth to price increase and other value interest for Bitcoin.
2425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 30, 2023, 10:43:57 PM
Liverpool played quite well but indeed the 2 red cards received and an own goal ruined their 1 point in the final minute of extra time.
Losing players made them unable to do much because they only defended and hoped the match ended with 1 point but indeed it was obviously a little difficult when 11 against 9 players it was definitely difficult to anticipate. Despite the loss I like the way they played but going forward this should be a lesson that the slightest mistake in a match can have a fatal impact as happened for the 2 red cards of Jota and Curtis Jones.

It seems that many of us were indeed surprised by some of the results and lost bets in Week 7 as the favorites received poor results but it is interesting that positions 1 to 6 now only have a 3-point gap.
I think Liverpool really had bad luck this week. Because two red cards and an own goal became their first defeat this season. Wolves, who played full of ambition, were able to secure 3 points in this match and were able to overwhelm Liverpool with their style of play. An own goal enabled Wolves to secure 3 points which enabled them to improve their performance in the standings table.

Before the match started, I was quite confident that Liverpool could win in this week's match. But two red cards made them lose their balance quite heavily in this match. Kloop was of course quite disappointed with this result, especially since the own goal occurred in the final minutes of the match which meant that Liverpool had to give up 3 points for Wolves in this match. Manchester City also lost and Arsenal can secure 3 points this week.
I have read a lot of analysis since morning on this game and I have tried so much to hold myself from commenting since then, but now that the games is over and Liverpool have been beaten 2:1 by Tottenham in the weekend premier league games,  this have shown to a great extent how over confidence could be a bad attribute because it was the unsettleness of the players that pushed then to include two red card in the games that open their back line up for goals from the Tottenham team.

Although today ks a lucky day for Tottenham and a bad day for Liverpool because of their losses in tonights game.
2426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New ID requirements for Gamblers in Australia on: September 30, 2023, 10:35:16 PM
Although most casinos ask for KYC, yet minors still gamble on their elders ' IDs (Elder brother or father). I wonder by introducing this ID verification what special Australia is looking to achieve from it?

Obviously they are trying to achieve a better resolution to the most common gambling issues like what every country has. It does look like they are very alarmed by these issues that they have put an extra effort to impose another step to eliminate irresponsible gambling.
However, minor gamblers may be a little harder to eradicate especially online, because there are several ways to bypass it plus the other casinos might be a little loose with their KYC compliance and lastly, the underground online casinos.
I have come across a casino that demand ID verification before deposits,  and I had to submit my ID for verification before being able to play on the casino but then also again I agree that for the fact that rules are rule and casinos already stated it in their t&C make is right for them to demand for such verification requirement of an ID documents.

Although we have casinos like Stake and the rest of the other reputable popular casinos that require just minor level one verification on accounts, just know that when it comes to KYC,  every casino with they own unique rules.
2427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: September 30, 2023, 10:30:00 PM
This depends on the level of the account,  because for a new account ahi just keeps winning without and past history on the casino will definitely raise suspicion and the casino will definitely place some restrictions on the account,  and more also the fact that if the account has been constant and ranked to at least VIP level,  then the casino may overlook the constant winning and focused on other things like the total amount in wagering.

But come to think of it,  is it possible for someone to be on a continuous winning stride without engaging in some activities that are against the casino's rules?
2428  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much pressure on the male child on: September 30, 2023, 10:16:40 PM
Why you want to blame? Nobody force you to be responsible, nobody force you to pay taxes too, nobody force you must have two kids, you do it at your own discretion, and you even knowingly agree to it to the point you willing to be bond in a contract for many years.

There is a lot that government is responsible for these points you raised. It is the government that force someone to be responsible. Whether you are married or not, the government does not permit you to become a nuisance to the state and so you would find yourself behind bars if you don't conform to the societal norms, values and laws . If you evade tax is already a crime that you can be punished on.

There are roles that government should take in supporting the family system like giving out scholarships and other social responsibilities, it is important and that is why governance is a social contract.
Yes social contract between the citizens and the state,  but in as much as citizens have a great role to play in the up bringing of the child,  the government who is the larger society is also responsible for making provisions for the integration of the child into the society as a responsible citizen of the states.

The point of forcing a responsibility on the male child all in the name of just being the male without adequate provisions of support line is what we call abuse on the male child,  and that is the situation in most third world countries.
2429  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerian religious institution accepting crypto on: September 30, 2023, 10:11:00 PM
But wait I don't think using Bitcoin to pay offering in church will be a good financial decision for the one spending the Bitcoin due to first of all,  the fees to send Bitcoin to the church wallet address,  and then again I will have to use the scan code to get the wallet so pesting a copy of the scan to pay around the seats I the church could settle that,  but in all this a lot of information and enlightenment need to be done.

Because most of the bitcoin users around the church won't know how to scan or use the app,  so this will bring us back to using our naira to settle all those bills with zero fees.

Bitcoin is too precious to gamble around with all in the name of religion where there is cash to settle that,  and the pastors or imams should know better if they truly understood Bitcoin before implementing it into the church.
2430  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake Balance Glitch on: September 30, 2023, 10:02:32 PM
Have you tried refreshing your browser, clearing your cache, and logging out and logging back in again? Or have you left your game at automatic betting and somehow the balance was not displaying correctly, and you are losing all this time? Your description of what happened is just too incomplete to draw conclusions at. This is best directed to Stake's ANN thread to get it sorted. They take notice of these issues in a swift manner so you can try your luck there.
I think that isn't he vest possible thing to be responsible for this,  I have experienced some browser malfunctioning on stake a couple of time but I have not experienced such as ops reported,  although in similar manner.

So if the situation persists after refreshing the browser then ops could check his bets history and if he found any possible glitches he can then proceed to reach out to support to report the situation.
2431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navigating the World of Online Gambling on: September 30, 2023, 09:41:32 PM
All points mentioned by the op are all good and acceptable to me, except the one which talks about protecting ones privacy and all that..

Talked about legitimate casinos not asking for customer's private data upfront. Well; things are changing rapidly and am afraid that such is no longer the case with some reputable casinos, there are some really reputable casinos where a gambler won't be allowed to make a deposit if he or she does not verify his account by passing the kyc verification, and we all know what this means.., it means submitting your private information to the casino for verification, before you are given the opportunity to even try out the casino and see if you will like it or not.

But then, aside the above, I can say that every other points made by the op are really good and interesting points.
Yeah but even at such,  most of the casinos including stake doesn't requires kyc verification before depositing or withdrawing from the casino,  like in my case I don't think I did any secondary verifications,  aside for the email verification that I did for a reason of 2FA security.

But I know some other users whose identity will be demanded for verification at the point of account creation,  so this varies from person to person and IPs also contribute as to how frequently KYC could be triggered for your account.
2432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should i invest in this project or not on: September 30, 2023, 09:36:58 PM
I can only advice you if I have interest in this project and that since I already know the adverse risks associated with this project then I will want to let you know that you are risking your fund if you believe in whatever advice anyone will give you this is because in this kind of situation,  everyone one will want to suggest to you that their own way is the best and at that will want you to buy into their idea.

But still on still it is best you carry out your own independent research about the project to build a data that can propel your convictions and at some point grant you the access you need to make a decision.
A poor decision makes us lose and I'm afraid this will happen to OP. In fact, I'd see a reason or any valuable things in this project that encourage us to invest because a new project isn't a reliable investment nor we could think that it was the right decision especially if there is no use case. I doubt if OP has seen it and done research.
Well, we can say that is his money but of course, we don't let someone fall into the wrong investment when we have an option and a chance that it neve be going to happen.
Likewise too,  I don't see any potential in this project and as a matter of fact we have to start looking at this thread from other perspective outside what ops is trying to influence us into thinking,  because I am beginning to think that the ops is trying to while for this project indirectly.

If not,  he should have known how risky it is to seek for public opinion on altcoins projects where everyone already knows the level of risk that is associated with altcoin and how investors have taken coin investments.

2434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Education. on: September 30, 2023, 06:59:23 PM

In fact I have hardly seen government or her agencies running a jingle or ads on gambling to promote it and this is because it doesn't have any significant purpose or benefit to the health of the citizens unlike the sex education or warning on the adverse effects of smoking to the organs of the body. So the government won't have any such business to begin to admonished people to gamble, not to gamble or its effects.

It is the work of the parents to do that verbally and physically on their kids and most times parents that are not gamblers don't bring such discussion up in the family until they begin to see traces of such behaviour on their children especially the sons and then they can now seat them down to talk against such vices and usually they discourage them from it with all the negative advises and references of gamblers who are addicts and never achieved anything through their life time. But this is not the same with sex education, for sex education whether in school or not, the mother takes it as a duty to educate, advise and admonished the daughters and even the sons on what they will expect through their ages and the fathers too admonished likewise.
Well in as much as that is,  we have to do first of all take proper consultation before diving into any conclusion on this topic and that is because gambling and it liciesing still have something to do with the government and it agencies and at that we have to make proper reseachnas to know what the role of the government is to promoting a healthy gambling habits.

Just like what the government role is in smoking and production pf narcotic products,  and for that it is very important to conclude that the government have a role they play as longitthey drives taxes and revenue from gambling and also the government have the responsibility to protect the citizens from the dangers of this two things gambling/narcotic usage.
2435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you love and enjoy taking risk? on: September 30, 2023, 06:33:05 PM
Some months a go, I was thinking altcoins may favour me since bitcoin is still unpredictable. I decided to invest my last cash at hand on luno, Eth, buying babe doggy, peg token and tron. I don't really understand how this things works when I bought it was all gloomy without bitcoin but in less than a week my money dried up.

What future do we really hope for altcoins without bitcoin?
First what do you mean by Bitcoin is unpredictable,  don't you know that altcoin is more unpredictable than Bitcoin and in fact bitcoin is the best choice of investment among all other cryptocurrencies and for me, altcoin is only for the gambling and nothing more,  anyway the coin you trying to promote may give you 10x returns who knows.

But also know that you can lose all your investment in that coin if it turns out to be a scum shitcoin in the market tomorrow so yeah risk.l risk anyways is either you lose or you gain.

Ok good you already stated that it a balance glitch so for that to be resolved you may have to contact support to get you a clear statement and standing on your balance,  because from your explanation if you hard being playing for a while and your balance still maintained the $1389 you started,  and couldn't make a new bet that shows that something is really wrong and the only way to resolve that is through stake support.
2437  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: September 30, 2023, 12:27:38 PM

Casinos may ask gamblers for KYC verification for various suspicious activities. Now in this situation a gambler has nothing to do. Casinos create their T&C in such a way that they are in a position of maximum advantage in situations where gamblers cannot opt out because they are trapped in the T&C. But it is also true that there are many gamblers who use the casino to do illegal activities like money laundering, and then it would be considered a good step if a casino asks for KYC verification to catch users involved in those illegal activities.
Yes I agree with that also,  casinos demand kyc from gamblers for various reason and not limited to deposits and withdrawals alon that kyc is demanded,  in fact left for withdrawal or deposits,  the casino already have a standing law that guides and cover that aspect of the kyc,  since no casino will request for kyc on either deposits or withdrawal that is within the set trench holds.

$5000 is the most casino base amount on transactions before KYC is demanded and as long as it goes if the gambler operates within a set limit he will not have KYC demands.

So if you are in within the deposits and withdrawal trench hold and kyc is demanded it means there are suspicious activities from the account.
2438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: September 29, 2023, 11:19:46 PM
We should not avoid gambling but rather avoid having thoughts that this activity would give you wealth or an instant way to get rich ‘coz there’s no such thing. As we all know, once you’re caught up with idealization of winning that jackpot no matter what, that is when you would be having problems to quit. Best thing is to have discipline however, it won’t be simply implied to oneself. Gambling has indeed its own risks but the one who gives weight to that risk is no other than ourselves. We are too fascinated of instances wherein some players are winning big time without considering how many have lost huge amount of money from gambling.
Why shod anyone actually take such a risky adventure as a means to earn a living,  gambling that is as risky as hell should be avoid by all means and for such anyone that should ever play them should do so based on the fact fhat gambling is just for fun and to ease pressure in form of entertainment and shouldn't be done at regular basis this is because a lot of those that have hard issues from gambling all incurred such issues the moment they begin to build a castle in the hills.

Chasing an unrealistic aspect is not true gambling but rather tha  gambling abuse on yourself.
2439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 29, 2023, 11:11:28 PM

For me horse racing is not very popular because of modern high technology nowadays and also some country which is only few people have horses so they can't participate or they can't make and event such horse racing. But actually there are still countries who has the activity of horse racing but not too much popular. Maybe  some people didn't know that there's a horses racing or else they don't want to see it.
The unavailability of horses also have limited the popularity of horse racing,  when I saw this game last was when I was young that my local communities use to organise festivities and games and one of the most played games then was horse race and most times some of the horse owners will even avoid participating in the game due to the impact of the game on they animals and what the level of damage will be for them if they horses sustain injury in the causes of the games?

This and many more have contributes to unpopular nature of horse racing both in offline and online casinos,  because before an online casino will consider developing any game on their site,  they first of all check to see how gamblers patronise them in a physical casino first.
2440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much pressure on the male child on: September 29, 2023, 11:01:44 PM

Now the training in the home has shifted to both genders,  now you see a boy child doing so well in the kitchen while handling other tasks allocated to them by the parent, The same goes for the female child whose father gives her all the training needed to survive life pressure where she need to play the role of a man because we have some single mothers who are 100% responsible for the kids so the financial burden falls on the woman who is a girl child,  so society is changing and the world is beginning to view things in a different dimension.

Yeah quite alot have changed in societies and countries because the only thing that is permanent is change and because change is transient, the forces of change must act upon it and modernity as one of the agent has really changed the gender and even duties based on sex. These days women are bread winners and even feeding the men or supporting them to take care of the home front. We don't need to be stagnant and gnash our teach on the hardship from the government, we need to give equal opportunity to both the boy child and the girl child because roles have really been altered and a female can turn out to be a bread winner. In the past in Africa, you only see male that are professionals in career like engineering, medicine, law etc but today the female are even more in all those professional fields of life . So the only thing that is constant is change, we can change our lives to the angle we want it to be driven to if we believe and make an effort towards it.
Yes, so many people are beginning to have a different perspective on things and beginning to also start thinking out of the box,  this is most important if really we want to realise our individual part in prosperity and self-discovery,  because, in the past,  a lot of people believe is a line and pattern of thoughts,  believes and acts that have really not been fair on some set of the gender of species of human,  which some time degenerates into discrimination and pressure from the society.

But in the contemporary society,  people are beginning to know their rights and also giving their observations on matters that concern their well-being be it as a male child or a female child,  the parents also have a significant role also to play in the role allocation to the kids and at the same time teach them values instead of prejudice.
