I would have thought there'd have been more in the media about how much dirty coal money is taking flight from China this way, or how environmentally unsustainable the whole thing seems to be. I assume more or less equal parts corruption by the Chinese authorities and complicity by Western media.
Where is the media hype? I don't watch TV so I legitimately don't know and would appreciate examples.
I did saw a brief mention of it last Monday on the propaganda channel named "RT" in the economic news show called Boom Bust. But it was mentioned and talked about for a brief 30 seconds! And no mention of China in their short presentation. |

Bitstamp has some kind of auditable system for their coins.
I believe that Coinbase is the only fully regulated exchange, but they're not really an exchange. They only do about 8,000BTC of volume per day, have a 5% spread, steep commissions, low limits, and take days to deliver your bitcoins.
Well I do hope at least that the individual countries have their version of Consumer Protection that verifies them if they have some kind of authenticity in their product. I like to increase my portfolio and it would sadden me to ask for my physical demand. |

Bitstamp recently got some kind of regulation but strangely since then nobody uses it anymore...
By regulation I mean full transparency of the exchanges and their employees! ... I want to see even if they make a backdoor deal even when they are on a toilet. I have a very strong feeling that some exchanges don't have the coin necessary to back their transactions. Meaning I think that "The Club" can be pulling a fast one on us by creating fake and not backed supply. |

in fact I find strange the many thousands of coins lent out on BFX at a rate always <0.00X%. Don't these lenders think if they are sabotaging themselves lending at so low rates to shorters against their coins value? I stopped lending when rates on Polo went below 0.04%/day. Dude .. I made like 2.8% - 3.5% just in a week of trading! And the exchange trading bot holds the prices from both sides always on longs and with a diminishing return scale applied! The market has built in the expectation that these spikes will always collapse. It will come as a shock when one does not...  The emotional trend is that the price of Bitcoin is not satisfying enough to be sold for a cheap price of $500-600$. For me personally a reasonable price would be 50.000$ - 80.0000$ per coin ( yeah 50k - 80k ... not a typo!) ... but till then I will want to see the markets bleed supply! |

So, we have 38 days until the halving. Price is at ~$530. KNC just went Bankrupt, There is no scaling solution. Is it realistic to expect moon? I think maybe we'll have moon like October, but I don't see really anything hugely positive unless all the demand comes from China due to ongoing currency devaluations. I'd like to see another leg up this weekend but I'm not sure anymore.
Think this with logic... If China miners control most of the coin production. The exchanges will have supply problems! Meaning they will need to pour dollars/euro's towards China! And I don't think the commies know how valuable is bitcoin... so they will gladly accept dollar/euro "illusion money" to boost their yuan "illusion money". But assuming extracting coins from China exchanges won't be challenged by bureaucratic interventions... it will boost price in China as well and also it will boost the price in the West because they still have to do traditional banking that needs 2-3 days for international transfers to take place. Or the second option is that they need to buy directly from miners on the down low, hush.. hush... or from actual citizens... that will have the same effect mostly ... like 1-5 days delay and exchanges all over the world will have supply issues. Or there might be a 3rd option where the China miners already are involved in the West trading markets and will bring the coins directly to the West but for the same price or a better price than their own exchanges! So all scenarios point to higher prices for Bitcoin purchase! |
