The likelihood of a worldwide apocalyptic event is staggeringly small. What could possibly happen to make every nation in the world including small islands in the Pacific to lose power, food, water, energy, etc?
A shtf event is more likely to hit one country ala Venezuela right now where Bitcoin is very useful. Or even a world war would leave small pockets of untouched nations that would welcome you and your bitcoins (your gold as well).
My shtf plan is mobility. First sign of bad things coming and I find my next country to live in. And they all take bitcoin.
You do know that an ice age has already started right?? That will last for a short period of time 20-30 years, but it still enough to attempt a decimation of the human race and trimming the current population numbers!  Don't be so sure. The beginning of civilization happened soon after the last ice age. Yep... I like the cold! It encourages ideas and productivity in harsh conditions! |

I easily won my bet of btc passing 2k by the beginning of March. Now I'm setting up another side bet with the same person on the over under of btc hitting 3k by the end of this month. I have to choose this time because he took the under on the last bet. I'm torn because I'm thinking the under but I would prefer to lose the bet and haveit surpass 3k by end of June
It will go over 3k ... but I would advise the other person to stop betting against going down, because its going up! And you should know that everything under $5k is a dip till the end of this year! |

You must be new here... ... If you check the historical data, you will see that it is much more stable now than what it was in the past! ... Some made even 100% profits in bitcoin in a matter of days! But now if you make 5-10% in the best week. The thing is that when we look at fiat numbers, we don't see value in them! We only look at the percentage volatility of bitcoin. |

this volatility is joke. It can't be classed as a serious investment, we can have fun with it, but 40% falls in a few hours without any real reason, that isn't a serious investment.

There isn't any really strong reason for a bubble pop like on previous occasions, so I'm still sticking with the theory that this is a big and necessary correction. We've just entered the panic sell stage where the whales make their greatest profits. A bit more of that now I expect

Lawl As I said at the time, I didn't consider a dip to where we were earlier in the day to be a buying opportunity. I had less than $1000 in my pocket and I wasn't going to free up some cash to buy more at that price. When circumstance had me near an ATM later and I saw that the day's candle had gone back to red, I decided to buy what I could comfortably afford without leaving myself short, so I spent $500. Don't worry. If it dips all the way down to below $1880 I'll reallocate enough funds to make a real purchase. Old man... you should buy / make with that money a deep spacious house with many plants giving off oxygen so you can breath fresh air!!! It will help you get younger! Because the air pollution these days makes you age faster and sickness catches you easy! |

You guys are so rich now. It's embarrassing. I hope you're giving to the poor.  i have to walk to the local bank on a daily basis (part of my job). there are beggars sitting on the sidewalks. i always gave them change. since december, when price rise started to accelerate i decided to give em more as long as bitcoin is rising. not long ago i had to start handing out € 5 notes which raised some eyebrows. last week i switched to € 10 notes. they must really wonder what kind of freak i am, because next week i will start with € 20 bills and if this sucker keeps rising there are still € 50 and € 100 bills. not sure what price level must be reached until i pull out the € 500 bill. but i am commited.  Good lord! How many BTC you have? Nah, forget the question. I hope you are already converting some of your profits to FIAT (or you already have enough FIAT/Real estate just in case shit happens) if you have already reached your "richness" factor. Congrats! It would be a better choice to convert profits into gold instead. If you don't need to spend it yet, the only thing you should convert to is something else that's stable and has a limited supply. Trading is fine but IMO when you're withdrawing significant amounts, spending or going for gold are usually better choices. My 2 cents are that investing in water is much more safer than gold. |
