2441  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 29, 2013, 03:56:54 AM
Regarding proxy software (stratum) I have to reccomend BFGMiner over Slush's proxy. I've used both for awhile now and BFG comes out much better. The blades don't have near as many issues, and the work shares are more consistent.

In addition to making sure the blades work like a charm, it's nice being able to see aggregate stats on the blade farm in one spot without using html. I'm convinced that html request processing on the blade's part causes network issues for the blades.

Anyhow, 3 thumbs up to luke-jr and bfgminer.

For this thread to be considered 'comprehensive', I suggest the OP provide software proxy info on the first post, as the thread has had folks inquiring about it. I suggest BFGminer as the primary focus, Slush's should also be mentioned. Just a suggestion.

Is this the Windows or Linux BFGMiner?  What code do you use in BFG so it sees the Blades?

Both Windows and Linux. You use the --http-port flag to set the getwork port. By default it's 8332 I believe, but you could use anything as long as the blade uses the same.

Basically start BFG as you normally would, add --http-port 8332, and point your blades to the server running BFG using 8332 and they'll connect up. For blade setup make sure each blade has a unique worker name, password doesn't matter.

So I'd heard that BFL was charging folks more money to receive order transfers, and have seen it with my own eyes now, so that's no longer just a rumor. Wonder if they'll provide actual receipt/money-transaction proof of the inrease. They're filing it under 'additional shipping charges'. Despite the fact shipping is flat rate and prepaid in the original order.

Add that to the many methods BFL uses to shove golf clubs up folks' rear.

Anyone else see this too? I've heard of it in a few cases, verified one with my own eyes.

I have done 2 transfers and didn't have to pay anything extra for the shipping. Granted $34 to ship a Jally is fucking outrageous and borderline criminal.

You paid for increased shipping and were not aware of it. Jally prepaid shipping is $7 per unit (at some point it went to $14 for up to 2 jallys), flat rate USPS. It's on the original order form.

They're charging $20 extra for jally orders, and more for larger units, despite the fact USPS isn't charging them more.

If I were you, I would contact BFL about it. You're right, it is outrageous, because they defrauded you. $14 (original price) + $20 = $34. You got shanked.
2443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: September 27, 2013, 03:14:11 PM
Your thoughts echo part of what I brought up earlier. Despite there being a discount, the Cointerra 2TH unit would recoup a couple hundred USD more than the BA 2TH unit, but you'd spend less on the BA unit. So proportionally-speaking you pay less but lose less with BA.

At that point, in my mind, I'd probably lean toward Cointerra because I know more about the individuals who make up the company, and they're based in the US (same as myself).

That's just my thoughts.
2444  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] [BFL] [~64 GH/s] Preorder (is going to be shipped) on: September 27, 2013, 02:49:44 PM
Was done yesterday. Answer "Yes", as you can see here:
Code:
I think this feature sounds good if there will be direct shipping to you.
2 notes:
- I can't find what "Amount that buyer will pay:" means - waiting answer from support.
- Payment must be before transfer, may be not all 100%. That's because escrow can't confirm or not order transfer and transfer is irreversible, as I can see.

Tell me more about "transfer feature" - there was no e-amils from BFL as I know... I think this feature sounds good if there will be direct shipping to you.
You will simply transfer this order using BFL's transfer feature?

Log into your BFL account and look at the menu, you'll see it. Let me know what you think.

Basically when you transfer you can't put $0 as the transfer cost. When I've received orders from people, they put $1 in the field. Nobody is required to pay that, BFL just needs to see something other than $0 for the cost. If that helps any.

Also on the price, there's no way anyone on this forum is going to give you 11BTC for a preorder BFL product. I'm willing to buy it out from you, but not nearly for that much. In a best case scenario you might get the miner sometime in November. If you look at any good calculator and estimate the potential payout, it might bring you 3-5BTC. MIGHT. I'll send you a PM with an offer.

Just wanted to say big thumbs up to luke-jr/bfgminer. I'm using it for ASICMiner Blades. I've been comparing it to Slush's proxy and BFG is in a class of its own. More reliable, more consistent, and it's nice being able to see aggregate stats on all blades which connect to it.

I reccomended it be the #1 proxy suggestion for the blades, in the ASICMiner Blade setup thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=205369.msg3247579#msg3247579

I have 6 Jupiters and 2 Saturns on order, so unlike most of the trolls that are doing all the whining, I have lots of skin in the game.

But no skin on your face by the look of things.

LOL'd hard on this. I like Redacted's posts, but i had to laugh at this.

Man people blew this thread up the last few pages.. folks need to chill. Make a thread to release anger and hate, keep it separate from this one.

Of course it's a little late now, that'd be over 545 pages to split off.

Have you oc/d any of them before (which can be detected)? Any issues?
2454  Economy / Auctions / Re: KNC Juipter miner (day 1 production) on: September 25, 2013, 02:43:24 PM
I was thinking to cancel my order and ask for a refund but I just realized that someone could be interested on it.

What I paid:
3,560.20$ Saturn + $3,795.00 Jupiter upgrade = 7,445.50$
Back in June I also spend 3 bitcoins back in june to get the day one production position in the queue (375$)
I also bought a CoolerMaster V1000 PSU for the device (190$)

The starting price is then 8000$ ~ 62 BTC

I live in The Netherlands in case that you want to pick up the package as soon as I get it. Otherwise we can probably deal with this. If you are not interested in the power supply let me know as well.

If nobody is interested I'll ask for a refund.

If this was US, you'd have a deal from me haha..

In the meantime, everyone should get used to the new number: 148.819.199

My prediction is only a few percent off, not bad.

Why is hashfast able to provide the order chain and KnC is not willing to do so?
https://hashfast.com/order-chain/

Someone really bought 200 jets in one go?  How reliable is this information?

It was me.  It was I.

LOL.. maybe I'm the only one who gets the correlation between this aircraft and the KNC prototypes. If that's what you're trying to say.

Yeah, and Cointerra's 2TH boxes. Many, many, many orders. In talking to them, order queue in the 4 digit range for Dec/Jan.

Like I've said in a few speculation threads (so far my diff projections have been almost spot on), I'm pretty sure we are only on the brink of rise. It will be vertical for quite awhile. It will plateau eventually, but people even with the large machines, will feel the struggle just to churn out what block erupters are doing today.
2459  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs New 600GH "Mining Card" - RED FLAGS?!?! on: September 24, 2013, 10:48:51 PM
In all seriousness, a good proof that they were sitting on their components and mining, would be if mining suddenly became much harder and BFL products started flying out the door.

It would also give them a chance to go "hey, look, Monarch go hash hash fast fast".

This way they could pump more cash from the few zombies still following the stench fest.

Numerous times the network saw a massive spike in hashrate with no known massive shipments of units. So someone had their private farm of ASICS.  It could have been a rich millionaire or the Chinese government or the NSA, who knows.

But you could mine with customer's rigs and not let on.  Say you have 100 mini rigs mining.  It's not like you flipped them on all at once.  It was gradual, like say a couple per day.  The wouldn't look odd as many various ASICS were being shipped all around the world.

Now say Sonny has 100 mini rigs mining in his basement.  It's not like he's gonna shut them all off at once and ship them.  No, he's gonna shut down a couple per day and ship them and most likely replace them with newer orders so there will always only be a gradual scaling up of the network so it will not look obvious at all.

A 100 minrigs is nothing nowadays, they suck so much power that they are not worth owning.

ABSOULTELY. Why that's a paltry net of $26k PER DAY @ $.1/kWh. Who'd bother with that?!?

Psh.. some of us make that hourly.

These miners are headed to Josh's basement for burn in  Kiss
