As far as demilitarization of countries goes, to disarm them means that you have to be stronger than they are. That's often why there are wars... one country trying to disarm another country. The US isn't any more peaceful than Iran or Russia. They simply do their killing very sneakily. Consider all the people they put in jail for not paying taxes, and all the families they break up this way. First they conquer the people. Then they make them play ball through taxation. Disarmament and demilitarization of nations is a tricky thing to do if you want to keep true peace. |

I wonder how many of the soldiers who are killed in the war, just before they die, if they don't have some regrets about joining as a soldier in something as stupid as a war. It must be a big let-down for many, that they failed in what they were trying to accomplished... and that they can't even tell if the war is going to turn out well for their side. |

This is significantly better attendance than any other American anti-war demonstration in recent years that I'm aware of. It's nowhere remotely close to the historic numbers people demonstrated in to protest the war in Iraq, and it's nowhere remotely close to what it should be for an issue of such existential importance. But it's a start. Maybe the start of something good. The ANSWER Coalition has a March on Washington scheduled for March 18th for the 20th anniversary of the Iraq invasion demanding "Negotiations not escalation" in Ukraine and an end to US militarism abroad. The main point about a currency is that it is controlled by banks or governments. Before we get a one-world currency, we need to find a method to do it that is totally decentralized, so that nobody controls how it works. Why? Because controllers get paid for their work, like anybody else on a job. But currency controllers can mess with our lives to actually steal from us by adjusting the way that the currency works. Other than that, all it takes is bargaining between people... face to face over computer screens. And, of course, language barrier removal. Note that Bitcoin combined with Nostr just might be the start of something like this. Nostr is about as decentralized as you can get. The trick is trust in Bitcoin, when you don't literally meet the other person in your transaction, and when you have to trust that he is going to send the product you paid him for. |

Look at it this way. Gambling simply weeds out the weak from the strong. Congress is spending money that our great grandchildren will have to pay back. They are doing this by supporting the Ukraine war and other endeavors around the world. Smart, youthful gamblers of today win even if they lose. How? Like Congress, they get into gambling from the top end - owning and running gambling houses - so that they make money off the gamblers like Congress does of the people in general. |

Indeed, it seems as if social media is now more important than real life. And some people are always active on social media because they want to get more attention from other people or don't want to be left behind by friends.
The way to deal with it is rather difficult, if you are addicted. The only way is to chat a lot with family, or invite family to do an outdoor activity that makes them fun.
Social media has changed the lives of people all together. Now we spend more time on phone than with family. my family try to control the use of social media and that is a good thing about us. But we shouldn't feel too bad about it. Because many family members spend time on social media talking to family that is right in the next room.  |

People of the civilized world will not stop supporting Ukraine until the last Russian soldier leaves the occupied areas(Crimea included), because what Putin's regime did was a brutal attack on civilized world, which Russia itself used to be a part of not that long ago. And if such thing goes unpunished, then other barbarians might start thinking they could try to do the same.
This isn't the first that I have seen. However, it's possibly the first formal move I have seen in Congress. I have posted a few other posts that suggest the same thing in other ways. That means that it was the Democrat Party that actually didn't stop at anything to get into power, even though the Republican Party may have had such thoughts. The last several decades of election process corruption is something that Republicans barely step low enough to do, but democrats eat it up like pie. |

Church. Why? It reminds me that I have eternal life in Jesus. And this is something that takes all fear away. Sure, my body still cowers somewhat at the thought of dying. It's a natural feeling. But it goes away a whole lot when I remember that Jesus will revive my dead body sometime, and that He will convert it into super-health, that lives forever in eternal joy. |
