Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity

You cant get value out of emission inflation. Emission inflation is just one of the factors that adds to supply and pushes price down. When emission inflation decreases, so stock to flow rise then pressure to push price down decreases.  That is all. There are many more factors that determinate the price.
2462  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bakkt on: September 10, 2019, 06:04:23 PM
It looks Wall street dont like Bitcoin that much. Apparently is not that much interest. Hopefully just yet and not at all.
2463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying Bitcoin in Germany on: September 09, 2019, 10:25:39 PM
Paypal is undoubtedly one of the worst methods to deal with cryptocurrencies.

He is trading with his friend. He dont have any trust issue. Why would your friend that you help him make a charge back?
2464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple transfer 500 million XRP tokens to its Escrow wallet on: September 09, 2019, 07:43:32 PM
On September 3, the Ripple community has been greeted with the news that Ripple has made another huge transaction transferring 500 million XRP tokens from the Ripple Escrow Wallet to Ripple. Crypto enthusiasts, coin traders, and XRP investors have differing opinions on this move. Others perceive this negatively by stating accusations about Ripple’s price control agenda through the dumping of XRP tokens.

And another 100 million XRP to stellar founder who already have for $20 billion of ripple and daily dumps half million Tongue   LOL
2465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MONERO - $2500 on: September 09, 2019, 05:57:26 PM
XMR is $80 right now.

What do you think about XMR? Is XMR going to be $2500 along with BTC bull run?

how the heck u can say like that easily, i mean ur speculation have no sense.
on nowadays, with btc dominance almost 70% , i cant imaginate how much BTC price if u want XMR going to $2500.
also another altcoins like ETH,LTC,XRP and how much market cap after.

Monero dominance is only 0.5%. So at $2500 will not hold that big piece of the pie.
2466  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto, Universal income and cryogenics the redistribution of wealth on: September 09, 2019, 05:17:17 PM
About the Universal basic income.

I don't know enough, but it's the thing where everyone would make the same amount of money, no matter what's your job?

LOL why dont you google the term?  Universal basic income is that money that gets collected thru taxes gets evenly distributed to all citizens. Right now those that apply and show they need more help gets more and those that dont apply or have a lot dont get anything.  Like someone that cant walk get a lot of money. Someone that can walk get nothing. Universal basic income would give the same to both.

What some countries will start with is universal basic income fro kids. So far only kids from poor parents got help. From now on all kids will get help. No matter how rich their parents are. Or how skilled are to apply for help or bend the law in their advantage.
2467  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to predict Bit coin price. on: September 09, 2019, 04:33:01 PM
Any body here now how to predict bitcoin price. Or is there a hint how when to buy and when to sell bit coins. Or how to make profits on buying and selling bitcoins.? I want to try buying and selling crypto currency.

You should buy half year ago and spend it 2 years from now.  I predicted price of Bitcoin on how price was in past. Of course I could be totally wrong.
2468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: September 08, 2019, 06:36:08 PM
I don't see this any different than the current FIAT system. Once you bend the monetary rules, you can always bend them some more. (That's exactly what's happening since they left the gold standard)

I see the difference. In last 10 years n average M1 https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/money-supply-m1 what is cash and money on bank accounts, (so forget fractional banking) increased 10% a year. In USA in EU in China. 10% is way more then 1.5% that Gold have. Grin will be there in 10 years time.  What is perfect emission it is up for a debate. And totally all are an experiment. What we for sure know there are plenty crypto currencies at the low end so I am very welcoming at least one to not be so low. And yes be like USD for first 10 years and become Gold only after 70 years.

What I keep posting is this. Coins that are bringing something new on a cryto table. Something that Bitcoin will not have 10 years from now will be used and will succeed. All of them. Those that just copy Bitcoin and pimp it up with some make up will be just collectibles and is totally logical Bitcoin will have 99.9999% of their marketcap.
2469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SNC] SunContract - Open Energy Market FIRST P2P ENERGY TRADING IS LIVE!!!! on: September 08, 2019, 06:06:13 PM
So, now the p2p energy trading is live, can anyone confirm if this actually works or is functional? Does it do what was originally advertised?

Trading going on for a year and a half now. This was first ever such project I believe first trades happened in May 2018. If you check past of this thread you will find one post about how much electricity was traded i believe in 2018 or was first half of 2019 compared to last year. Just check it.

What is new is that SunContract with some partners got this grant from EU: https://medium.com/suncontract/suncontract-receives-eu-grant-for-r-d-project-5cc2330c179e   It will make development cheaper.
2470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - HIVE PROJECT - World’s first crypto currency invoice financing platform on: September 08, 2019, 05:22:02 PM
And if you sit back and think about all the hints, you would realize what will be clear in the end of 2018, that HVN will fail. It will go like that: they postpone the release of the platform a few months, then create hype with fake news until the team is able to sell their coins, after that huge dump the project will die. I ve seen a few of them like that. Mark my words!

And you made this account on bitcointalk forum just to tell us your opinion?   Luckily the end of 2018 is near and with transparent ledger as Ethereum have it  will be easily to see it.  Sad part will be that at end of 2018 you will not log to this account anymore. Mark my words on that. So prove you wrong will have no satisfaction.

it seems I'm Nostradamus.Wink Did anything happen since? No? Price 40 sats? Cheesy Cheesy lolol
Glad I went out after the team lied about the exchange listing. They are just too unprofessional, not dynamic enough. Probably the mentality of ex-communist country...

2018 ended long ago. Now we are moving to end of 2019 and you were definitely wrong.  Project is still live.  Smiley

And is being used or at least was in first half of 2019.

Are you gonna place any new predictions?
2471  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Halving Countdown and Other Data on: September 08, 2019, 02:18:12 AM
1800 BTC per day is a lot. In 256 days we will have only 900 new btc per day

900 is not far from Gold mining emission. So Bitcoin finally got to be rare. Of course is still hard to compare both since one was mined in 10 other in 10000 years.

This will happen when BAKKT bring Bitcoin on Wall street. They have no ideas what they put themselves into.
2473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 07, 2019, 03:25:54 PM
Does anybody know where we can check the data on Monero and how much it's being used by DNM's atm?  Just wondering if it's trending higher...

Someone made good research like a year or two ago it was not hard to find it back then with google, but right now I cant find it. But is probably outdated anyway.   As I know a lot of dark markets was taken down this year and they had a lot DDOS attacks. Of course past teach us that new will always pop up and be even stronger.   Dark markets will never have much of an impact on Monero transactions. Biggest impact will have regular people trying to keep their wealth secure.

Samsung Launching a Galaxy Note 10 Crypto-Phone Edition: Sources

Only phone that I would buy is https://puri.sm/products/librem-5/   It is build from scratch all open source and you not need to trust any hardware or software manufacturer.  It is coming out any week now.  And I know was plans to have Monero wallet installed, not sure how will that be at the end.
2475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MONERO - $2500 on: September 06, 2019, 08:07:44 PM
Why should the price reach $ 2500? Is there any objective reason for this, or have you done a fundamental analysis? Monero is a good coin, but due to the fact that it is anonymous government bodies have a negative attitude towards it and problems with its use may arise in the future. These difficulties may, accordingly, affect the price of a coin.

If you believe any government will use cryptocurrencies with transparent ledger you are very wrong. Dont you think they want to hide their transactions from prying eyes of other governments?  Do you believe USA government will use Bitcoin to pay Hong Kong protesters? Or you believe they would use Monero. Governments have same use case of opaque ledger crypto currencies as anyone else.
2476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which country to start an altcoin? on: September 06, 2019, 06:27:23 PM
I've been interested in how to win over bitcoin (if at all).
The idea I got is using social mining, thus each person having Facebook account will get a coin for free.
The idea is to get more users more faster compared to BTC and not win by technology.

1) Has such been tried ?
2) In what country might it be cheapest to start launching a website and ask people to join to see whether such coin can be brought to life and turns viral ?

That idea is called an airdrop. Gazilion coins had distributed part or all coins that way.

If you want to make a useful coin, make such that have something that Bitcoin will not have and people will use it 10 years from now. You dont need any airdrops to get new users when you have such coin.   If you will make just another bitcoin copy no airdrop will not help you.
2477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 06, 2019, 05:59:45 PM
Can't go wrong holding any crypto with decent volume for the next bull run but I think holding ethereum is a much better move from current prices.

Longer list with all top pure PoW coins. Their forks are identical so i excluded those.

Gold 1.5-1.8%
Monero 3.666%
Bitcoin 3.668%
Litecoin 4.16%
Doge 4.34%
ZCash 35.83%
Grin 158.63%

and similar was with value of coins that gets mined daily.

Doge 14.4m = $37.7k
Monero 1725 = $130k
Grin 86400 = 185k
ZCash 7200 = $334k
Litecoin 7200 = $496k
Bitcoin 1800 = $19.16m

Wondering why you didn't mention Eth? Its still all pow since pos hasn't been released yet.

I skipped all coins that were not fully mined. Most of ETH coins was created in ICO. 72 millions ETH was just printed and sold for tiny bit of BTC. That is 2/3 and that makes ETH a security and organizers will have to answer the law.
2478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality Check: Out with the OLD on: September 06, 2019, 05:34:19 PM

noticed them too. top ten coins before the 2017 includes NEM and Madesafe but are now replaced by the new coins/tokens. by the next bullrun the new will also emerge and will replace the old ones. i wouldn't mind seeing the old coins stay within the top 50 though, i still have been keeping most of those coin since i was here already when they did an ICO.

NEM and Maidsafe have way higher marketcap as they had in 2016 when they were in top10. They lost spots simply because of all Bitcoin forks whose market cap is inflated because so many bitcoin holders had not claimed them. And they lost spots also from various ICO coins where huge part of coins was taken by developers and never hit market to correct price.  Conmarketcap ranklist is totally irrelevant.
2479  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 06, 2019, 02:27:55 PM
It would be a nice irony if the outcome of Brexit was a break up of Great Britain with Scotland achieving independence and Northern Ireland joining Ireland while England and Wales stay in the EU.

But when you play with matches, sometimes shit catches on fire, yo.

Sounds Just like the bitcoin forks fractal delusions

Fuck the EU dictatorship.

You wanted to say UK dictatorship over Northern Ireland and Scotland?

Brexit was orchestrated from outside of UK. With plan to weaken EU and UK. Divide and conquer. By those that EU is competitor, so mainly United States ( amazing ally we have) and China. Possibly someone else like Russia or Saudis. Those that planed it give a shit about UK and if will still have Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland. Not having it should actually better fit their agenda. They exactly knew what will happen. They knew all united Europe will stand behind Ireland and there will be no border on the island of Ireland ever again.
If youre saying Nigel Farage could have been helped/funded by external influences, then maybe. But theres no need for conspiracies. We have the bogey man. Its Nigel Farage, and he is definitely not afraid to be that bogey man.
As far as i know, WTO rules demand that Ireland/EU erect a physical border, in the absence of any deal/agreement. But actually wont happen. Not because of any stand, but because any official/s that are involved in Irish physical borders gets a bullet with their name on it from the IRA, and bombs start going off in London, Dublin and Brussels.
Well the UK, could do what ever the fuck they want then, they're a sovereign nation, it's Ireland who would have to obey demands from Brussels.
Uh no sir the brits are a small part of the EU. They are not a sovereign nation, and certainly no democracy.
Once they are out they can have their own border rules, it's Ireland being forced by the EU to have a physical barrier or am I somehow wrong?
They will not be allowed to leave.

I dont knwo what you two are talking about.

Right now Ireland island is without border between Irish people that live in Ireland and on Northern Ireland that is part of UK.   Once UK leave EU, Ireland demand that such border dont appear. And whole Europe will stand beside our Irish brothers. Because we are One! Their rights are our rights. Fuck with Ireland, fuck with us all.
2480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen to alts if Bitcoin crashes back to $5000? on: September 06, 2019, 02:15:58 PM
I don't think many alts would recover against Bitcoin if this happens and so they will crash even more. Some solid alts with good liquidity like Litecoin may recover but most won't recover in my opinion. Thoughts? Undecided
Solid projects like litecoin will recover I think.

What is a solid project?   a solid project is that project brings something new on crypto table. Something that will be used 10 years from now and Bitcoin cant do it on their own.  I am sorry to tell you that Litecoin is excluded in category of solid projects.   But I am not saying it will die or anything like that. It will just never be used much. There will be millions such not used coins and each of them will have some price, that will not be that high. But they will still exist.
