1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can the market stand this trial on: March 22, 2020, 06:24:39 PM
The market have withstood a lot in the past but what is happening right now is something unexpected, because of this the market crashed by over 50% do you think the market can recover if this scenario worsen and last for several months, what could be the possible solution here in the market.

That is what market does. It recovers and it corrects.  Market is very resilient over time. If something better then market would come by would replace market long time ago. But it did not in few 1000 years. And that tells us that supply and demand will met in the market even when covid-19 threat is gone.

Will steem survive competition of Hive? Or will get forgotten?  I am sure Steem already had a lot of competitors, but none was such a copy as is Hive.
1604  Economy / Economics / Re: Virus Bear Market? on: March 22, 2020, 05:35:33 PM
Hello, late to all this doom & gloom news, had my head stuck in the sand for a while been busy. Just got out of it and hear this corona virus thing causing markets worldwide to crash even oil markets. Questions:

Covid-19 virus recently caused the crash of btc over a week ago?

Government saying this virus hype can last till next year, meaning Btc crash will be sustained to new lows this year similar to a virus bear market till next year when the virus fear hype is over?

Will Btc halving this May coming will get us out of this virus bear market?

Whats covid-19 virus got to do with Bitcoin? Its not a computer or blockchain virus that attacks btc so why Btc crash?

In global recessions/depressions/global economic meltdowns people turn to gold/silver and digital gold such as bitcoin so why bitcoin crash and gold market not crashing in times like these?

You just need to read what you wrote and you would realise you answered your questions.

1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether Treasury Continues Its Printing Spree, Issues $240M in Under 3 Days on: March 21, 2020, 09:14:17 AM
Oh you are bothering with $240  millions that tether printed for USD that they put in bank?

Why dont you bother about this

$1.5T in Repo
$1.1T Commercial paper relief
$1T in US fiscal stimulus
$750B QE from ECB
$600B QE from the Fed
$600B bank loan guarantee (France/UK)
$500B in loans (Germany)
$300B in Japanese stimulus (proposed)
$100B in fiscal stimulus across Europe

=== $64.000.000 millions

Do you know how many times $240 m is that?

it's ridiculous to compare Tether with national currency and monetary policy of a country.

I wonder at that. Tether has nothing to do with country currencies, completely different. I think the treasury wants to make available more USDT because of the crisis and the fact that people seem to be converting their crypto coins to USDT more these past days.

Tether is USD. Every time USD gets printed it inflate tether. When one loaf of bread will cost 1000 USD it will also cost 1000 tether.

Earlier it was reported, the Italian charity organization, Red Cross, has introduced a blockchain platform to collect donations to combat the disease.

They are collecting Bitcoins to buy a tent or something. They did not introduced any blockchain platform. Here is direct link if you want to donate: https://app.helperbit.com/project/5e6a64ee84cb8662d901a29c/covid19-advanced-medical-post-for-pretriage-in-italy
1610  Economy / Economics / Re: The Corona Pandemic economic guessing game on: March 20, 2020, 06:51:44 PM
Italy will be the likely candidate, as it is one of the worst country that is being hit by the virus outside of China. Death toll already surpassed 2,500, and the demographics itself, country has the second-oldest population on earth. And obviously, the younger generation respect their elders in a Catholic country like Italy that's why the spread is unprecedented. And I think we can consider Italy now as ground zero, so it have slowed down their economy in the last month or so.

Italy is just first that was hit hard after China. That dont mean that at the end of pandemic they will be hit most. Usually in pandemic is even better to be hit early since you can get some help from other countries. Right now there are many countries on same path as was China and Italy and will be way less help for those in need.

Also, apparently, the lab in Wuhan the virus "escaped" from? Owned by Soros. It really only does take one bad Jew to make up for a million who don't really do anything.

China dont let foreigners to own company there. Elon Musk was allowed to open company in China exclusively. They did it because they know it will be needed. Tesla shares skyrocked after that news.   You are allowed to have share in Chinese companies. Not own them fully.

If you would try to provide links to your claim you would notice is a false information.
1612  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2020, 01:28:49 PM
Quarter million infected. It keeps getting easier.

Much more because many dont have symptoms and then never get tested. Probably is 5 times more infected. And probably close to quarter million is already immune.

The European Central Bank has launched a 'bazooka' $820 billion pandemic fund to aid markets. 'There are no limits.'

Quote
The European Central Bank (ECB) has unveiled a new €750 billion ($820 billion) response to the coronavirus in a bid to calm financial markets.
The so-called Pandemic Emergency Purchase Programme (PEPP) comes less than a week after the central bank announced policies which did little to provide comfort to traders.
It follows similar plans by the Federal Reserve and numerous major economies to stem the damage from Covid-19.

People would be happy if the money was distributed to families.

1614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lightning Network - Thoughts? on: March 19, 2020, 04:39:04 PM
It seems, It has a lot of detractors than supporters, Because it is more of a centralized network.

Lightning is not a main protocol layer. So you dont need totally decentralisation as you need there. You dont even need to use lightning at all. And everyone that will move big sums of BTC will avoid Lightning and use main Bitcoin layer.

I think I Found The Reason For Bitcoin's Latest Crash

A news story claiming quantum breakthrough was published on march 11th, 2020:  https://phys.org/news/2020-03-year-old-puzzle-quantum-breakthrough.html

I dont know on what world are you living. On planet Earth everyone talks about deadly covid19 virus. Where we need to self isolate and with that economic activity decreases a lot. Covid19 is a sole reason why we have sub $10000 Bitcoin right now. And it will keep Bitcoin under $10000 for many more months.
1617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 19, 2020, 12:59:09 PM

Why worse? Asymptomatic cases will for sure not need hospital. Main problem that we have is that there is/will not be enough hospital beds/medical stuff/medical equipment for all. If 70% of population is immediately taken out, then we are operating with much smaller numbers. For me this is a very good news.
The problem is asyntomatic is that they don’t know they are spreading the virus around. Hence they are actually infecting people a lot more than syntomatic people that eventually quarantine themselves reducing contagion risks.
This is why lockdowns are important even early on the infection cycle.

Not more. Someone that is not sick dont caught, dont sneeze, they can spread virus but way way way less then someone that is sick a lot. Everyone is cautious. That s totally normal.  But for me this research is super good news.   Bad about is only that those people that will already get over virus and be totally cure and immune to it will still think they can get virus. But again maybe that is not so bad, since others who still can get infected might felt to secure if all that got immune started acting totally normal.
1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which tokens do you like to stake/hold for profits? on: March 19, 2020, 03:17:27 AM
Which tokens do you like to stake/hold for profits?

What you earn from staking is so small compared to how much some coin/token increase/decrease value in one month. I would not bother with thinking of how much you can earn by staking but rather buy coins/tokens that will have use case in future and its value will increase in next 10 years.  Also if sole use case of a coin is to stake it sounds a lot like a ponzi.

Understandable, but you do not need to do anything right? Also this NwC project has 25% rewards if you buy enough of those coins, that's not that bad imo.. But as i said i'm still new in this segment.

Price of Bitcoin dropped 40% in single day two days ago. It can also grow the same. Altcoins are even more volatile. You say a coin have 25% reward for a year?  I can only make a big LOL!!!

Yeah people tend to say that a lot, altcoins can pump up to 50%, but not after the dump in 2017. I did not catch any big "pumps" since then..

All you need to do is open coinmarketcap and you will find coins with +50% every single day. Today you have Steem. Wasting time with staking 0.000001% is total waste of time.

1620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 18, 2020, 11:54:08 PM
These are stats of the people who were actually diagnosed though which obviously involves going to hospital & getting tested. The people who are suffering & need to rush to hospital are the weak/already ill/elderly.

There will be thousands & thousands who have mild symptoms who don’t seek any testing or treatment & recover totally 100%. These people will not be included in those stats.

The stats above make it look much worse than the reality is.

Well, the point it that those with mild symptoms or totally asymptomatic could still be contagious and spread the disease, eventually making things even worse in the future.
In Italy there are for sure a LOT of asymptomatic cases, and we are debating to test basically everyone or not.
In the meantime elderly people are dying at an unnatural rate in certain regions.
