2462  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY .25 btc : combining different shopping portals for rewards programs on: November 03, 2013, 06:57:37 PM
Hello, some sites let you click through them before going to the actual store's website, enabling the consumer to get larger discounts and "points" with the initial site.

Although there can be different portals, many of those portals go to the same store website like to Macys.com for instance

I am looking for how practical it is to combine those kind of sites via cookies or network analysis or other, to get multiple rewards for single orders

PM me

So, you mean, say, cashback sites?

If so, then it won't work. They all set cookies, but when it comes to the site, the rule is usually that the last set cookie wins. You won't be able to use multiple sites for the same purchase.

okay, is this an absolute?

Yes. It's an absolute due to how the retailer pays the discount site.

what about modifying the cookie, I haven't looked at the contents of these cookies yet

maybe session ids can be inserted into a cookie, or the server side software assumes too many things about cookies

Can you modify cookies? Yes. Can you change a cookie with the correct cookie name to have multiple session IDs? No, because they'll end up being detected as 1 session ID and the whole cookie will become useless.

CHANGELOG FOR 1/11/2013:

- Changed featured site @ http://freebitcoins.pw/featured/
- Added 1 faucet @ http://freebitcoins.pw/faucets/
- Removed 1 site @ http://freebitcoins.pw/other/ due to the site being closed.

Currently running the site at a loss (it costs ~$60 a year in upkeep which I've already invested into the site), if you like it please donate! Smiley

Your lack of referral links kills me... Shocked I don't know a reason not to have them, it doesn't cost them anything,

and then you wouldn't have to ask for donations... I'm still not at the break even point with my site,

but that's because I roll all profit into more advertising... Only 25% on my list of sites has a referrals links, but when they do I'm Smiley

We only have a referral link for freebitco.in and bitvegas.net at the moment, we may change soon though.

It's at a loss because it runs on an unlimited bandwidth hosting provider, and I'm locked down for ~10 months longer. I really expected more traffic. Tongue

CHANGELOG FOR 3/11/2013:

- Added submission form to the faucet section. You can now use it to quickly email me the URL by simply typing the URL of the faucet you wish to submit, then clicking the button. Smiley

Well how many people believed that the price would jump from lets say 0.01$ for 1BTC to 200$? If people did, there wont be no trade since everyone would w8 for that moment ( ppl know were sure it would reach that price ) and cash put then, and since there is no trade there is no real value. So be thankful that some poor miners sold 10k for few $.

Thats true, this is why Bitcoin will never be 1 mil USD/BTC.

When I think about it, it might never reach 1000 USD/BTC
This is wrong on so many levels, that I don't even wanna start explaining.

This, lmao.

2470  Other / Meta / Re: (PETITION) Fix the bitcoin price of Donator and VIP ranks to fiat. on: November 03, 2013, 12:53:50 PM
If bitcoin reaches 1000 , we are going to see a lot fewer donators , not many people would give 10 K to 50 K dollars ...
So , why not attach it to Fiat , but still charge it in BTC ?

Because this is a BTC forum.

And do you think people who donated 50 BITCOINS to a BITCOIN forum are going to be happy about it?

No problem, that's the reason I made it. Smiley

Turns out that bitcoininformation doesn't have 2 faucets anymore; I am now editing the /faucets/ homepage to reflect this.

2475  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bitcoin Faucet where you can get upto 1 BTC every hour **NEW PROMO** on: November 02, 2013, 09:02:55 PM
Nice work wetsuit.

How is the ad revenue doing? I would  hate such a good fun tap to run dry. Wink

Better than I had hoped. It is more than covering payouts for now but the biggest risk I see in the future is the rising value of Bitcoin which will make things difficult and I might have to reduce the amounts people can win then.

That's really cool. Too many faucets run dry. Don't worry about the rising of Bitcoin. If the payouts remain similar in fiat it has the same attraction. So at the moment you offer the chance to win 1 BTC which is now $215, if BTC doubles and you only offer a max prize of 0.5.... but BTC is $430.... you get the picture.

The only thing that really matters is that revenue > outgoing.

I still think 1 BTC is as attractive as 1 BTC is, even when BTC is worth $100 instead of $200. Undecided

I am honored. Yes, I truly am a gigantic scammer. I didn't even have to trade with him to scam him!

You're welcome boss, you have the trust to go with it.

I feel like a King. May I have an assassination bounty to go with it?

Update Time:

Everything is running well after our tests on the new server. Blockchain is synced. We're awaiting the datacenter to point to the site (dropping the maintenance page).

What about the launch bonus? Will it continue? How many of it is still available?

This, I've been wondering also.
I am also wondering. I need some more funds for my faucet and if I could win those at SatoshiDice. It would be nice if I could get back the funds if I lost it.

Yeah, something needs to be done to stop people like Mooshire abusing it though.
