2466  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sketch service. Giving away personal info SSN. on: February 04, 2013, 09:54:11 PM
I see a lot of people happy with his service. I am not a fan. The user danieldaniel had you look up my information. I am not a scammer and I do not appreciate you giving some kid my personal information. Complete bull shit. I cant find where it is illegal in the US to do what it is you are doing but this helps scammers not sellers. It make it easy to set up fake accounts and steal identities. This is an awful service and should be removed.
2467  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for trusted member here to sell me some starter btc thru PP Ill go first on: February 04, 2013, 09:28:09 PM
I have been told by paypal that if the payment is sent as a gift from the home IP address that it can not be charged back. I had a guy rob me on 10 coins for a total of 140$ and I could not have the payment reversed. I am a power seller on ebay and spent 10k+ in fees from ebay an PP last year and they still would not refund me. So I dont know what you could do to make it 100% but it has to be close to that. Paypal is the same deal as bitcoin you can only deal with people you trust. The thing to figure out is who to trust.
2468  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to purchase 27 bit coins? on: February 04, 2013, 09:08:33 PM
It is not all that bad of advice. Pay pal will not care that is true they do not insure digital items period, but a lot of the other advice was really good. We do something similar we have them send us and email and then we look at the Ip address and make sure it is in the right part of the country.

I do not think that I have to worry about Pay pal shutting down my account for selling bitcoin for PP they let me do it everyday on ebay. PP doesnt care as long as they get paid and you dont have loses you cant cover.
2469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to purchase 27 bit coins? on: February 04, 2013, 09:03:14 PM
I agree 100% they really dont like Paypal (I was banned for talking about PP) on irc and I wouldnt send someone new to bitcoin to irc it is full of scammers. I would really not feel comfortable sending for 27 bitcoins on irc for money pak where you send first. Someone could rip you off and think the neg rating is worth it. 594 for one negative a lot of people would do that. You can create as many accounts as you want on irc. I sell bitcoins for pay pal in small quantities with my business bitcoin friends. We are currently out of coins but will get restocked soon. You can find our page on facebook.
2470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sketch service. Giving away personal info SSN. on: February 04, 2013, 08:52:28 PM
Ya you cant set up accounts and mess with someone with just their address. It is un-ethical to sell SSN. I am surprised to find that it is not illegal.

2473  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware off OTC. on: February 03, 2013, 01:13:54 AM
I am not sure I understand your commit are you saying that I am a failed scammer?
2474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware off OTC. on: February 02, 2013, 06:17:52 AM
It is a long way from being user friendly. If the average person cant use it then it is never going to take off if the guy off the street logs in and sees a bunch of scammers and kids using profanity or god forbid a woman try and use the site they aren't coming back and they take their money with them. You only get one shot to make a good impression. I have seen dozens of scams. All those people tell their friends.  I understand people work for free on it and it is hosted in a closet at some university out west,  but it needs a lot of work imo it is not a real market place or at least not a good or viable market place.
2475  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware off OTC. on: February 01, 2013, 09:41:21 PM
so you get one account get rated once and them rate yourself on other accounts, people have tons of different alias and use proxies and fake Ip addresses. The single rating to rate system doesn't help much and nick serve is not hard for tech guys to follow but average users find it hard to use the guide could use some serious help both for registration and nickserve.
2476  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bit instant - multiple payments in one location? on: February 01, 2013, 09:25:07 PM
yet another reason why bitinstant isn't great.
2477  Other / Beginners & Help / Beware off OTC. on: February 01, 2013, 08:55:04 PM
Problems with OTC to be aware off.

EDIT---   And the number one reason that bitcoin-otc sucks is that it is run by a bunch of fascist-- This is what happened to me. I joined did several trades with BCB, posted that I needed coins for paypal and was heckled to death by a bunch of assholes, then i had a user steal my name and rate me negative without trading with me, Then the user continued to boot me from the channel, finally I told him I was going to write a grievance against him for identity theft and slander and he banned me from the chat. This users name on otc is rbecker he is a CO and refuses to talk to me or unbann me, I am pretty sure he suffers from a case of infantile penis size. I have been to bitcoin court on at least 5 occasions to get a hearing about all this and have been unable to get one.  It is bullshit.

*When you first come into the room (if you can figure out how to get registered and authenticated) you will be approached my about 50 scammers.
* Using the site is difficult and seeing who is trust worthy is also difficult
*Even trusted sellers have negative feedback, the problem is anyone can rate anyone regardless if the have had transactions or not.
*You don't know who you are dealing with there are no identifiers in there so it could be a 12 year old or a 60 year old.
*If you don't use nick save (which is not easy to do imo) to save your name then someone else can take your name and pretend to be you.
*People rate on personality conflicts so if you are new and don't share the opinion of the feed they may ruin you reputation
*There are as many scammers as legit sellers
*The channel is full of spamming
*There are no clear guidelines for behavior in the channel
*Even sellers with good reputations may still rob you because they know they could deny new comer negative feedback
*The main way of getting coins is to pay with money pak. There are several problems with this payment method. First you have to go and get it which sucks if you live far from a green dot location, second there is a fee!! of five dollars, so if you only need 3 or 4 coins it adds to the cost considerably, third gas and time ware on you car (if you have a car). And for sellers of coins for money pak it can tie you to a felony crime. When money paks are stolen from green dot locations and the value of the card is over 1000 dollars the police get brought in. If you cash a stolen card or load it to your pay pal it could link you to a felony.
* Lots of tech guys on otc, so they are good at working the system
* Filled with lots of high school kids there is not a section for businesses people or trading only
*There is no place to do trades that are not anonymous
* There are lots of other reasons too feel free to add suggestions Thanks
2478  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Profitability of mining? on: February 01, 2013, 04:45:41 AM
I would say that mining is a waste of time and money. I think that mining ltc coins could be profitable. But the miners do a great service for btc so I am glad they are there and hope it stays worth it to them. Still not sure if it will change the rate of coin brought to market with the asics, but it would be great if they speed up the confirmation times
2479  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust No One on: February 01, 2013, 04:25:54 AM
I agree it is all about knowing who to trust. That is why I developed a way to verify customers for coins Grin
2480  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: January 31, 2013, 05:10:06 AM
Hi I am christopher north owner of northoutboards and the facebook page bitcoin friends. I sell salvaged pleasure boat parts on ebay and have been selling bitcoins for the last 2 1/2 months. I am signing up to this site to product source. I do not like the exchange and think that is just another bank. Bitcoin is supposed to be p2p not p2ex2p. I dont like the hassle and I dont like the fees. I have/had a local bitcoin vendor that was selling me coins but he got greedy on me. I sell an average of 40 to 50 coins a day right now but it has been growing faster and faster. I need coins from trusted suppliers. I am an open book anything you want to know about me just ask. On my page bitcoin friends I uploaded my picture ID so you can see that it is me. I really am not into games or scamming or any other bs I just want to grow my business and the community. The main reason that I got into bitcoins is to undermine the banking sector and defund the government. Thanks for reading my post and let me know what yow think any advice would be greatly appreciated.
