Looks like bter is accepting CNY deposits although Im not sure what the deposit screen said before it now says that RMB recharge mode is fixed and gives an address of bters bank. Strange ehy, getting an account just before the 'immenent' shutdown...

Still vulnerable.
We are investigating this issue and have temporarily disabled login for existing users, the registration of new accounts and virtual currency withdrawals. These measures are "just in case" temporary measures while we wait for our DDoS mitigation service provider to fix this issue. Our backend was already patched. Thanks for the update Hazek, keep us informed when Cloudfare get back to you and services are resumed. We are not with Cloudflare, our DDoS mitigation is provided by Incapsula. Noted, thanks.

Hazek has addressed Bitstamps vunerability in the Bistamp thread.
In summary he says that the reason they come up as vunerable is most likely due to their anti DDoS provider as they have patched their back end. Logins as well as withdraws disabled until they confirm.
Could you link to the posting? Thanks No problem https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38711.msg6123492#msg6123492

Can anyone explain the thinking with new receive tab? I much prefer just generating a new address and then maybe adding a label. With the new tab you request a payment and that generates an address, the only way to distinguish between addresses is by an almost compulsory label (due to not seeing the address itself) why the change?
Did it become any more difficult? You can (optionally) enter a label then click "Request payment". The new address is immediately shown in the window that appears. You can quickly copy the address with the "Copy address" button. It is also still perfectly possible to create new addresses the old way in the receiving addresses window, if you insist on doing that. Thanks for replying. My point was not about difficulty it was about the thinking behind the change, yes the label is optional but there is no way to quickly distinguish between addresses (without clicking them) without a label. There isn't, as far as I can see, a way to do it the old way? I would consider the old way creating an address and then having those listed in the receiving tab with the address visible. From what I can see with the new release there is no way to have the address visible and thus my question.

Sorry if this seems random but has the wallet issue been solved where you were unable to send large amounts of coins? I had an issue when I used quark some time ago that wouldnt let me send large amounts and I believe this was a known issue. I had to split the transaction into ever decreasing amounts.
Have you downloaded the newest version? www.reddit.com/r/quarkcoin at the left upper side are the most updated quark wallet. The newest version is 0.8.3.20 No I haven't, I havent owned Quarks off exchange for a few months. I was wondering if this bug was fixed, I take it the new update addressed this?

Can anyone comment on the recent SSL bug. Other exchanges are either not affected or have implemented fixes. Bitstamp is still showing as vunerable on http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/#bitstamp.comI dont want to log on until this is fixed.

If this ssl vulnerablility has been a problem since 2011, why should we be worried now? are hackers targeting every site?
It depends if Perfect-Forward Security was used, if it wasn't then yeah were in the shit. If it was used then the sessions from before a private key is stolen are safe. There is also no knowing who and how many people knew about this and also which sites actually had heartbeat set up. Furthermore you dont know if anyone has actually stolen the private keys yet. 2FA enabled, like authenticator, would prevent any major damage to an account. Passwords best changed though. Some people in the bitfinex thread are saying that their 2FA was compromised as well and positions closed as well as other internal transactions. Hackers were unable to withdraw though. On that note Bitfinex have also fixed the vulnerability and are regenerting their ssl certs.

Yes thanks Bitfinex team it seems from some of the replies here that they black hats jumped on this as soon as it was announced. 2FA and email withdrawals have probably saved a few peoples skin.

still awaiting an official response from the bitfinex staff regarding this: http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/#bitfinex.comi also emailed support about the specific incident with my account. i'm missing out on profit (and took a loss!) because some hacker closed my position and tried to steal my funds According to that site Bitfinex is not affected....

Another thing to remember with the shutting down of the smaller Chinese exchanges is which banks were they using if at all? It is likely that the smaller exchanges relied heavily on 3rd party payment processors and so makes sense that they would have to shut down. The larger exchanges who are making alot of money for the banks and dont completely rely on 3rd party payment processors aer likely to be unaffected?

Another 1000 pages go by To be honest yes I think there is more greed than fear at the moment for sure, you have begun to fear yet many around you are just playing it cool and buying some more. I also think that greed in an asset that has sky rocketed like Bitcoin is going to be far more prevalent still.

The first person to panic wins if you get to buy back in lower.
This is true, first person to panic buy wins as well cause you get more coins for your mullah!

The bears really are struggling at the moment, every attempted dump is met with buying meaning the buyers are there just not jumping on the train prematurely but quietly accumalating from all the panickers and pigs.

Where do people get this retarded idea from that "Bitcoin is dead if it falls below price x".
Oh yeah, I know: from the same jumping-to-conclusions part of the brain that tells them "we never fell below the previous ATH, so it can't happen this time either"...
Because if people lose interest in something that already lost its value, you cant make it valuable again. Like before fancy shells were "money". You could gather some shells on the beach, and then trade it against bread, meat etc. But suddenly people did realise that shells have next to no value, so the lost interest to it. Same will happen to BTC. Because you can just go to the beach and get some BTC right
