Reason of this failure was that airdrop allowed exchanges and big BTC holders like ICONOMI or ICO projects to participate. Exchanges were not allowed, but actually they created non-exchange-looking BTC addresses for this purpose.
You're wrong there: exchanges were allowed to join the airdrop. What wasn't allowed, is an exchange user claiming airdrop from an address owned by the exchange. It does feel bad though to see the dumpers profit more than the holders, but that can still change in the future. Byteball is working on real life applications. That's a risk, but if it works, it will pay off.

This fucker has scammer written all over him. This dude actually said that he'll provide the wallet address AFTER he gains more trust and Investards. But he put 10 Bitcoin in escrow, so you can safely invest the minimum of 100 Bitcoin, right? No risk there, assuming you're very bad at math. Update : After reading the page http://www.bitmixcoin.io/faq.php I'm pretty sure about it either you copied content from the bitmixer or you are new owner of the service sold by previous owner to you or the service of bitmixer relaunched with a new name. BitMixer made a statement on this before: 2. We do not sell the domain name nor our software nor methods we used for mixing.
Which leaves just one option: they copied the content. I'm against plagiarism and fight it where I can. Plagiarism also deserves a perm ban on Bitcointalk. The page http://bitmixcoin.io/why.php is a piece of art: While copy/pasting verbatim, they didn't even bother to change the name BitMixer to their own. Let me archive that. we enjoy little trolls wearing our competitors signature, you may search in google, everybody copying everybody's FAQ. My signature has nothing to do with my post here. If you'd read some of my posts, you'd know I only joined this campaign days ago, and I've been posting my mind long before that. And yes, that includes towards ChipMixer. You can call me a troll all you want, that doesn't mean the facts I present are wrong. It only shows you know I'm right and have no arguments to counter it. "Everybody does it" is no excuse to violate copyright laws and break Bitcointalk rules. Or, as guitarplinker once put it: "I find it untrustworthy for individuals to plagiarize work, and even more untrustworthy for businesses to do the same. Because of this, I wouldn't trust [name removed] with any funds as it's extremely unprofessional for a business to engage in this sort of behavior." BitMixer's site has been copied since it exists, and all copies were made by scammers. Prove me wrong, sign a message: "Hi LoyceV this is BITMIXCOIN's 2000 Bitcoin wallet on September 21, 2017". Feel free to send this to me in a PM, I won't expose your signature but I'll post the results here if you did. Escrowing 10 Bitcoin proves you own 10 Bitcoin, not 2000. I have a question for all is there any guarantee of any well reputed mixing service that it will not scam in future?
The best guarantee is if they earn a lot of money without scamming, like BitMixer did. They must have earned thousands of Bitcoins. Apart from that, you can never be sure. Many people scam even without being anonymous. But hey, read guitarplinker's quote above.

You need my private keys to do a double spend.
Needless to say: don't give your private keys to anybody unless you would trust him in real life with cash money too!

please god someone tell me there is a way to get my session back after I destroyed it. or anything I can do....
I sent over 8 coins, mixed them. Pulled off the import to electrum info imported but completely forgot to broadcast the transaction. I copied over the session token to check my betting provs tomorrow... then deleted the session, is there anything I can do... omg
Is there anyway to see things I've recently copied in windows somewhere besides the most recent?
The bold part is unclear to me: did you import the private keys into Electrum? If so, you should still have them saved within your Electrum wallet. Deleting the session is meant to remove all traces of your private keys from ChipMixer's server. That can't be recovered on their side, otherwise it wouldn't be very secure. I'm no expert on Windows, but the more you use your current computer, the less likely it becomes to recover anything.

This is an unfortunate side effect of more and more coins using the same address format. Bittrex gives a very clear warning when depositing: I acknowledge the following information: By depositing tokens to this address, you agree to our deposit recovery policy. Depositing tokens to this address other than BCC may result in your funds being lost. Depositing tokens to this address other than BCC will result in your funds being lost. They require a minimum value of $5000 and a 0.1 BTC fee. I don't get the reason for the minimum value though, if someone is willing to pay 0.1 BTC to recover a lower amount, Bittrex has the same amount of work and gets the same payment. Long term, I'm curious to see if they ever collect all these coins for themselves. All together, it piles up to an ever increasing amount.

That article cites the FT as a source without giving a link for reference, I'd like to see the original piece The original article: Wealthy borrowers use home loans to bet on stock market: One broker said a mortgage-free homeowner with a house valued at £10m had taken out a fixed-rate loan of just under £2m to buy bitcoin This doesn't sound like it's common practice, just an extreme example of what one person did. In the Netherlands, people have been using mortgages to invest in the stock market for decades. Bitcoin goes up faster than stock, so it's the next logical step. Given a large enough number of people, it becomes very likely that some of them do a certain thing. This is just one of the risk of very cheap debt. How nice would it be to turn that £2m into another £10m? If you would have done this just a year ago, you'd be looking at even more than £10m now. As long as it's the wealthy people who do this, and they can afford to lose their investment, I see no down side. It's good for Bitcoin's growth too. The risk is indeed if people start investing money they can't afford to lose. I sometimes feel like: "I wish I would have invested anything I have in Bitcoin at some point in past", which is a very risky thought if you extrapolate past price increases into the future. I can't afford to lose my savings in a stock (or Bitcoin) crash, which is the reason I'm slowly losing it to inflation on a savings account.

I go by post timings, so you should be fine there. Perfect! Accepted. (assuming you are fine with how I do things - let me know if you don't agree)
Thanks. From what I've seen, you're doing just fine as a campaign manager

Considering that you are both adding a post and removing another one at the same time with each bump, I don't think it would affect your post count at all.
Let me give an example. I start with Post Count 0. In Week 1 I post this: 1. Good post 2. Bump 3. Good post Total paid: 2 posts. Week 2, I start with Post Count 3. 4. Good post 5. Bump (I now delete my previous bump: Post Count is now 4 again, Post 4 becomes Post 3). Total paid: 0 posts! Out of 3 real posts one was not paid. My previous campaign manager solved this by checking post dates instead of post count. I don't mind if some posts are missed once in a while, but I'd like to know how it's counted (I might bump less if it matters).

If we keep it together - we cannot limit how much investment we receive - vouchers are important part of ChipMixer, we cannot stop issuing them when we have enough investment in the pool. And if there is too much investment, we pay more than we earn. And that is exactly pyramid-scheme. You could influence this by lowering (or increasing) the "interest" on vouchers, to discourage (or encourage) more investments. But it is still far from ideal. Any thoughts on the other suggestion I made before: automate chip production? I feel naked without signature :O
ChipMixer signature campaign is open :O I just saw it (before reading it in your post), and applied already

|
After I was in it for about 18 months, Rollin's signature campaign (ran by guitarplinker) ended. Since September 4th, I feel naked without a signature. It was a good moment for me to take a "crypto break", as at the same time several things came up IRL. I'm back now It doesn't feel right to advertise another gambling site, so I'd like to apply for ChipMixer. I've alpha-tested the site before it opened, this was the response I got: Thank you for very valuable feedback. Your review was the best so far. Username: LoyceV Post Count: 2189 (excluding this one) BTC Address: 1Paydays4YWcXghQjwPPQH4mk7y4mGFV14 (Balance: ) One question regarding post count: I often "bump" a thread. Obviously, that post doesn't count, as it's too short. But, the next week, when I bump again, I delete the first bump when I bump again. The new bump isn't counted, but removing my original bump lowers my Post Count. Am I right each bump effectively costs me 1 real post not being counted? Or do you account for this?
|
|
|
The only problem I see here is that it looks exactly like pyramid-scheme. All the accountability that ChipMixer is proud of - we do not keep your funds, we give private keys immediatly - is missing from this investment idea.
This is exactly what I thought when reading that proposal. I do like it, and it makes perfect sense, but it sounds very dodgy. It's better to keep an investment-option separate from the mixing part of the site.

Our bounty campaign offers everyone who registers to our email list, for free, 75 ATS tokens worth a minimum of $10. So... I got many emails about this, telling me the distribution ended. But: I didn't get anything! I signed up once, nobody else signed up from my IP, and I even referred 2 people (real! people).
|
|
|
Same here: many emails, no tokens. I call scam indeed, if this is how they get people to give them referrals for free.

quite amusing to see how these big tycoons use their words to manipulate markets in their favour.
If this is true, it is clear market manipulation. That's nothing new to Bitcoin, but normally the manipulating parties are anonymous. Now they're known! What is truely amazing though, is people dumping Bitcoin after a freaking banker tells them to! The whole idea of Bitcoin is against bankers, if you understand the smallest thing about Bitcoin, you'd know it doesn't matter one bit what a banker thinks about it. I stopped believing a word bankers say in 2008. Bankers' interests are opposite of my own personal interests.
