2501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Think Bitcoin Will Stay and also ethereum on: December 18, 2020, 07:14:27 PM
Yeah it is here to stay. But for how long? Nobody knows. It might not exists tomorrow or might become obsolete after few decades/centuries. What if a huge flaw has been found which can't be fixed? What if a better technology has been invented which solves all the current problems crypto currencies have? Remember, everything is replaceable one way or the other.

Bitcoin will stay and its not just about money its a new Technology future the banks have to accept bitcoin or they simply will be out of Business.
Oh yes, banks will eventually start accepting bitcoin, but in a centralized way. Smaller financial institution have already start doing that. Banks will catch up soon.
2502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways against BTC confiscation. on: December 18, 2020, 07:41:07 AM
There is no way other than not revealing that you have/hold crypto currencies. His coins got confiscated because he probably handed over his private keys or the police swept his house and found the private keys.
And yeah, he could say that he lost his keys or doesn't have them. Thing would have been harder for the police but they probably gave him a deal or something which the guy found reasonable.
2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What price point will retailers buy up to (today) and do retailers even matter? on: December 18, 2020, 07:36:34 AM
I am not sure who are the "retailers" over here. But lets talk about general people (i guess this will also apply to the "retailers" you are talking about). What price point they buy up to? I assume they buy whatever they can afford to lose. If someone is truly interested in buying bitcoin as a form of long term investment, they will start investing. They won't wait since they understand that the price may go up further and never go down. Even if they go down, most of them have the patience to hold them for longer.
And yes, their investment do matter and does affect the price in the market.
2504  Economy / Economics / Re: Cause of Covid Vaccine and it's Value on: December 17, 2020, 08:45:27 AM
They have their own reasons to be afraid of getting vaccinated. I mean, the trials don't show results of the long term affect. There is also that slight very very small chance of having some rare side effects that some people are scared that they might be the one affected by it. But I doubt anything bad is going to happen.
snip..

What do you think the price, is that reasonable? Can people buy at that price?

snip..
$40 is small money for some but for those who are poor it suffocates them.  I was convinced from the start that the emergence of a vaccine would only add to the huge profits for drug companies.  the government must immediately step in to overcome this so that there is no rebellion from residents who feel the cost of the vaccine is choking them..
I doubt all the countries will be using the same price. Those developing and 3rd world countries might get it for cheap. And yeah, those who can't afford it, the government will step in to help them.
2505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The dangers of buying bitcoin thru Paypal - real life example on: December 17, 2020, 08:35:11 AM
According to this reddit post by u/TheCoolDoc, his account gets banned by Paypal and then limited because of too much activity, buying/selling bitcoin in a week.

I let your read the rest of the story.

In any case though be reminded, "Not your keys, not your coins". So anytime this centralised services can either ban you or selectively close your account, and not good if you have some funds on it.
Not surprised at all. But looks like that guy was constantly selling and buying during dip and rise. I guess that is the reason why his account got banned, According to another user, he says that you are not allowed to use paypal as an exchange and trade over there to make profits. You were supposed to use paypal for buying and holding your coins. Not sure if they have those terms clearly mentioned on their site. Still a shit thing to lose your funds.
2506  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What I think every trader should do to stay in the green on: December 16, 2020, 09:22:06 PM
Well, no. I do not make any money on this website, so I wouldn't call it advertising. I genuinely think this is a helpful tool for all traders. I built it for my own use and now it's publicly open to anyone to use as well.
I thought I saw something about promoting Bybit exchange and how it was better in terms of fee. It had your referral link. Don't get me wrong though. I am not against using referral links and you deserve to earn something from your affiliate for your hard work Smiley. Indeed this is going to be helpful for a lot of people and you did the right thing sharing it with everyone.
Curious though, how are all the net profit from bybit almost double?
If you have seen a tool like this, please let me know, because I haven't found anything like this at all. Only for the forex market.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
I was talking about those demo account where you can simulate trading without risking anything and hence try out startegies.

You can change the win rate by changing the win rate in the input field.
I meant how do you determine that. But then got to know it's the same thing as win-loss ratio.
2507  Economy / Economics / Re: Im very interested of this predictions on: December 16, 2020, 04:34:34 PM

  Shocked Cool

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5283747.msg55431386#msg55431386
Lmao, so polo7 is your alt account. What is with you and your obsession with proving yourself right? You keep on saying bullshits and you expect people to believe you? What are you trying to do here? Shows users that you can predict the market properly and then ask for money and help them make *profit*?
Both your account has negative trust rating for running a ponzi, trying to start a new scheme?
2508  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What I think every trader should do to stay in the green on: December 16, 2020, 06:45:35 AM
So this is just a click bait title to advertise your site? I mean, if you would like to advertise your site, how about making a proper announcement thread? This will allow you users to create proper discussion with you. And aren't their already a lot of trade simulators out there? Is there something unique you are providing? Nonetheless, your simulation interface looks clean and easy to use. By the way, how do I set the win-rate? Just a guess or make some few trades before and based on that I place the value?
2509  Economy / Economics / Re: Fake COVID-19 vaccines....by Paying in Bitcoins on: December 16, 2020, 06:26:01 AM
-snip-

Quote
A recent report by Checkpoint Research has shown there has been an alarming increase in the amount of fake COVID-19 vaccines available on the dark web. Anybody, who is able to solve the mystery of the dark web, can order and purchase these fake vaccines...but by paying in bitcoins.

The concept of paying through bitcoins, and not traditional money has made tracking these transactions harder for the experts.

"When researchers communicated with one vendor, they offered to sell an unspecified Covid-19 vaccine for 0.01 BTC (around US$300), and claimed that 14 doses were required.

These fake vaccines are being sold in the name of leading pharmaceuticals and are being priced for nearly $250 and above. "The range of medicines advertised by these vendors is extensive, from ‘available coronavirus vaccine $250’ to ‘Say bye bye to COVID19=CHLOROQUINE PHOSPHATE’ to ‘Buy fast.CORONA-VIRUS VACCINE IS OUT NOW’, and we have no way of knowing whether these are genuine," the post reads.

https://www.wionews.com/world/fake-covid-19-vaccines-surge-on-dark-web-research-349804

Paying bitcoin for the covid-19 vaccine is really good if it is not a fake vaccine and hopefully the government will allow it so that people who want to buy the vaccine have options.

Also, be careful everyone and be observant to avoid the fake vaccine because for sure it has a detrimental effect on our health.
Lmao. Are people this dumb to buy vaccine off the dark market? Why would someone even think of buying vaccines from the dark web when they will be available soon and for even cheaper price. Doesn't matter if it is genuine or fake, you just don't buy it off the dark market! You don't even know what's that vaccine made of. If its fake (which is almost highly likely) then you might end up injecting yourself with something pestilential. They maybe real too and stolen from the lab samples. But, they still haven't been approved so you never know whats going to happen to you until it happens!
2510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: has bitcoin achieved its goal? on: December 15, 2020, 05:03:01 PM
Bitcoin has accomplished a lot over the last few years and deserves a lot of credit for it but has not achieved its goal yet.  Bitcoin is set to achieve global protection whereby everyone will accept its use in terms of payment methods and apply it to their business and transactions.
So where is it written that the ultimate goal of bitcoin is to achieve global protection? And protection from what? I haven't seen anywhere that bitcoin must be used as the payment method and has to be applied to business transactions. Yeah, it was created to make a trustless payment system without involving third parties.
Unfortunately, at the current state it is almost impossible since there are many problems that needs to be addressed first. Fortunately, various solutions are being forwarded to solve the problems.
2511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this even normal? on: December 15, 2020, 08:20:37 AM
Yeah that is completely normal. This is how those bounty programs scam their participants. So this isn't a new thing. I have seen numerous thread and people complaining how those project managers completely stops communicating with their users at the end of the program. Only few gets paid while the rest are told they broke rules and everything.
So high chance you are going to get scammed by them. Since they said they will make the distribution after 42 hours, wait and see. If they don't, I doubt you can do anything.
2512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adult companies and bitcoin? on: December 15, 2020, 07:07:56 AM
Regarding the recent update of pornhub. That demands users not to re-upload porn and left some users and investors checking which side of the adult sites will be profitable. VISA and Mastercard stopped their contract with porn hub for reasons I don't know much about. But recently Pornhub integrated bitcoin as their payment method. https://ibb.co/fNCL98R and I ask it could be sooner or later until other porn sites or companies take steps like pornhub did. What do you think will happen to cryptocurrency? this can bring a bull run into the market?
I have read somewhere it all started last year when a video of a minor that was posted in pornhub. The minor went missing for months and someone eventually found out the video and informed it to their parents. Its not only this. There seems to be claims of abusive and rape videos that has millions of views. VISA and mastercard has perfect reason to not  support platforms like pornhub where they don't take any responsibility. I remember reading today that they started removing like most of the contents from their site.
Feels disgusting to see how some people thinks that this is a joke though. And no, pornhub accepting crypto won't make a new bull run.
2513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many old coins are dead and abandoned by the developer, WHY? on: December 12, 2020, 03:25:29 PM
What do you expect from those shit coins? They don't have any real use case. Most of them are straight clones or aren't much different from the current well know crypto currencies. They don't offer solution to any of the current problems that exists with crypto currencies. Those that have potential aren't being developed properly and hence the community loses their interest which eventually causes the developers to abandon the project. These are just like 10% of those coins. Rest of the 90% were made to scam people.
2514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptopia Claim without KYC on: December 12, 2020, 02:40:41 PM
Many of us signed up for Cryptopia knowing there was no need for kyc. Identification was only required if fiat was trade.
Why are id documents required for any account now, even if they have no fiat currency?
Once they have verified via email, control questions, user and password, that I am the legitimate owner of an account that does not contain fiat money, why ask me for more documents?
They probably were able to do so because they weren't required legally before. Maybe a new state law that requires them to verify the details of all their users even if they aren't dealing with fiat currency. This will eventually happen with almost all exchanges if they want to legally be in business. Your only option is to go for trusted p2p transactions.
Oh and don't forget. You have already agreed to their terms of service. I am sure somewhere its written that they can bring changes to the terms anytime without any notice. Most business/companies do notify their users though before the terms are made effective.
2515  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin accepted for My business on: December 12, 2020, 08:26:55 AM
I want to introduce the payment with Bitcoin for clients who request it.
the business is a physiotherapy clinic in Madrid, Spain.
Could do it? I imagine it would be the first in my sector in Madrid.

https://www.purafisioterapia.com/
Yeah, you can do it. But don't just limit your options to bitcoin only. Add other altcoins too (if you are willing to risk holding or aren't directly accepting it). If you don't want to directly accepting bitcoin, you can use third party integration like coingate. They will accept crypto currencies on your behalf and you can directly receive fiat payment. You can also choose to keep those coins that you receive. The fee is reasonable.
Accepting bitcoin does have some drawbacks when it comes to wait time and fee. You can use lightning network but like TGD said, its going to be a bit complicated.
2516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A friendly reminder on: December 12, 2020, 07:51:53 AM
Bitcoin is already becoming too costly to afford just one in under developing countries. In my country to afford one bitcoin, you should be having around 9-10million Naira, this figure isn't statics as the fiat market is constantly losing value against the USD due to inflation and under productive ongoing in the country leading the economy to recession. The funds to afford bitcoin is not an easy money for the average nigerian and if they where to shuffle between saving and living off their salary, it'll take more than 5-10years to own one Bitcoin.

-snip-
Why do people assume that in order to make any investment in bitcoin, they will have to own a one whole bitcoin. And since the price has increased from before they can no longer afford it. No it's not like this. You don't have to own one bitcoin to start your investment. You can always own fractions of a coin. Invest $1 or $100, you can will still be able to buy some coins that can give you profit. You can buy 1 satoshi for less than few cents and say that you own bitcoin. Still want to own whole coins instead of fractions? Then go invest in altcoins.
2517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will never replace fiat cash. on: December 12, 2020, 07:39:43 AM
It was never meant to. I don't know why there are people out there that thinks it will replace the fiat cash system. Look at all the current issues bitcoin and most of the crypto currencies have. Those needed to be addressed first. Once solutions to those problems (high fee and wait time during network congestion and so on) are found, there is still no guarantee that it will replace the fiat system. More likely will be used parallelly.
Curious, what do mean by coins that will be mint/mined at the same time? How does this work?
2518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Active Crypto Scams? on: December 11, 2020, 09:17:47 PM
Hey all, what are some examples of some active crypto scams right now?

The biggest one I know of at the moment is Smartway Forsage. It's a decentralized ponzi scheme that exists on Ethereum.

Are there any bigger ones active right now?
There are a lot. All those ponzi schemes have been here for a very long time. Haven't heard of this Smartway Forsage ponzi scheme. How does a decentralized ponzi scheme actually works? Since its decentralized who takes all those profits during the exit?
Anyways, in case you doubt any service that might be a scam, just google "[what you think is a scam] scam bitcointalk" and you will be able to see if people are suspecting them or not. If you can't find anything, just open a thread over here and ask for peoples opinion.
2519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin at risk of regulation? on: December 11, 2020, 09:04:09 PM
If you want bitcoin to go mainstream, then this regulation is inevitable. I doubt the government from any country in the world would allow free access (that is without regulation) of crypto currencies. I know some people might say it is just the government that wants to control everything. Part of it is true, but then it would be stupid to deny that keep it unregulated would keep things normal. Just too many risks that can be avoided with regulation.
So yeah, bitcoin is at the risk of regulation, but there are both good side and the dark side to it.
2520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency on: December 11, 2020, 04:32:42 PM
Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency and it will still maintain it decentralized digital currency?
Bitcoin at its current state being used as an official currency? Not going to happen. Anyone that says that it is possible is actually being delusional. Look at all the current problems bitcoin has. At this current stage, people aren't using it as a currency for regular transaction, let alone a nation. The fee and waiting time is what making people not to use it as a currency. Hence people find it more suitable to use it as a form of investment due to its store of value.
A country may eventually make their own centralized crypto currencies though. There is no denying to that.
