blockchain.info already does this. your keys are stored server side but encrypted/decrypted client side

Everything is down. What's happened again?

Nothing is down, looks like an issue with the .ST domain registrar.  Seems we're having terrible luck on all fronts lately.

http://eligi.us and mining.eligi.us are working.

On a side note, stats and performance issues have been resolved.

is the move from eligius.st to eligi.us temporary?
2504  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL 5/GHz "Jalapeno" order no. 116XX on: May 12, 2013, 03:48:42 PM
2.5 BTC with escrow.
2505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Slow confirms, solutions, discussion. Wide adoption on: May 12, 2013, 03:06:17 PM
the slow confirms is caused by spam transactions which clog up the unconfirmed list. block satoshidice and other "on the chain" gambling sites and the problem is solved.
2506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ASIC Miner Sellers - Why do they exist? on: May 12, 2013, 03:04:16 PM
you do realize the only reason they can get 1 BTC every 6 days is because BFL has only released a few of their ASIC, right?
2507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING! Bitcoin will soon block small transaction outputs on: May 12, 2013, 03:48:28 AM
Wow. It's the opposite. The market is smarter than any single human. It works like this:

"invisible hand of the market"

this is what libertarians actually believe.
2508  Other / Meta / Re: [NOT CONFIRMED] Bitcointalk users info leaked? on: May 12, 2013, 03:05:19 AM
checked my email registered with bitcointalk. nothing unsolicited in my inbox and nothing bitcoin related in my spam either.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What storage methods are resistant to hacking? on: May 12, 2013, 03:02:52 AM
Q1: What methods of storing bitcoins are resistant to any computer being hacked?
encrypted truecrypt volume. works for any storage device.

Q2: What other methods of storing bitcoins are resistant to just your own computer being owned & keylogged (but still dependent on trusting honesty and security of others)?
live cds. preferably signed so it can't be tampered with during download. it will also need to be up to date to prevent remote exploits.

i imagine that this will work for the first week but once it gets popular, it will magically stop paying out.

how did you acquire 1M xrp?
2513  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why Ripple™ is against everything Bitcoin on: May 11, 2013, 06:15:32 PM
MT gox charges a 1 % fee.  Ripple is not going to be a successful exchange while XRP remains as expensive as it is now or unless it takes less ripples to perform an exchange then it does now.  Maybe I am wrong but it looks like it is much more expensive when you factor all fees to exchange on Ripple as it is on the popular bitcoin exchanges.

Huh? Ripple transaction fees are negligible.

I thought you needed 200 xrp to send?  That is currently more then $2 plus any exchange fees.
200 is the minimum fee to have a open account.

I was offered $550 to say that "Ripple is a Scam."

I received an interesting message in my bitcointalk.org inbox today. It said that a user going by the name of 'TradeFortress' was paying forum members 5 BTC to edit their posts in this thread to say that, "Ripple is a scam."

2515  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Exact definition of POW on: May 11, 2013, 12:32:32 AM
The POW for a block is equal to 1/target.  Is there an exact way to calculate it?  Presumably, it is an integer division and so approximate.
floating point is approximate (rounding rules dependent on implementation and precision), integer division isn't.
2516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are these massive satoshi dice wins real? on: May 10, 2013, 11:32:22 PM
From last time I read how SatoshiDice works, I remember that it would be easy to win only if /both/ knowing the daily secret and also the transaction id were known before sending the bet. Can you know (or guess with certain accuracy) what will be transaction id before sending it through the network ?
if you were operating satoshidice, you could pretend to be a regular player. if you won, you would not make a profit. the same is true if you lost. however, making high risk bets like this creates hype and makes satoshi dice seem more popular. in addition, people who can't into probability will see the wins and think "hey this guy won, maybe i should play too!".

tl;dr: satoshidice can generate hype with minimal expense by playing their own game.

2518  Economy / Lending / Re: Guide to Reputation on: May 10, 2013, 11:20:39 PM
This will show you the one and only way to gain reputation in an anonymous online forum:

Step 1: Invest more way more time/effort and money than you could possibly scam.
Step 2: Done.

So, please don't ask for 200 mBtc Reputation loan and think you will be able to get a 2 BTC loan next time, because you have repaid the last one.

step 3: start a ponzi

100% shelved shares?? what gives?

You obviously stopped mining (hopped) at least 10M pool shares ago then.

Part of what makes CPPSRB hop proof.

I stopped mining because I needed to move my new rig to it's final location and had some problems with other issues and could not get back to it. However that being said, As soon as I reached .001 I started going backwards. Perhaps I do not understand CPPSRB and pool mining well enough yet, but over 7000 accepted and all of my shares go into shelf mode? This I do not understand at all, care to enlighten us noobs?

to be an escrow, you're supposed to be much more trustworthy than both parties. you literally joined yesterday. why should anyone trust you?

Now i accept Lytecoins
