Will the iOS screenshot teaser also be implemented on Android or is there always some interface differences?
They're already implemented on Android (you can log-out and check) Alright, i've iOS will check on someone else Android thanks. Any plans for a desktop version in the near future?

GetGems looks interesting, but from what I have seen there is no online version, and this is a mainly desktop forum. Unless I just can't find it, I don't think it would be a good match for the forum since it is only mobile.
I think either BitMessage or Telegram would be better suited.
Good point indeed, they mentioned on Twitter they are working on a web interface. Nonetheless i think the new forum should include these new messaging technologies.

the app looks not bad, but i have problems with inviting people. I tried it before the update and the person which installed the app, can choose a name to refer. After the update, there is no possibility to name a referrer and also the step, where you get your wallet (counterparty) passphrase is missing. How can i easily give a referrer name when a new person is installing getgems (or is it not possible anymore, if the person had already installed telegram?), i don't want to send invitations, i just want the option that the person can type a name to refer, after installing the app.
The referrer options provided by GetGems pre-fills your username into the link you send to your contact. https://api.getgems.org/r/?r=Daruhshie is what mine looks like. I presume you can just change it using your username and it should work. You can find your counterparty wallet pass phrase under settings > pass phrase recovery. Ok, but i am missing the option to just write the name of my invitant (as the (or some) version(s) before), when i am making a fresh installing of the app. You mean the program not shows anymore your passphrase in the beginning (when i making a fresh installing)? PS: There should be an overview of referall possibilites and fitting links etc... ( to the developers), not every interested person have time to read and search hours of hours, just to be sure that i'm doing it right. It now works via the invitation link where it is pre-filled as far as I know. Which makes it more convenient. You don't have to run after all your contacts to remind them to use your name during install, your name was registered when your contact downloaded the app via your invitation link.. Still buggy because none of my personally verified invites + installs did not get added to my referals. (bugg report submitted) During install a new pass phrase is auto created, it won''t be shown while you are in the middle of your install but your can find it in settings > pass phrase recovery once you finish your install. Ok thank you that makes it clearer, but i want the option back, where you can write your invitators name directly into the app, when i start it the first time. I am an oldy and don't want to adapt to invitation links (or facebook or twitter or whatever, i just want to use the messenger app in a old school way and only because i'm stuck in cryptos ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ). And where can i find a link to the referral options provided by getgems?Tap upper left where the drop down menu shows up and tap 'invite friends', there you can send them links through viber, whatsapp, Facebook, twitter and any other messaging app you have installed. There is also an option in the wallet section on the upper right with the puppet + icon which invites friends from telegram which you can just select which friends you want to chose and next to the puppet + icon is a Facebook messenger icon which you can select users from your friends list to send them invitation link. Inviting through 'invite friends' option with Facebook makes a status update on your Facebook profile and inviting through the Facebook messenger icon in 'wallet' lets you chose Facebook friends whom you want to invite. - Although i get the message not sent when inviting through the Facebook messenger icon in 'wallet'.

Show it in practice, works much much better. Easiest way of doing it is to do it with something they are already familiar with, get them the app GetGems messenger which is WhatsApp/Telegram like. Now tell them that now they can also send money like sending a text message as simple as typing 1 btc and pressing send, you can also make payments with it by scanning the QR code.
I did this to someone completely non tech and she liked it, since she was familiar with it like downloading app, instant messaging, whatsapp etc. I showed her in the app how 1 BTC is currently $244 and the thing she said after was of course 'how can i convert BTC to Dollar'. Then you can explain things such as exchanges and where they can buy it etc. Once she understands this whole Bitcoin/money thing. You can explain the more technical aspect, you need to dumb it down first and show it in practice first going into details.
So now i have her contact details through texting and introduced bitcoin to her. It's like a new way to get in touch with girls without having their phone number muaha.

Somone dumping again on Polinex, clearly one person trying to drag the price down or just the worst investor in Crypto. The fact is it's still only a handful of Bitcoin, drop in the ocean. I hope their efforts lead to nothing.
Sorry to say this but Polinex in my mind has always been about hardcore traders chasing and creating pumps and dumps, so not surprised it's happening there. The guys who hang there will buy Tittie coin if they can make a few Satoshi's, the latest pump there is clearly Monero.
wtf, which retarded fool does that now? Although people get the chance to average down or buy in cheap, i'll pick some.

This thread is in the “New forum software” section, right? Then, why don't we pick the IMs to include from scratch, rather than depend on choices made for a years old software?
Agreed.

When airdrop goes live then getgems has set a new benchmark in the instant messaging apps industry, this kind of progress should get coverage, because its based on a complete new, working, money based technology and you can cash out immediately, i mentioned the latter because there is quack messenger which rewards users with fiat but as someone mentioned they get their money after 30 - 90 days.
I think getgems is setting a standard on how instant messengers are going to evolve.
Yes, maybe a new standard based on the open source protocol Telegram provided. When is the airdrop going live again? I wonder how to cash out locally. With new standard i'm talking more on the financial aspect of getgems like bringing money into the game and rewarding users with this new money in interesting ways which all based on a new technology giving the devs more tools for customisation than fiat does, Telegram is not really revolutionary, but has made some legit improvements.

Current options are:
ICQ: This is your ICQ number.
AIM: This is your AOL Instant Messenger nickname.
MSN: Your MSN messenger email address.
YIM: This is your Yahoo! Instant Messenger nickname.
Most of these are so old, can we add a Crypto related Messenger to the list please? Most promising one is GetGems and has some active support at Bitcointalk. It works with usernames and at the same time it can be used with Telegram.
Instead of GetGems I prefer to use telegram, but I think it is not necessary to add (or change) another field. You can put your nickname/number in "other contact info". Here someone has made the same request but for telegram : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=977465.0I see i mentioned GetGems because it supports Bitcoin and is slowly catching on to the average user with being very simple to use so what better way to set its foot here and it would suite this forum well, better would be to delete some the existing once since nobody uses them anymore really and add newer technology IMs like GetGems / Telegram? That list definitly needs an update anyway.

Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. has agreed to provide New York-based startup Noble Markets with core technology to power a new marketplace aimed at allowing companies and institutional investors such as hedge funds to trade bitcoin and related digital-currency assets. According to a joint statement provided to The Wall Street Journal, Noble’s platform will use Nasdaq’s X-stream trading system, a high-tech system for matching market participants’ orders that is used by more than 30 exchanges and marketplaces worldwide. Nasdaq will also provide marketing support. More at : http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/301sqy/nasdaq_to_provide_trading_technology_for_bitcoin/Amazing news, This is going to be BIG. Cant wait to see how it effects the price. Although I dont really care abt the price. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) You must be very rich if money is no concern for you then! Anyway, back to the topic, these are big news indeed, with support like that I feel like big companies like Amazon or Valve would be closer to accepting bitcoin. And if that happen... well, domino effect is real! Imo as long as these big merchants sell bitcoins to usd through payment processors i don't see them adopting bitcoin making the price rise at all. Yes people buy bitcoin to pay but on the other side they get sold immediately.
