Okay if i don't claim the bch before the bch fork, would i still have access to the forked coin?
2522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockfolio Updated Itself? on: November 05, 2018, 06:16:20 AM
using iphone.  anyone have same issue?
2523  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Cash Fork? on: November 05, 2018, 06:15:12 AM
Okay.  I understand the private keys as it pertain to when you have btc and ppl go and claim bch and bitcoin gold.

So the bitcoin cash and gold that i never claimed yet... well its still there.  Thus i can claim it now or whenever.  But when bitcoin cash fork happens, does that mean i already have the private key for that?  The thing is if i claimed my bitcoin cash from electron cash and then send it to my nano ledger s or send it to coinbase/binance, i know i will get the fork coins.  But because i never claimed the bitcoin cash, then where would the fork coin for bitcoin cash be then?  Thus does that mean in the future, when i go and claim my bitcoin cash from electron cash... then i go and claim the forked coin from bitcoin cash right afterwards?  I guess i shouldn't use the word claim but own it.  But where would i claim the forked coin from bitcoin cash then from the fork?  Because is there a chance i do not get anything from bitcoin cash fork if i didn't claim my bitcoin cash from electron cash?  My wording might seem a bit confusing here.
2524  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Cash Fork? on: November 05, 2018, 04:52:49 AM
I like to add something else.

Does anyone know if i could claim bitcoin cash on a chromebook?  I have a computer that i do everything on... my main computer.  I also have a chromebook as well but thats for doing things like visiting websites that maybe sketchy, streaming websites... and watching porn.  So whether or not i have virus there, i don't have a clue.  But i know i could powerwash it... its a term thats like complete wipe of the computer.

The reason i ask this is because most ppl say don't download electron cash on the same device as your electrum.  I have very little btc in my electrum.  I sent those to my nano ledger s already.  So could i download linux on a chromebook... i read you could do this.  Then once i do this, then i download electron cash on it and claim my bitcoin cash... send the bitcoin cash to my nano ledger s... and that way everything is good?  Because i do not have access to a 2nd windows computer at the moment.  I only have 1 computer and i know many ppl say don't download electron cash on same computer as electrum.  But what if my electrum has very little to no btc?  As long as you download correct electron cash, there is no harm to your computer right?  Because this computer, i do have wallets stored on it and also... i use a program like lastpass and keepass for passwords so i wouldn't want to get hacked because obviously my email and passwords are in those programs.  Anyone have advice on this?  Had i knew there was going to be a fork like this, i would have claimed the bch in another windows computer a while back.  Now i dont have access to a 2nd computer.
2525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH just too off like a rocket on: November 05, 2018, 04:47:32 AM
So what would the forked coin be?

Also, what if you never claimed your bch from your wallet such as electrum?  Do you still get the fork coins or not?
I'm not sure though but it's better that you'll claim your bitcoin cash already using electron cash.

But before doing that, you should send your bitcoin elsewhere because putting your seed with electron cash is quite risk, you may not who's watching at the back end of that wallet.

My issue is i don't have a 2nd computer to claim the electron cash though.  Would it be fine using the same computer as electrum though?

The thing was i had no idea there was ever going to be a fork like this.
2526  Bitcoin / Electrum / Bitcoin Cash Fork? on: November 05, 2018, 04:42:53 AM
I heard this is going to be soon and i read that if you have bitcoin cash in coinbase or binance, you will get credit for it.  Now is there anyone here that still have not claimed their bitcoin cash from electrum?  I still have not.  Does anyone know if that means when the bitcoin cash fork comes... does that mean i do not get anything from the fork because i never claimed the bitcoin cash in the first place?

Thus those of you that claimed your bitcoin cash and held it and either keep it in a hardware wallet or an exchange, you should get something from the fork.  But what about those that never claimed bitcoin cash?  Would we still get it somehow or not?  Does that mean we have to claim our bitcoin cash soon then if we want to get something from the fork?
2527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Blockfolio Updated Itself? on: November 05, 2018, 04:38:20 AM
To anyone that use this program on their iphone, did anyone notice it updated itself?  It looks horrible.  But not only that, i notice that it doesn't seem to update correctly for each coin?  Example say you add coins like btc, litecoin and lisk and a whole bunch of other coins even if you don't own them.  Previously whenever you opened blockfolio, it would update the numbers for ever coin.  Now it seems like you have to click on each coin to see its current price?  That is ridiculous.

Anyone here have this issue and know how to fix this issue?  Any way to use the old blockfolio?

What is the purpose of this coin?  Isn't this a pump and dump coin?  If so, isn't it good for trading?
2532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The advantage of day trader on: October 19, 2018, 12:01:11 AM
Do you guys use blockfolio or programs that alert you when day trading?  What programs do ppl use this for this?  Example you want to know when a coin hits say 2 dollars when its 1.50.  I know blockfolio on phone you can set alert but what about the computer?
2533  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how much usd need for trade ?? on: October 19, 2018, 12:00:07 AM
whats a good amount to start with if you want to test it out where the amount is not too tiny.  Like 100 or 500 or 1000?
2534  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Good day for arbitraging on: October 18, 2018, 11:59:35 PM
Wasn't this like last time when btc prices were pretty big between coinbase and exchanges like binance and bittrex?  Thus it all has to do with tether usd value?
2535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Create a Waves Platform Wallet.Lease your Tokens and get Rewarded.Trade on DEX. on: October 15, 2018, 03:16:40 PM
greenmatrix, i have had my waves leased in your wallet for a long time.  I keep it in the old waves wallet via chrome.  If i transfer the waves to the new waves wallet, i dont have to do anything right?

now what if i transfer my waves to the nano ledger s.  Would i still get everything as it is or would i have to lease again?  Also what about those airdrops and other things that i receive just for having waves in my wallet.  I know most of those are fake coins anyway.  Does keeping it in nano ledger mean i don't get it?  But i believe if you use ledger s, you still have to use it with either the old waves wallet or new waves wallet?
2536  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Keep All Coins in Hardware Wallet vs Separating Some in Exchanges/Other Wallets on: October 14, 2018, 01:10:12 AM
I know people have a nano ledger s or hardware wallet like trezor if they have btc.  Now if you have bitcoin, i know you should keep it in hardware wallet for safety.  Now what i like to know is if your are a holder and not trader, ,should you ever keep any coins in an exchange or that coin's own wallet if you already have a nano ledger s?  I read that it now supports a lot of coins which back then it did not support.  I recalled watching a video where they talked about bitcoin safety and one person on cnbc mentioned you should not keep everything in one place.  However, he said something like have a trezor and said how if you keep coins in an exchange, keep it in several so if one gets hacked or whatnot, you only lose 20 percent of what you have as oppose to everything.   That makes sense but why wouldn't he suggest either put it in hardware wallet or a wallet specifically for that coin?  I assume he means if you do trading right.

Now let say you do trading and daytrade.  If you do that, then aren't a good portion of your btc or altcoin going to be on an exchange?  And let say you use bittrex and binance.  Well isn't that pretty safe already because those are the top exchanges out there?  But if someone trades full time and keeps all their coins in an exchange, you can't really blame them right?  I can't imagine someone transferring their coins everyday from their bittrex or binance account and then back to their nano ledger s when they are done trading.  Only to send it back to the exchange the next day.  Obviously this person could have a good amount of coins in their nano ledger s and smaller portion in the exchange.  But thoughts on this?

Now if the nano ledger supports a coin you have and you do not trade this coin and basically hold it, is it 100% foolish to keep it in that wallet as oppose to the nano ledger s?  Example coins like coss and funfair... i don't have these coins but wanted to list a few of them.  If you are not trading it and holding it in its own wallet such as COSS Wallet or Funfair Wallet,  you should 100% send it to your nano ledger s and store it there?  If you do it there, you basically are storing everything in that nano ledger s you have.  But that is still better than its own wallet right?

But what if that wallet gives you rewards etc.  Do you still get them putting it in nano ledger s as oppose to that wallet.  I believe certain coins if you keep it in wallet you get airdrops?

Now what about this?  In that cnbc segment i saw, that person mentioned how you could have a few trezors... so imagine like buying 2 or 3 nano ledger s.  Does anyone here do this or recommend it?  Because if you do that, well you have a percentage of your coins in each device as oppose to everything on one device.  I imagine the only reason to do this would be if you have more than 18 altcoins or whatever is the max nano ledger s allows?  How many coins does it even allow now?  But the negative would be you have to have more 24 word seeds.  But do people who have a lot of cryptocurrency own more than 1 of these?  Is it even smart to do that?

So curious what people here say.  Obviously it depends on if you are holder or a trader who trades few times and of course daytrader.
2537  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Nano Ledger S Compatibility with Altcoins on: October 14, 2018, 12:54:56 AM
So i haven't used my nano ledger s for quite a bit. I noticed recently that the nano ledger s supports many altcoins now where it didn't use to back then.  Back then i had altcoins but didn't send it to nano ledger s because they didn't support it.

But now, it seems like it supports a huge list... how did this happen?  Was it recent or how long ago?  I knew the nano ledger s supported more altcoins than most hardware wallets but back then i thought, well certain coins i want it still doesn't support.

As of now, you could store up to 18 altcoins in one nano ledger s device is that correct?

So say you have altcoins that are in an exchange or your own wallet, let say coss and funfair... i don't have these altcoins, i just looked the list of coins that nano ledger s supports and saw these 2 coins as these were 2 coins i thought about buying but never did.  So say i buy these 2 altcoins in an exchange.  I could keep it there or move them to nano ledger s.  So i have to download both of these wallets on the nano ledger s correct?  Then send them from exchange to the nano ledger s?  Now here is what im a bit confused.  I use nano ledger s with chrome app as i have not downloaded ledgerlive yet.  But -when i download ledgerlive, i notice that many altcoins don't work with ledgerlive.  So does that mean i have to use the chrome app with those other altcoins like coss and funfair?  Because it seem like ledgerlive is only compatible with a limited amount of coins only from looking at the list?  So that mean with btc, i use ledgerlive... but with other coins, i have to use the chrome app?  However what confuses me is people say they will close the chrome store.  So if they do that, then how you use those other altcoins.

Also i thought about something else.  Isn't it better to maybe store your altcoins in an exchange or different exchange so you have lesser risk?  But of course if you keep everything in the nano ledger s, it should be safe.  And exchanges are not that safe but im talking about like bittrex and binance.  But to those of you who have a nano ledger s, do you basically keep all your coins in it rather than keep it in exchange assuming you are not trading?  Obviously if you are trading daily, that would be foolish because you would be paying fees to keep transferring funfair or coss or any altcoin you have from wallet to exchange account daily.

But if you are holding, should you 100% send every coin you have to your nano ledger s?  Example say you have a waves wallet and keep waves there.  I assume no point of keeping it there and just send it to nano ledger?

can you explain what you mean with your post?  Are you using the new waves wallet?  Im still using old waves wallet from chrome store etc.
