Paul Pogba is back to Juve for FREE after being sold to Man United for 100 mil Euros, 6 years ago. Great piece of business from Juve I suppose. Pogba is still only 29 and is supposed to be in his prime. His performances have been on and off but it doesnt change the fact that he does have the quality and skills in him and could be an asset for the club.
I think Paul Pogba still has a lack of skills, that's why Man United did not renew the existing contract, Pogba must keep his spirits up to keep practicing at Juve and improve his skills after showing Pogba's skills at Juve, it's possible that he will succeed so that next season should pogba start to shine again.

Pogba lacks skills, I don't think so. He is talented enough, his extraordinary performance we have seen in the past. I would say he will be able to perform better if he works hard and practices. My guess is he doesn’t practice properly, which is why his performance is deteriorating day by day.

Barcelona should realize that now the stability of the club is more important for them to think about than looking for expensive players, if barcelona continues to force themselves to recruit expensive players then it will only worsen their financial condition later, barcelona should be able to do the same like this season, namely taking advantage of the existing squad and looking for some free players who will not burden their finances, even though this season Barcelona failed to win the trophy but in my opinion Xavi managed to get Barcelona back up and their become competitors in La Liga only with the existing players and I think they can do it again next season.
What we are missing is that if they end up with a bad team, just to save some money, and have bad results then they are going to not make enough money and can't pay their debt back. I get that spending a lot of money on expensive players is a bad idea when you have debt, but dropping your revenue that much is also a bad idea, I would prefer to spend 50 million and be in the same debt as not spending it but earn 50 million less revenue because I suck.
Barcelona needs to find that right balance where they are spending just enough, but earning more than that from the wins so that they would be making a profit. Not an easy thing to do, but quite possible.

I personally think it is quite hard to manage for Barcelona right now and it will be a lot better if they just stay away from making any type of big transfers right now. That is the only way they will be able to reduce all the debt that they have effectively. But during that time the results are not going to be good for Barcelona. And if they can take that they will be able to make a strong comeback. For now, I think they should not spend too much at all.

It is really shocking to see a player end his career at only 29 years of age. But in recent times we have seen a lot of players getting retired and coming back after a while. So, there is always a chance for that to happen. The reason that he has given for his retirement is not a good enough answer for the people in my opinion. Everyone starts to play a little badly after 30 years of age and that is not an excuse for a player to retire so early. Now they are going to have to find a replacement for him but I am at a loss here.
Maybe he'll produce beer or be the new advertising figure for Beeks Germany... i know that's cheeky, but he's often said that he likes a drink in the evening. In the last weeks it was so much and the Hinti-Cup was a trigger for the drama. Problems because of racism and the men behind it, who organised the tournament with Hinti... game over. Rumours about Julian Weigl getting louder, he probably won't stay in Portugal. Anyone for Frankfurt?

I think he obviously has something planned out. Otherwise honestly it does not make any sense why he will retire at only 29 years of age. I don't know anything about any beer company or any advertisement but I think he has plans. Really, 29 years of age is very young for any athlete to retire. I know that there had been some problems but I think they could have done something to overcome that.

Hinteregger ends his career with 29. The contract with Eintracht Frankfurt ends, and this comes from him personally. I thought by his last unofficial tournament and the negative rumors, but he probably no longer wants to play at the level. He could have played Champions League next season, but that's over now. He showed his face in many bars after winning the Europa League, the manager of Frankfurt didn't like that. So that means someone new has to come in the defense, but who?

It is really shocking to see a player end his career at only 29 years of age. But in recent times we have seen a lot of players getting retired and coming back after a while. If Spurs keep Kane and Son, then it's difficult for Gabriel Jesus... yes he'd have more chance at Arsenal. And really the difference between Spurs and Arsenal is very small, both London teams, both at a similar level... yes Arsenal may not have Champions League next season, but if you're signing a multi-year contract, there's every chance that next year Arsenal will be in the Champions League, and Spurs won't. I don't think it will make much difference given how close the two teams are, the main concern is surely playing time and how you fit into the existing team.

The quality of these two teams is almost the same. And we can't say for sure which team will be able to qualify for the Champions League next season. With Tottenham having two players like Son and Kane, it seems like a good decision for Jesus to join Arsenal. Because, I have doubts whether he will get a chance to play in the main squad if he stays with Tottenham. He will be a substitute for Kane or Son.

It is not Indian issue in every region or country parents want their kids have better education and information about related things, but mindset is completely different which is big issue in West mostly peoples enjoy and have spots in early age and after doing their stint they go to university for higher education as they have some money and enjoy their best part of life after this they are now free for doing things which are important in life but in India age factor is having big impact on life mostly parents want their kids take decision in early age and then surf their life for this which is completely wrong.

I have update about many players after enjoying their young age in sports or their beloved work, they complete study and have their future on way in positive way for this profession.

Honestly having people who are more educated is a lot more helpful for any country rather than having people who are good at a certain sport. And every parent wants their children to matter in the long run and that's why they want their children to be really educated.

Well.. I agree that everywhere in the world the parents expect their kids to get a job before it is too late. But in India, the pressure is quite extreme. Especially the boys are supposed to get a job, when they are 24-25 years of age. If they don't get a job by that time, then they will have difficulty in finding a suitable match. And in general, boys get married at the age of 26-27 in India (especially in the North). This means that there is hardly any time for any activity apart from studies. In the western nations this is not the case.

And another problem is in India you cannot get a job very easily. You have to know the right people and give them the right amount of money and only then you will be able to get a job. It is not in all cases but mostly this is what happens in India. So the young generation of India finds it really hard to get a job.

Right now Barcelona is a really weak team and I think we could say otherwise if they could bring Robert Lewandowski, but they obviously didn't do that, that is going to cost them. On the other hand, Real Madrid got Rüdiger.
So, I actually don't think it is going to be much of a competition between them and Real Madrid. I hope that it will not be as one-sided as it was the last season. That I am not going to be surprised if it is. It doesn't look like Barcelona is going to be able to get Robert Lewandowski.
Actually looks as fact with Barcelona really weakness team for next season after keep silent without any activities on window transfer, their rival Real Madrid have success got two potential player from Antonio Rüdiger as great defender from Chelsea with free transfer and new young star player Aurel Tchouameni from AS Monaco with 80 million euros and have clause bonuses option 20 million euros depending how brilliant performance from Aurel Tchouameni. Looks not really interested for next season between Barcelona as silent window transfer team right now than Real Madrid success building with star player composition.

Barcelona will have to stay quiet at least for two more transfer markets. Yes, I agreed they are not going to get a lot of success if they don't get any players. But I don't think they have any option other than waiting for the situation to get better. They are already in a lot of debt. And still, they are targeting players who will cost 50 or 60 million. I don't think they will eventually be able to get these players. It will be really interesting to see if they are able to have a good result in spite of having this kind of squad.
2528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 22, 2022, 10:24:45 PM
Sevilla centre-back Jules Kunde is a target for the Blaugrana squad to strengthen their defence, but Barcelona are finding it difficult to meet Sevilla's €60 million price tag for them to let go of this player. Once again they are hampered by their financial problems which are still struggling with it. This is the umpteenth time they have had trouble getting players due to financial factors.
I'm very funny seeing the current barcelona situation at now Grin ,they don't seem to realize that right now they are short of money but keep trying to buy players who have a high price tag, their failure to recruit Lewandowski should be a lesson for Barcelona to stop wasting time just to chase star players, with bad financial situation of course Jules Kunde will only be a dream for barcelona, because I think sevilla are aware if Jules Kunde also being targeted by other teams and making them certainly not willing to reduce the price of one of  their best players, apart from barcelona, chelsea is also very interested in Jules Kounde and chelsea which has more stable and stronger finances of course has a greater chance of getting Jules Kunde than barcelona.

Actually, I cannot blame them because they have to get better players if they want to win. So, it is okay for them to at least try to negotiate, and probably they will be able to get a good player which will be affordable.

But right now they are going for the players who have 50 or 60 million price tag on them. And I really don't believe that is the optimal way for Barcelona to manage money right now. If Barcelona thinks that they will be able to get instant success, I am going to say they are wrong and it will take time.

I hope that Milan don't have that much serious problem on making signings as you guys said. Because they really need to add some new players to their squad right now. They achieved the league title and it was wonderful. But the current squad may not be enough to repeat it again and to become successful in the Champions League also. By saying ''successful'' I mean that they should manage to get past the group stage without big problems at least. After that it's going to be up to them to move on to the upper stages. Their probability of making it would increase if they make the necessary signings.
I was also feeling in this way but right now nothing is sure what happening and how things are going in few leagues because few teams are already having financial issues and these are trying their best for avoiding this all like Barcelona in Spain and Milan in Italy.
It's all happening due to after shocks of Covid-19 hopefully things will be normal for them very quickly because they are defending champions, and they need to act few things very quickly for better results in next season otherwise they can face problems like Barcelona which coast them very badly, and now they are under huge debit which is having big impact on their market as well. I have one question if someone can give update I read AC Milan is one of most strong clubs in Europe then why they are right now struggling. I am asking in financial terms.

I think what the whole world have experienced in the last few years and what has happened in the whole football world overall will take a little time to get back to everything and have a normal life. In football, a lot of crazy things have happened. We all know what has happened to Barcelona and I think every time should take lessons from this and be careful that something like that never happens. Their situation is not that bad in my opinion but if they don't be careful it can prove to be a real financial problem for them in the future.

A busy day for Liverpool - Mane has completed his transfer to Bayern and it seems Minamino will soon follow him out of the club - he is leaving for Monaco.

I kinda hoped Mane wouldn't leave - he was great for us. After that I hoped we would get more money - which was hard considering he was in the last year of his contract and wanted a fresh challenge.
All in all - he'll be really hard to replace and is already a legend for the club in my book. Bayern is getting a great player in his prime.
I am also feeling bad for this transfer as he was doing an amazing job here, but this is his decision, and it's all about money which is surely had an impact on every player so if he is now receiving his desired amount it's good for him and his plans now Liverpool is going to have some changes in next season with the departure of Mane and arrival of Nunez.
Mohammad Salah is still their main striker but with the arrival of Nunez surely it's going to have some strength which was missing in last season and just because of this they fail to achieve their best results in Premier League and Champions League final.

There is no doubt with this transfer now Bayern Munich is going to more strong and having hopes for better results in Champions League in next season.

Mane probably might have stayed in Liverpool if they could win the Champions League. I have to say he was a great player for Liverpool and I also thought he probably would not leave. But now he has officially joined Munich and I hope he will be able to play as well as he did in Liverpool.

I wonder how Liverpool is going to change their tactics depending on the player not being on the team anymore. First of all, I cannot think of any player who will be able to replace him successfully. And even if they get a good player I don't think he will have the same chemistry with the team as he did.

We can play any sport at any place but sadly here in South Asia media play a vital role for spread of cricket so now its most popular game media never give any good intention to other sports like Soccer, Hockey, Tennis and Rugby, so we bounded with this cricket too much. Few years back we have places for these all games but sadly now as @Sithara007 mention we are living in concrete jungle which is killing nature beauty and now our kids are mostly enjoying with indoor games.

Sometime back we were fully enjoying with all outdoors activities but right now mostly peoples love to stay indoor specially in South Asia they have no good schedule like peoples have in European countries.
In childhood, we mostly group of six or seven guys able to enjoy cricket in very small place now just feeling this all in thoughts and dreams.

The comment about media is absolutely spot on. Media plays a really big role in this region and I believe the media is really obsessed with cricket because cricket generates the most amount of revenue in this region. And the kids are always watching great players from India saying cricket and making history and there also think themselves to become like one of them one day. But that is not the case for other sports in India. and this does not happen only in India. This is happening in this whole sea region.

Those were the day - when kids were sporty. They used to run to the streets to play. Now kids run to sofa or bed to play video games.
One of the reasons is parents are so protective about kids these days they don't want their kids to go out and play with other street boys and girls. NO beeta.. they are not good kids. You stay inside and watch TV and play your video game.
Indian parents can be very demanding and they don't value sports and other extracurricular activities. Most of them just want their kids to study all the time, and qualify for competitive examinations such as the UPSC. The schools also follow the same strategy. Each day, the kids spend 7-8 hours in the school surroundings. And when they reach home, there will be homework and other stuff which may take another 2-3 hours. In the end, there is hardly any time for any other activity. On top of that, in urban areas most of the families reside in apartment buildings where there is hardly any open playground. On top of that, the families don't interact with each other a lot and remain under their own shell.

In India most parents want their kids to study because if you have the knowledge you can do a lot of things. Only playing sports from a young age is not even going to give you the basics. And the kids in India also want to play and not study.

But at least that's what the parents in India always think. But things have changed now and if a kid is really good at cricket the parents generally don't say anything if they want to pursue a career playing cricket. But that is obviously not the same for other sports.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi did turned down a whooping €180m bid from Real Madrid last summer, for Kylian Mbappe. The president knew that the Frenchman will definitely played for the Parisians for next 3years to come. To me, I see Mbappe contract extension as a bribe to convinced him to stay in PSG because there's no how you would offer such a young player that type of contract which makes him incharge of sports projects in the team, also the highest earner in the team and Ligue 1 at large. I only hopes that it's not a big mistake Mbappe is making by extending his contract with the team for Money and betraying his country teammates and Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez.

Mbappe is a professional player. He will play for money. PSG is giving him more money as well as a lot of opportunities so he is keen to stay with PSG. We must respect his decision. Madrid fans probably wanted Mbappe to see Madrid. Since Mbappe has rejected Madrid's offer, they are angry. But we should not be angry. We should respect the decisions of all the players. At the end of the day he is a man, and he needs money and mental satisfaction.

It was in the hands of the Aussies with 184/4 and 5 runs per over required, while chasing 258. Australia are having a really tough time against the Sri Lankan spinners and the Lankans have identified that quite well, fielding 4 quality spinners into the squad. Still, I'd have never bet against the Aussies to chase that total down. A little reckless from the Aussies but overall, good bowling by the Sri Lankans.

The performance of the Australian batsmen was very poor. No other player has played better except Warner. Australia lost the fifth wicket for 189 runs in 35.5 overs. They needed only 69 runs to win in 14.1 overs. No batsman has played a big inning. Australia could have won this match if Maxwell had been able to play better. Sadly Australia has lost this series.

Barcelona are in a much weaker condition than Real Madrid financially now. This isn't everything for these teams to make it to the league title of course. Barcelona didn't have a better squad than Real Madrid last season but they still did a very impressive job thanks to Xavi. Now it seems like Barcelona aren't going to be able to add many new players to the team or to make many big signings. But it is still going to be up to them to close the gap with Real Madrid by performing much higher.

I still wonder how this Ajax team give out their top performing players at the end of every season and still regroup with a new squad and still maintain top flight level. It almost seems like this team is more of business minded than playing for silver wares.

Ajax is an outstanding team. Almost every season they sell the best players in their squad. However, this does not affect their team performance. They are a strong team in their own league, at the same time very stable. Their players are very confident. We can enjoy great gameplay from the Ajax team every season because the players are so confident.

Australia is going to lose the fourth match as usual. It is very embarrassing for Australia to lose a series against such an inexperienced team. Australia needs 27 runs from 14 balls to win. But Australia lost 8 wickets. Had an experienced batsman at the crease, Australia might have won. Pat Cummins is still at the crease, scoring 27 off 37 balls. The performance of Sri Lankan bowlers is excellent. Sri Lanka may win today too.
Sri Lankans inexperienced players are playing better than the well experienced Australian players. Now I think Australia was lucky to win the first match. They were going to loss that match too. Australia was in the front seat in today's match, but their batting lineup collapsed after the fall of 5th wicket. Finch, Marsh and Maxwell should have showed some responsibility. It won't be surprising if Australia loss the last ODI match as well.

Australia has lost three matches in a row. It was a completely unexpected outcome for us. I would not say that the Australian bowlers have played badly. The Australian bowlers performed well in almost every match. Australia has lost only because of poor batting. The performance of experienced players like Finch, Maxwell and Marsh in today's match was very poor.
2537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 21, 2022, 07:02:43 PM
Cricket seems to be a game of 3rd world countries - where young boys play it in streets and on road. In my country - a part from players there are two other boys who have to pick up wickets when the vehicle arrives and quickly puts it back to start the match again. Even then they grow up to become Imran Khan and Waseem Akram. What a life we live!
Maybe this is one of the reasons why cricket is so popular in South Asia. It can be played in narrow lanes and alleys. On the other hand, other sports such as football and field hockey requires a much larger space. In my childhood, we had some open space near our home and we used to play cricket there. But all those open spaces are gone now, replaced with concrete jungle. But still cricketing activity goes on, as the kids make use of whatever space that is available. Once in a while we get complaints of broken window panes or the ball hitting someone's head.. but apart from that everything is fine.  Grin

But that same thing can be said about football in this region. Football doesn't take either a lot of money or a lot of space so by that theory football should have been the most popular sport in this region but that is not the case.

I think it's just because people's tastes can vary because of different regions. The people of this region simply like cricket a lot. And you know that with football at least a good amount of open space is needed but with cricket that is not really necessary. So, that can be a reason why cricket is generally a lot more popular in this region.

Lautaro Martinez is a very crucial player for Inter now. They wouldn't like to let him go now easily. They are relying on his goals very much now and they don't have a better alternative than him in their hands as well. Maybe they are close to signing Lukaku on a loan deal but this may not mean that they would be more willing to sell Martinez. They would rather make use of this amazing duo like Conte did in the season they became the winners of the Serie A title. Tottenham will need to make an insane offer for him to increase their chance of signing him.
Among the greatest strikers from Argentina, he is quick, skillful, and a great goal scorer. As a scorer for Inter, Lautaro Martinez is frequently in my top 5 list with no 10 jersey. Next season they will not be qualified for the UCL, so moving to an upfront team would be ideal. However, it's unclear which club he will choose at the end of the season. Things will settle soon, we're running out of time. It has been rumored that Inter is ready to sell Lautaro Martinez if they receive a bid of €60 million. One of the biggest concerns is how they will handle the situation after selling the only best striker you have.

If Inter Milan decides to sell Lautaro Martinez, before they can find a suitable replacement, they are going to make a big mistake. Inter Milan, however, survived the title race until the end of the season. But their performance was not stable. Without Lautaro Martinez, their attacking lineup will be weaker. If Inter's attacking lineup will weak, it will be difficult for them to be in the top 4 of the table.

The 4th ODI between Sri Lanka and Australia resumes today. With a 2-1 lead, Sri Lanka is ready to create history in the fourth ODI. I am firmly convinced that the historical series will be won by the Lions today. There are many talented young players on their team. As a result of their confidence, they'll be outperformed world champions as well. I would like to watch a good Australian vs Sri Lanka match.

My guess is that today's Australia will win. They had lost the previous two matches. In the second match, Australia could not win even after batting for only 221 runs. And after giving a target of 292 runs in the third match, they lost. They may be able to identify their own weaknesses. Hopefully in today's match, they will solve their mistakes and win.
