2521  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why does a scammer have positive trust? on: October 14, 2015, 01:32:34 PM
Smells to me like episode 548: An Attempt to discredit Dooglus post from a certain -2024 trust member.

In the context of a year ago, Ponzi schemes that openly stated, like this one, the way in which they worked, i.e. later players ran the risk of losing their money to pay for the earlier players profits, were seen as a different animal to conventional ponzi scams that lied and said "We forex/arbitrage/whatever and you can make X% a day for ever".
Dooglus states this quite clearly in his feedback and it was the forum's acceptance of 'last in loses' type games that were upfront about it that led to the establishment of the "Investor Games" section.

Nothing to see here, just REVENGE.
2522  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CloudMining.website | Starting from 1 GHs @ 0.0008 BTC | Since November 2014 on: October 14, 2015, 12:29:46 PM
Oh, hello, GermanGiant/SpanishSoldier/RussianRaibow/Vitamin King/TheGeorge my edit
Hey, cryptodevil/tmfp/Puppet/jimmothy/MrTeal/Mabsark

Hi GG, how's the basement Ponzi crew?

Full disclosure (not that you'll believe me): I have one alt that has posted four times, never about cloud mining.
Transparency: Cryptodevil has given me a positive trust and we have swapped a handful of pm's. He likes the background work I did on Cryptory, BitcoinTrader, Esoteric Investments, PB, Cryptomine.io, Cloudthink, MMM clones and recently BitcoinNetwork.
All of which turned out to be failed scams, apart from BCN which is still raking in the moolah because of its MLM momentum.

Talking of full disclosure and transparency, that's where your beloved Cloudmining.website fails miserably in its attempt to be seen as anything but a probable ponzi.
The only evidence there is of it actually existing is a website and some blockchain transactions. Nothing else whatsoever.

Ironically, the thing that turns me from "probable" to "highly likely" is your dull and unimaginative shilling. I know you only have a little material to work with, Tx's and that laughable CMMonitor, but you are stereotypical of the way old skool scam shills work, repetitive, ad hominem and dogged.

CD has answered above why one "cloudminer" raises enough questions to be considered a likely scam and not others.

Incidentially, it seems to me that the Admins of CMW have recently probably had a basement policy meeting to try and increase the income from this rather dull ponzi.
Subjects started in Meta, posing as legit queries but actually just more half assed 'get the name out there as misunderstood' posting, and also the way in which just one member, legendary Dexter770221, has just recently started to report amazing increases in payments.
Not for a moment suggesting that he is part of your little band of alts/shills, but a clever way to attempt legitimacy, throw a few Sats at your most reputable 'investor'.
Fail for me though.
See you around.

 Grin

And welcome to AOL, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=317980  the latest member of the CM.website fan club/basement crew.
Recently activated 2014 newb account, with two posts so far, both about CMW, both in VK's long running shill thread

I did some research. It seems cloudmining.website is a profitable investment. For example, check - http://cmmonitor.com/24-cloudmining-website.html

Sound familiar?

AOL....Alex On Line?

small pot or big , it's a scam . always is

Did you happen to read any of this thread at all?  Basically I am asking people if they knew going into it, that they may not make their money back, and there was a trustworthy person holding the funds/playing the game.  Would they play?  Its a interesting game to try

If the site operator says something like "This is a game based on the Ponzi principle that later players' money pays earlier players' profits. The game will go on until new money coming in dries up, meaning the last players will lose"
then I personally, don't see a problem.

If the site operator says something like "We are a team of experts in Bitcoin since 2010 trading in Forex, arbitrage and cloudmining. We guarantee a 20% per week profit.... "
then I do see a problem.

Scamming is about lying. If you wouldn't trust people irl life who are probably lying, why would you send them your money just because BTC?
2525  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaign section? on: October 12, 2015, 09:04:57 PM
Yes I agree, it's a pretty unique and self contained subject that doesn't fit in Services very well.
You could also make it a rule for all sig campaigns that that's the only place you can post and get paid for too.
Well, you keep spam in its own can irl, don't you?

Hey! I've got an email from this website. Is it fake or something?

No 'something' about it.
Bad grammar and spelling, unrealistic amount, scammers aren't what they used to be.

MLM is a legal form of advertising, marketing.

I beg to differ.
Multi level marketing had its legitimate heyday a long time ago when it was the most cost effective way of setting up a bona fide sales and distribution network in pre WW2 America.
Since then it has become a parasite's paradise with the main focus on internal profiteering thru its recruiting and commission aspect, often with the actual goods or services that are offered just being an excuse for the referral structure.
Some of the biggest day to day scams in the world are MLM based and they have reached the same level as organised crime, in that the industry has become so rich off the back of the gullible that they can buy legislative influence and the best lawyers. See Amway.

Although Bitcoin is a medium which is a MLM scammers dream (see my sig), it in no way resembles affiliate marketing/pyramid schemes structurally.

WTF are you talking about. Bitcoin is a currency, how can it be a pyramid scheme when its a currency?

People voluntarly join and are not being duped for anything, the whole hype is done by other people , unaffiliated, that just want to get rich.

But other than that, in itself, bitcoin is just a medium of exchange.

It's like accusing the water of being guilty when somebody drowns it it
, please stop with this mad logic Smiley

You quoted me to disagree with, when we're saying the same thing....  Huh

2530  Other / Meta / Re: Just remove signatures already. As in delete, disable, gone. on: October 11, 2015, 04:24:40 PM
This forum needs the signature campaigns to remain so active.

I completely agree and I've said the same thing in the past.

Signature campaigns lead to more ad views which translates into more revenue for theymos. Ban the signature campaigns and views (aswell as posts) will drop (undoubtably by a huge amount) and ad revenue will suffer.

And that's 21stC Earth, ruled by the new Holy Trinity of Clicks, Ad Revenue and Zerocontent.
Embrace the horror.
2531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT an MLM kind of ponzi on: October 11, 2015, 03:48:57 PM
No free entry in MLM. But we can earn bitcoin in free time. Bitcoin is an investment and currency whereas MLM a cheating.

MLM is not cheating, dont confuse MLM with ponzi , its not.

MLM can be a good type of advertising, guess what Facebook is also MLM based, and it succeeded.

Bitcoin might be MLM but its not a ponzi.

You are talking out of your ass.

Oh, Yobit signature....that explains 270 crap posts in a month.
2532  Economy / Gambling / Re: Diggit.io | Over Dice? | Brand new game! | 800+ BTC Invested! | 1% Edge on: October 10, 2015, 11:06:54 PM
I found this from the Meta thread started by coldblooded and now the Scam Accusations thread from knightdk
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1204614.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1205470.0

Sorry to read about this, sounds like a good site gone sour for strange reasons....why would anyone neglect a popular, presumably profitable idea, even if they were rolling in BTC? More profitable to sell it than rob it?
Been hodling 400BTC since $16
From thebitcoinstrip  Shocked
Quote
The owner started as the second-largest investor with a 325 BTC share; user oldmate being the largest with 450 BTC.

Why would Cryptofuture put 80+% of his hodling into one pot and then neglect it?

Both Cryptofuture and oldmate make several references to being really busy with other stuff.
Apart from oldminer's review thread https://thebitcoinstrip.com/ (which also looks unmaintained) does anyone have an idea of what these other interests were?

If things just stopped completely now, no more payments, what sort of losses are you guys looking at?
2533  Other / Meta / Re: STOP SUPPORTING CRIMINALS AND SCAMMERS on: October 10, 2015, 10:13:54 PM

tldr:
Op tries moneypot, discovers game is rigged after losing $25
OP not happy
Unfortunately for MP and all of you,  I have the skills, experience, and knowledge to take MP offline for good and hopefully, with any luck (haha get it),  obtain their BTC private keys and rob them blind like they did to me.

OP tries Diggit.io, loses $12 when admin goes awol
OP not happy
I WILL FIND THESE TWO ASSHOLES OLDMATE AND CRYTPOSCAMMER AND MURDER THEIR ENTIRE FAMILY IN FRONT OF THEM AND THEN TORTURE AND MURDER THEM TOO.

OP decides 2+2=5 and decides it's all BITCOINTALK'S FAULT

contacting anyone on this worthless forum just leads to a bunch of nerds responding and no response from any actual support person who operates diggit......So you are just accelerating the inevitable,   the liquidation of bitcoin as a whole, and the end of this whole ridiculous crytpo fad.

Everyone should report Diggit to the US authorities.

Report bitcointalk too as they are complicit in this criminal operation.

Sympathy for your loss of ~$37, but isn't the reaction slightly ott?

<snip stuff>Those scammers are immediately tagged with -ve trust which becomes quite obvious and then their sites and the people themselves are no longer trusted<snip stuff>

Nobody has bothered to do this with Diggit.io, the main reason for OP's wrath, which is showing all the signs of being abandoned by its admin (and suffering major withdrawal problems) Cryptofuture (quite apt name, seeing as he appears to have been thinking ahead)  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=165520
and accomplice oldmate (another apt name for Diggit #1 Investor) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=401759
who apparently impressed one of our Hero members enough to inspire
"This person deserve my complete trust"
If you read the thread there's a few Heros who don't really look very heroic, in hindsight....
Funny world the gambling scene, lending in troll boxes; Satoshi would be proud.

Anyway, I have left negative for the two of them so far, only mine won't make much difference but should be done by DT member really.
If they have run off with the amounts talked about, they won't be selling the accounts or using them again but still, we got to show we care, don't we?
2534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you trade based off emotions? on: October 08, 2015, 08:17:28 PM
Of course I do. I trade based of greed, fear and hunches.

1) Hunch - tells me which direction the market will go.
2) Greed - makes me open a position that is too big. Also makes me hold on to a winning position about to turn bad when I should be selling it and moving on.
3) Fear - the fear that I will "loose everything" makes me close my losing position at the worst possible time.

Oh yes, I forgot anger, the most important emotion.

4) Anger - after my trade starts going south, if anger overcomes fear then I capitalize on this emotion to do Revenge Trades, where I use borrowed funds to double down on losing positions.

So, you'll be one of the poor side of the Soros' family then?

They turned out to be less than honest.
Someone should make a list of all of the cloudmining site scams

This is still a useful thread, not completely up to date, but certainly gives an idea about what to look for and how few 'legit' operations there ave been compared to scams

I think it's fair to chalk that up as a win for this forum, without us kicking their ass they would have stolen a lot more money.
2538  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happened to the site cloudthink.io? on: October 07, 2015, 11:31:58 AM
If I remember right , they was claiming that they got hacked , then after few days/weeks or something someone came to the forums selling their Database for 0.5 BTC and some people actually bought it because it's so big and since some people use same ID & pass for diferent website they got screwed on their Bitcointalk forums accounts & their social media website aswell .

No, you're thinking of Cloudminr.io.
CloudThink was an ambitious scam run by incompetents that started off selling cloud mining that wasn't cloud mining, then posed as a farm selling off S5's dirt cheap, then invented a vaperware machine called "Impersonator" or some such.
Burnt their seed money and ran away.
