2521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cambodia enacts new laws related to gambling. on: December 11, 2020, 08:18:28 AM
I always wondered by governments of some countries had a strict law when it comes to gambling. I understand it is because to "protect" they citizens, but aren't adult citizens capable of taking decision of their own. They are adults and they can take responsible decision. If they don't, they will have to face the consequences. Why do they need a government to control them? But then again, if no such laws existed, the people would blame the government for their destruction.
Good for Cambodia. The government is now realizing they can actually get more revenue from gambling by easing those laws related to gambling.
2522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week on: December 11, 2020, 08:09:07 AM
Hey folks,

I decided to quit smoking today and buy Bitcoin every Sunday. A pack of cigarettes I smoke is 8€. It cost me 56€ per week. So every Sunday, I will buy Bitcoin without checking if the price went up or down. Even if it goes to the moon, I will keep buying. I will edit this post frequently in the future. This Sunday I will start investing 56€ in Bitcoin every  Sunday. I will keep this doing as long as possible and let's see what is going to happen.

I believe that at least I will invest in something that I believe, instead of wasting money on unhealthy cigarettes. Maybe some of you can do the same.

Wish me luck Cool
Good for you! I hope you have enough will power and determination to focus on this goal of yours. This is actually going to help you quit since you now have a valid reason AND a distraction to stop smoking. Just don't stop investing after a week or so. I have heard if you are able to stop smoking for more than three weeks, you already lose all the urge for smoking. So good luck trying to resist yourself from smoking the next few weeks!
2523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proved it once again on: December 11, 2020, 07:40:57 AM
Prove what? It has been happening since day one. When price of bitcoin starts to rise, we see altcoins dropping. Probably because people wants to join the bitcoin bull run, so they dump their coins. After a while, the price of altcoins also start to rise. This is also because people who sold their altcoins now starts to buy it for cheap, hence altcoin slowly starts to rise back. When bitcoin starts to drop, altcoins also starts to drop more badly since most altcoins are traded in btc pairs.
2524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHO CAN SHUTDOWN BITCOIN? on: December 10, 2020, 09:59:29 PM
Okay guys, this question may have been asked before, was trying to locate a past thread but couldn't seems to get my search on this forum.

My question is: can bitcoin be shutdown by world government? And does bitcoin need bitcoin.org domain when calling its protocol or trying to get access to its network? Or what is the relationship between bitcoin.org and the survival of I bitcoin? Thanks

Hello , don't start abuses, I am currently defending that bitcoin can't be shutdown, while a discussant said it can be shutdown. I know  it' can't be. Just dropped this post here to backup my claim and argument. I know it requires shutting down all power and internet to be able to cause a damage. Which in any which is not possible.
No the governments around the world wouldn't be able to shutdown the government. I mean they would be able to do so if each and every government stops their people from connecting to the internet. Or maybe impose ban in such a way that if anyone gets caught using crypto currencies they would be given lifetime in prison. I mean insane stuffs lol. People would be mad and up rise against their government.
What I am trying to say that it is almost impossible. If it was actually possible, the government would have taken down torrenting of pirated stuffs long before.
2525  Economy / Economics / Re: Currencies worth less than Satoshi on: December 10, 2020, 09:55:38 PM
All those fiat currencies that you have mentioned has some very bad inflation history. I am sure the list is actually larger. This once again proves that how fragile the current fiat system is. Imaging how badly those inflation rates are hurting the economy of the country. Look at Venezuela. They had to replace their currency from VEF to VES to counter the hyperinflation. But trust me taking all those measures are worthless. Give few more decades and you will see those currencies collapsing too. I wouldn't be surprised if those countries starts to choose cryptocurrencies as their official currency.
2526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to transfer money to an exchange on: December 10, 2020, 07:34:23 AM
Like others said, there are if not exchanges, sites that accept credit card as a form of payment when buying bitcoin. I know you won't be getting the best price and have to pay a little more fee than usual, but if you don't have any other option, then do this. Though since bank transfers are not allowed to buy crypto currencies, I have a feeling your credit card might get frozen if the bank knows you are buying bitcoins with it. So you next option would be to buy crypto vouchers and redeem those. More absurd fee though.
Or you can always do p2p trading. Look for someone who is selling bitcoin.
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest 10 countries that gamble the most. on: December 09, 2020, 08:33:39 PM
Two different data but both of them are from 2017 according to the article. So I guess both charts visualize different data. The one from worldatlas shows ranking based on how much money per adult loses. But was a little disappointed (in a good way i mean lol) to see that adults in the country on top seems to be losing around $1,300. I guess it is an average for each adult per year. Was expecting it to be something more bigger in number lol. The other chart seems to shows how many people regularly gambles in a casino. Not surprised to see US in the top.
2528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone who have worked or currently working in casino? on: December 09, 2020, 06:59:53 PM
This one just came into my mind, since most gamblers are really losing money in a casino, I would like hear some advice from casino workers here on what to do as they are pretty much well expose to different scenario in a casino and probably know how to prevent getting ourselves in financial trouble.

Since we are anonymous here and your company would not know that you are the one who share that information here, please do so as this would create some exciting discussion. A worst scenario like a gambler losing a lot money or a gambler winning a lot of money.

Please share your experience.
Just make sure you don't "overdo" it. By overdo, I mean if you make profit, leave with it. Take a break and come back to gamble. If you make a loss, take a break and start fresh. I have seen users making some good profit in a session. Instead of stopping, they keeps on betting and loses everything. I have seen people making loss and then chasing those loss. To recover they start placing crazy bets out of frustration.
So yeah, gamble responsibly. Take breaks and place bets when you are at your best mood.
2529  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what successfull trading tips have worked with you so far ? on: December 09, 2020, 06:56:53 PM
Sorry, if you think you can keep on making profit without any loss then you are wrong over here. There is no "tip" or strategy that can help you make profits forever. Sure, you might make some good profit, but it won't continue forever. Eventually you will make some losses. This is how it all works. If there are tricks to make profits without loss, why would someone even share it with you? And if it was really possible, there would have been tons of rich people.
I would suggest you to follow those strategies which other users posted to minimize your loss.
2530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: December 09, 2020, 08:17:34 AM
There are many people who still don't know about bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. I don't know about others I am talking about my country and about my society. Whenever I ask from people about or talk about the Bitcoin. They ask what is this?

How much there is who face this problem?
Not surprised at all. Blockchain is a new technology and still in its infant stage. Most people aren't interested in "new technologies" until it goes main stream. Some of them might heard of it, but didn't pay much attention to it. Others think its a scam and eventually forget about it. At least over here, most of the people know what bitcoin is since there are bitcoin ATMs in most of the downtown areas, and people are curious as to what it is and eventually learns about it.
2531  Other / Archival / Re: Do i need a license if i want to create a crypto gambling site? on: December 09, 2020, 08:12:42 AM
-snip-
License is a legal basis for you to consider, gamblers much appreciate that if they see it. A sort of encouragement, they'll think that they are secure and you as well.
-snip-
The license is not for pleasing their users. It is for operating legally in a country. Can you legally run a business without a trade license? Nope. Your illegal business will be shut downed, you will be fined and may also have to serve a sentence of a year or two or even more depending on the severity of your case. Without a license the government won't be able to properly regulate the casino, hence they won't even know if you are paying the government properly or not.
And yeah, if its a regulated casino with a license, the users will also have a chance to enforce their rights when necessary.
2532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World Map of Bitcoin Legality on: December 08, 2020, 09:24:29 PM
The word unrestricted sounds kinda misleading over here. People might think its the same as unregulated and people have free access to it. But the legend keys says legal, which is the correct term. Being legal doesn't mean it is completely unrestricted. I would only use the term unrestricted if there who no restriction what so ever at all when using bitcoin like no regulation and full freedom.
I wonder if any of those countries that have made usage of bitcoin illegal has any explanation as to why it is illegal.
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japan becomes more friendly towards Gambling on: December 08, 2020, 09:17:10 PM
According to the recent reports Japan after realizing how the taxation on IR's can fail to attract foreign players removed the taxation on the gambling winnings in IRs. Now people can enjoy a more gambling friendly environment **particularly the foreigners**.
The government is working towards building the policies according to the international standards.
- full reforms will be announced on 10 December
- the citizens will still be taxed if their winnings exceed a certain amount

I do believe that this is a very positive thing, it will attract more people for sure and can even aid in post covid recovery.

https://www.gamblinginsider.com/news/10577/japans-irs-wont-tax-winnings-of-foreign-visitors

Share your thoughts?? Would things like this benefit other countries too?
So more friendly towards gambling for foreigners only? You see what Japan is doing over here? Attracting more foreign gamblers. Make foreign gamblers gamble while they visit their country (and get taxed in their home country. Some countries do have laws where you have to pay taxes no matter where you gamble), they lose everything to the casino and the government gets taxes from the casino (this time being able to claim more taxes from the gambling industry due to rise of foreign gamblers). Good move by the government to get more indirect revenue from foreigners.
Curious, how is it going to aid in post covid recovery?
2534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think Bankers and wall street dont like Bitcoin on: December 08, 2020, 08:35:43 PM
Of course the bankers don't like bitcoin. Not only bitcoin, they hate all those "decentralized" crypto currencies. But they do love cryptocurrencies that are centralized. They have their own reason for hating it though. If decentralized currencies become mainstream, the bankers are going to be in danger since people would no longer be in need of a centralized financial institution. Not sure why you think "wall street" hates bitcoin too.
Thats why they buy the most of Bitcoin once they get a lot I think they just crash it.
Or is it because they love bitcoin and sees a very good opportunity in making profit from it?
2535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lame use cases on: December 08, 2020, 08:45:29 AM
Is there a chance for food blockchain projects in crypto space? To me it feels ridiculous, why would a developer decide to build a food blockchain project when they can just implement popular coins as means of payment in their store, why creating tokens for this purpose? This is another example of junk use case in crypto space, I've seen many projects tried this years back and they all failed, simply because we don't need them I guess
No ideas are "ridiculous" if you do it right. It might feel ridiculous to you, but not to others. Think about general people centuries ago. For them flying (planes) might have been probably a ridiculous idea, but not for everyone. Decades ago, flying cars was a ridiculous idea. Is it now?
Lots of developers failed does not mean that the idea itself is "lame".  Maybe you should start trying implementing this and turn this "lame" idea to something real big?
2536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn from my curiosity on: December 08, 2020, 07:57:58 AM
Is this another way to promote your stobox token? lol.
And obviously it was a scam. Let me tell you one thing, at least around 90% of those defi tokens are going to be scam at one point. They are taking advantage of this crappy defi hype and sadly people are falling for it. At least you did your research about that token before investing in it. Other people doesn't even bother getting to know more about the token. All they see is that it's a defi token and they go all in with their money.
2537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone heard of lemmecoin? on: December 07, 2020, 08:43:36 PM
So a random guys sends you a message telling you to join a random exchange that you never heard of? I thought it was a coin at first hence the name lemmecoin. But then others are saying its an exchange. Should has named it lemmexchange... let me exchange lol.
Don't join that exchange. First of all they probably bulk bought peoples email data and now tryin to mass spam them so some people join and scam. And their site looks so generic. No effort used to make custom website. I can swear I have seen that exact design website somewhere before.
2538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A game called Ending on: December 05, 2020, 03:17:58 PM
Never heard of "Ending" game before, but sounds familiar. I mean, isn't this a form of sports betting since you have to predict the end score of the games? Almost all online sportsbook games allows users to place bet on score prediction. I have also seen payouts are given to users who predicts the closest. Nothing new.
But, based on one of the post above which links to another topic, it looks like it's something different than what you have explained. Not sure if it is the same thing you are talking about, but looks more complicated.
2539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Gamblers! What is your excuse to avoid a game with 0% House Edge? on: December 05, 2020, 02:06:51 PM
After running 4 years on Bitcoin blockchain, Chain-Bet.com has been re-written to run on Litecoin blockchain. It is a game that asks a simple question: What would be last digit of the block hash that includes your transaction? Players guess last digit of the block hash and bet on that. If the guess is correct, player gets back 16 times of the bet amount. As a promotional offer after our re-launch, the game is now operating at 0% House Edge.

But, since our relaunch on September 01, 2020, we have not seen similar enthusiasm like we experienced 4 years back. This is somewhat disappointing. A provably fair game with 4 years reputation offering 0% House Edge is rare in gambling industry.
I doubt no one (at least most of the players) care about the house edge of games that are "kind of unique". You should probably provide something more attractive to your players to promote your casino. Maybe deposit bonus or something?

-snip-
Instead of burning money for advertisement, we are giving it back to our gamblers through 0% House Edge. So, what is stopping you from wagering on this game like before?

Constructive criticism is welcome. Smiley
How would people know about your 0% House edge if you don't "burn" your money to advertise it? Proper promotion matters a lot. Try advertising about your casino on different appropriate platform. Get a proper userbase and then do those house edge promotions.
2540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government don't accept Bitcoin. on: December 05, 2020, 07:45:51 AM
Our country government don't accept bitcoin. If anyone use bitcoin and know it state police Caught him and give punishment. But i like bitcoin. How can i use it? And I want to explain that bitcoin is not bad for me. How can i successfully explain?
So using bitcoin is illegal in your country. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it even if you "like bitcoin". If you use it, you will be breaking the law and risk yourself of getting prosecuted. Even if you still do, make sure you don't convert it to fiat or link yourself in anyway. You will have to use P2P platforms to even by bitcoin.
Lol, they don't care if bitcoin is bad for you or not. I guess they think bitcoin is bad for "them", hence they banned the usage.
