2541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 61 year old plays the same numbers since 1991 and wins 18 millions on: August 27, 2021, 08:28:52 PM
Regardless of his patience and consistence over the last 30 years. It was still chance or luck that he won the lottery. If someone repeated the same strategy, there is a big chance, they wouldn't win that much in the lifetime. We just got to know about what he did in the last 30 years because he just won $18M. Imagine the dozens that have tried the same strategy over the years and won nothing. Would they announce their failure? Certainly not.
2542  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hacked account? "Donator" selling account under his/her own name? on: August 27, 2021, 07:45:26 PM
I was thinking...
Can it be some sort of payback? Maybe somebody who got negative feedback or arguments in the past may have hacked the password and instead of risking to change it decided to ruin the account? I mean, 1BTC is indeed an unrealistically high price. And somebody that old should know to not trade it like this.
It's possible, but then why would they feel so guilty and try to delete the text as soon as they realized it was a wrong move?
The account was also last online a few hours ago, and the owner seems to have no interest in trying to go defensive and reason out what could have probably gone wrong.

Anyway, regardless if it was hacked or not, the account can now not be trusted
2543  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has crypto cloud mining got market? on: August 27, 2021, 07:24:28 PM
In most cases, it's just a scam or a complete waste of time, sort of like a modified Ponzi scheme. When the number of people joining reduces, the whole thing collapses. Also, when the bull run end, everything falls apart. If you have some money, just invest into setting up something else that might be sustainable in the long run.
2544  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: vareole is a scammer ... on: August 26, 2021, 09:59:13 PM

uses javascript :/

can you take a screenshot, upload it and paste the link here?

thanks
It's basically just some information like IP address, device identifier, android version, user agent and location purportedly of Vareole. @monr0Anti doesn't mention anywhere how he got the information or how it connects to Vareole

I would have posted the screenshot, but I am not sure if it's also part of doxing.
2545  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WSOT Bybit 7 millions $ to grab on: August 26, 2021, 09:10:12 PM
Just today I managed to win a few NFTs  Grin

You think these NTFs will cost something?
Goddamn it! Lucky bastard  Cheesy

I haven't even collected a single NFT. It seems to only sort of favor newcomers who are yet to make deposits and complete KYC and those people who make referrals  Sad

Pre-registration allows to get a 20$ and a 50$ cash bonus.

I did not use the testnet. The competition is indeed starting August 28th.

A good simple strategy is to join a huge team because they are more likely to win since that for the Troop P&L portion of the event, it's the top 10 members of the team that count so the more members, the higher the chance of a higher top 10.
I already registered for the solo event. Is registering for both events a good idea?
2546  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hacked account? "Donator" selling account under his/her own name? on: August 26, 2021, 08:45:38 PM
It does. You can see it above the "Favorite profiles to send sMerit to". It only appears when a certain user changes his/her email/password at least once.

I refreshed the profile of the mentioned user in the OP, and there doesn't seem to be any sec/mod logs for any password or email changes, and from that, I highly doubt that the account changed hands nor hacked.
It only shows the password changes from the time the site started operating. Any changes before that won't show up in the security/mod log. It's also very likely that the account changed hand earlier on, maybe some time in 2016 or 2017. We can't rule out the hack possibility just yet.
2547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 25, 2021, 09:59:01 PM
Well Real Madrid probably could even afford him , thats almost triple amount of what they made this summer from selling their players. According to Transfermarkt, Real Madrid made around €78m this summer, mostly from selling Varane and Řdegaard. Anyway this is Real Madrid that we are talking about and if they want a player, most of the time they never back off
Real Madrid can afford him even at €225m because they have been selling and haven't spent much in a few transfer seasons and windows for a while, so I am pretty sure they have the financial back up right now, but spending that amount on Mbappe would be ridiculous. It would also put the player under lots of pressure as the most expensive player.

The only guy who withstood that pressure was CR7. If I were Real Madrid, I would just wait for 12 more months to get Mbappe.
2548  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for local transactions on: August 25, 2021, 09:36:03 PM
This is an old post from 2013. Who is still doing in-person cash transactions and how are you doing them? I have not done an in-person Bitcoin transaction before but I have P2P using Cryptolocally. They also offer a non-custodial escrow service for cash in person. Id be interested to know how you conduct in-person cash transferss now  Cheesy
People are still doing them through so many p2p trading platforms like localbitcoins and localcryptos that will act as their escrows, especially if they are from the same city. Let's say some want to buy Bitcoin in exchange for cash. If you are from the same city, you can open a trade and the Bitcoins go into an escrow. You go meet the person who then gives you the cash, and then you release the Bitcoins
2549  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: P2P Crypto Trading - Which Platform Do You Use & Why? on: August 25, 2021, 09:02:20 PM
Initially it was Localcryptos.com because they don't need one to carry out KYC yet, but the problem is liquidity and spread between the buyers and sellers is sometimes very huge.

Currently, I use Binance p2p since I already passed KYC verification on the site sometime back. The liquidity is good too. I abandoned localbitcoins because they were asking way too many questions in order for one to get verified as compared to other standard verification in other crypto exchanges.
2550  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT @Brand0n on: August 24, 2021, 08:42:31 PM
You don't just anyone on the internet like that. it's why we have escrow services around.

The person who scammed seems to be an active advertiser in Invited and account board o a newbie flag should be more than appropriate so that newbies and guests can see the warning before dealing with the user

You can support the flag I have just created - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2818
2551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 22, 2021, 09:56:40 PM
Although Chelsea won, they still need to fine tune their attack more. This way, they can get more goals with those attempts.
Think their attack is OK so long as the defense doesn't leak avoidable goals. They didn't win last year's Champion's League by mistake

Yep Arsenal's team wasn't impressive, but what was really great is that Lukaku directly scored and led Chelsea to the win. He wasn't even sent on the bench and played the full range. That guy is just physically fit as hell. He is going to rock the season without a doubt and he also has the right players surrounding him. Just check out the whole team today and check out the whole Chelsea bench, such a strong team.
Anybody who thought Arsenal was going to win this game must have been daydreaming. What I don't understand is how they are currently ranked as the highest spenders in the PL this transfer window, and yet all the players they bought don't seem to be big game players.

2552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 22, 2021, 09:41:03 PM
Real Madrid 1 - 2 Levante
Oh boy, that's incredibly sad, unexpected and shocking!
Ancelotti made 3 successive substitution to push the team to score, VJ +Rodrygo and Asensio, hopefully they will win this game...I was just saying that they are profiting from Barca draw...
It's 3-2 now thanks to a Vinícius Júnior equalizer and then a few moments later a third goal for Levante from Pier. Looks like Real Madrid will be losing some points tonight. Levante have put up quite a challenge in the second half.

Who say La Liga is a boring league?  Cheesy

Edit:

3-3 Now. Another Vini equalizer. Vini is really doing so well, with Levante now down to 10 men.
2553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fiat-to-Crypto Versus Crypto-to-Crypto: How Should You Trade? on: August 22, 2021, 09:22:58 PM
To me, it's on a case-by-case basis. Crypto-to-crypto trading only become sweet if the market is in an uptrend. One gets to enjoy both profits from trading and those made due to to increase in the value of the base crypto asset in the trading account. Should there be a bear market, I think crypto-to-fiat (stablecoin) is a much better option if someone is looking at their daily profits in fiat terms.
2554  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where would you set the support and resistance for VET? on: August 22, 2021, 08:56:02 PM
I suggest you look at the 1 day or even the 1-week time frame as well.

Do you know how to use the Fibonacci retracement tool? You can use it on 1 day time frame to determine the possible resistance and resistance levels, though I am not really sure about low marketcap coins VET whose price pumps and dump the way it likes.
2555  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CLOUDBET.com aka ScamBet. All/Any Help Will Be Greatly Apriciate on: August 22, 2021, 08:42:50 PM
Cloudbet's slow response rate by the support is something that has been going on for some years, and I don't know why they are not willing to rectify that. I believe so many people have complained about it.

The only option your friend has now is to wait out until his issue is worked on, and possibly avoid using cloudbet in the future.
2556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 21, 2021, 09:59:15 PM
Great game by Athletic Bilbao. They should have even won this game if they had taken a couple of their Chances. Barcelona don't have that fear factor anymore, ss a matter of fact, It started last season. Their defense was so shaky and was always teased by the Bilbao attackers. I expect them to have a very hard time winning some upcoming games, even against weak opponents.

2557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Walmart hiring ad raises bitcoin price to $48,000 on: August 21, 2021, 09:48:22 PM
So every time Bitcoin price rises, it's because some supermarket or corporations joined the Bitcoin train?

Honestly, I don't know how people always bring up this shit. " Bitcoin price rose because Walmart did this" "Bitcoin price dropped because Elon tweeted this"
My question is can't Bitcoin just rise and drop without any reason getting attached to it?
2558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto lending platforms on: August 21, 2021, 09:30:56 PM
I don't know if my math is just wrong, but the returns one makes for locking up their money aren't worth in, IMO. For example, if the APY is 8%, and you look up 100,000 USDC in a platform. You are going to earn only 8000 USDC after risking your funds for a full year in a custodial platform.

Buying Bitcoin when the price is low and keeping it in your personal address gives a better APY with less risk in very short time IMO.
2559  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Stay away from user : mtowfiq (never trust) on: August 21, 2021, 08:59:04 PM
shouldn't this fall to unsolicited PMs and can get the user who sent it banned from the forum?
The scammer has been banned. Sharing phishing links is a bannable offense if it's reported to the moderators.

Just curious to know how does this scam is being done and how does it impersonate another User ?

Does it take you to outside forum ?
It's not impersonating another user. The link shared is meant to trick you into signing in thereby stealing your information which the scammer later users to hack your account
2560  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] titanicons.com - Deposits accepted, Withdrawls denied on: August 21, 2021, 08:14:27 PM
You got scammed old school style. I don't understand how you didn't know about this type of scam given that you have been in this forum for some years, but it's been going on for a long time now.

We have so many trusted escrows in this forum. You should have used them.

The site you just shared has several other clones, probably owned by the same scammer, like this cryptooptions.net, bitjux.com, eonxchange.com
