While I don't think that we will lose them so easily, I want to remember you that we have also lost Satoshi, and this doesn't seem that has stopped the developing of Bitcoin.
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin classic", brought up by literal crooks on: January 28, 2016, 03:42:42 PM
Classic has been losing reliability and credibility, as to my knowledge, the development has been quite stagnant
There may be more development in secret. Rather than having public activity on github they seem to have mostly done code dumps with their initial patches. It certainly seems more dead than even XT did.

Just listen to the interview that I've posted on the previous page and compare how Toomin speaks to Maxwell. The difference is astronomical.
He is Michael Toomin, the brother of Jonathan Toomim, who is leading Bitcoin Classic.

Did you know this? Are you a liar spreading FUD as many other?

Did you know that they are two brothers?

The Michael's job is making a good system to ask for opinions about the line that Bitcoin Classic should follow:
https://bitcoinclassic.consider.it

Still, comparing the abilities and competence of two people just because their way of speaking is naive at best.

There are marketers that are able to speak about things that they really don't know, and still they are able easily sell it.

Nuova release 0.5.7 Smiley

https://github.com/mailchuck/PyBitmessage/releases/tag/v0.5.7

Quote
This release has an overall smoother experience. Tons of bug fixes and things that have been cleaned up.

Fixes:
- Message subjects can now be copied to clipboard again and work correctly when replying to gatewayed messages
- Portable mode should now work correctly on OSX
- Windows/OSX binaries have all the system elements (like Ok buttons) correctly localised.
- external UPnP port is now remembered across restarts
- Improved unicode handling, including invalid characters
- Search text will remain after searching is finished
- Minor spelling fixes (thanks to itsexe)
- Daemon mode fix when Qt is not available. Running PyBitmessage on headless machines now works again without problems.
- Improved search method for OpenSSL libraries. For 0.5.6, some Windows users were unable to launch Bitmessage because they had an incompatible OpenSSL library somewhere on their system. This won't be a problem anymore.
- PyBitmessage shuts down correctly if you quit immediately after launching it
- Message composing will not allow rich text anymore (it just screwed up pasting, and it was ignored once you sent the message anyway)
- Sent folder shows new sent messages correctly
- Consequent spaces in message content displayed correctly
- Message quoting fixed for messages containing HTML tags
- Messages from subscriptions have the correct colour
- Addressbook editing now changes existing entries in the message list
- Labels of subscriptions and chans can now be edited also through the addressbook and update the rest of the interface automatically
- Enabling/disabling addresses updates the addressbook automatically
- Adding new entries to blacklist didn't update the list immediately
- Number of unread messages displayed more correctly
- The Windows binary now really uses OpenSSL 1.0.2e. The previous release was announced as using OpenSSL 1.0.2e but didn't, and it also sometimes included a different OpenSSL version from the system path.

New features and enhancements:
- Message contents when viewing and composing can be zoomed (Ctrl + MouseWhell, like in a browser)
- When replying, the cursor is positioned inside the message body
- Contact support form includes python and OpenSSL version
- Messages are downloaded faster from the network peers
2559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do you know the main reason because eMule died after the arrival of BitTorrent? on: January 24, 2016, 07:06:46 PM
The main reason were the "chunks".

eMule divides the files in chunks, 9,728,000 bytes (9500 KiB).

The peer is able to share a peace of file only after it has downloaded an entire chunk, not before.

At the time the download bandwidth was obviously lower then now.

So, there were long times before a chunk was completely downloaded and able to be shared, and so files needed a lot of time to be completely shared.

There were times where a lot of peers where only downloading and not upload, because they weren't able to. (no complete chunk, no able to upload)

Then arrived BitTorrent, and the smaller part was 16KB, do you know what does this mean?

It means that peers will be able to start uploading even after have downloaded just 16KB! Few seconds.

Files were more liquid.

Money is by definition the more resellable commodity on the market.

So, what does it mean that "a money" needs more then 10 minutes to be resellable? And more then 20 minutes? More than 1 hour? ...

It means that it is less liquid. There will be less exchange between people.

There are many functions that make more or less liquid a cryptocurrency, all of them need to be considered.
2560  Local / Off-Topic (Italiano) / https://accountsky.me - Account Netflix gratuiti on: January 24, 2016, 06:34:35 PM
https://accountsky.me

Questo servizio vende iscrizioni a vari account di streaming vari (si può pagare anche in Bitcoin):
Spotify, Netflix, Hulu Plus, CrunchyRoll, ESPN Insider, Fitbit, Minecraft, UFC, Tidal, HBO Now, WWE, NFL, Origin, Dominos

(a volte bastano 2/3 tentativi)

Può capitare che alcuni account partano con impostata un'altra lingua nell'interfaccia diversa dall'inglese, si può cambiare in inglese e anche in italiano.

Fatemi sapere come è andata Wink
