at least BTC withdrawal still works
That's good.

Has anyone emailed any of the bitcoinica related email addresses in this thread in the past week and received a response from anyone?

The relatively small 180 or so bitcoin loss I took from the (most recent) bitcoinica debacle helped me realize that I should be in total control of my bitcoins as often as possible. I hope nothing serious is happening here, but if it is something serious, then my appreciation for my appreciation of one of bitcoin's most revolutionary properties - that people can safeguard their own wealth - will grow even more than it already has over the past several weeks. Good luck everyone.

Are you guys getting responses to requests for updates via the several email address, or the latest one, posted here? I've emailed several times over the past several weeks (months?) and haven't gotten a single response. The only emails I've received from any bitcoinica related email address are automated, and have been requests to update my claims page.
I've gotten a response 5 times now, and they were all really fast. I used Genjix Riseup email-address: genjix@riseup.netHmm, I've used that one, the bitcoinica one, and the newest one over the past several weeks and haven't heard a thing back. What are you including in your requests? Have you been sending them your bitcoinica claim ID? I've been hesitant to put that in there, but since nobody is responding at all I don't have a clue what they expect from me. Amir? This is the mail I've sent him (Including his reply): -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, Your status is marked as accurate. > > Dear Genjix, > > I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you could tell me the > verification status of my account? > Thank you very much in advance! > > Yours sincerely, > > Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx AKA "Mushoz" > Ah, I see the problem. I haven't been starting with "Dear Genjix".

I am thinking this little dip has been helped along by the RBS fiasco.
RBS fiasco?

So, you're mostly doing what is known as the ultimate problem of Bitcoin: hoarding.
Why hoarding is a problem? Is hoarding ultimate problem of gold too? +1 Is hoarding ultimate problem of USD too? Warrent Buffet said he is always holding more than 20B USD! So that's why the economy is in trouble. No, it's not because the hoarding that the economy is in trouble. "Hoarding" means people treat the capital, behind which there are economy resourses, in a very serious way. Over consumption, over debt leverage and over stock investment is source of today's economy trouble. Economy resources have been wasted. If there are more people "hoard", the economy resourse will only be put where value is created. What I am doubting with, is not the "hoarding is a problem", but whether bitcoin will really make people "hoarding" the money? People put money into the Pirate40 HIY program and other ponzi schemes in the bitcoin economy, are people really hoarding the money? I don't think so. I was just kidding, BTW.

This way he can find you much faster. At some point you need to trust someone. I included my ID and other account related information. I received half of my BTC without further notice. When I got my claim ID I was told not to tell any one so I did not. All they need is the e-mail coming from the e-mail address of your account. Thanks. We should make a FAQ in a different thread on how to deal with this mess. Yes, that's why I wasn't including my claim ID. I would think they can associate my email with my claim ID easy enough, and it isn't as if I'm requesting sensitive information. I just want to know if somebody is evening listening. What's the status of my claim? Is there some trust issue with me? If there is, let me know what it is so I can address it. As it stands, I've been totally left in the dark despite providing all sorts of contact info, MtGox codes and transaction records, and a correct password...

I'm not surprised anymore by how quickly the picture changes. I'm sure lots of people are getting really anxious right now. I don't think we're far from seeing an enormous bite taken out of the bids. $6.80 is the new $7.20 is the new $32.00. Maybe back into high $4s over the next 3-4 months and then $5.something becomes the new $6.80?

Panic makes selling too hard, what makes late seller loose cause early sellers rebuy Just for your information So im happy if you sell me coins for 6-6.3
Oh, I'm absolutely not selling. As I've said before, I don't have a single coin in any of the exchanges anymore. It's all offline paper wallets, and small mobile wallets for me. When I do buy, which I'll probably do again in the next few days, I immediately send the coins to an offline wallet. I'm just stirring the pot a bit, and watching the show. So, you're mostly doing what is known as the ultimate problem of Bitcoin: hoarding. Did I say that?

That looks like what could become a classical Shoulder Head Shoulder formation, even with a small version of itself in the head section. Just watch out for the indicators! (lower highs and lower lows). If it does unfold like this the best opportunity to get of board is on top of the last shoulder. In my example a final drop to the 5-5.2$ area would be the result. Something like this.

I would cash out if I felt that bitcoins were grossly overvalued for the non-speculative demand I felt existed at the time and that as a result the price was likely to implode.
Well, yeah, there's that.
