2561  Economy / Economics / Re: War requires three things on: March 04, 2022, 10:38:39 PM
My question to the forum is how does Putin intend to make the war of aggression against Ukraine be eventually profitable?

One of the greatest recent achievements Russia could have made into record but unsuccessful is acquiring Ukraine, lets take a look at it this way that a rich man in a particular environment could just wake up one day and wanted to buy up all the neighbouring environments close to his house so as to be in charge and have control over every activities within his reach, now this will include the lives both human and their livestocks, land, properties and the natural resources embedded within the region.

But am surprised seen Russia still exhibiting an old way of enslaving people through engaging them in war in other to cart away all their belongings which i personally sees this as Russia been selfish and covetous, now this is a modern way of slavery, if something is close within your reach doesn't means it belongs to you, sharing geographical boundaries and similarities in cultural believes doesn't mean that Russia can impose authority on Ukraine and i see Putin not contempted and for such a person, only death can be their satisfaction.
Yes, Putin never realised the after effects as well as the lives of people. He wants everything to be under his control. Even in the bilateral talks between the country, there were statements to remove Zelenskyy from power and appoint former president Viktor Yanukovych who is very close to the Russian government. This won't come to an end easily. Now the ego could've got triggered, and that's the reason why the airforce have come into the attack.

This time the war is not about money, but it is all about power and trying to establish their potential to the world. Ukraine is nothing down to Russia in any means. Most important reasons behind the war seems to be the growth happening within Ukraine and the European countries support.
2562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will not save Russia from sanctions on: March 04, 2022, 09:31:45 PM
as far as I know, Russia has not yet adopted the necessary laws to allow cryptocurrency to move freely, but as a circumvention of sanctions, cryptocurrency could help, but judging by the news they do not have it in the first place and I think the cryptocurrency will be in limbo.
Days back to the war the bill for the legalizing of bitcoin was taken into the parliament discussion. Even though legality is positive, it can't make an immediate change in the market. If people have got time there is possible chances of massive adoption and people holding good volume of cryptocurrencies. Now people are willing to make an investment, but they weren't able to do it. Because, the entire banking system is shut and it is difficult to transfer fiat and receive bitcoin.
2563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin surpasses Russian Ruble - now top 15 currency on: March 04, 2022, 08:49:34 PM
Swift system cut-off from Russia is the major blow, or else Russia could've never suffered such a downtime. Russia never expected this and this war is something a digital war, because beyond the loss of lives the technology is playing role to minimize it. In specific I could say the Swift cut-off, the satellite information termination, seizure of assets invested on other countries, freezing the funds. Somehow the situation is being tackled using bitcoin, but this doesn't make a big move with the people's life as the number of users aren't that big and there is no big adoption to overcome the situation.

Meanwhile Women World Cup is in progress at New Zealand, total 8 team are participating New Zealand, Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and West Indies . Here are some interesting facts regarding prize money.

Quote
Winner will get $1.32 million, double of what England got after winning the 2017 edition. The overall prize money has also been increased by 75%.
$600,000 for Runner up team
Two semifinalist will get $300,000.
The four teams that don't make it out of the league stage will be awarded a total of $70,000.
Source

ICC has allocated quite good money for this women's WC.
This is really good with ICC increasing the Women's World Cup prize money. Slowly more importance is being given to the women's cricket. At times the women's cricket seems to be underrated. Proper funding is the only way through which it is possible to make good teams and players. Women's World Cup is scheduled for tomorrow and runs for a month. Any prediction on the winner, and I believe it is Australia to grab.
2565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Women and Cryptocurrency on: March 02, 2022, 10:54:18 PM
I'm not sure about the survey sample. Based on a survey conducted by Blockfi 33% of women are interested in cryptocurrencies. Among them 60% women gonna buy cryptocurrencies in the falling few months time. The same study in the previous year have resulted with a 29% and what we have got is growth.

Among surveyed, one out of four women already holds cryptocurrencies. Most of the women holds this for future and never sold it. The priority of these women were much into bitcoin, ethereum and dogecoin. Very few have invested on NFT and other cryptocurrencies. In the male dominated crypto industry slowly women are making their footprints. Women are much fond of holding and very little interest is being found on making roles in blockchain based firms.

Data : 33% Of Women Plans To Buy Crypto This Year
2566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will not save Russia from sanctions on: March 02, 2022, 04:06:27 AM
Russia can experience little relaxation using bitcoin against the sanctions. Even if you have fiat, now it isn't an easy thing to convert fiat to cryptocurrency in Russia. In my understanding maybe the usage of bitcoin could help with some 2-4% of the economy. A complete economic stability out of bitcoin in a country like Russia isn't a possible fact. Now the latest sanction is done by Apple. No more apple products sold in Russia.
2567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever subscribe to any tipser giving sports betting premium picks? on: March 01, 2022, 11:19:37 PM
With sports betting you predict the outcome with the knowledge you've got in that particular game. The tipster provider will be doing it based on his knowledge and suggest odds to be picked.

There are trusted service providers as well as scammers. Whoever you subscribe they take credit of the winning bets and ignore or justify the loss. So winning credit is for them and losing credit for us. What's the need for this when we can analyse and select the odds as data regarding the games and related information can be got searching the internet.
2568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 01, 2022, 10:31:40 PM
I never had the doubt that this T20 series would be a whitewash. Indian team has been performing exceptionally well under the captainship of Rohit Sharma. Not to forget some consistent and agressive batting from Shreyas Iyer too. Ravindra Jadeja has gained his lost form and Ishan Kishan also proved why he is now the highest paid player in IPL. Next ODI series with Srilanka and I hope that the India team performs in the same manner.

First, after a long time, India is back in form. More importantly, the top order players have been able to play well. That is why India has won every match. They were out of form for a long time. Because they were not in the form of top order batsmen. If India's top order is able to play well in the ODI series then maybe we will see the same result again. India will win all the matches.

No, I think India was already in the form. They have recently won against Scotland, Afghanistan in the T20 world cup. Then they won matches against West Indies and now they are winning against Srilanka. India is capable of beating these weak teams. They only fail to perform or struggle when they play with big teams like Pakistan and Australia etc.
This looks like you're underrating Indian team connecting with the loss against Pakistan in the Super 12 match last year. I don't think India used to struggle against big teams. If questioned with the big cricketing teams surely they'll find it difficult to play against India than Pakistan. I agree on the statement that most of the time match results are like predefined when playing against small teams. Even now I don't add Sri Lanka on the small teams list.
2569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 28, 2022, 11:55:24 PM

Lahore needed this win. The final was held in Lahore and there was no better way to win the first PSL title for Lahore qalandar at Lahore.

Apart from the win, we are very happy to successfully conduct the full tournament in Pakistan. It's not a win for Multan or Lahore, its a win for PAKISTAN.

congrats to Qalandars. I was supporting Multan Sultan. The way they were going I like many thought they will pick the trophy this time again. But Lahore Qalandars proved it wrong. The Shaheen Shah Afridi led Qalandars is the the only team left that has not won the competition title since the Pakistan super league started in 2016. Last time Qalandars lost to Karachi Kings the only final they played in 2020.

In 2022, Lahore lifted the trophy. So now all PSL teams have won title at-least once.
That's unexpected performance from Qalanders, because it was Sultans to top the table with a single defeat. Anyhow this was an interesting season of PSL than the previous seasons. As said in the above quote it isn't the win for Qalanders or Sultans, if is the win for Pakistan conducting a world class cricket league.

Now it's time for Pakistan to get ready for the test series against Australia which is under big expectation from cricket enthusiasts.
2570  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: February 28, 2022, 10:41:55 PM
As a new month is about to start, so is the market movement. The price have crossed $42000 which is really a big thing amidst the war that has shattered the market in the beginning. The market have got inflow of investment from people around the world to keep their money safe. Another thing is the usage of cryptocurrencies in large scale by the countries involved in the war. As the market is independent and decentralised this growth is being experienced. But, anytime this could crash relative to the war move. If talks results positive, the growth will continue and $40k will sustain.
2571  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN - ROAD TO 8,000$ - speculation on: February 28, 2022, 04:31:16 PM
I think there is no way that Bitcoin to drop to $8k. The current Bitcoin price survives above $37k, it is very far from $8k. Although there will be a war, I believe that Bitcoin price won't drop below $10k. The last ATH is about $68k, it is horrible if the price free fall to $8k only in a few months. Every party in crypto market won't let it happen.
It seems unlikely now, but as always "it depends". Nobody would have thought it is possible for BTC to reach $60k 2 years ago, it could well go back lower if we see strict regulation laws in large parts of the world. Personally I don't believe it will be so bad, we might see a bottom at around $20-25k maybe.
There were wild predictions, and none have a strong belief of price reaching $60k+ in such a short time period. Even at this moment the price is predicted to fall, associating with the war. Initially there is crash, and further the market have turned strong reaching $41k while the world market is suffering. This way the market moves were unpredictable and the same can crash the market downwards.
2572  Economy / Economics / Re: Ban Russia from SWIFT! Protect Ukrainian Sky! Send NATO to Ukraine! on: February 28, 2022, 01:52:39 PM
Hours back Russia have closed its skies for 27 countries. Already it has closed the skies for Bulgaria, Poland and Czech Republic. Now it looks like Germany, France and more European countries added to the list. Earlier European countries banned Russian flights for specific time period. Now Russia is making the same decision as the countries that closed skies for Russian flights. This is going to make the economy even worse. For now we can't predict what is gonna happen with both the countries.
2573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 28, 2022, 09:42:43 AM
Let's just deviate from Pakistan India seris which is not going to happen in a decade.

There is breaking news for PCB and cricket fans in Pakistan as Australia arrive in Pakistan for first tour in 24 years. Aussie captain after touch down in Pakistan saying 'I feel incredibly safe,'.

Tour will start with 3 match test series and first test is scheduled on 4th March 2022. Both teams are in good form. I rate Australia favorite for test format while Pakistan in T20 series as both have performed well in these formats.
This is a big history in Cricket. This series will surely help Pakistan build better infrastructure for cricket. Moreover we can expect more countries touring Pakistan in the coming months. Pakistan will give good security for the players and Pakistan people will be happy to watch a big series happening in the country after a long gap. As said Australia will have good chance on tests and T20 will be dominated by Pakistan.
2574  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: February 27, 2022, 11:50:14 PM
Considering the current events in Ukraine and the open aggression from Russia, what are your thoughts on the collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms in support of Ukraine?

We know that 1xBET and 1xBit are owned by Russians. Do you know any more? Could we make a list of all Russian-owned casinos?

I'd love to support an initiative to help Ukraine! I think it would be great if we all raised our voices together and supported it.

such a choice can really make things better in the world?
What is the point of such initiative? this will change something or just hurting business of some individual (that maybe he don't support any type of war or aggression?)
Personally I don't think that such type of action have any sense since you're not targeting who made decisions or a government but just someone that run a business.

Maybe some Ukranian people might also be benefitting out of the businesses owned by the Russians. So, boycotting isn't a good decision.

I don't know how effective this works, but in the past there were more ways to pressurise governments to stop war. Nowadays this isn't possible as countries mutually benefit. Something like signing petitions can be done and this is also just a try and no big changes gonna happen out of it.

I think that New Zealand made a good comeback from the situation that they were in in the second test. From 91 for 5, they scored 293 for 10. If they can bowl out South Africa for cheap on the fourth day I think they have a chance of winning.
It was a good recovery, 133 runs for the 6th wicket by Daryl Mitchell and Colin de Grandhomme is the reason they are right back in this match. South Africa is leading by 211 runs and they still have 5 wickets in hand and they need one solid partnership to be in a safe position if not New Zealand will bounce back and will win the match as there is plenty of time left for this match.
New Zealand have made a big come back that no one expected. South Africa leading with 211 runs and five wickets left. Last two days there'll be big changes in the pitch. So that South Africa could reach a maximum of 300-325 runs by day 4. It is New Zealand to make a win or end the match with a draw. New Zealand can't expect the same thing as the first innings, because the pitch conditions vary. Mostly New Zealand will try to draw the match whereas South Africa will try to make a win.

Sanju Samson promoted above the order still, he was not able to perform as thought seeing his performance in the second T20 match. Shreyas Iyer again trying to deliver what has been excepted from him. I am pretty much sure India will be able to win this match and this series will be again a whitewash.
Shreyas Iyer was consistent throughout this tournament and he is yet to be dismissed in this series with 57 not out followed by 74 not out and today 73 not out and he is the sole player who took the game away from Sri Lanka in all of the three matches. Sanju Samson was promoted today as an opener and yet he was not able to deliver and he needs to focus on consistency if he wants a chance again as the competition is really tough.
Yes, it was Shreyas who have made the series a big win for India. Back to back performance in a much consistent and with more confidence shows his ability. I expect similar level of performance when playing abroad. The biggest thing with Indian players, used to perform well at the home ground and exact opposite scenario happens playing abroad. Sanju Samson have been getting good opportunity and he needs to make use of it. At times he looks like an IPL player who shows his ability only in IPL matches.
2577  Economy / Speculation / Re: are we going to have "fear" months? on: February 27, 2022, 06:17:50 PM
Possible. February there was so much fear as the rally in bitcoin's price hike has slowed since the start of the year due to heavy selling traders and investors and a lack of positive sentiment from major institutions.

With the war happening between Russia and Ukraine, for sure there's an effect to the crypto market, therefore I expect that the bearish market will continue and it will result in more panic. Well, the price has slightly recovered, however, we are still not in the comfort zone, it's still very low compared to its ATH, so I'm guessing, maybe we will see $20k over time.
There is price recovery with time than what is being expected. $20k over time might happen, the price that declined on the day of war start should've made the price down to $25k by now for those panic wave. Somehow the market turned bullish he very next day and even crossed $40k. There are more months left for the year, maybe $20k can be low bottom if things didn't go well due to war.
2578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance donates $10 million to support Ukraine on: February 27, 2022, 05:21:54 PM
That's a big support to Ukraine when they're in need. More countries are giving hands to Ukraine. However a war isn't necessary, because from the beginning once again people have to build their lives even if it comes to an end.

Ukraine have also added cryptocurrency addresses to accept donations. Within a short something around 100 bitcoins have been received. People from different organisations, countries have been supporting. In particular neighbouring countries are really supportive, Poland have accommodated people who are entering the country with all possible sources. Hope the war comes to an end at the earliest.

With the usage of cryptocurrency once after the war between Ukraine and Russia Economist Alex Kruger Warns Russia Using Crypto To Escape Sanctions. In his statement he mentioned

Quote
“Russia using crypto to bypass sanctions would be dreadfully bearish.

Don’t expect it to happen.

But be careful what you wish for.

US regulators would be pushed to crush the industry as a matter of national security.”

The usage of cryptocurrency on sanctions would affect the cryptocurrency market negatively. This is same for stocks and cryptocurrency. The precious metals were gonna turn high. Does this impact can be experienced on the market.
