Litecoin is a joke

You know Litecoin is a joke when it's lead developer and creator stops developing for it:

The fact that Charlie Lee works for Coinbase, probably the largest Bitcoin based company, is a joke in itself.

that's correct. they all are a gang. they all are related. Don't you see? Smiley

Charlie Lee(Litecoin owner) works for Coinbase. Coinbase has shareholders same guys who are shareholders for Bitstamp, BTC-China, Ripple and many others.
The same shareholders are the sponsors for many news media websites which promote Bitcoins.

Take the ones from the so called "Foundation"(Bitcoin developers) and you will find that they are connected with the exchanges and their shareholders as well. Not that they know each other but the are interconnected by running the same businesses.

Only a very stupid person should not see the facts. Smiley

Not sure what your point is, but sure I'll bite.

Dudes from silicon valley and dudes from wall street run in the same circles, so they form one huge massive circle jerk with splooge all over their faces.  Amirite?

In this threads context, I think you made a positive remark though, instead of your intended negative slant.  Synergy between tech companies and financial companies, and extending the ecosystem is always a good thing.
2562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO: bitcoin is far ahead! Altcoins are distractions! on: February 25, 2015, 05:58:46 PM
Sure Bitcoin is and will be main cryptocurrency, i dont think lot of alts will survive in long run, maybe few with some fancy feature like anon or faster coins for small transactions when Bitcoin becomes big.

BTC is smaller and smaller.  aprox 200,000 unique BTC address are used per day. Part of these belong to the same owners(internal transfers). So, what is Bitcoin? Around of 100K users per day and a lot of media buzz Smiley

Wrong.

Appreciate your great work

Yes awesome work guys

100 people working on the core and 0 people working on the demand for bitcoin, you guys are doing great work for your coin if your priorities weren't all messed up Smiley I think you should start doing some real work and maybe do something positive for your investors like ahh CREATE A DEMAND so people will have a reason, a purpose and a need to buy more bitcoins than they sell. STOP waiting for others to create a demand for your coin.

And before you code and bitcoin developer lovers get all bent out of shape, I have been in bitcoins for a long time, mined them traded them, own informational websites, facebook groups, held seminars and never have I ever used the bitcoin core wallet Smiley to much work on that core and not enough for the demand. The core wallet is to confusing to people without coding experience, to understand it, and god forbid if they are not super experienced and only have a command line to use they wont get past the git clone, the developers have spent way to much time on the core development that is simply put, NOT userfriendly. Unless its in a graphical interface, it deters users from even using bitcoins so adoption and adaptation is more complex. the value of bitcoin continues to fall with every new release. its time to get your priorities together, because in another 5 years if things keep going this way, there will be no more bitcoins Smiley

This should answer your non-technical concerns regarding the Bitcoin Foundation's priorities:

http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2015/02/24/bitbeat-for-bitcoin-some-good-press-finally/

Finally get some ads and publicity that'll help people become familiar with Bitcoin, thus directly pushing technology to meet the users needs (making Core and Bitcoin more user friendly).

2566  Economy / Speculation / Re: Great time to buy on: February 25, 2015, 04:39:53 PM
Still waiting for a more favorable entry level before I consider it a good buy. Do you expect it to decline a little bit before you buy or do you already consider this as a good buy?

Circle March 5th-6th on your calendar to see what happens to the price during the US Marshalls Silk Road Bitcoin auction:

http://newsbtc.com/2015/02/20/look-silk-road-auctions-impact-bitcoin-price/

If you see a price dump, BUY BUY BUY.

If you see a price pump, BUY BUY BUY.

Now at least you know what to do.   Cool
2567  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is hopeless, sell your coins now on: February 25, 2015, 04:31:51 PM
How many threads like this exist?  Seems like there's at least 10 of these a day.

If Bitcoin is hopeless, why are major financial institutions and banks trying to figure out how to pry the Blockchain away from Bitcoin in order to use it for their services(hint, you can't)?  Why are there hundreds of millions of venture capital and angel investors pouring money in Bitcoin startups?  Why is Bitcoin hopeless if we still haven't exited the Beta stage, and still haven't launched 1.0?

If anything this is period to load up, not dump before it's too late...
2568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: people killed the killer app for bitcoin! on: February 25, 2015, 04:05:56 PM
No Silkroad is not what Bitcoin needs to go to the moon, Bitcoin has the killer app and it's built in and thats the blockchain. Proof of transactions and sending of wealth without a third party.

This to the trillionth power.  The Blockchain IS Bitcoin's killer app.

Financial institutions, banksters, and tech giants alike are trying to figure out how to pry the Blockchain invention away from Bitcoin to benefit them.

King should accept it, hate seeing that game, but if it benefits Bitcoin, sure why not:

The fact that so many people buy virtual items in free to play games baffles me, but that's just me.  Those microtransactions would be boost for sure.
2570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why bitcoin will fail and this is why on: February 25, 2015, 03:40:46 PM
becoz... swat teams can raid centralized physical mining farms to weaken the nekwork and then attack it oll they have to do is track down heavy electricity usage and ir heat just like cannibis farms and yet again we have gone back to sqaure one of centralizations and force... oh sure there will be the stand alone hobbyist miner ho hav a couple of ants but that is still not enough to secure the nekwork once the big players are raided down the poo bowl

Is this english?  Here's the Bitcointalk translator:

2571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Big Is The Impact of Dell To Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2015, 03:08:08 PM
After Dell Embraces Bitcoin In UK and Canada, what will happen to bitcoin?

Given that its only available in UK and Canada.

How can Dell's acceptance of Bitcoin affect each of us bitcoiners?

Good for adoption and acceptance, bad anytime someone makes a purchase, since Dell immediately dumps the coin for fiat.

Double-edged sword, but I'll take it for the long run.

How come you're sure that theyre going to dump it for fiat?

Because they use Coinbase as a payment processor:

https://www.coinbase.com/merchants

Payment processor in this context essentially means Bitcoin to Fiat immediately.  Which means Bitcoin sold, which means price goes down as soon as a Bitcoin gets sold for fiat.

Hello guys,

Which is your favourite mobile wallet?

Until now I have been online using bitcoin core on my PC, as it felt the safest way.
What are good alternatives, not always have to synchronize the blockchain.

Especially for iOS. I am fuddling with Coinbase and Blockchain mobile Apps right now.

These are pretty much your options for iOS:

Can't go wrong with Green Address or Hive I hear.

Without a shadow of a doubt, it's breadwallet. I don't get it how people can still favor Blockchain.info's (cr)app.

That's for iOS. For Android, it's Mycelium.

For Windows Phone, I think there is no wallet app yet?

Actually for Windows Phone there is this wallet option:

I would purchase a Server PSU with a breakout board, they are quite reliable and cheap from what I have heard.

Speaking of which, there's a goldmine of PSU's to be found at a reasonable price right here in this forum:

apart from ebay are there any other good vendors of the antminer s3/s5

Check the Goods/Computer Hardware section of the Marketplace sub forum here in Bitcointalk:

Make sure you thoroughly check Trust history and make sure to use escrow for any deals.
2579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many confirmations does it take to verify the deposit? on: February 24, 2015, 10:45:22 PM
When I transact with Coinbase, payment or withdrawal or deposit, they recommend 3 or more confirmations.

If you're talking about something smaller like $5 or less, I would wait for the 1 confirmation and be on my way.
2580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American Green's Bitcoin Accepting Marijuana Vending Machines Hit Seattle on: February 24, 2015, 10:39:19 PM
Sweet, that's awesome!

And ChuckBuck-
I really think that would be a great idea if RedBox accepted Bitcoin and it would Definitely get people talking! However, I'm not sure that would work unfortunately because RedBox needs something it can charge daily and late fees to. The only way I could see that working is if you sent like a $15 deposit of BTC up front (to cover the possibility of late fees & stolen discs) and after you turned it in, it would take your $15 - ($1 x days rented) and automatically send the rest of your deposit back to your sending address. I think that would be really cool (and very do-able) if the whole process was automated.

For those unfamiliar with RedBox, it stores a bunch of DVDs and BluRays to rent. You swipe your credit/debit card and get your movie, and it charges you approx. $1 for it, and everyday after is $1 a day as well. And since you've already swiped your credit card, it automatically charges you for those days or an unreturned disc.

My man, snarlpill!  Long time no talk buddy.   Grin

Yes, I agree that for BTC based transactions, there would have to be a hold or reserve type amount in case of late fees for RedBox, that would get refunded automatically once the DVD is returned.  I'm sure there are developers out there that could code that up wonderfully.

Back on topic, man I guess there's gonna be a whole load of Bitstoners out in Seattle!  Hope they have a regular snack vending machine next to the Marijuana one.

P.S. - Loving the Cryptolator coins, Snarlpill.  LOVING THEM, thanks once again!!!
