https://www.merkle.press/2018/05/bitcoin-price-has-hypothetical-value-of.htmlBitcoin Price Has Hypothetical Value of $1,800: Federal Reserve Report “Although Bitcoins do not possess any real intrinsic value, from a commodity valuation perspective, we can estimate a hypothetical value based on its production costs. Recent estimates regarding the energy involved in mining a single Bitcoin by professional energy-efficient mining rigs put it at about $1,800 when mined in China (where 80% of the currently mined Bitcoins originate). I said a few month back around $2k to mine 1 og btc... Probably going to go lower than that ( $800-$1400 possible ) The energy is obviously not the only cost of mining, so his hypothetical value is far from realistic. To mine 1 BTC with 1 Antminer S9 one needs 1223 days at constant (=current) difficulty. The energy used during that time would be ~40k kWh (cost ~ $2000 at $0.05 per kWh). S9 price is ~$900-1000, so energy + miner would be $3000, and then there're other costs, like employees, buildings, HVAC, repairs, etc. True for the average consumer(miner)your prices are probably accurate. However for industrial scale miners, its not, its alot cheaper. They buy asics in bulk and get cheaper elec, leading to huge savings. Also the producers of asics are always ahead. While average miners use s9, the asic producers will be using "testing" s10 and be creating s11 always remain a few steps ahead of the rest. Probably true about the equipment prices, but energy at $0.05 is rather low... at least for US and EU, not sure about China and far east in general. Also, for the average consumer grade miner there're no additional costs of large buildings, HVAC installations and employees, so the costs aren't much different imo. We probably both right depending on the miner. I think we can agree the price to mine 1og btc is between $2k - $3500 , def not the $8k some places have been reporting. Lets say $2700 is an average price ...that price will 100% happen for og btc and then more panic dumping can take its price lower than $2k, imo I wonder if Jihan or some other big mining group will tell us the cost for them to mine 1og btc. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Yes, your average is plausible, and... No, I doubt big miners will ever disclose their costs ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) BTI vs. BCH flippening occuring ~ more miners switching to Instantcoin ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) weeee ====> http://abe.getbitcoininstant.org:2750/chain/Instanthttps://freiexchange.com/market/BTI/BTCI think the 0.08 BTC daily volume says otherwise. You are welcome, @Sampey ^_^ I modified the reference in the OP. I am very satisfied with C.A.T., great product! It is easy and relatively safe to earn profit with C.A.T. by tinkering the settings a bit and reading the user-friendly manual. Thank you so much ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) the freicoinexchange api almost ready >_> please don't nuke us bruh! ===> https://freiexchange.com/market/BTI/BTC

he news item on Cryptopia says that they will swap them until July 2018, but currently they are probably swamped with hundreds of people a day asking support what the difference between bitcoin and litecoin is, whether coins can be delivered by post etc etc. So best to wait til things settle down a bit then ask, but people should have until July 2018 to swap coins that were minted on the old chain before the swap. Obviously do not mine the old chain now or you will not get those coins swapped too.
the original coins blockchain must stay alive ! ~ who gives bittrex insiders the right to say what happens at cryptopia? :\ sounds like a huge monopoly : robber barrons <===

What is the difference between DOT coin and CEFS coin? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) As I see it, DOT is used as a payments means to buy services from Cryptopia, ie new coin listing. CEFS is the coin you buy to share in the income Cryptopia make, ie if you are a shareholder you get 1 CEFS. Its like being paid a dividend each month. who is the developer of this coin? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ~we are planning a community takeover if none*

But... Is that even possible? I mean, a FIAT decentralised exchange? The only thing I can think similar would be localbitcoins... which is not really decentralized even if the deals are somewhat p2p.
Decentralized crypto-only exchanges? Yeah, through smart contracts, atomic swaps, etc.... but FIAT? Maybe through a (completely exploitable) trust rating system... other than that... how?
https://bisq.networkthis^ BTI( BTCInstant) is going to be listed here soon ~ i'll keep you posted ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) weeeeee

Decred will be coin of the year. Hash rate already grew from 300Th in January to 9000 Th today ... with at least 2 more asic
can we safely say bitmain insiders have now effectively taken it over? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) lol

Do u have any estimativa of how Decred mining dificulty will rise ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Any ideas on how many ASICS are been released to miners? Cosidering that an halong/innolsilicon hashrate is 2.1Th/s and the network peak was 10200 TH/s, roughly 4000-4500 ASICs are online mining add that Obelisk sold 8500 DCR1 with an hashrate of 1.2TH/s we can expect at least a doubling in the next 3-4 months. Yep, so unless the sia-tech folk can have that much more ASIC power than there original batch calculator (10k) said on batch one of 30% inflation a month when I asked ..looking more like 100% inflation a month..thus without the sia-tech storage solution decentralized method at 1 buck to 10 buck amazon price..getting done and getting customers asap...we are screwed....too much capacity ...not enough adoption...and all them asic's just pumping out coin...driving the price down better minds then me ..chime in..I'd love to be wrong! brad DCR was a fraud from the start ~ total self serving ego driven greed :\ zero real world value.

I don't really believe in most of these BTC clone, but the developer will need to do alot of work to get this listed on a bigger exchange, 0.14BTC is the 24 hour trading volume, that is very low, if the developer can approach coinexchange, cryptopia or Livecoin, the trading volume should pick up

This is why Qtum being the first PoS smart contact platform is such a big deal.
True, I cant wait until we are able to see QTUM its virtual machine X86. QTUM really builds stuff instead of hype, lets see how many Ethereum projects will switch to QTUM midterm. where's earlz? your dev who helped build BTI? ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) >_> has he been mia for a minute? ===> https://freiexchange.com/market/BTI/BTC

I think that we should not expect any innovative innovations and useful features. Moreover, the platform does not bear any value even in the form of an additional source of income from the duplication and distribution of free tokens.
BTI has a real growing community and is developing an open sourced coinmarketcap app ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) weeeeeeeee BTCP was fun now go all in BTI ftw!! ===> https://freiexchange.com/market/BTI/BTC

I see UbiQ has developed very well and the team treats everything seriously and seriously. They have created a market of their own!

Remember the Google spreadsheet to track all the movements of your tickets with all the statistics since you started the POS mining? We came in version 1.0! Update the spreadsheet https://decred.livre.to/poscontrolNow it is able to store backup and work even in case of dcrdata API failure and we can use two ticket addresses at the same time. Enjoy! I can't tell...what public API is supplying DCR data for this sheet? Data is brought through the DCRDATA API: https://github.com/decred/dcrdatapftt~and still no FAUCET ? :\ WTF?
