2561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet that supports BTC on PC (Extension) on: March 23, 2022, 01:39:39 PM
I've never used any extension wallet for bitcoin, I don't advise it. Especially for a newbie, you might compromise your own fund by using one if there's any.

Because with most of the extension wallets, this is where many have been thinking how they've been hacked. Well, if it's from unknown source, that's one possible reason. But due to some tactics of these hackers, you may not know that you're already targeted by them and you've given your private keys or seed phrases voluntarily.

That's why, it's advisable to use hardware wallets or those other desktop wallets that are well trusted by the community like electrum, bitcoin core, wasabi and samourai.

~snip~

no additional updates coming from the OP. but the list itself is not complete. so don't know if they are pushing thru this award. are they going to give the consumer's choice to the 2nd one in the poll because right now the leading one is the other here.  Tongue

if this will not push thru. they can always create a new one. at least got some insights on how to make this a successful or better one. sometimes suggestions from the community are valid.
Well, they've started it out, and for sure that they're going to push it through. If OP isn't back yet, we have to wait and see if he's going to consider all of the suggestions that have been said.

It's not even a forceful award so, whether we like it or not. They are still the ones that has the say to whether to push it or not and grant all of those suggestions that has been given to them.
2563  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or altcoins on: March 22, 2022, 12:35:40 PM
Altcoins's position is getting stronger after the presence of a stable coin, before the presence of a stable coin, Bitcoin becomes the first place to divert assets because it is considered safer than Altcoins, of course, many Altcoins have a strong reputation such as BNB, Matic or Cardano which continues to be developed which is very valuable in the future.
It's no doubt that there are altcoins that have a good status in the market and they're also reliable and trusted by many investors. And that fact is backed by their market cap, although some projects that are not that good has also a hefty market cap.

And do not forget that whenever the altcoins market is pumping, it's all due to the pump that bitcoin is doing. That's why before anything else for a pump, bitcoin is the first to make it.
2564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 19 Million BTC in two weeks' time on: March 22, 2022, 07:29:28 AM
Fun fact: we're already halfway away from the next Bitcoin halving(or halvening, whatever). It totally felt like the last halving was just less than a year ago.
Very true.

I guess it's because of the time that quickly passed due to the covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns.

It is a mix of feelings negatives and positives seeing the people becoming more and more poor daily and perceiving that the prices measured  in bitcoins are historically cheaper.
I'm having the excitement about how much it would be in the next years. Before and after the next halving by 2024. We're overwhelmed with the bull run that it got for 2 years and it's not yet stopping right now.

The growth of it was really a lot and what's more in store for the next upcoming years.

Fiat savings make no sense to me anymore, unless one find huge interest rate (with no risks).
It's okay to save some cash since we're still in the pandemic and war is there that affects the globe and  not all stores and supermarkets accepts bitcoin.
2565  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blockchain Casinos - Consumer's Choice! on: March 21, 2022, 07:48:42 PM
I cast my vote and I've voted for Betfury some of the casinos in that list do not have announcements here but we never know if there are players here in Bitcointalk only five people cast their votes
There are those crypto casinos that don't have an announcement thread on the forum and they probably don't know this forum exists. Or, they don't think that the forum will add to their userbase and get more potential customers.

I hope if there are valid complaints about casinos listed in that poll you will take it down, to put the poll in high standard.
I agree, if the casino that's on the poll have more negative reviews, they shouldn't include it in the poll. There are the other casinos that are not there too like playbetr.

Welcome to the bitcoin forum and community.

With those resources given to you, you need to take time reading them and as a friendly tip. You need to be watchful with the scammers try to scam you.

They're eyeing for those newbies and people that are asking the same questions because you're vulnerable and they're likely to scam people that are just new to the market.
2567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT Sending Fees on: March 21, 2022, 10:27:12 AM
To see how much the fee costs as of the moment, you can use this website: https://ethgasstation.info/

And to have an idea and to calculate how much it will cost you to transfer. Check this gas calculator by ethgasstation.

https://legacy.ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php

Well, that's for the USDT in Eth network. Honestly, it has reduced currently because I've seen the gwei has been to high for the past months compared today.
2568  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China and taiwan on: March 21, 2022, 07:49:58 AM
Taiwan is allied with the US and that's why they don't mind taking a war and stand against China's bullying. For the other relations and allies, they have the other big countries on their back.

Foreign relations of Taiwan

But Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) really thinks that he can defend himself but with the reality and its position as a small country, they might have to choose what's best for them.

Yeah, it's time for the re-unification of Mainland China and Taiwan.
I agree to their unification, we just don't want to have another war to happen and in the end, they'll eventually reunite.

Unfortunately the Liquid vs OG game today is moved tomorrow due to a bug related to the neutral camps.
I thought that it's going to be the game day today.

But still, what a worth it time to wait for this match. It's liquid and OG, we know how these tier 1 teams play and I think this is one of the few times to see a match being postponed because of a bug.

Unlike before, when there's a bug, there's an exploitation and abuse for those bugs and they're quick in patching it during the tournament to avoid further abuse.
2570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bull market on: March 20, 2022, 09:38:58 PM
I don't think the market is clearly bullish or bearish right now. I think that instead, we're in the zone of stagnation, of a certain price limits within there's a lot of movement, but out of which Bitcoin doesn't normally get. It's been the case for nearly three months now, almost since the beginning of 2022. Bitcoin has been between $35k and $44k for all this time, usually staying between $37k and $42k. It's not a bad price and not a bad development. I don't think Bitcoin's going down significantly any time soon, but perhaps it's not ready to strongly break the $40k threshold and move up from it. But it's only been a few months, so I don't think it's a big deal.
I reckon.

The market seems to be stagnant but we can also say that it's doing good because it's more than half already from the past ATH that it had. These prices that we have recently were not really a bad price.

We can say that the market has been stagnant but that's not a negative thing to say but it's the other way and still a positive thing to take. While the other coins, they didn't even made a new ATH and became stagnant in a negative way.
2571  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN will rise on: March 20, 2022, 08:47:21 PM
I see bitcoin price start to grow and improve. From the last few months bitcoin has indeed been in a bearish phase, and now bitcoin has shown its bullishness, maybe it's time for the price to start rising,
The price has risen but that's not an indication that we're already bullish, or did we really got into the bearish market? Long term holders who have been holding under $20k and $10k will say that there's no bearish market that came to the market when the bull run started on 2020.

Or if there is, then those were the usual plummets/corrections that really has to happen when it pumped that much.

and I think now is a good time to buy, because we see that there are fewer stocks and more people adopting bitcoin.
Think of it before buying, if you think that the price is lower this time and you don't mind holding for quite a long time, yeah good time to buy.
2572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins will explode in 2022? on: March 20, 2022, 07:50:13 PM
SOL and SAND for me.

It's becoming common that there are projects that are working under SOL and that's what happened with Ethereum before on how it has increased its value.

Due to those projects and sales, the price of its main crypto which is the SOL and with the help of those projects that have been running under its network, that's how its value is going to increase.

As for the Sand, is like one of the known projects in terms of Metaverse.
2573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do altcoins represent themselves for the first time? on: March 19, 2022, 11:46:24 PM
I am doing a research on cryptocurrency market & I was wondering if there are any platforms specific for representation.
Inside the forum, you're going to see them usually posting their announcement threads on these sections: Announcements (Altcoins) and Tokens (Altcoins).

So, right now, there are a lot of projects that are in there. Usually, the sign that a project is new there is that there are only a few pages on that thread.

And outside the forum, you can search for websites like this:

Yeah, the first map did really make huskar dominated but in the 2nd game, it didn't do any good anymore. That's the usual thing that happens with huskar pickers, if there's the 2nd game, they're usually counter-picked or being counter played.

Did you still bet for LBZS? Yang is back on VG and they've beaten LBZS for 2 games.
What's funny with that Huskar play and counters is that in the first game Huskar was first pick and they had all their picks to counter it and failed. In second map it was 4th pick so they did not have many picks to counter it and still they won.

I did not place the bet in the end. I got emergency at work and forgot about. Don't even know how it finished.
Nice, because if you do, that's a loss for you.

Well, these pro teams know really how to do it the 2nd time an opponent has picked huskar to them. The counter plays are essential and common to them.

And if the first game and the team with the huskar won, if there's any possibility of using it again, they really are going to use it for the 2nd time. But this hero isn't good with that, and that's why they've seen it as a wrong thing to do.
2575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question on: March 19, 2022, 09:53:39 PM
Thank you for that additional info, yes, before trust wallet is open-source but with Binance taking over that's one of the changes that has happened. I've read old threads about it that says, they really are open source. Sad to say that they're still saying that they are an open source through their dev page.
Yes, trust wallet was an open source project till Binance aquisition in 2018. At first, they claimed that only the android version is no longer open source and they made its repository private to prevent scammers from copying it  which I find unconvincing. But if you check their github, you will see that even the iOS version hasn't been updated for more than three years.
Everything that Binance takes over is becoming centralized, that's to be expected since they have the ownership and right with it.

I don't use this wallet but if it's about the local jurisdiction on who can use it, there could be some info that can be found there if that's what Op wants to look at.
I read their ToS and I think this is the most important part:
We may still refuse to let certain people access or use Trust Wallet
MetaMask started blocking access from certain sanctioned countries and I wouldn't be surprized if trust wallet does the same.
Yeah, that's possible that they can block those users if they want to. But with CZ's stand on this war, he's still neutral so I think that's a statement that people should be relying on that there won't be any blockage for users within those regions that's part of the war.

Expected loss on Tundra as they somehow got outdrafted on the first map, even though they held on pretty well their cores barely did much as CK fell off mid game as Entity had so much aoe to kill off his illusions.
That was actually a good start by Entity.

Nice try for huskar on the 2nd game but it didn't do, they shouldn't play with the same hero just because they've won since it would be easier for teams like Tundra to counter that hero through game play.

Still, they've won on 2nd and 3rd game.
I watched that whole series and it was quite entertaining. In first map Huskar destroyed Tundra draft after getting a couple of items but Tundra showed that they are better team in other two maps and took the series.

We have Vici against Lbzs early tomorrow and I am thinking about taking Lbzs to take at least one map. Somehow just feels better to bet on underdogs taking one map than on favorite to win 2:0. You have 2 chances at success Smiley

Counter after counter and this is something a very common behavior between teams between matches on which if they do saw that it did really beat them up with that draft then if its not banned
on next game then most likely it would be picked up again which it is really that normal that there would be repetitive kind of picks. I agree on that CK illusions which is easily been wiped
and the rest is really talking about being outdrafted but as said they do able to make out some adjustments.
They're learning from their loses and that's a normal reaction from these teams, they're all professionals and that's how to do it whenever they've been surprised with an unexpected pick.

Everyone is free to use it but if you want to make sure then you can read their TOS.
You shouldn't believe everything you read in their terms of service.
They claim that trustwallet is open-source, but they are lying. Trustwallet used to be an open-source wallet. But, now it's close-source.
If I'm not wrong, trustwallet was open-source until it was bought by binance.
Thank you for that additional info, yes, before trust wallet is open-source but with Binance taking over that's one of the changes that has happened. Is save and legal to transfer Things in it ?
There's no need to worry about legality if it's just about using and transferring a balance from one wallet to your trust wallet. Everyone is free to use it but if you want to make sure then you can read their TOS.

https://trustwallet.com/terms-of-services/

If you're storing bitcoin, I'll just keep it to a wallet like electrum if I don't own a hardware wallet.

It had worked for Ukraine when infras were destroyed where could be data centers, banks and other finance related buildings were operating that led them to stop operation so using and owning cash there is truly a big problem.

In times like this, it's proven that bitcoin has remained strong and usable and it's also a place to save wealth by those affected people. It's an all-in-all asset that can be considered when the bad and worst times come like a war.
