Portland got a home game against Nets last night and it was really competitive too. In the absence of Lillard, Portland still did just fine by defeating Nets 114-108. There is no player as I can call him "played superbly" because there was no player who scored even more than 30 points. Irving played for Nets again and did well by 22 points and 8 rebounds. KD got a double-double having 28 points and 10 rebounds. As Harden got a knee injury, his situation was going to be clear right before the game started. And he couldn't play. If he was able to, then Nets would have won this I think.

Milan's determination has come back as it seems. They have been winning for three weeks consecutively. Inter can still get 4 points ahead of them when they play their absent match and win it. But I believe that Inter will start struggling at some point. And this will be the golden and maybe even the only opportunity for Milan to get past them and keep a good gap with them. I just want to see the competition going on and not ending early like in last season.

When I look at the current view of the standings of the league, I can see that Real Madrid and Sevilla both have opened a big gap with the rest of the teams. The gap between Real Madrid and Sevilla is 5 points and Sevilla have a match missing. And Sevilla are 10 points ahead of the team at the 3rd position which are Betis now. We are still in the middle of the season and many things can change. But I still don't think that the first two will change until the end. We will just see a competition for the championship between them.

There is not much time left for the Southampton - Brentford match. I think that none of these teams are the clear favourites. They are close teams actually if we take their place in the standings into account. And they both are out-of-form right now. I'm curious whether Southampton will make use of the stadium advantage. I'm favouring them in this one but it would still be a close score at the end.

The opening match of the coming week is going to be Dortmund - Freiburg as it seems. This is one of the hardest matches of the league for both of these teams without a doubt. Dortmund are better now and there is a gap of seven points between them in the standings. But Dortmund must win this at all costs not to fall behind Bayern Munich more again. Dortmund proved that they are a very capable team in fact. We saw it in the Frankfurt match. I hope they can win again.
All eyes will be on Borussia and Bayern games this week. Borussia Dortmund have to beat Freiburg. Bayern will easily overtake Köln. The difference in points should not widen any further. If Dortmund doesn't win in this match, then there will be no point in Bayern losing last week. Freiburg drew 2-2 with Arminia in the last match. Köln beat Hertha 3-1. I wouldn't be so sure about Bayern Munich if I were you. Because Koln are one of the teams not to be underestimated these days. They have been on a really nice win streak recently. They won three weeks in a row and we see them at the 6th place being right behind Leverkusen now. Besides, I know also that Koln couldn't have defeated Bayern Munich home in the Bundesliga since February 5, 2011. They lost all of the matches from that day to this. Maybe Bayern Munich can benefit from this psychological superiority and beat them once more. |

Kessie might be close to Real Madrid this time. Because Real Madrid are in the search of a solid midfielder also I guess. If the situation wasn't like that, they wouldn't be after Paul Pogba also. As Pogba still hasn't extended his contract with Manchester United, I think that Real Madrid would target him first before Kessie. And meanwhile, PSG might want to benefit from this and sign a deal with Kessie. But we'll see. |

Inter are really an amazing team in this season. They are still maintaining their delightful streak as they managed to defeat Lazio too. It is eight matches in a row now. I really wonder what team are going to be the one to stop them. On the other hand, I see that they have even a more difficult match up next. It is an away match against Atalanta. We all know that Atalanta are in a much greater shape than Lazio. I strongly believe that Atalanta will end Inter's winning streak.

I really don't want Manchester City to go through this season alone without another competitor. Chelsea, Liverpool must be able to compete with them for the title at the end of the season. I don't think Liverpool should give up now to win the title and leave Manchester City undisturbed in the table. I know City have quality players, but they are still possible to beat.
Liverpool have chances to make the difference with Manchester City to 8 points, but we have to win them all without problems. But if Manchester City can't be beaten by Chelsea then it's very likely that we will find it difficult to catch up. I hope Manchester City lose this weekend.
I definitely agree with you. And I assume that most people are thinking in the same way too. Because I really consider this league as the most delightful and biggest league in Europe now. As a result, I expect the competition to go on until the end for certain. But when a team have a this much dominance, they are just ending the whole charm of the league. So I hope to see that at least one of the Liverpool-Chelsea duo can catch up with them and maintain the rivalry for the title. |

Atletico Madrid - Manchester United draw is going to be an interesting one too. There is still more than one month to go for the current round to start of course. But we can still make some predictions considering the current conditions of these teams. And I see that they are both in a similar condition now. They both are still struggling in their domestic league matches. So it is really hard to see any of these teams as a favourite. But in my opinion, Manchester United can still be considered one step ahead.

It is interesting to see that Lyon are still in the lead by 1-0 against PSG. PSG seem to be dominating the match by their performance but they are struggling to score even one goal. Lyon are getting a little more closer to a victory every minute. And I would really like to see them winning too. Because the league has started becoming really boring as PSG have opened the gap with the second team in the standings a lot.

I think that the Roma - Juventus match has already become an unforgettable one in the Serie A. It is never easy to make a comeback from a 3-1 disadvantage. Juventus did this even against a competitor like Roma in an away match. It was really similar to the Frankfurt - Dortmund match actually. Dortmund also make a similar comeback from a disadvantage of two goals. The only difference was that Juventus got a red card after this. And Roma missed a penalty only two minutes after that. It was insane!

I'm really impressed by Real Madrid's awesome performance yesterday against Valencia. Real Madrid were already the favourite club to win the match but this was more than expected for me. A 4-1 victory must be very satisfying for Real Madrid. It is a great win after being defeated by Getafe unexpectedly. Real Madrid were going to stumble at some point and it was the time. But they still moved on by this match seemingly.

While people were talking about the Everton - Leicester match tomorrow, the match was postponed unfortunately. It is due to covid-19 as always. Covid-19 has been just tearing this league apart too. This was already a missing match for both teams and it has been postponed once more. I don't know until when things will go on like this. I hope to see covid-19 leaving football alone after winter.
