Isn't that a killer logo on that page?   Smiley

Not really, coz it has "coin".

Nxt is not a coin

I sent myself some NXT coin to my wallet from the dgex.com exchange and it hasn't showed up for almost an hour now. Is this normal? When should it be showing up?

maybe 12 hours if your lucky...it's normal we have been dealing with it for some time now....we hope to hit more exchanges shortly.

good so messaging will generate a lot of transaction fees....I am repeating that there is a strong demand for anonymous messaging we need to move fast on this....we can really win the market if we move fast...there is real market demand.

maybe we should increase the resources devoted to this feature

Task #1 is to increase number of nodes available on the Internet.

wouldn;t messaging increase the node count as msg senders & receivers would count as nodes if their account was unlocked and client was running?

@ Come-from-Beyond.....when messaging is implemented will each msg sent be treated as a separate transaction?....cuz if we judge by alias launch we crossed 10,000 transaction per day which is off the charts.

messaging could go into the millions.....we should move fast im implementing messaging cuz Bittorrent just launched a peer to peer messaging service in Alpha.

Each message == separate transaction.

will there be a weight of NXT attached to each stakeholder's vote?  cause 1 account = 1 vote is easy to scam

This will be 1 NXT = 1 vote.

pls implement this feature ASAP

IF cfb advises against it then fine...

CFB is just a programmer and one of lesser stakeholders. Ppl should stop thinking that I'm an official spokesperson.

You are also our only connection to BCnext at this point: the next Satoshi's second. On this note, I take this opportunity to thank you for all your support here. I've been following the thread and discussions from the beginning without necessarily being active, and can only admire your patience and generosity to help. Please don't disappear after dev Smiley

hell yeah dude I wanna party with CfB next year when our rocket hits the moon!  Im bringing vodka

Sorry for the stupid question but the secret phrase to use in localhost:7875/alias.html is the secret phrase for your nxt account?

Yes

I just tried to register an alias and I got: {"transaction":"9572417790216964671"}

what does it mean?

It means that u sent a transaction and its id was 9572417790216964671.

so this transaction id will only show up in the blockchain explorer after block 22000? and the 1 Nxt fee will be charged

No. It was ignored by the network so u have to reassign the alias after block 22000.

ok thks...tmmr is sure gonna be exciting

The more I learn about Nxt, the more excited I get about it.  Do we have future dates for certain Nxt milestones?  Source code release, others?  Maybe it's all based on blocks so we don't have dates?

Source code release: JANUARY 3rd, 2014!

The system has to safeguard customers fiats ....that control should not be in the hands of individual node operator/owners....a person can have a good reputation and still run away with a large amount of fiat at the right time.

lets remove this possibility entirely.

...by eradicating all the fiat.

So how will people be able to trade on the Nxt Asset Exchange if they don;t have Nxt.....and to obtain Nxt they would need to buy them with fiat thru the Nxt Asset Exchange itself....so there will be a point where Fiat/Nxt will have to be exchanged at particular points in the system.

or I think you mean that Nxt will be the only medium used on the Nxt Asset Exchange...NO FIAT pricing anywhere in the system.

you can enter the Nxt AEX and buy a house, car, alias or gold...whatever and pay in Nxt via this 24/7 Global decentralized marketplace.

You can always trade Nxt for goods and services without converting to fiat or other cryptocurrencies.  Nxt's decentralized marketplace/auction will help facilitate this exchange.  There will also be gateways operated by individuals that issue fiat or cryptocurrency IOUs and these can be traded in a decentralized manner.

isn;'t Fiat just an IOU  Grin

Ok, so if the issuer just disappers with your fiat, you can do nothing about it, right?

Well, the centralized unregulated exchange (which is most of them right now) can always disappear too.

The difference is, when you have few centralized exchanges, they are easy to shut down.

When you have decentralized individuals, nobody can shut them down, except they can disappear on their own, just like centralized unregulated exchanges can do the same when they think they got enough and it's time to go to a beach Smiley but then I am sure there has to be some sort of reputation system in place, that allows to record feedback about a certain participant, like on ebay for example.

Those with higher reputation can charge higher fees....this way there will be an incentive to not cheat....if you are trusted them you charge more for your service.

or there can be a time factor included....as a specific node cannot withdraw funds for a certain amount of time or till the transaction is complete....can this be coded in??
