@ Come-from-Beyond.....when messaging is implemented will each msg sent be treated as a separate transaction?....cuz if we judge by alias launch we crossed 10,000 transaction per day which is off the charts.

messaging could go into the millions.....we should move fast im implementing messaging cuz Bittorrent just launched a peer to peer messaging service in Alpha.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

VOTE FOR NEXTCOIN (NXT) TO GET IT ON CRYPTSY!

Training on cryptsy could be done without fees by storing trades in their database and then calculate the result on withdrawal. For network it would be better to wait until trading would be built in the client

whoa whoa on coinmarket cap "999,997,986"  Huh?? are coins destroyed in the process of alias registrations? if this is going to continue? there are more than 1 billion combination of words t say the least..and as long as alias registration is possible and as nxt gets popular, then the nxt currency is eventually doomed? Am I wrong?

No. Those were destroyed prior to alias, has nothing to do with it.

ok good. But who and why were they destroyed?  whats the process to destroy coins?

@CfB,

so if there is at least 1 confirmation, the alias is binded to the account or may still get lost? What was that about 700+ confirmations? I am sorry I didn't get that part.

good so messaging will generate a lot of transaction fees....I am repeating that there is a strong demand for anonymous messaging we need to move fast on this....we can really win the market if we move fast...there is real market demand.

maybe we should increase the resources devoted to this feature

1 confirmation is like 0 confirmations. U should wait for 2 or better for 10 ones. But even 100 confirmations can be "cancelled" by blockchain reorg. The only number that guaratees 100% irreversibility is 720 confirms, this is due to algorithmic limitation on largest block reorg depth.

ah ok, 10 confirmations is pretty safe then, unless we have a blockchain reorg which would be a major event?

Nxt price is increasing, so tx fee will be a little expensive. It seems that Nxt will place 2~3 digits very soon, and tx fee may be 1 cent.

So those who buy alias name will lose definitely. Several days later, I can buy a name 1 cent. If you got a good name today at price 1 Nxt, that is 100 times expensive than 1 cent. Of course, it is okay because you got a good name, but it's not so good if you took more than 10 or 100 Nxt to get a name today.

Lock ur account back and wait for complete blockchain download. Restart ur client a few times if u happen to connect to peers that run old version and stuck on their own branch.
