How would you like to pay?

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/terms-outside

Receipt of Payments; Risk of Reversal of Transactions; Collection of Funds you owe PayPal. When you receive a payment through the Service, unless you follow the steps necessary to qualify for our Seller Protection Policy described in Part VII of this User Agreement, you are not protected against a subsequent reversal of the transaction. In the event that the sender's transaction is reversed for any reason and you do not qualify for the Seller Protection Policy for that transaction, you will owe PayPal for the amount of the reversed transaction plus any fees imposed on PayPal as a result of the reversal. Examples of such a reversal include, but are not limited to, a credit card reversal by the sender of the payment, and a reversal of the transaction because the sender of the payment was using a stolen credit card or unauthorized bank account. PayPal will seek to recover the funds from you by debiting your PayPal balance and, if there are not sufficient funds in your PayPal balance, PayPal reserves the right to collect your debt to PayPal by any other legal means. If you open a Premier or Business Account after October 11, 2001, you authorize PayPal to debit your bank account linked to that PayPal account for the amount that you owe PayPal on transactions which were not covered by the Seller Protection Policy and which were not recoverable from your PayPal balance.

Reversals
The party receiving funds in a transaction may be subject to reversals occurring within the account if claims are made by the sending party or by the sending party's financial institution.
You understand and agree that:
● If there is a reversal of a payment to you, you will be liable to Veridian for the full amount of the reversed payment plus a fee in the amount of $15 ("Reversal fee"). The reversed payment plus the reversal fee is the "Reversal Liability."
● Reversals are debited by Veridian in the Veridian Holding Account and will be reflected in Your Dwolla User Account. /p>
● If You do not have a balance in Your Dwolla User Account that is sufficient to cover Your Reversal Liability, the remaining balance in Your Dwolla User Account (if any) will be used to cover the Reversal Liability, and You authorize Dwolla, acting on behalf of Veridian, to take any of the following actions:
         1. Debit your attached Bank Account in the amount of the unpaid portion of the Reversal Liability;
         2. Suspend Your User Account and require you to take immediate actions to repay the unpaid portion of the Reversal Liability; and/or
         3. Engage in collection efforts to recover the unpaid portion of the Reversal Liability.

You guys are talking censorship and central authority.  This is a free market.  It's the wild west and until it evolves some people are going to get hurt.  And when folks find they no longer have the stomach for it (pirate investors/PPT's/former friends of matthew) they'll hop the next stage coach back east.

I think what we really need is an adult forum and the kiddie forum.

2591  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitPay Exceeds 1,000 Merchants Accepting Bitcoin on: September 11, 2012, 05:45:01 PM
I've been looking for a way to accept bitcoin AND credit cards / paypal whatever, but where I as a merchant get paid in bitcoins. I.e. any fiat payments are converted by the provider. I'd accept a delay and the exchange rate risk. Right now I'd have to use bitpay + something else, and manually go buy bitcoins on an exchange.

What's holding you up?
2592  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitPay Exceeds 1,000 Merchants Accepting Bitcoin on: September 11, 2012, 05:09:43 PM
how cute, its like a lil credit card company. keep up the good work guys and you'll be bought up by one of the big boys soon.

Are  you contributing to the dialogue or just trolling??
2593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It seems irreversible payments are a paradigm shift: Scams everywhere. on: September 11, 2012, 04:10:29 PM

Maybe we need some democratic process to decide the further governing of bitcoin.
It is badly needed and Satoshi won't help here.
It's up to us.

This is how the dev team works you know...

I agree to an extent.  I think bitcoin has made some great strides and this forum has aided greatly in self regulation.
I'd say yes and no.
This forum works as social grease.
So naturally it helps some in self regulation as some users want to use the forum for that.
But the other side of the coin is that it also aided in the incubation of scams in a supposedly safe social environment.
I would say that the forum is agnostic in this respect were it not for the operators that seem to enjoy games being payed around.
The question is whether this moral agnosticism is the center this forum should operate around if it wants to provide a platform that can cultivate the bitcoin community.

I don't agree.  The forum staff is actively involved in policing the form where scammers are involved.  Look at TizzyTazzy, BTC Guy and TheBitMan. The Form and mods/admins were instrumental in the outcomes of these issues

Einstein had faith.  The theory of relativity was pure inspiration.

And a little plagiarism. : )

They do have similar writing styles. Big wall o' text and all.

You're saying that is what led to the scammer tag?
