mining bitcoin used to be quite profitable because bitcoin is easily mined way back when bitcoin is just starting but right now it will now depends on your location. why? because some places, electric bill(most costly in the long run) is still cheap
so if i were you calculate the investment for mining, if it's feasible then do so
if not then maybe buy bitcoin instead, but why are you buying bitcoin? just for an investment or trading or gambling?
for me just buying bitcoin and doing nothing is pretty boring but less risky so you choose

I think the only thing they will ban are the ICO advertisements.

some people abuse other people by making ICO and will let them believe in false advertisements that will cause them to invest

it depends on how you handle it, it may be a stress if the coin you're holding is stagnant, no ups and downs

the altcoins are registered in exchange sites, so if you noticed some of the exchange sites doesn't have some of the alt coins of the other trading sites, because the owner of those coins need to register on that coins

forums like bitcointalk, reddit, subscribed email and forum of online gambling casino sites
most of the information on subscribed email are the ones I trust or I rely more since the persons who wrote those emails are big persons as far as I know
you can get informations to social media sites too but uhmm to many scammy informations that will lead you astray

the huge jump last year November and December affected the mindset of people that bitcoin is going down. it is just returning to its orginal price
with regards to you selling your house for bitcoin I think that's a big gamble. Bitcoin is volatile but maybe stable on price ranges so it might be a long road for you to wait for bitcoin to rise up again. think twice
