is there escrow?

I'm willing to ship to John K first if buyer pays escrow fees. Also, this is not my first group buy.

if i pay escrow fees + money to John K, why would you ship it to him? lol

For escrow I would ship to John K, then he would ship to you. Or I suppose we could agree on simpler escrow terms. Send me a PM and let me know what you are looking for.

there's a reason you ship to me upon him receiving my money because i can't withdraw it. it works both ways... you're making me pay double shiping at the point for no reason really.

Well in genesis block its 3 months at that price. I used the one put earlier and i wont get back btc. http://www.btcinvest.net/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=65750060.149085&dcosts=8400&diff_mincrease=40&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=240000&diff_mincreasedecrease=5&btcusd=100&dpowcon=0&btcusd_mincrease=5&pcost=0.345&calcweeks=52&dleadtime=2&action=calc#

Could you lower prices even more to the break even for folks here. 2.9BTC for > 20 would be a nice price.
You could roi in 3 months.. and you want it to be  even quicker? O.o

Which calculator are you using?

Take a look at those products:
http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Automation-Switch-Apple-iPhone/dp/B0089WFPRO/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hi_1

http://www.amazon.com/Visible-Energy-VE-178-US-Power-Center/dp/B0057HX17K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377485851&sr=8-1&keywords=ufo+energy

Both of those products would allow to power on/off an electrical socket over the internet using iPod/iPhone app or a website

One of the reasons I was hoping to run a arduino or raspberry pi was because of the price involved. I was hoping to run around 30 computers or so and this might be a bit costly to buy 30 of those things. If these were say like $8-$10 per I'd totally do it Cheesy. But the arduino seems to be the cheapest among from what I've read. If you could find some reliable ones for cheap I'll pay you some paypal Cheesy.

I use my arduino to control xmas lights each year with 6 of these (need to solder it together):

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11042?

Connected almost the same way as this tutorial:

https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/119

I don't have it online, but with an ethernet shield with arduino and some programming you could make the on/off switches online. I am not too smart with programming though so I am not sure about the online part, someone else (or google) will have to help ya with that.

Basically just have each relay hooked up to a pin on the arduino, send digitalWrite(pin, HIGH); to it for on, which the relay then kicks on the power to your 3 prong female end that has a computer plugged into it, and digitalWrite(pin, LOW); to turn it off.

Either that or you can buy something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Managed-Designed-Manufactured-Synaccess-Networks/dp/B0039OZKPE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1377486420&sr=8-4&keywords=remote+power+strip

This was closest to what I wanted to get together. Someone pm'd me about something but if anyone else has a solution like this please share it Cheesy. Or pm and if you have it finished I'll send you some cash depending a fair offer.
273  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / How can I make a remotely controlled power switch on: August 26, 2013, 02:45:20 AM
I was reading threads from before and I figured out what the solution is, but I just don't know how to go about doing it because I'm a complete nooby at this. Anyways, my goal was to be able to turn on and off a group of computers say 20+ computers by connecting to the motherboards power switches and using an Arduino or Raspberry Pi connected to the web to hard boot or hard reset the computer. Could someone please write me or point me to a step by step guide in configuring something like this? I'll offer up some money if someone could figure this out.

Update:
Cases are ready and have been delivered at our assembly facility.
PCBs have been ordered and will be here by Monday.
Power supplies have been ordered and will here Monday.

We will be assembling a test K64 next week.

Thank you! Smiley

wait... didnt you say that about a month ago? Post pictures please... stop trying to scam us.
lol you like that word "scam" don't you.....

it makes it more motivational for action hahaha

TH should DEMAND double chips from Avalon as compensation, pass them free to us with the additional costs for PCBs etc half the cost (for anyone interested). In case Avalon rejects this I DEMAND as a customer legal action from TH against them.
Shit got serious, I am angry and I expect everyone to start behaving professionally and responsible from now on...

Yes, lead by example! wait.....
Not sure I understand you but I am sure you are not one of those who will just accept losing money without doing something.

I'm not sure what money you are talking about being lost? Currently I still see myself making money even if these units don't get delivered till the middle of next month. Not as much as I had hoped but oh well.

Some people just get too stressed out over their investments because they invested too much.

*Blah blah blah I'm a customer blah blah blah I'm not an investor blah blah blah, then why are you complaining as long as you get your unit you should be happy regardless of how much it mines Wink

In that case why sell your miner Cheesy.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: August 22, 2013, 06:24:31 PM
The following is my final word on this subject. I will shut up forever about it, after this. You are free to pick apart my script, find all the logical flaws with it, modify it, publicly shame/praise it. I don't care.

A lot of people aren't satisfied with theoretical equations. So I created a simulation. I wrote a script in python, it does the following things.

Takes 3 input variables.

  • Average block solve time (a result of the pools hashrate and the network difficulty of the current coin)
  • Worker 1 speed (your slower worker. represents the workers's hashrate in relation to the rest of the pool)
  • Worker 2 speed (your faster worker. same)
  • The sample size. This reduces the random variance over time if high

For each number of sample size, I run one instance of the simulation. Each one represents 1 block of a coin.

I generate a solve time for that block. Our constant variable is the block solve time, which represents an average. I generate a random number between 1/2 of it, and 1.5x of it, this is the solve time for this particular block. Remember, by the very definition of the word average, future values will be evenly balanced across both sides.

I then run a separate simulation, using the same solve clock, for both workers.

For each worker, I generate a random value which is 1/2 to 1.5x of their share solve time. Remember, these values don't have to be real, since all we care about is the relation to the other worker.

I check and see if the value is less than the clock. If it is, I credit the worker with 1 share, and subtract the share solve time from the clock time. I do this until the solve time finally becomes greater than the remaining clock.

Thus, I have simulated the number of shares that worker got from the block.

I do the same for the other worker, who has a faster share-solve-time.

The rest is just calculating and displaying statistics.

Heres the code:

import random

class worker():
    def __init__(self,hashrate):
        self.hashrate = hashrate
        self.sharesolvetime = 60 / hashrate
        self.shares = 0

class pool():
    def __init__(self,blockfindtime):
        self.blockfindtime = blockfindtime

pool1 = pool(500)
worker1 = worker(1)
worker2 = worker(12)
samplesize = 100000

for n in range(0,samplesize):
    clock = random.randint(pool1.blockfindtime/2,pool1.blockfindtime + pool1.blockfindtime/2)
    clock1 = clock
    while clock1 > 0:
        sharesolve = random.randint(worker1.sharesolvetime/2,worker1.sharesolvetime + worker1.sharesolvetime/2)
        if sharesolve > clock1:
            break
        else:
            worker1.shares = worker1.shares + 1
            clock1 = clock1 - sharesolve
    clock2 = clock
    while clock2 > 0:
        sharesolve = random.randint(worker2.sharesolvetime/2,worker2.sharesolvetime + worker2.sharesolvetime/2)
        if sharesolve > clock2:
            break
        else:
            worker2.shares = worker2.shares + 1
            clock2 = clock2 - sharesolve

print "Worker 1 has: " + str((float(worker1.hashrate) / float(worker2.hashrate + worker1.hashrate)) * 100) + ' percent of the hash power'
print "But worker 1 has: " + str((float(worker1.shares) / float(worker2.shares)) * 100) + ' percent of the profit'
print "Over sample size of " + str(samplesize)
print "When worker1's average share-find-speed was: " + str((float(pool1.blockfindtime) / float(worker1.sharesolvetime)

It displays the following stats:

  • What percent of the hash power worker1 has
  • What percentage of the profit (shares) he ended up with
  • What sample size we used
  • What was the ratio of worker1's time to find a share to the pool's time to find a block (another way of saying, how "fast" was the coin)

I will now give you the results of running this script. I will use the same workers speeds, but I will change the block solve time. I will give 5 examples

One important point - the block solve time represents the speed of the coin, we can't do anything about that
The share solve time - that's what we want to effect. Two ways to do this: change your hashrate, or change the share difficulty.

Now then... the results...

Very Slow coin (something like LTC):

Worker 1 has: 7.69230769231 percent of the hash power
But worker 1 has: 7.12127534135 percent of the profit
Over sample size of 100000
When worker1's average share-find-speed was: 8.33333333333X the block-find-speed

Pretty Slow coin

Worker 1 has: 7.69230769231 percent of the hash power
But worker 1 has: 6.6950187416 percent of the profit
Over sample size of 100000
When worker1's average share-find-speed was: 4.0X the block-find-speed

Medium/Fast Coin

Worker 1 has: 7.69230769231 percent of the hash power
But worker 1 has: 5.89708931026 percent of the profit
Over sample size of 100000
When worker1's average share-find-speed was: 2.0X the block-find-speed

Fast Coin

Worker 1 has: 7.69230769231 percent of the hash power
But worker 1 has: 4.07045734716 percent of the profit
Over sample size of 100000
When worker1's average share-find-speed was: 1.0X the block-find-speed

Extremely Fast coin

Worker 1 has: 7.69230769231 percent of the hash power
But worker 1 has: 1.15306809456 percent of the profit
Over sample size of 100000
When worker1's average share-find-speed was: 0.5X the block-find-speed

A quick analysis of the results supports the following conclusion:

There is a skew towards faster miners, in terms of their percentage profit compared to their hashrate, on any pool for any coin. The effect gets exponentially increased as the time for the worker to find a share comes closer and closer to the pool block find rate.

This effect is negligible, and irrelevant for slow coins who have slow block time. However, as share-find-time for slower workers approaches block-find speed for fast blocks, miners begin to lose an extreme amount of profits.

This only takes into account block changes, where the client hears about the new block - there are also rejected shares, where it hears about the new block too late, and happens to solve the share before hearing it (this is what is measurable on the site's stats page), and also coin changes.

Well I guess after my test I can somewhat see this. Thanks again. I might just stick to mining on my own.
