261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 02, 2014, 09:05:37 PM
My windows wallet keeps crashing.

If I remove my wallet.dat file where I have coins from mining today and let it create a new one it works fine.

I then replace with my wallet.dat file with coins and it crashes.

Any ideas?

Again..thank you, but I would still like to understand the process involved in who gets what. It surely isn't following your guidelines for the giveaway. Just a simple comment is all I need.............................

It does seem a little confusing.  Maybe their algorithm is off.  I am noticing this with other people's payouts as well and cannot make much sense of it.

Someone else with 98 received 4510.

I ended up getting my coins today...but agree with above...calculation doesn't seem to follow the activity as was suggested. Still got some free coins though Smiley

Yeah price increase after a bounce in the bitcoin pricing is greedy if you ask me. They thought they would have to dump inventory and now they want to raise prices.

Rented his rig, everything was fairly smooth but it would go down to almost 0 hash every once in a while for between 5-15 min.

I asked him about this and only got an answer the next day once the rental was over saying that it was probably my pool and not his rig.

I did have other rigs connected to the same pools that didn't have those holes in the hashing.

I would rate 7/10

Rented the Shaggy rig on leaserig.net.

Everything ran well for a few hours, and then the rig speed dropped to 2.91 Mhs and stopped submitting shares altogether.  It did this for about 45 minutes, and then started back up again.

After another hour of running at the advertised rate, the speed dropped to 2.91 Mhs again, and it stopped submitting shares for about 45 minutes (which is where it's still at).

The interesting thing here is that while the rig isn't doing anything, it's still reporting a hash rate of 2.91 Mhs, so there wouldn't be an offline notification.

Perhaps the provider would be so kind as to shed some light on what's happening behind the scenes?  :-)

I noticed the same thing and I rebooted my rig both times. As you mention I did not get a message to let me know the rig was down I just happen to be checking it since I am new and want to make sure evreything runs smooth. Both times I see the hash speed on sgminer but I see that no shares are being submitted.

I have had issues when the pools are switched and it would freeze the rig but this is not the case in this situation. The rig doesn't freeze the pool just seems to stop requesting work or sgminer stops submitting requests.

Would you mind switching to your secondary pool and see if the problem happens again?

Also if you could send me a message if something else happens. I would likely get a PM faster then I would check my reputation thread.

I would like to know more about this freezing situation?  Normally providers experience software freezes with rigs that are very highly or well tuned to their own pools.  After adding to leaserig a lot of people find that pool switching and multi-pools cause some thermal imbalance and crashes with tuned GPU rigs.

0 Share reporting while speeds still show is not something I've seen.

My rig freezes when the renter choose to switch pools or when pool 0 goes dead and it tries to switch to the backup pool.

Now it seems the speed was going from 3.65 mhs to 2.xx mhs on my screen yet no shares going through.

Since renter moved to ghash.io pool rig has been stable.

Not a problem, I'll do that right now.

I should probably point out though that I have other leased rigs mining to the same pool from multiple different locations.  This is actually the first issue I've seen today.

I'll also take a look at the sgminer api implementation to verify compatibility with the leaserig platform.  Could you PM me with the rig configuration, and also the version of sgminer you are running?

EDIT:  Actually, now that I am trying to change the pool, the rig seems to not be responding at all.  Tried multiple different pools.  All dead.  Original pool no longer posting shares either.    Undecided

Seems my issue when changing pools is not resolved.

I sent you pm.

Will also add 1.5 hours to your mining rental for problems so far and if more happen during the balance of the rental you will also get more compensation.

272  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LeaseRig.net Rent & Hire SHA/SCRYPT/DARK/QUARK HashPower! on: April 12, 2014, 06:27:29 PM
Hi,

I have setup my rig on leaserig.net using LRP.

Windows 8
5 R9 280x MSI Gaming
Asrock H81 BTC Pro
Sgminer 4.0.0

Everytime someone rents my rig or when the rental is over (changing of pools back to my pool) the system freezes and I have to reboot. When not using Leaserig if I used the change pool command on sgminer it does not freeze my system.

Any ideas?

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Update on above:

I just had a rental. The user put in 2 pools. The first pool address was entered wrong so it could not connect. When it tried to go to backup pool it was ok at first. Then it tried to go back to 1 st pool and everytime it tried this rig would freeze. Even when we got the correct pool address for the main pool it would still freeze if trying to change.

I decided to try the direct connect method to see if the proxy was the cause of the problem. So far it seems it has the same problem. Once connected to a pool it works fine. However any commands to check status of another pool, change pool etc. This will cause rig to freeze and require reboot.

When I run sgminer without api support and request pool changes for my own pool it does not freeze. It will freeze if I try to use Q to quit. If I just close the window itself no problems.

Seems like until I figure this out, it will be hard to rent it out if these problems persist.

In this case I refunded the person the cost of the rental and added 30% of the time left. It is running right now as long as we don't try to change the pool.

Any help will be appreciated.

UPDATE:

Installed 4.1.153 sgminer
installed 1.3.8 cgwatcher
removed gpu settings from sgminer config file for fan, vcc etc left gpu threads
added all settings in the argument line in cgwatcher

I am able to switch pools using the admin on leaserig and so far it doesn't freeze my rig

Could the problem be solved?

Once someone rents again (which I will refund if it doesn't work) I can find out!

Anyone else noticing problems mining dogecoin at the moment?

I have my own p2pool node and no blocks since 2:30pm EST. I looked at other nodes same thing. Looked at regular pools they are also no finding blocks. Yet I see new blocks in the chain.

Any ideas?
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RBC closed my commercial bank account for having Bitcoin related activities. on: March 31, 2014, 09:00:17 PM
Hi,

I am just going through the same issue, my accounts are 2 years old. My cross border account was shut down last week by RBC and now my accounts at RBC in Canada have been flagged and I was asked to stop bitcoin transactions or my banking relationship will be terminated. The branch manager informed me that they received instructions to close all RBC accounts (business or personal) that have any bitcoin or suspected bitcoin transactions. Very disappointed in the Canadian banks.

Strange... I was told over skype that paypal was not being accepted anymore due to quota being filled.

Hey, Matt. My PM and email boxes are getting full with requests from those trying to get refunds from you. Any way you can relieve the pressure off me, or is there something about this thread I should be aware of?

Full Disclosure: I have had people express concerns about asiabtc, but to date I've yet to conduct a single search to see what they're all about. That will change if I learnt that you are somehow involved with them in ANY capacity.

~Bruno Kucinskas

There is no business connection between lightningasic and bobsag3. Aside from maybe bobsag placing an order or receiving a sample. This is not related to the miners co-op keep that shit out of here...

If it has to do with the creditability of someone who got a sample for review...I want to know all I can about that person. So it would be relevant.
279  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Big problem, no device detected on: February 15, 2014, 07:26:07 PM
You can also try searching for sgminer

Looks like that is a fork of cgminer but dedicated for scrypt
280  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Best Share (CGMiner) vs Difficulty? on: February 15, 2014, 07:15:22 PM
I might be wrong, but I think if you are mining a SHA256 coin (like BTC, PPC etc) then the difficulty and the share display are the same. (e.g. difficulty is 2.6G, need to difficulty share solve of 2.6G or more)

If you are mining a scrypt coin (Feathercoin, Coino etc) then the difficulty displayed needs to be multipled by 2^16 (or 65536) to give you the comparative difficulty display.

Perhaps someone who knows what they are talking about can confirm?

Cheers
Z

That sounds correct. You would multiple 65536 x the difficulty of that scrypt coin in cgminer and that is the share you must get accepted to block. At least from all my readings that is how I understand.

For example at the time of this writing Dogecoin network difficulty in cgminer shows 1.09K so I would have to find a share of 1,090 x 65,536 = 71,434,240 to find a successful block.
