Well I thought I was ok with 2 PSU with stock AWG16 pci-e cables.

Above pic was from Strider 1200 Gold with stock AWG16 cables. It was running 2 of my 4 KNC Titan cubes.

Oh and if the likely hood of burning down your house is not bad enough...this is what happens when you try to mine a fast coin...most any other coin then LTC...on the Titan

"KNC is not just violating the mandatory 14-day refund laws in their country, but they are refusing to offer refunds for products that they aren’t even shipping in the promised time-frame."  Angry

So glad I did not pull the trigger and try to get a Titan. Buying KNC second hand is the only way to go. No need to actually deal with KNC.

Ah you still want to buy even a used KNC...I have a Titan for sale then, you won't need to deal with KNC Smiley

They also show proof on their own forums, that the courts can use, that they avoid hard questions about the issues by pretending they don't understand the questions. Any judge will see right through these jokers.

Man up KNC answer the hard questions, fix the titan or refund it.

Got my Titan earlier.  I'm actually surprised, everything is working great!  Huh ~320MH/s reported by Titan, ~316MH/s pool side. I'll post more details later when everything inevitably goes to shit.

Please post bfgminer results, what pool, what coin.

Did they not want to pay you to maintain a working version for the Titan, which is not running well and they can't seem to tell us why?
They didn't ask, and I didn't ask.

They should have.

I understand and appreciate that you are not supporting that version. Could you chime in on if you think the version they have running is causing issues concerning coins with fast blocks and fast diff changes? or even merge mining seems to slow down the hashrate.
No idea, the whole "not supporting" is basically just making a note that I don't have one, don't know the platform at all, and cannot answer questions about it at all - it's not that I don't want to, just that I don't have anything to go on.
But maybe KnCMiner's engineers or other users can answer your questions here or elsewhere Smiley

Fair enough.

Unfortunately KNC doens't look like they know or want to fix the issue. They prefer to say that pools are the big problem. However this miner cannot mine anything other then straight LTC(no merge mine) with stability. Even just mining LTC gives the above mentioned errors.

NEW VERSION 4.9.0, OCTOBER 5 2014

Please note that the new Titan driver is maintained by KnCMiner, and neither nwoolls nor myself can provide support for it.

Human readable changelog:
  • titan: Driver for KnCMiner's scrypt ASIC machine.

Full changelog:
  • Upgraded Windows libraries:
    • libcurl from 7.37.0 to 7.38.0
    • libusb from 1.0.18 to 1.0.19 (Win64 only)

I challenge KNCminer to setup a pool, a proper Titan capable pool, for mining alt coins or/and merge mine or/and multipool - profit switching pool.

The pools are not setup to handle Titan EXTREME hash power (OMG) so KNC setup that pool. You must know how to set it up since you KNOW the pool is the issue and not the Titan or Firmware.

Show me a pool that can mine "other scrypt coins" just like is advertised on the product I purchased from you and show me that I can mine at a minimum average speed of 300mhs on it.

Well it seems I won't be getting the answers I am looking for at least not right now.

I don't want to pay 3% to mine on Liteguardian. My hashrate is poor on litecoinpool.org with DOGE merge mining. I can't mine other scrypt coins without getting tons of errors and extreme hashrate volatility. So I setup my own litecoin pool.

Kind of sucks to solo mine litecoin

So I invite the Titan owners to my pool. I have setup 2 ports one for DIFF 1500 and one for DIFF 8192. Both run just as stable as Liteguardian and get me 300mhs with my Titan.

It is based on NOMP. I have set a 1.5% fee.

155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 02, 2014, 09:26:16 PM
It seems to me there are several different issues and not sure if they are all related or not.

1. People report reboots of bfgminer every 3 min or so. Worst problem since you can't mine very well like that

2. Hashing speed of Titan not stable BUT DOES NOT involve a restart of BFGminer.

Luckily, I think, I don't have 1. problem. BFGminer does not restart for me and keeps mining.

My issue is #2

When mining on liteguardian.com which is a litecoin only pool that has an asic specific port with 1500 worker difficulty I get the best hash rate of 300MHS. I do get nonce errors and flushing work errors but hash seems to be fairly stable.

Mining on litecoinpool.org where you can set your own worker difficulty, which I played around with from 1024 to 16384 gets lower hash rate. Averaging between 225 and 260mhs. This pool has DOGE merge mining.

Trying multipool (clevermining, wafflepool) setting my own difficulty and again same ranges available. I get way more rejects 10%+ way more nonce errors and flushing work. Hash rate varies from 100-270 mhs

Trying my own NOMP pool with litecoin I get similar results as liteguardian...however I have not found a block yet Sad

Again on my own NOMP trying different alt scrypt coins like VIA, QTL etc. There I really see what is happening.

VIA has block times of 24 secs with fast coin diff readjustments. This is where I see 90% of the errors occurring. The changes in diff and the fact that blocks are being found very fast, TITAN is not able to keep up with it and is constantly getting none errors, flushing work and tons and tons of rejects. I have tried anything form worker diff of 256 to 32768. In fact the higher the diff I set the worse the results because I am losing more work everytime there is a change.

I don't understand what causes this to happen as I am not well versed in hardware or software but it sure seems from what I am observing in my tests is that the miner is STABLE when mining a coin that does not merge mine and has a stable difficulty and block time is longer. Less errors and better observed hash speed.

On the other hand coins with fast block times and fast diff readjustments cause the titan to be UNSTABLE and have poor performance.

What I don't know is if this is caused by poor pool settings or if it is the hardware/firmware of Titan.

158  Economy / Service Discussion / WARNING ABOUT CRYPTSY on: September 02, 2014, 03:00:39 PM
I want to warn people about Cryptsy.com. I have been having major problems with them and I am not the only one. For over 4 days now I have not been able to make withdrawals of BTCD coins. They get stuck pending. When I contact support I get simple mail saying we are having some issues and there could be some delays. After trying to get more info on chat room I keep getting some users who accuse me of creating FUD about cryptsy. Funny enough I tried to make smaller withdrawals (5-20 coins) of btcd and those get processed right away, until I reached a total of 55 coins then even 25 coin request gets stuck pending. I then went back to chat and stated this including a remark that said " be very careful about cryptsy this brings back flashback of MTGOX " within seconds I get banned from chat for 1 year!!! One thing for sure I am not trying to spread FUD but I do want to let people now what is going on because cryptsy is being everything BUT transparent which is very troubling when you have funds stuck there and can't get them out for days on end. I don't know if this is just plain POOR customer support and there are true technical issues (for quite some time now) or if there are underlying financial issues...all I know is when I made some noise about it I get BANNED from letting people what is going on.

Copy of part of a chat session where I got banned:

@bitdigger2013361: be careful doing a bunch of small withdrawals one after another. You may notice that coins get Double Spent... Keep Track.
JShock
NOTE: Old BTC wallet is now operational again and if you have a pending deposit or withdrawal it should process shortly

Period 17, Day 11 Report - August 19, 2014

Balance Post Divs: BTC 325.40608547

Total Units: 14116

NAV/U: BTC 0.02305228

There should be a dividend for SELL this time?

Yes! Using our handy dandy daily div calculation: 5000000000 * 25 * 86400 * ( ( 65535 / 2^48 ) / Difficulty), where Difficulty is now 23,844,670,039

So, the daily div will now be 0.00010545, making the Reserve 0.00010545 * 200 = .02109.

The exact NAV/U won't be known until tomorrow at 11AM, due to new sells and possible buybacks, but we know that it will be at least today's NAV/U of 0.02305228

The NAV/U of today (0.02305228) less the new Reserve (.02109) = 0.00196228

So, the SELL dividend should be about 0.00196228 !

Excellent, my math skills are still ok Smiley
