How much was invested into this project so far, anyone know?
262  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Open Source pooled mining platform with web interface on: May 25, 2011, 11:44:50 AM
This sounds like a very interesting project, I'll definitely do it.
I'll post my conditions, requirements and a brief RFC tomorrow before going to meet with gavin and some fellow bitcoiners in Paris.

I'll add a $100 USD pledge to this project.
263  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: MinerStatus 0.7.1 on: May 25, 2011, 11:42:07 AM
0.7.1 Beta Release

Quote
- Refactored the code to produce a faster updating process.
- Added some historical record keeping on pool data (not doing anything with this yet - graphs maybe?)

Hey trumpetx - what is the purpose of this software for those of us who don't know?
264  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [PAID] Publish result of Days Destroyed calculation on: May 25, 2011, 11:40:58 AM
This is a bounty award to develop a script to compute the BitcoinDays Destroyed by the transactions in a block.

Description:
Scan all the transactions in the block chain and dump out a .csv file that shows BitcoinDays Destroyed calculation result per block.

Requirements:
  - Accesses block chain using bitcointools  (see the project's statistics.py as an example)
      http://github.com/gavinandresen/bitcointools
  - Developed in python and licensed MIT/X11
  - BitcoinDays Destroyed Calculation following ByteCoin's recommendation:
      http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=6172.msg90789#msg90789
  - [edit: ] accept (optional) block number argument  to produce calculation result total for a single block.

The bounty so far is: 10 BTC

For those of us who are not sure what BitcoinDays Destroy means... what is the value of knowing these numbers?

267  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for partners with 10000+ BTC on: May 25, 2011, 11:33:37 AM
Not ready to give out too much info yet, but a couple of the projects are almost done and we can start showing them.

We specialize in marketing, monetization, advertising, community building, sales & biz dev - so what we'll be using the BTC for might not make sense to someone without this sort of background.

My goal is to help spread the message of bitcoins, introduce it to more average internet users, and of course acquire currency along the way.

cuddlefish - great job on raising the BTC for ubitex, and great job with it! Have you connected with the others who have similar services to see if you guys could work together some how?

error - what are you working on now? Your last couple of projects are very interesting, I bet it's something good.

memorydealers - email sent. Thanks for reaching out.

Gavin, are you guys incentivizing participation in bug squashing with federal reserve notes? If so, where do I mail them?
269  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BitCoin Mining on Xbox 360 on: May 25, 2011, 10:56:10 AM
... The xbox 360 has TERRIBLE hardware for such a thing. I'm not a hater. I JUST got off L.A. Noire on mine. But your computer no matter who you are is better than your xbox. The xbox doesn't need to run an OS or.. anything other than the disk it requires very little hardware.

nice youtube vid! You gonna be doing more bitcoin vids?
270  Economy / Marketplace / Re: (IDEA) BitBay - eBay for BitCoins on: May 25, 2011, 10:23:50 AM
If you have the money, I highly recommend putting a project up on 99designs if you care about the look & feel of the site.

Projects start at ~$500, and unfortunately they don't accept bitcoins yet =)

If someone needs a coupon I can problem get them $80 off, I know I had one laying around just send me a pm and bug me and I'll get it for you!

You shouldn't wait to get involved in bitcoin projects! You have a great mind for what's needed and what people like!

I'm still very interested in Bitcoin and plan to continue working on Bitcoin projects.  The Bitcoin ecosystem can change a lot in a few months.  When that time comes, I'll see what needs can be met and go from there.

If you still have that anti-fraud software available, I'd love to talk to you about licensing it for some of my bitcoin projects to save us some time on that end.

Send me a PM!

I think he's fixed both of these issues, it now uses cdn postal codes and has a distance setting.
274  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ubitex: In-person Bitcoin exchange [EARLY BETA!] on: May 25, 2011, 09:32:55 AM
Awesome project!

Not sure if it's been discussed, but you should at fbconnect and fb like buttons - good way to get the work out, and as more mainstream users start coming online, fbconnect will be valuable for that extra social growth and friend sharing.

275  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinPrices.com - Bitcoin Exchange Rates on: May 25, 2011, 09:27:02 AM
Very well designed site, great job!

Have you been connecting with the other users involved in these types of projects?

276  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for testers on: May 25, 2011, 09:22:04 AM
So if someone with a lot of bitcoin were to delete all those accounts, could new bitcoins be created, or would there be less that many bitcoins in the system forever?
277  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for a BitCoin angel investor partner on: May 25, 2011, 09:00:35 AM
The budget that we have available (USD) for the projects is going towards paying the designers, programmers and marketing/advertising to get the word out to more average internet users.

We've spoken with a few people already who have expressed interest in this venture. Thanks for all who have sent PMs.

Thanks to the trolls as well =P

I'm wary, but intrigued. After what happened with the Bitcoin Credit Union, well, I'm suspicious of everything that is announced by a member with only a few posts.

But I'll give you a chance Wink

What happened with the bitcoin credit union?
