261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 16, 2019, 09:19:47 PM
This is absolutely true, scammers take advantage of the new trend for altcoins and scam gullible crypto enthusiasts. The recent rise and fall of deflationary tokens was a good example. I saw many deflationary tokens launch with no project vision, fake team members doing airdrop and later list unofficially on forkdelta and then DDEX to scam those who will buy on exchange. We just need to be careful, the new trend is for staking and "quantum resistance coins" . Proper due diligence before investing is the watch word.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose DEX? How to avoid scam? on: October 16, 2019, 07:48:54 PM
I mainly use IDEX for trading mostly ERC20 tokens. I used switcheo some time ago for trading NEP5 tokens but I don't know if it's still functional. Binance DEX is where I trade my BEP2 tokens and it's the best from my own personal experience. Main features I consider in a DEX is reputation to avoid scam, average to high speed of operation, fair trading volumes (which is generally low or average for most DEX), and user interface.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Teams showing real faces to public can still scam you on: October 16, 2019, 01:25:00 PM
I am here to confuse people who still think that any new projects that entered crypto space with teams that are able to show their faces on videos and even attend good crypto seminars anywhere around the world have nothing to hide, and they think its real project and far from scam, well the biggest scams in crypto space are able to cater away with that huge money because many believes they are real, The ceo and teams coming out in publics to discuss about the projects doesn't erase the fact that they can scam you.
Bitconnect did the same thing and miracle tele joined too

Thank you for this candid opinion. I made a similar argument just last week in a crypto group on telegram, the fact that team members do videos or attend crypto summits, blockchain events etc doesn't make them 100% genuine. Some use that to lure in investors, then at the end the project turns out to be scam. This doesn't mean they won't list on exchanges, but they won't keep to their promises. Mostly, their vesting period for tokens allocated to team members will be a big shade of lies, since they keep dumping when buy wall increases at any favorable price. Some team members go ahead to do an MVP with no intention to do an actual product, since their main aim is to scam. Well, most team members who show their real identity most likely are not scam, we just have to be careful.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Libra Coin bring Down Bitcoin's dominance on: October 16, 2019, 10:40:02 AM
I would like to play devil's advocate
From this article I read
Quote
“Unlike the volatility seen around other cryptocurrency’s in the past, we believe that Libra’s focus on creating a stable, low inflation currency backed by a reserve or real assets is a differentiator. Further, unlike other stablecoins, Libra will not be pegged to one currency but instead a basket of assets ranging from bank deposits to short-term government securities.”
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/18/the-difference-between-bitcoin-and-facebooks-libra.html

Will Libra Coin bring Down Bitcoin's dominance in the market, your thought?

Well, if it actually ever launches yeah probably it will bring it down, perhaps by a lot. This isn't necesserily a bad thing, and probably it will help the price of BTC skyrocket. Reason is simple. Many everyday people that hadn't touched or even knew about cryptos before will get their hands on someLibra, and a substantial part of them will probably diversify into other coins, with BTC being the top one. IMO, libra could be a deciding factor to mass adoption!

I like your point of view but Libra can only reduce the % of Bitcoin Dominance, that's if it launches, but can never alter the 1st position by market capitalization of BTC.  well, honestly I don't like seeing comparisons of altcoins (especially highly centralized coins like LIBRA) with BTC (which is truly decentralized). LIBRA will be a plus to the crypto market anyway, so it's a welcome development for mass adoption.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality of tokens on: October 15, 2019, 10:48:36 PM
So regarding the fact that what it takes to create a token for example an ERC 20, i ahve found a gig on Fiverr.
Check the link.
https://www.fiverr.com/wedowo/create-your-ico-website-and-erc20-token?context_referrer=search_gigs&source=top-bar&ref_ctx_id=34a69322-cdbf-40a4-98e6-b9f51a1be52f&pckg_id=1&pos=3&context_type=auto&funnel=657f18cb-30b9-4ede-a7f7-139b402768ed

Seller is creating an ICO website as well as the token for just 50$. So your basic invetsment is 50$, Now you just need to do marketing by just making a telegram group and launching a scam bounty scheme and give members greed to give 10% commissions. And you are ready to scam people.
People choose these scammers to scam them and thats all. Not saying that all of the tokens are of this type but most of them are of indeed.

This is a bitter truth, most projects have fake team members who just buy ready made ICO websites and token from developers who create multiples, on Fivver and upwork for instance. After that, they pay influencers to bring in Hype for the project, with a catching project aim. This boils down to the fact that, in as much as I admit regulations will drift from decentralisation, it's necessary to curb all this mess. Nowadays it's very difficult to differentiate between genuine and scam projects.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My list of 5 Sleeping Giants of 2020 :) on: October 15, 2019, 10:12:47 PM
Nice analysis, but the only coin I'm holding for long term on the list here is BNB.  I was a huge fan of ADA till I lost it over time, I think it's been overhyped. I think you are missing out ICX, nobody talking about it right now but most blockchain development by Korean government revolves around ICON blockchain.  TRX is another coin I'm holding and think it has great prospects due to the development which is not on the list here.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that conduct IEOS You should stay away from ? on: October 15, 2019, 04:48:17 PM
I'm not a fan of LATOKEN since it has conducted IEO and listed many low standard projects, but this doesn't mean there are no cool IEOs conducted on that exchange. A good example of a dope project which did IEO on Latoken is ZEUX (ZUC hit hardcap within a short period of time).  As for me, I do not venture into any IEO done on any exchange with low reputation, even if the project has the highest hype. Some exchanges go as far as giving fake announcements that the IEO sold out even without hitting softcap, just to lure in investors after listing.  We all need to be careful on what and where we make investment.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash added to Binance US on: October 15, 2019, 03:05:00 PM
Could someone explain to me why Dash seems to get a pass as a privacy coin when it comes to listing it? It seems to be hard for any other privacy coins to list in anywhere good enough exchanges, and only reason i can see for rejecting them is just being privacy coins.

I really think DASH has been doing great with compliance, even though it's really a hard time for privacy coins. So many regulatory hindrances with privacy coins, but DASH always scale through. It's a good thing Binance US will list DASH and I also saw that OKEX KOREA won't delist it which is controversial to the former delisting news.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: p2pb2b exchange top 1? on: October 15, 2019, 12:13:25 PM
It's obviously fake volume, p2pb2b is known for that. I really hope coinmarketcap does something about this fake volume exchanges or even remove them entirely from the list. Coinmarketcap formed an alliance with top exchanges early this year to curb the fake volume issue, but it seems their efforts are not enough.  Coingecko also is doing something about it, this really doesn't make any sense. What's the essence of fake volume, when one actually trades on the exchange, you see otherwise.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dont be surprised if ETH hits 4000$ on: October 14, 2019, 10:58:04 PM
I also think in this direction that POS implementation for ETH after ETH 2.0 will make crypto enthusiasts want to hold ETH for staking benefits. But also in another dimension, some will take advantage of the news before ETH 2.0 to dump their coins if at all price soars. I have been a core supporter of Ethereum and I hope to see more development for the project aside price movement. The 4000$ mentioned here sounds more like a fallacy right now, but it's possible in the long run.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: your patience is being tested on: October 14, 2019, 09:26:36 PM
Indeed the patience is being tested every day as we all wait for the sunny days to come into the crypto market but so far the bear won't let the clouds go away making some of us loosing patience but not my case. I know that for those who bought during the bull run the patience is testing them at higher levels but we're all in the same boat guys , just wait and forget about the price , accumulate as much as you can and I hope everything will be okay for next year.

This makes sense to me, although holding sometimes is not favorable. I accumulated DENT and NPXS at dips and decided to hold long term since there was at least development updates with those projects. Unfortunately for me, the price of those coins keep dumping with time. Sometimes I ask myself if development updates from projects don't contribute to price spikes anymore? Well, let me keep holding some coins on my portfolio at dip for long term and see how it goes.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why lots of people got scam easily on: October 14, 2019, 05:55:38 PM
This is so true, I really like the key points buttressed briefly here on why people easily get scammed in crypto. Greed takes a major percentage of most scam cases, people invest big in token sales with zero risk management strategy, in a bit to sell at huge profit. When investing in any token sale, do so because you have properly researched on the project and believe the team can deliver the project vision. Be aware that price movement is solely controlled by market conditions, prepare for the best but still expect the worst. Some people just buy into hype with zero background knowledge of the project, that's absurd.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Must Know Before Investing in IEO on: October 14, 2019, 03:53:44 PM
Good points on how to ascertain if a project is worthy to invest in its IEO or not, but I don't fully support the aspect about checking their number of followers on social media. My reason is because some projects will just boost their number of followers or group members on telegram by doing an airdrop or even using fake members. Talking about team, it's very important to do thorough checks on the team because even if other factors seem right and the team is not up to the task, the project will definitely fail. I also think you are missing out the tokenomics aspect, check vetting period for team members too.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum and stable coins like usdt on: October 14, 2019, 01:19:16 PM
I am still trying to figure out the correlation between stablecoins and Ethereum per say. You mentioned on your post that the higher the demand for stable coins, the higher the price of ETH, I don't think that's correct. If people are selling their ETH for stable coins on pairs like ETH/USDT or ETH/USDC for instance, it definitely implies they are taking profit or just trying to be on the safe side.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: !!! SO MANY PROJECTS !!! What 's going on ? on: October 13, 2019, 03:34:36 PM
It's rather unfortunate that many new projects will never fulfil their project aim, most times the information on white paper are mere ideas which will never be actualized. The rate at which new projects sprout is alarming, it's left for investors to do proper research before investing in any. I can name a few new projects I think are good, with respect to team, product, tokenomics but it's not necessary, so it doesn't look like a financial advise. You can always check new projects on ico rating sites like icodrops and icobench, then decide after due diligence.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are excited everytime we see a new coin without knowing it first on: October 13, 2019, 01:21:35 PM
Those who have experienced many failed projects do not get extremely excited over new projects without doing proper due diligence, mostly newbies do that. Sometimes is not even about experience, after doing your research, at the end the project fails maybe due to poor management, or inability to hit soft cap, regulation issues, internal team issues and many more setbacks. I agree with you that we should move on without wasting much time hating on the project when it fails since more cool projects will still come.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal to leave Libra on: October 13, 2019, 05:48:18 AM
I saw news from sources like cointelegraph and coindesk that PayPal left LIBRA, although I can't ascertain if it's 100% true. Well, it's very possible amidst the regulatory hindrances encountered by Libra so far. Just yesterday, I saw another update that VISA, MASTERCARD, EBAY and STRIPES left Facebook's Libra after PayPal opened the way.  All these doesn't mean Libra is going to fail, although it should be a hard time for the project obviously, losing vital partners doesn't always play well.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What makes you still join the bounty campaigns? on: October 13, 2019, 12:08:34 AM
Honestly promoting most new projects are worthless, but there are few projects worth doing their bounties. The major reason why I still do bounties is because I don't just jump on any bounty, I take about three days to analyse the project, and then decide if it's worth my time. I don't really have a particular bounty campaign manager I'll say he/she is the best but Arteezy, Julerz, Jolin, and few others have been delivering superb projects, although a few turn out shitty. My best campaign this year was Smartfund which lasted a few weeks with fixed stakes. In essence, before delving into any bounty, do proper research to avoid wasting your time.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mass adoption growing or decreasing? on: September 24, 2019, 10:05:50 PM
With reference to 10 years back, little crypto adoption has been achieved to an extent over the years. Well, many sectors adopt the blockchain technology and not crypto. There are limitations to adoption and we hope with time these limitations will be curbed. Security issues, scalability, volatility, increase in crime rate, anonymity etc has been  major challenges for crypto to be adopted by centralized authorities.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin today on: September 24, 2019, 09:11:09 PM
In as much as there are some altcoins with great prospect, majority of the altcoins lack future prospect and will be forgotten with time. Some altcoins have been delisted on exchanges due to no trading activity, when the team abandons the project hence investors become skeptical since there are no updates for long. It's a good thing that some altcoins of nowadays have valid real world use cases although none has been adopted mainstream yet. Let's be optimistic anyway and hope adoption will gradually come in future.
