Wait I thought you said you were running .31 already? I am. Back when I said I was heading out to make bad decisions in the company of sordid women, I hit F5 and saw .31... I've been here being very unhappy ever since, instead of what should have been happening... I count confirmations. 13, 9, 6, 5 Looks like 15000 amount is somehow not keeped, instead small amount is darksended. So still Darksend rounds is 1. 6 confirmations : 900 ? 5 confirmations : 999 ? Yeah, weird, right? I set it to 8 rounds. What's the 900 and 999 about? I haven't performed any manual sends, this is all darksend's doing. I received the 10538DRK, set darksend to 8, enabled it, and the rest is, uh, yeah...  See the fees? See how much is anonymized? It does only 1 round... It's set to 8... It charges me buttloads of fees to do precisely nothing, or at least that's how it looks... 1.) The round > 1 error was caused by a lack of fees, because of this the network refused to accept the transactions. I've made the default darksend fee 0.0125, or currently $0.043 per 1000DRK. This means to anonymize $3450 it will current cost 0.0013%. Even with the higher fee our solution is decentralized and cheaper than any comparable mixer on the market. Also, it's good to remember this fee goes to the miners, so it will actually benefit the network and make mining more valuable.
8 rounds 10K : 0.0125 * 8 * 10 + (0.001 * at least 8 ?) isn't ? Yeah so it costs 1 DRK to get 10k coins with arguably overkill (8 rounds) anonymity. This is expensive??!?  For smaller amounts it may be a bit high, but if you only have 5 DRK then just use less rounds. Lowering fees has already shown not to work on mainnet. Plus the same miners that DRK supposedly hates get these fees... |

It cost me 0.125 as well for a total of 0.356 drk to denominate a measly 17.999 DRK. Kind of expensive don't you think. And if denom is supposed to be .001 then why is it .0125 for some users? Another bug? Here's a screenshot. And no it's not photoshopped.
It is definitely charging .0125 per denomination round or .1 DRK for 8 rounds. Your math above seems off, but I agree that .0125 per round is too expensive, especially when anonymizing smaller amounts. It was raised to 0.0125 per 1000 DRK per round from v30 because with 0.001 fees the transactions were not getting into blocks fast enough causing a lot of people to get stuck on 1 round. Now it is fine for most people but there may be a problem with large amounts (camo). |

I'm also having issues. I have 20 DRK stuck as unconfirmed. When I look at transactions I see 2 "Darksend Denominate" transactions that haven't reached the network for some reason. I attempted deleting them, but it just brought my "Unconfirmed" balance down to 0, while leaving my other balances the same. I have now updated to .31 and the transactions are now out of order (a previous "Darksend Denominate" has jumped in front of the 2 that haven't reached the network). You try salvagewallet after re-downloading the blockchain? |

Still not working for me.. installed .31 version, set to 2 rounds and 25 coins in the preferences. Only anonymizes 3.00000003 coins and then stops. The 3 coins anonymized pretty quick and then nothing more has happened in the last hour and half. WTF? Why does it only do 3.00000003 coins? Coin control settings have no been changed. Just the factory default automatic or whatever it is.
First thing I would try is increasing the number of coins over 25. That number is approximate and may do less than 25 (like 3  ). Set it to the default 1000 and report back. |

What happens if you increase the number to keep anonymized to something larger, say larger than your wallet balance? That worked! Set to 2 rounds, will see what it does. Edit: 1st denom Me too! JGC you genius! Well, it is just testnet experience talking. Evan admitted during testing that the number you set is really approximate and also depends on the inputs you have available. It is probably best to keep it set a good deal higher than the actual anonymous funds you would like on hand. |

Yeah, there needs to be a denomination progress bar added to the wallet ASAP. Currently if you don't use coin control it is very easy to get lost and send coins during denomination.

When I changed from 1 to 8, it stopped declaring that I had any denominated finds. It just shows the balance.
Not denominating. Won't let me send a single duff...
Managed to get the client to let me send. Had to send precisely the exact amount minus the fees. No more and no less... There is a failed "greaterthanorequaltoo" somewhere demanding "equalto" exclusively, somewhere in there... Also, could only do it from "any available funds" Any other combination of choices and it refused no matter what amount. Still not denominating... I have seen denomination take and hour to start in some cases. Have you seen a "payment to yourself" (i.e. split up money) It's making a clusterfuck again... Charging fees, but not doing anything... TXes coming in timestamped backwards, goofing itself up... TXes not on chain. And the real kicker... erasetransaction [txid] results in it telling me it knows nothing about the TX in question, which I just copy/pasted directly from the client's own info... Denoms appear to start, then go away... The only thing consistent is that the fee has been deducted, lols. Again? I dunno how you have the same problems when everybody else says they are fixed. All you trying to send funds before the denomination is completely finished? Also, what do you mean by "appear to start then go away"? I'm thinking this may be possible, but when there is no indication that denomination is occurring... I tried to delete the TX that might be offending, but as you can see, client refuses to acknowledge it's own TXID...  I will have to let someone else try to help with the transaction id issue, but as for denomination you are right the wallet does need to be more clear. From my experience on testnet, denomination starts when you get the first "payment to self" and finishes when all but 1 or 2 DRK are listed as anonymized. Between that time even if it seems like the wallet is not doing anything, you should assume that it is denominating and wait to send funds. You can also check the progress by enabling then looking at coin control in "list mode". There you can see how many rounds each of your inputs has gone through. When denomination is finished all inputs greater than 1.1 DRK will have at least the number of rounds you set next to it. |

Hey all - Evan thinks he's found the cause of the "1-round" issue. He's working on a fix now. It will involve some changes to the fee structure for processing Darksend rounds. It occurs to me that we left out a concise summation of the fee structure in the original RC4 announcement, so we will be including information on that subject when the fix goes live.

In all seriousness, AFAIK the only other provably anon, trustless coins are bytecoin clones and those have bloat issues. Is there actual proof of anything else? Or are we just talking about trusted mixers and vaporware?

Looks like Darkcoin may be the first coin with practical anonymity(that can be used in everyday situations). Very good!
I cannot say this. Please explain "practical" please, as many coins offer this now. I think cloakcoin was the first and then xc, and shadowcoin. so unless you can explain, then your comment is mislead. Darkcoin offered anonymous sending (darksend) before cloakcoin or xc or shadowcoin even existed(all three of which copied Darkcoin's darksend) By Practical anonymity, I mean no blockchain bloat etc. it is not practical at all, it just cost way to much to do for something that is supposed to be the coins main selling feature. In fact, darksend cost so much to use it is almost useless. Darksend now is an over engineered coin mixer and investers are not in anyway impressed How is 0.002 DRK or .7 cents "way to much"? And no 20% to the masternodes has nothing to do with it. Users of DRK who buy coins off the market and want to be anonymous don't care about masternodes. |

So much FUD and trolling in here your post almost got lost. Yes, the current situation is that 1 round is working for the vast majority and more than more 1 round is not yet fixed. In the RC4 bug thread flare says they have reproduced it and are currently working on a fix. |

paying fee's to make my coins anon is absurd considering the eliteist masternode boys club already siphons off miner profits to do it.

I actually agree with this to an extent. 2 rounds of DS+ should come free at least IMO, then a small charge for further rounds. But you don't seem to grasp that Masternodes are essential to the whole process, and thus deserve to earn a fee for the service they provide. If it was free though you could still spam the network for free by automatically sending coins to yourself. Plus fees means those transactions are quickly added to a block. |
