261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 11, 2014, 08:16:01 PM
do u guys mine at 1GH or heavycoinpool?

If the Heavycoin community is smart enough...  it will split the hashing power between pools...  don't let this be the next Maxcoin folks!    Kiss

hard to do that when the damn windows binaries arent available so the other pools are only open to linux users.

would be nice if we could get more updates from the devs regarding windows binaries for the pools, marketing, generally what's happening etc. I mean they are who the community is looking to predominantly.

1gh because the pools don't support windows yet Sad

And this coin is GPU'ed, about 5x faster than a high end CPU, latest word from ypool dev.
jh00: I don't support coins with premine

why are you hear then? lol

it is actually gpu'd? is that confirmed?

price is not going up, botnets and cpu farms gotta dump, and they've also got majority of voting power so block reward is going to be maxed as long as they mine.

Don't bet the house on that...  although it would be nice for the default value in settings to be lower than 512...  as well as in all those .bat instructions that are posted on pool websites and this thread.

I believe that there is a very good chance that the heavy hash rate miners will lower their block size vote...  but only after they hold enough HVC...
and definitely after there have been more HVC mined than the amount distributed through the IPO.

I think the key to the whole thing is in what will the community and the devs do to promote the coin and to make it usable.

If people see HVC going somewhere, if progress happens, miners will have a good reason to hold. And then, even if the rewards are high the price won't go down.

So once the devs have managed to catch up with everything, stratum included, plans and initiatives are top priority.

yes this is a very sensible comment

keccak when will the windows binaries be given to the pools?
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 11, 2014, 05:36:41 PM
yeah gladly, its so early and the coin is very unique, for example this coin at the moment at least shits all over quark. Its got a long way to go before it reaches it's true value.

In your dreams...

Wait 2 weeks...

tell me how quark is better and i'll conceed defeat.

It's not better, thats the point ;-)

ah so you agree HVC is better, thanks Smiley. even if it gets GPU cracked then the algo is so complex it wont give GPU miners a huge advantage.

you do realize there's like 1 million mined every day AND its going to rise to 1.5 million in two days.

there has been 1.5 mil mined in 4 days following the pre-mine, not exactly 1 million per day.

it#'s still unique and they can vote the hell out of it if they like, there will still be no more than 128m of this unique coin when all is said and done.

I think it's a major plus that someone is willing to fork out over 10 BTC already for HVC

Depends on how many HVC buys with 10BTC Smiley

I just meant that that's a big sign of the faith people have in this coin that the guy is willing to spend $6200 on HVC.
