261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 13, 2014, 09:56:05 PM

"A Bank on a stick" sounds great, but Ive one question, how do you decide if you are going to trust all your wallets and keys/coins to a third party patched OS?

Trust is earned, and so far, so good with the KeyCoin Team.  Caution is prudent when dealing with the "wild west", but KeyCoin Devs have definitely earned my trust.

Any examples as to what they have done to make you trust them with your keys and coins?

1. They have their team and anon code reviewed by an unbiased third party (Dan Metcalf of XCurrency)
2. Trust verified by another third party (Coinssource)
3. They have delivered so much (anon, trading app, etc) in their very short life so far (about 5 weeks)

Obviously you can continue to criticize every little thing including their tech and efforts at gaining trust, but how many other coins out there have all these things already established.

Also, you speak as though all these problems are only unique to keycoin.  And that is definitely not the case. Devs have done and will continue to do their best to address problems.

It should be priced like a bot. Then, this could open an entirely new market of "bot trading," people literally trading to get the bots they want.

It is fair to say that the entire Key team is INCREDIBLY bot savvy, more so than just about anyone. Let's use that to its best advantage to impact the price of the coin positively.

If the bot (by that, I mean "tools") are priced well ahead of where they are now, are ONLY available through purchase and holding of substantial amounts of Keycoin, and still priced well under what similar bots are, we'd have a monster on our hands.

The price is $20 bucks, you've paid more for video games you've never played I bet.  I know I have:  DayZ alpha, Planetary Annihilation, BF4, etc.

I am suggesting that the price is FAR too low, but I think you get that.

Okay, I just want to make sure I understand.  So are you guys saying that the number of keycoins required to use the app should be adjusted according how much the current USD/KEY price is?  If that's the case, then yeah, I think that would work out well actually.

It wasn't long ago people were paying 2btc+ for tools like this.  100 coins is a damn bargain, stuff like this would sell easily on eBay for hundreds of dollars.

Hmm that's a good point.  Some good marketing and advertisement for this would be very helpful.  Need to reach out to the media more about this.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 13, 2014, 04:36:13 PM
I've set up a poll so you can vote for the value on the amount of coins needed to use KeyTrader.

http://keycoincrypto.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10

Nice.  I'm happy to see that the more mature and professional supporters/investors of keycoin are still all present.  I think in the long run, this will attract more serious investors rather than just the amateur traders who are just in it to make a quick buck.

In regards to the minimum value of coins needed, I think this is something that should be changed over time.  Since it is still in the early stages, requiring more keycoins (possibly in the 300-500 range) would be good.  But later on as more and more people are aware of keycoin and the apps, the requirements should be lowered accordingly, especially with the very limited number of keycoins available.  Who knows, might eventually have to lower it to 0.5 or 0.25 keys

Nice release!

I bet the Fudders are secretly buying more right now. So shameless.  I genuinely feel bad for people who sold at a loss due to the drama they caused. But oh well, at least all that is behind us. This new moderated thread is indeed a great idea. I'm sure everyone in this forum, not just keycoin supporters, are sick and tired of seeing pages of crap posts in a thread.  This will clean things up a lot and likely set a new standard for coin threads
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/12 Update - Moderated on: August 13, 2014, 12:14:17 AM
All the FUD and spam was incredibly distracting indeed.  Now the focus can be on making things better rather than trying to recover from both lost time and money invested.

I do have a few ideas to make things better, but will post when I have thought it out more and also after seeing the OS and trading tools.

For now, a few suggestions:
1.  Update link on website to point to this thread instead of the old one
2.  Include Dan Metcalf's review of the dev team and anon code somewhere on the website
3.  Also include the news article/interview

I think at this point, anything that can rebuild and gain trust in keycoin would be helpful. Obviously, releasing the OS will help that alot, but the small things count too.

yawn

As you have no arguments to any of my points ill assume you agree and are just tired. It must be that pipe kicking in.

I am debating on locking this thread and creating a moderated one to eliminate posters related to attious and galt. Show of +1 for -for against?

+1. Let's do it.

Laughing at all these Fudders/liars trying to get their last shot in before it's too late.  Might as well go out with a bang, right?

Like I said days ago, DO IT already and stop talking about it!

Calm down now.  No need to yell. We already know you're mad.

Nice. Can't wait to get home and check it out. Don't know why dev hasn't announced this.

Edit: In other words, devs should announce it on here. It's at least some progress.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/9 Status Update on: August 12, 2014, 01:20:55 AM
Erastos is John Galt, the guy who carried out the attacks on crypt with attious. Fyi

Any estimate on release of KeyOS beta testing yet?

In a few people's defense, dev did indeed mention awhile ago that the beta will be released:

Quote
7/27 update:
Lots of progress is being made on KeyOS.  We intend to have an ISO image released for testing this week. We'll be putting together a form for testers, with the intention to run under Virtualbox for now.

Of course, it is very understandable that the schedule falls behind a bit (alot of unexpected things have been happenning).  But as long as you guys are honest about it and update us on it, then that would be even better.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/9 Status Update on: August 11, 2014, 03:12:46 AM
wasn't it promised to release keyOS in current week but then they delayed it to Monday u see any positive daily update frm them tats y coin is down to hell:P yeh i dnt knw wt am talking about:P

So you think a bit a of a delay is them not fulfilling promises?  Don't know if you noticed, but there were constant FUD attacks going on for several days in this thread and the unnecessary drama caused by Coinssource.  These things alone caused a pretty big hit on morale and motivation.  I'd say the small delay is justified, considering the circumstances.

Believe what you want Richard.  It's like Prom coming on here and saying he's to busy to post in here because he's doing interviews.  It takes 5 minutes to login and say, "Thanks for your support everyone.  We're working hard for the community.

Yeah and if either Prom or the keycoin dev repeatedly posts something like that, I guarantee there will be someone complaining that they are just posting for the hell of it and not really giving any real updates.  I hope you can see how it can really be a double-edged sword.  So for now, just relax and wait till Monday.  If there are no words from them by the end of Monday, then we can start complaining.

Edit:
There was a post like that from Prom just today; maybe you missed it.  I quoted it below for your convenience.  Hope that provides some satisfaction.

Hey guys, things are looking good for some tech releases for everyone Smiley

its only one guy and so rich even hes taking losses also maybe bought a lot when it was so low and one of the dev team was buying before now just sell sell sell we all investors r fkd fkd and just fkd:D so chill and wait for a new coin:S

I don't think so.  I have no connections to the dev team or any of the major investors, but I've spoken with the main dev through PM and they definitely have the highest intention on making this coin succeed.  It's unfortunate that not a lot of people see it, but they have actually put a lot of effort into gaining trust in the community and into their features.  As of right now, their efforts seem to be very under-appreciated.
they didn't support their own coin as they were supposed to didn't fulfill their promises u says under appreciate its all coz they and coin lost ppl trust have u got anything publicly significant spoken or done by them.......we all on d edge of hope just but how long more?

Umm.. do you even know what you're talking about?  What promises didn't they fulfill?  And they updated on progress just yesterday.  It seems you really need to go back and do some reading.  Original post is a good start.

How did you come to this conclusion?

I compiled it and tested it. And I completely understand how it works. I just can't run this program on the linux laptop that I'm currently using.

He came to that conclusion because you've used that excuse and similar excuses for about the 10th time now.

Also, just one simple question for you:  you've previously claimed that you are genuinely concerned about anonymity tech and its issues, so why haven't you questioned or challenged the Cloak or XC people about their anon?  You've been very obsessed with just Keycoin. Appears incredibly biased to me.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/9 Status Update on: August 10, 2014, 10:29:51 AM
Hey guys, things are looking good for some tech releases for everyone Smiley

did your group already start working on the next coin or what? seems like all the 'supporters' have disappeared that used to flood the thread with good vibes.

To da moon!!!!

Was that what you wanted to hear?  It's funny, fudders like yourself talk negative and complain when supporters post "good vibes".  Now that not a lot whole of people are posting these "good vibes" for not even 12 hrs (people have jobs/a life and have to sleep, you know), you also try to turn that into a negative.  So shameless and pathetic.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/9 Status Update on: August 09, 2014, 06:25:54 PM
You know what makes me skeptical before putting my pennies into your coin? The fact that, while you say you develop a linux based trading environment, the only screenshot of a trading app you ve released so far is the windows spread calc. That does not make sense. Why not a screenshot of the linux app? Why no screenshot of any trading app at all? Why only irrelevant screenshots of the bootloader's background image, an animation based on it, and screenshots of the wallet and tor map? We are not interested in that kind of stuff man! We are not here for the (quite basic) customization of a linux distribution, but for the trading apps.

I'm not saying this is a scam. I'm just saying with all these announcements you invite us to bet our money with extremely high risk on your upcoming release without showing the slightest proof of progress of development. Only irrelevant screenshots. Why would a legit developer do that? Crypto is a risky business and such details should be taken very seriously.

Then wait for the beta testing release. No one is forcing you to buy in right this instant.

A lot of us took a stab in the dark too when they announced that anon will be released. And they did indeed deliver that, if it's any indication.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/6 KeyOS Update on: August 09, 2014, 12:35:20 PM
wherez new thread?

Read the announcement

Edit:
A little off topic, but I just recently noticed this.  Can someone tell me how BitcoinDark, a coin with 1.5% premine and that as far as I know, has not delivered any of the technology they promised yet, but was still able to go from 0.0015 btc to 0.0055 btc in a week?

Not meaning to say anything negative about BTCD, but I think that's just ridiculous when you compare to Keycoin having the fair launch and delivery of the anon tech.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/6 KeyOS Update on: August 09, 2014, 11:51:18 AM
Yeah weve seen how the group like to MODerate before, similar to their BTCe modding yeah? basically delete every comment that is negative, and ban people who call them out on it. They are known for doing it so blatently too. They should at least try to hide it!

They would constantly spam their own coins, and then ban others for mentioning them and delete the comments (only if they were negative comments) , claiming "you cant mention alts not traded here"   , seen koolio and MoosaNYC do this so many times now its like their trademark move...

So yeah, you guys go to your self moderated thread and pretend everyone likes this coin and keep shouting "moon" every 2 minutes!  Bye! Grin

I don't know how old you are, but back in the day, when there are pages of the same people saying the same thing over and over (especially lies), it is considered spamming.  And spamming needs to be moderated.

So yes, troll while you still can, because you won't be able to anymore in the future. Sorry brah.

Edit: obviously, you or anyone can still post in the new thread as long as it's constructive and civil.  Everyone is still going to be welcome.

Yes, constructive critism is good, but when people blatantly post lies like all these fudders have been doing, then it needs to be moderated.
