Ripple sounded like a great idea. Until I looked into it.

+1

I shouldn't even try to react here (because it's useless anyway) but it just ticks me off that you're trying to get people to burn their money.

Its going down a bit more almost assuredly, but for the love of god dont panic sell at 550. its going to touch it again probably once more and never look back.

By "touching 550" you mean hitting 400, right?

but bitcoin is more like TCP/IP
your argument is invalid.

Can you stop fcking quoting him? If you want to chat with the idiot you can PM him.....

You realize it is his moderated thread?

Odd that we don't see you here all the times you guess wrong...

When did I guess wrong? That is my first prediction thread ever as far as I know...It's also the first time I've published my opinion online (GeekCipher).

Perhaps my post wasn't exactly about price prognostication? I think what you're up to is generally obvious but I will reserve a more scathing post, i.e., give you rope. You could just be a burgeoning entrepreneur hoping to support his League Of Legends pastime, right?

Could we make the polls a little bit more serious ?
That is, leave "yes", "no" and "idk" but remove the moronic all caps options ?

i think those options weed out the not so serious voters
trolls can't help but hit the troll options, which give more meaningful results to the yes,no,idk option.
its a troll trap and it works, when i'm not sure, and i feel like trolling the poll i hit buy buy buy.

Aside from your reasoning, it is your fucking poll. Do what you want. So many nannies want to control other people in this world. If solarflare wants a poll with his 3 serious options, solarflare can go make his own fucking poll elsewhere.

Interestingly, a bitcoin activist claimed he had big bitcoins trapped in mtgox, but the hacked documents proved he had little balance, showing he lied, and furthermore,  he also had lied that he had only stocked and never sold.

is there a thread here about this?

Last time I discovered a type of beer called barley wine. It has 12% of alcohol but doesn't taste like it at all.

I had a Blithering Idiot tonight for first time. Very good!

I still need to go to the US one day and go see for myself if these ridiculous cliches are actually true. I've heard you guys don't actually like beer, you just like to pee a lot  Cheesy

We had some exchange students in our family for some months on a few separate occasions. I asked one group what was the most surprising thing about America and his reply was "yellow school buses." He said that growing up he heard crazy stories over and over that school buses in America were all yellow. He got here and found it was mostly true. He thought it was hilarious.  Smiley

I don't know much about the history of beer except that it is ancient food. As for America's beer history, I have no idea how it ended up that this country spent so many years stuck with 2 main watered down beers (Budweiser, Miller) for so long. Of course there were other semi-popular regionals, then Coors became #3 for a while. Bud, Miller, Coors. Bud Miller, Coors. Occasionally some Pabst, National Bohemian, Milwaukee's Best.

I worked at a liquor store for a chunk of years as a young fella. We were "the" liquor store in our area because we had a large selection. It was considered pretty mind-boggling that we carried 20 different beers. Now, of course, there are 20 different beers on one shelf in that store, and many shelves.

I recall around the late 80's we started getting a few micro-brews ("craft beers") as that niche was taking off here. Pete's Wicked Ale became my favorite until @1998 when they were bought and the flavour changed. But during those years there was an explosion, and now we have many. I love trying different beers but I usually go with a stout when I have a chance, and go for Guinness when it is on tap. I have a bottle of 1987 Hardy's Ale in the kitchen waiting for something to celebrate.

But the fact that the "bitcoin community" does not want to know what happened inside MtGOX...
meanwhile several law suits are moving forward in order to find out what went on, and attempting to recoup losses

Well, I belive it is a "google fact", in that I can't find any new analyses...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evidence_of_absence

Whatever happened at MtGOX, it is certain that some 500,000 BTC now belong to a thief or scammer.
so you know for a fact that just from Gox alone that it is not a possibility keys were lost or Bitcoins were destroyed? Please provide proof. I don't think it is likely coins were destroyed but that doesn't equate to certainty. It's embarrassing to have to teach a professor this.

Added to other scams and thefts, known and unknown, it may be that more than 1 million BTC now belong to bitcoin criminals.
...and it may not. Perhaps you'll perform an academic coin flip to decide this as well instead of finding facts.

So, if bitcoin succeeds like his most ardent fans believe, perhaps 10% of all the money supply in the world will belong to criminals.
...if...perhaps... you could do a study on how much USD and Brazilian Real belongs to criminals since it seems to be a concern for you. Someone might think it's hypocritical of you to not do so.

they actually lost coins?? loaded and risto? a large percentage?

Yes they lost coins, so they said. Do not know how much. I imagine Loaded is still loaded and Risto apparently just bought a big house he likes to call a castle, so they both seem to be chugging along OK.
277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 15, 2014, 09:42:50 PM
Look at someone like loaded or rpietila. You can bet they are helping their wealthy friends/family get bitcoins and properly secure them.

ummm... Loaded says he buys for people and that he lost coins on Gox. Risto was holding coins for people and lost them all. Might want to re-evaluate "properly secure them."

I'm beginning to change my opinion on TA. I have sold off my children and put the money into Bitcoin. I thank you.

I've never made a chart in my life. Does this line I drew mean anything?

Depends.. is this the chart for the company that owns NewsWeak?

pollution from coal
citation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_impact_of_the_coal_industry (Sterilised by Wikipedia PR firm.)

I don't know much about coal vs. oil because any non-renewable is quickly going the way of the dinosaur. It seems next to pointless to look into it from my perspective. I got my EV because I thought it was cool, and for me it is. I love it. I enjoy driving by the gas pump without stopping. I enjoy the fact I haven't had maintenance since I bought it years ago because it needs no oil changes or filters, etc. I'm hoping if bitcoin gets up enough to add a solar array to the house and then I won't even need coal electricity. It would be a hard sell to convince me an EV running on the sun is less green than an ICE car running on gas.
