Hello,
As you may know, the initial 1,000 BTC limit of my deposit was quickly reached even even before starting the operation. I did not planned to increase the capacity of this risk-free deposit for a while. Nevertheless, given the great amount of investors that could not get in during the launch of this deposit, I have decided to increase the limit just a little bit for new small investors.
In order to let small investors participate in my deposit I have decided to remove the minimum limit of 10 btc and I will start accepting small deposits ranging from just 1 btc to a maximum of 50 btc for those of you that could not get in earlier but also that wanted to take advantage of the current 2% weekly interest rate of this risk-free deposit. I am going to offer this increased capacity for current investors as well, so those which right now have deposits under 50 btc will be able to deposit some additional coins until reaching this upper limit of 50 bitcoins. Depositors with larger amounts will be able to maintain or withdraw their current deposits at will.
The deadline for making new deposits will always be on Sundays at 17:00 UTC (i.e 6 PM BST, 7 PM CET, 1 PM PST or 10 AM PDT). As a rule of thumb, depositors should PM me 24 hours before that deadline only in case they wish to withdraw their funds from their deposit so I can pay out not only their weekly interests but also their principal on time. By default, I will assume that everybody is willing to maintain their deposits with me, so please PM if it is not the case.
As this weekend is the first one in which depositors are going to receive their earned interests, I will exceptionally accept withdrawal orders just a few hours before the deadline, but please take this into account for the coming weeks. You can notify me of your choice to withdraw your funds any time during the week, and even at the very moment of funding your deposit.
Interest will always be paid also on Sundays although the exact time will likely vary from one week to another. In fact this week, I will be watching the EURO Cup championship soccer final between Italy and my beloved Spanish Armada, so I will do my best paying out interests/withdrawals a little bit earlier this week.
Edit: Spain finally won the EURO Cup beating Italy 4-0.

is the interest 10% or 8% ? I am asking this, because you have mentioned 8% in the text, but the tittle says 10% for 30 days.

I'm selling 125 BTC for USD at the market rate. I will accept Western Union, US wire transfers (not ACH transfers), or cash in the mail. You pay any transfer fees. I might accept other methods if the method is irreversible or you are very trustworthy. Smaller amounts (at least $20) are OK.
Hi theymos, do you accept USD MtGox vouchers? As you are a trusted guy, I will accept to pay you in advance the current weighted Avg price that appears at Mt.Gox right now $6.39218 * 125 = $799.0225 In order to avoid others to intercept the code for the voucher I will send you a GPG encrypted and signed message with the code. I will wait for you to verify that the code I have sent you is still valid and then I expect you to send the coins to one of my bitcoin addresses like the one in my signature. Do we have a deal?
|
|
|
You should also take into account that the interest rate I am offering is not compounding.
I will do the math for you: - 1 Year Compounding interest => 1000*(1 + 0.02)^52=2800 btcs - 1 Year Non-Compounding => 1000*(1+0.02*52) = 2040 btcs
In any case I am not willing to offer this 2% interest rate for such a long time for a risk-free deposit like this one. I think it is much more realistic to expect a high interest like this one being offered just for a few weeks/months but not years, that's for sure.

As a security observation, your deposit list includes two addresses that are identifiable. I assume that those two depositors asked for anonymity, I suggest an alternative is to use the end of the address rather than the start. I would propose this as a default standard - I'm using the last 16 characters of the address and do not publish any details for those that make that request.
Thank you Patrick, nice observation. In fact one of the anonymous depositors prefer to see the firstbits of his/her address instead of a nickname of the form AnonXY where X and Y are digits. She/He was fully aware that the firstbits of the address would represent a unique global mapping between the address and its shortened version. In my opinion using the last characters of the address is not much better than using the first ones, as both strings will be searchable in the blockchain once they are used. We can even use another hash (SHA-256 maybe?) of the withdrawal address and then using a reduced version of only some characters. The bottom line is that anonymous brand new generated addresses should not be tainted with any other identifiable addresses apart from other considerations such as using i2p or Tor. I will preserve the anonymity of any depositor that asks for it and I will use the 'nickname' of their preference.

Hello folks,
I want to thank all the investors in my deposit and all the people that has show interest in my operation. I have just stopped accepting new deposits for next week (weekly term).
Right now I can tell you that this operation has been a total SUCCESS because of you. You have reached my limited deposit capacity originally established at 1000 BTCs. I'm sorry to say that not all investors were able to take advantage of my free-risk deposit.
For the people that hurry up and got lucky to be in, as you know first payments will be sent the next Sunday, July 1st.
Thank you all for your interest, Victor Escudero.

As you perhaps may have missed my PM,
Hello Victor,
Cordially re-read "my posts", so you may notice I have been borrowing a lot of BTC to grow my mining operations. I would interested as a borrower, not a lender.
Thank you
Sorry crosby, I mistakenly thought you were looking for loans instead of borrow bitcoins. Thank you for your feedback. By the way, for the rest of you guys, this is the last call to make deposits for the next week for a 2% weekly interest. I will stop accepting new deposits in less than 1.5 hours.

Hi very interested but I have a few questions,
First question would be do you lend to pirate?
Second what are you using to back your guarantee?
Thank you:)
Hello Goat, I would back up this deposit with my own money. Yes, I do have some funds in PPT bonds but this should not be a problem for any of my depositors, because my exposition to pirate is so low that even if he defaults I will be able to pay you back all your coins kindly with my own money. As a large investor and long term bitcoin supporter I have my own reserves of bitcoins. Not only that, I have also made some investments in several bitcoin projects and GLBSE securities. You might want to check them with Nefario, DeadTerra, hashking, zefir, or Philj amongst other people in this community. I have made even small investments in your TYGRR.BOND-A and TYGRR.BOND-B bonds which right now I own in excess of 1200 and 3500 respectively. If you wish and the rest of my customers agree, I could even transfer these bonds to you as a guarantee to the deposits. Folks, do you want me to put some of my assets at GLBSE in escrow with Goat to back your deposits?

Thank you Patrick for listing me as a deposit taker. I was going to ask you to include my 2% weekly deposit in your list, when I saw you already did it. As always, you've been amazingly fast!

3. What is the minimum deposit?
4. What is the minimum term?
3. Minimum deposit will be 10 btc. 4. Minimum term will be just one only week. Nevertheless I hope the average deposit to be larger and longer. Please sign your initial offering with your GPG key too. I have just signed my offering with my personal GPG key, the same one you will find in #bitcoin-otc. Thank you.

For potential depositors, Victor has more than 300BTC with me in GLBSE shares.
Thank you.
Thank you ciuciu.

I dont understand how anyone can believe this is a sound investment. Mind you, that goes for all mining bonds on GLBSE, not just Philj's..
I think friedcat has made a very good explanation of why this is not as bad as you might think. I know there are some other options in which you can invest your money for a much higher interest rate. It depends on your risk profile, for example you might want to invest in pirate bonds for a highest reward at the expense of a higher risk. One of the best things of mining bonds is that although their returns are not very high, as they are backup for a real mining activity their pretty safe investments, as their dividends will be self adjusted in reaction to external events. Mining difficulty will smoothly react to absorb bitcoin prices fluctuations, mining rewards halving in a few months or any technological advances that could hit the market. IMHO the key difference here is how much confidence you might have in the skills of the issuer as she/he will have to deal with these kind of changes making the right decisions.

My preference (at this time) is that you don't list GBF on GLBSE. I only see disadvantages to doing that.
Your time and energy are limited and valuable. Best conserve them for GBF and your research projects.
Dealing with a GBF GLBSE vehicle creates too many (both unavoidable and potential) administrative and legal issues.
I'd prefer you concentrate exclusively on maximizing our returns. Don't go too big, small is beautiful, keep it simple, etc.
1- I Vote 'no' to GBF in GLBSE. Lets focus and we'll do better 2- Keep communication strong 3- Consider opening #GBF on IRC or a GBF investors thread (or something along those lines) 4- Minimise the risk now (my opinion), let's not gamble on the 'recovery' 5- Focus 6- Thanks I agree 100% with both rockyleal and icebreaker: Focus on maximizing our returns should be priority #1. Everything else could only divert time and effort that are too valuable to be wasted, I am specially thinking about dealing with GLBSE issues.
