NAV of jlh777hodl up to 6.2...

What does this mean?

their inventory is worth 6.2 nxt per asset

How do you know that?
And why is it then traded for 145 Nxt per asset?

(sorry for the noobish questions)

The asset gained NAV again. Now at 5.6 NAV and more assets for free to come. Amazing, you can literally buy the inventary at a 15-17% discount and still have the value from the free future assets!

Which is the ID of the official jl777hodl?

And can someone provide a desctiption how this works and why I should purchase this asset? What gives it value?

264  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-18] Bitcoin Core Developer Jeff Garzik Believes NXT is a “Scamcoin” on: September 22, 2014, 04:59:05 PM
It is good to see people criticize offshoots of Bitcoin, just like people who criticized Bitcoin itself when it was new to the scene. No other coin has survived the same stress test that Bitcoin has so far, which is why we see so many fervent supporters.

but now I see Bitcoiners who are in the same place as the Bitcoin naysayers were, that of "it isn't going to work. sure, fiat has its problems, but it gets the job done".

"it isn't going to work. sure, Bitcoin has its problems, but it gets the job done"

it seems short sighted to believe that Bitcoin is the best crypto, which is the view that a fair amount of people propagate. this isn't logical to me - bitcoin is the first attempt at using Bitcoin protocol for purposes of currency. obviously all cryptos that proceed the bitcoin currency aim to fix its flaws. I would wager that there is already a more powerful coin out there, but it will remain undiscovered until a majority of Bitcoiners detach themselves from the fatal ideology that is "Bitcoin is the best"

people are more interested in protecting their investments than in supporting a better technology, that is really what this all comes down to

Bought both on BTER and NXT AE, will vote YES for your bonus James. Just had a ~4K NXT loss with EVOLVE. Would have been a lot better investing in TOKEN. Lessons learned, not buying any crap until James recommends it.

well, it would be best to decide for yourself if it is worth investing in. you have the right to think Wink

Thanks for the tips. I'm not a good trader. But, I believe SuperNET will gain more value soon.

no need to be a good trader. you have to understand and envision where the crypto world is moving, this will allow you to pick good investments. if you understand supernet, you have a good grasp on where crypto will be in the next 6 months. the foundation has been laid

if you were alive for the advent of internet, this might help you

still arguments over coin name?

shirley you can't be serious. whoever is doing the work gets to name it, should be that simple
I think shirley would be a silly name for a crypto currency.  Tongue

I was actually going to make the recommendation...and then vehemently defend it to death

don't single out BTer. many exchanges have lost funds. Dgex/polo off the top of my head are two others. exchanges are obviously targets of hackers; it's equivalent to bank robbing in the early 20th century.

best advice - keep coins off exchange

Hey guys seeing as I own BTCD and have contributed to the community on this thread
(just letting you know this is not FUD - BTCD is great) but if you want to make
some quick profit I would seriously recommend Stealthcoin. Price by wednesday
will easily be above 20, some are saying above 25. That I dont know for sure.
Its also a pretty good coin for holding if you wanted to do that.

Now BTCD lets see $8 - ready when you are  Cool

value investing is much easier than the headache inducing day trading

PoS should not be looked at as a source of revenue, unless you're interested in a coin specifically for staking rewards like HYP or MINT. PoS is a method of securing the blockchain, it is not meant to be very profitable in most cases

We are dangerously close to a society in which we have no control over our hard earned money.

This is why I support BTCD, SuperNET, and crypto in general.

1984 is already here...has been for some time

hopefully cryptos are a viable solution

Should there be a buy wall set by James with guaranteed minimum price, if there is no such thing right now...??

the market does a pretty good job of keeping up by itself. by tomorrow it will be floating around 5.3-5.5

why is coinsco (tradebots) half the price of instadex? seems like tradebots will be much more active than humans, thus a higher revenue

are there assets being added to jl777hodl in the near future?

This is exactly the right question, and we need a better answer for it. Because we, in the West, have been buying into and trading derivatives for a decade now, we (with short memories) forget that a financial product must be tied to something. So mcjavar is asking what this product is tied to. The tie is not just what is supposedly put into the basket of goods that bear the name of the asset, but what one can get in return for the asset. If the asset is simply pegged to a NXT-value of assets that themselves have value, then there is no redemption, but only a peg. There is only the expectation that this asset can be sold to someone else who believes that the asset has a value, and that that value derives from the peg.

So what's the better answer to mcjavar's question? The better answer must include a reference to the redemption value of the asset, and not simply the supposed input value of the asset from the supplier's side.

you can get bitcoin, which you can use to pay for things. if you can't use bitcoin, then you can use convert to fiat and pay for things then.

what other redemption value would it have besides nxt -> bitcoin -> fiat?

it's not like the silver asset which can be redeemed for silver bars. jlhodl777 is mainly redeemed by NXT, unless you find someone accepting the asset to pay for goods. not likely at this point in time

if i'm totally off the mark, could you give an example of an asset with a redeemable value, besides precious metals?

I don't understand SuperNET at all and http://supernet.answerbase.com is completely useless. Can someone please give me a TL;DR?

supernet will take some time to understand. there really is no TL;DR

i put a bit of info up here last weekend, but its rather incomplete

Thank you! As far as I understand correctly, there are no dividends, nor can you withdraw any asset in exchange for jl777hodl. What gives it value then?

the value comes from the assets being held in the jl777hodl account. you can look at NXT-2AHU-UXZW-K9Q2-HENLW, add the value of the assets there, divide by outstanding shares, and get your NAV.

the value comes from the assets jl777hodl has. it is like investing in a fund
