We are now banking at a few locations, the most notable being IAFCU which the bitcoin community strongly recommended. Thank you for all your help and support!

Have you had movement toward larger gold pieces?

Larger in quantity or larger in size?
264  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: August 16, 2013, 01:53:59 PM
Wow I'm amazed my gold order shipped already.  Record time for this company.  Must have something to do with all the complaints.  But what happened the platinum you guys have been saying your going to offer?  That was like weeks ago.

We've hired some additional staff over the last few weeks and improved our shipping systems, so everything is shipping faster!

We are still working on getting the Platinum! We are reducing our product offerings to a few select products in each category so we can refocus on our mission statement, to simplify the buying process of precious metals.

"24 business hours" with 8 hour days = 3 business days?

In general, if you place an order for in-stock silver it ships the next business day. This is the goal we set for ourselves and what is normally accomplished. However our official policy, as stated on the website, is 3-5 business days as a buffer in case we receive a large influx of orders, which is sometimes the case during holidays or spikes in prices.

The same applies to our customer service response time. In general, if you send us an email we respond within 4 business hours. This is the goal we set for ourselves and what is normally accomplished. However our official policy is 24 business hours in case our staff does not get to an inquiry immediately.

Compared to the other large bullion dealers, we are quite proud of our shipping times, customer service response times, and friendliness of our customer service team. Testing against our competitors, we have found that we ship the quickest, on average, respond to queries faster, and have the best customer service in the industry. This does not mean that we are perfect or do not have room for improvement, because we are always trying to improve and better ourselves. You may find a few specific examples where this is not the case, but in the long run we are doing quite well and far better than our competitors.

There are anecdotes of an unhappy customer because they received their shipment later than expected or a poor customer service experience. We always try to work with the customer to find what they want and try to make things right with them. As the saying goes, anecdotes are not data, and for the most part we do things right. This can be seen from the exponential increase in our monthly sales, the continuous hiring of new staff, one of which can be directly attributed to a growth in sales from the bitcoin community, lower prices, more coin shows, and the numerous emails and posts of praise from our amazing customers and fans. Yes, we do have growing pains sometimes, but we always try to make things right and you can always count on that consistency.

You may be able to find an individual within the bitcoin community who has better prices or faster shipping at times. However they are usually individuals who only serve the bitcoin community. They do not have the reputation or established brand or consistency that we have. They come and go frequently. Free markets are beautiful because they must do things such as try to offer better prices, shipping times, customer service for them to compete against their rivals. When they reach the same size as Amagi Metals and they still offer better prices, shipping times, and customer service, then kudos to them, they are clearly doing something right. Unfortunate as it is to break to everyone, the bitcoin community is not our primary market, nor is it the majority of our business. At this time we have yet to find a precious metals eCommerce dealer of our size that offers the same type of service that we do. And we plan to keep it that way. Even though the BTC community is not our primary target we do love the bitcoin community because we are advocates of free markets and alternative competing currencies which align closely with the values of many bitcoin enthusiasts. In addition, we would not be where we are today without the bitcoin community. For example, we receive the most feedback from the bitcoin community, probably because of the unique perspective that most of the members have, than any other group. As such, we hope to continue to serve and improve our services to the bitcoin community for a long time to come.

We would also like to make a request to some of the posters on our thread. It appears that we have attracted a few posters, that have low post numbers in which half, or more than half, of all their comments are nitpicking at every comment we are making in every thread that we post in, including this one, while aggressively promoting other dealers. It's uncool. We would appreciate the courtesy of keeping the comments to yourself or create your own "Amagi Haters Club" thread elsewhere. Thank you.
266  Other / Politics & Society / Re: government opening my packages? on: August 15, 2013, 02:54:22 AM
Report in AgoraCommodities thread says that they tape all the sides, and their prices are better anyway with no 1% "bitcoin processing fee."

Their prices aren't better, especially when you include shipping. Normally we tape all sides. We have hired additional staff over the last few weeks and have been training them on shipping so I think a few were not taped all the way around. This issue was addressed though.

If a postal inspector has reasonable doubt of a shipment having illegal contents I think they must get a warrant before opening a package. They normally carefully open it and document it in such a way that they can duplicate the way the shipment was packaged so that they can reseal it without it looking like it had ever been opened in the first place.
267  Economy / Goods / Re: Second Arrow Silver- Liberty Minded Silver Bullion on: August 15, 2013, 02:43:05 AM
They have /an/ address.

Most of the large vendors have multiple physical locations.  The "main office" is often not where the actual material is stored.

What is Provident Metals address?
268  Economy / Goods / Re: Second Arrow Silver- Liberty Minded Silver Bullion on: August 14, 2013, 02:56:15 PM
...The reason we do not release our physical address is because of the safety risk to our employees and families, as we hold and transport large amounts of silver bullion.

Whilst I understand this and applaud the forethought for employee safety, you're asking us, the community, to pay for goods which are 3-6 weeks away from shipping.
You state you need to wait for X amount of people to buy so you can get coins minted at a reasonable price, yet there lies a potential problem...

You don't meet the required number in time that means minting is delayed. The deadline then becomes longer and longer (as less people will buy due to no-one yet receiving their coin).
The question becomes do you honour refunds, pull a BFL (all sales are final, no refunds crap) or just disappear with peoples money?

The option for the latter is definately there because you've remained anonymous to 'protect employees'. You have no traceability.
Casascius has released his details, as has Smoothie. Both deal in silver coins and bitcoin. Both are technically targetable under your logic, yet neither have been.

Casascius' market is the bitcoin community. As much as we wish it was bigger, the bitcoin community is tiny in comparison to the precious metals industry. Many eCommerce bullion businesses do not post their physical address because they are pushing through tens, or hundreds of millions of dollars per month in gold and silver. On any given day they may have up to $10 million dollars in precious metals.

Second Arrow Silver customers are the entire precious metals industry and more. As an example, many of our Second Arrow Silver customers are not bitcoin customers. With their volume, they are much safer not posting their address, and I doubt they will lose much business over it, if any. This company has a lot of great products and really fun to work with. We have sold pre-ordered Manning rounds and will be selling their other products once those begin shipping.
269  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: August 14, 2013, 02:18:37 PM
We're still here and have a lot to say!

This guy is blatantly lieing... I purchased 5oz of in stock silver over 5 days ago and still has not shipped.. This is bullshit.. Just return my coins please.. I don't want your silver.

And I surely won't be doing business with you further.. I bought from you because you said it ships in 24hrs... 5 days later, no silver, no shipment notification.. Nothing not even a notice.

Customer Placed order at 4:45pm MST on Thursday. Shipment sent Tuesday morning.

The Cannabis round MIGHT be re-released. But, just like the AG-47 ("Come and Take Them), if it is re-released it will have a different back than the original  release. I ordered some Freedom Girl rounds the other day and (I think-they're not available for sale anymore on the site I bought them) those also had the different back.
Its a subtle difference, but the AG-47 "re-releases", along with the Freedom Girls that were still available for sale a few days ago (I think) are distinct from the original releases. The backs of the new ones (re-releases) have the trivium design around the center of the logo. The backs of the old ones do not.
In this way, its obviously very easy to tell an original from a re-release. If the Cannabis rounds are re-released, I guarantee they'll have this new back, too. I'm sure this will have an affect on value of the rounds. For example, a Cannabis round with the old back will obviously be more sought after than a new one with the new back if it is re-released. But, as mentioned, this difference is subtle. Maybe it will go unnoticed by some ; )

You can find more about SBSS stuff here: http://dont-tread-on.me/?p=30606 and here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivK54nEhgjI. We are one of the four US official dealers of these rounds. The other official dealers are Gainesville, SilverGoldBull, and SDBullion. Of course we are the only ones that accept bitcoins.

Pre-Orders for the rereleased AG-47 rounds began last Friday. Pre-orders for the re-released cannabis rounds will be out THIS FRIDAY (8/16). The re-released versions are officially approved by Chris Duane. In addition they are produced by another mint that has been in the industry for 30+ years.

As Johnniewwalker states the reverses are slightly different. They have Chris Duane's initials on them and the trivium design. The Freedom Girl rounds that Johniewalker purchased are NOT re-releases. They are from the original designs. They were just inventory we had ordered from the mint and had not allocated yet. There's going to be a very amazing SBSS silver round released after the Cannabis round, so check back for that Smiley.

Customer who accused us of scamming/lying and not receiving their goods stopped all communication with us once we requested their cooperation to file a police/postal inspector report and insurance claim.

This slow shipping crap on 'in stock items' isn't just this one customer I actually do have tracking number and orders placed with amagi that said in stock and took over well over 3 weeks to deliver during that time gold prices dropped 160 per oz.  I lost almost 2000$ in gold value because of this price drop on items that should have been 'in stock' and shipped PRIORITY!  The gold was a  long term investments any way and I will have it for years, but what if that wasn't my plans for it?  These were not small orders, at least not small to me.  The only thing that has ever been shipped in a reasonable amount of time were some silver bars that said 'immediate shipping' and they were shipped within a week that was the only order I have ever been satisfied with amagi.

these were brand new OPM bars that said in stock, they had just got them after all the pamp and other bars were in delay.  Is said in stock when I ordered.
ordered 6/7/13
usps Shipped/Billed On:    06/27/2011 delivered 07/08/2013    also ups ground took a week to get here, not priority like I payed for
ordered 6/8/13
usps Shipped/Billed On:    06/27/201 delivered  07/08/2013  also they sent it ups ground took a week to get here, not priority like I payed for

I have other orders just the same, well none of them recent anymore.  I wouldn't put another penny into this company until they can get either their website 'instock' items and accurate or get a real assistant to process orders for you.  Your email feedback support is great.  Shipping, should be a very high priority for you.  I have had to email support after 2 weeks every order asking for an update.  At least support is quick and responsive.  But it doesn't really solve the problem

You can post this rant in another section or delete it but this is my experience with this company, I don't want to destroy your business in anyway I think its a great IDEA.  But I think changes need to be made for your business to be a real success.

The in stock idea must be a blatant lie.  Money comes in (in this case btc) and THEN they order it.  I imagine that is exactly how it works.  Probably the same thing with Coinabul.  These guys don't have enough money laying around to have millions of dollars of product sitting some place for order.  Highly unlikely they have enough volume to not be able to ship same day, especially with btc payments.  I think if btc is paid, they need to ship the same fucking day.  The only other precious metals dealer that takes btc, that I know of, is Agora Commodities.  Not sure how tight of a ship they run.

Our bitcoin sales range between $500k-$1 million per month and that does not include our traditional sales which we usually do much more of than bitcoin sales. We actually do ship silver (that is not pre-ordered) within 24 business hours. Gold is now shipping 1-7 business days. We have hired several additional staff to speed up shipments. Now that the markets are no longer in relative turmoil shipments are getting sent pretty quickly. In addition, no precious metals eCommerce dealer ships same day. Call Provident Metals/APMEX/Gainesville. See how their business model works. Ours is pretty much the same, however we normally ship faster than them now...

271  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMAGI METALS (BEWARE) on: August 09, 2013, 03:41:54 AM
Added these guys to bitcoinscammers.com Please update as to the outcome ASAP so the community can gain the best aspect possible.  Hopefully they will get the ball rolling

We have contacted the customer via phone and email with no response as of today.

The customer has made several purchases, all requiring signatures and all signed by the same person, including the last shipment. The customer was unhappy that the shipment was shipped slower than expected. The customer accused us of scamming them, lying, sending a fake tracking number, and other defamatory remarks and wanted a full refund.

However the tracking number is directly linked to the address, shows that it was delivered, and was signed by the same recipient as before.

If it is the case that the last shipment was signed with the same signature, but by a different person, then this would be forgery/theft/fraud. We take fraud and theft very seriously. We requested cooperation from the customer to help us to fill out a police report if fraud is the case. In addition we may need the customer to fill out an affidavit for the insurance company so that the insurance company can work with the postal inspectors and make sure that this is resolved immediately.
272  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMAGI METALS (BEWARE) on: August 08, 2013, 06:49:45 PM
If you would like, we can post all tracking numbers which clearly show that the shipments were signed by the same person over the course of two months, including the latest order.
273  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: August 08, 2013, 03:16:45 AM
The customer was trying to seek both the goods and the payment. All shipments arrived and were signed by the customer. In addition all emails were addressed and answered within 24 business hours.

Alot of people may ignore this warning but

DO NOT ORDER FROM AMAGI METALS.

The lies coming from these people are ridiculous, unacceptable and simply mind blowing to say the least.

Customer made several purchases from us over the last few months. All were delivered with signature confirmation by the same person.
275  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMAGI METALS (BEWARE) on: August 07, 2013, 09:25:28 PM
Never thought I would post one of these but Amagi Metals in my eyes is no longer a trusted site for ANYTHING. I have tons of emails filled with lies for over a month now that are just ridiculous. There are others in the same boat but I guess someone has to speak up.

Customer made several purchases from us. All were shipped, delivered, and signature verified by the same person.

just got my maple leafs today. you guys are my favorite metals dealer so far (fast shipping, tracking number, pay with BTC Smiley

i do have a question though. i understand buying a monster box (value over $10,000) requires an 8300 form to be filled because its legal tender. does this also apply to the generic rounds when the purchase is above $10,000 when paying with BTC?

At this time Form 8300 only applies if you purchase $10,000 worth of gold and silver in cash/money order or if you purchase legal tender coins with BTC. If you are purchasing bars/rounds, then we do not need you to fill out form 8300. Of course government regulations could change at any time in the future. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
277  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: August 01, 2013, 05:30:57 PM
This is my 3rd order with Amagi. The first two weren't of any trouble whatsoever but the actions taken in reference to my third order is simply unacceptable.

My order was placed on July 2nd (specifically chose products in stock). Its is now the 31st and I have yet to receive my order or any explanation even after SEVERAL emails. On the 24th I was sent an email that my ordered had been shipped. That would of been great but the USPS tracking number Amagi directly sent me indicates nothing at all has even been sent. I was essentially sent tracking info from an electronic shipping label for a package that has never been received by USPS to be shipped.

Like I said in the beginning, the first two orders weren't bad but the stringing along and utter customer disregard is not acceptable for any order, let alone a larger sized one. I didn't want to post this experience but obviously it is probably the only way anything will get done about this situation.

Thank you for the post. The 5 gram gold bars were shipping a little slower than expected. However your order has shipped. I believe an email response was sent to you within 4 business hours as our policy is to respond to all email inquiries within 4 hours. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Priority Mail International Medium Flat Rate Box $76.26

International Priority $94.14

What is the difference?

International Priority is FedEx and Flat Rate Box is USPS.

How are the bank account issues going?

Thank you for asking! Bank of America and Wells Fargo will not open any business accounts of businesses that accept or even hold bitcoins. We submitted applications to IAFCU and Silicon Valley and look forward to hearing from them!
