261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition for sites to accept Bitcoin? on: October 16, 2016, 10:16:19 PM
It would work if we honestly had a leg to stand on,in causing these sites to lose business if they did not play ball.
Sadly bitcoiners are gamblers, traders and darknet users to most of these sites and they do not see much upside in adding a feature that could just create more work for them in the end.
Was thinking about this after I think you read the same thread about the medical website and chewing over the same thought.
We are as a community a little narrow focused by nature due to people wanting to cash in on bitcoin and due to the history of early adopters.
It almost was a good thing at first but now its showing its true teeth and we need to some how expand the field in a more diligent manner.

Dating sites seem like a good spot to hit up but they are really about mining personal data and bitcoin would detract a bit of info collection on that side. Really not sure the best tact but its going to take a huge shift to grow the biosphere of bitcoin to get different people involved.
262  Other / Off-topic / Re: If Bitcoin price would fall to the bottom, what would you do next? on: October 16, 2016, 09:43:10 PM
I like nothing better to come into a race when a horse is beaten to near death and stock up and dream about being rich on a longshot.
Part of me really hangs around this forum for bitcoin but there is a part of me that wants to get in on the ground floor of the next big thing.
Lot of people know this and its the reason ponzi and altcoins are so popular, but I still think a new wave is near for something like virtual reality and people will make a killing.
If bitcoin heads to peanuts I will roll the dice and wait to see if it can breathe new life into its self,if not I lose but the potential to gain feels bigger.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Ask The Doctor" Adds Bitcoin to Payment Options on: October 16, 2016, 09:35:32 PM
That is a interesting off shoot, should help every one out here that googles any little cut to find out its a death sentence.
I swear I went to my doctor and he told me I could trust certain sites and it never fails to point out that I am short for this earth and death is knocking for a minor cold or hang nail.

Wonder why they would add bitcoin, its a interesting development besides my biased towards online medical treatment help.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Better Advertise Gambling Site? on: October 16, 2016, 09:31:58 PM
This is not the place to advertise or work on technical issues you are having in drawing in customers, check some of the subforums for help in that area. Most people will not click on the link either way,due to you being such a new account.

Poker is a saturated market and I think a good chunk are faucet types that are just gravitating site to site looking for freerolls.
The players you want are already rooted in etablished sites and unlikely to stretch out into the unknown being a new site.
Go through this site and see how many poker sites have failed.
265  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: [Phishing] Be careful! www bi0ckchein info/Wallet/Login‎ on: October 16, 2016, 09:28:19 PM
Google has really been pissing me off lately with their little campaigns to drive out competition or make certain political views come off as fact.
Its pretty clear they could protect users but flagrantly allow this bullshit to continue on their searches.
People need to stop giving these big companies so much power and start using other methods of searching, even if it is a weaker product.
Need to send a message that they can not sway the public in these ways.

That stated, this issue has been going on for a hella long time and people should be very careful on what sites they click.
Like me looking for the NFL Live stream on twitter,I just about clicked on two nefarious links that would have most likely messed my computer up. Does twitter make it clear whats going on? NO! Leaving the customer once again open to these asshats that just want to invade us for personal details.
266  Economy / Web Wallets / Import Paper Waller on Blockchain.info on: October 16, 2016, 06:24:41 PM
Recently upgraded my computer and was unable to get into my blockchain wallet due to my computer being out of date and now I am getting used to the new blockchain and have a question about importing paper wallets.

Tried to find how to do this but all I could see was options related to buying and selling and nothing about import/export.
So I was forced to use my mycellium wallet to get paper wallets from a bitcoin atm onto my blockchain wallet.

Does anyone have a link or know how I can import paper wallets into my blockchain wallet?
Was easy on the old wallet but I can not find anything on the new one, please help me out. Smiley
267  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the economy situation in your country that bad? on: October 16, 2016, 05:48:47 PM
Would help if people stated where they are from when answering this as it helps relate their perspective on the economy, otherwise its just a random post and you are left wondering where the poster is from.

Canada:

The problem with the economy here is we are very resource based and a lot of what happens is dictated by our southern neighbors(USA) and they are currently in hibernation till after the elections. Both parties seem to be protectionists and that means less free trade, which is going to hurt us a lot.
Soft wood lumber and the Keystone pipeline are two big issues and we are usually loggerheads at the best of times.

The one thing that was boosting the economy was real estate sales and now that the government has cracked down on foreign owners buying and flipping by raising taxes on them. Its been well known for a well that China was unloading dirty money into the real estate to get it abroad.
This will slow down construction of new homes another big aspect of our economy, leaving mostly young men out of work. This will tend to hit 7 months from that actual issue as projects wrap up and nothing new is started.

The economy is in trouble and the government is putting lipstick on the pig to keep people from going out the window and causing mass panic.
But this really could be said about a lot of countries right now and we have really been in this state since 2008.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government Trapdoors Spying Tool Could Decrypt Millions of Cryptographic Keys on: October 16, 2016, 05:27:17 PM
The posts you are making come across more as advertising or press releases, not actual discussion pieces. Looking back at the last few threads started its evident that people are not responding or you are offering rebuttal. Might be better served to post in press section to cut down on the spam aspect. Just a thought, since I think it will become apparent sooner than later.
New accounts tend to get less clicks on links as well, due to the nefarious nature that comes along with accounts with no roots in the forum.

On the topic...I imagine that spy agencies will constantly be looking for ways to piggyback on the delivery of bitcoin to figure out where they are going and who is storing them. Lot of the foundation of bitcoin is beyond me but I think once we have a issue that leeches the system it would become obvious to those that are fanatics and follow every aspect down to the nuts.
269  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where u use bitcoins? on: October 14, 2016, 10:22:00 PM
I plan to start incorporating more aspects of bitcoin as I get a few financial matters squared away.
But doing so I still plan to create a stand alone bank account,in case I run into any issues and wind up with a closed account due to the bank not liking bitcoin.
Will try to make all my online memberships through bitcoin and will be looking into chess.com to see if I can ring bitcoin there.
270  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin affects life a lot on: October 14, 2016, 09:13:16 PM
The issue is not bitcoin OP but that you need to find a balance and that is what life is all about. If you get to heavy in one area you neglect another side of yourself and it gets worse with age. We often run from things we hate, when those same things are what makes us grow as human beings. If you constantly run from the world you get trapped into a small little box.
Would suggest you maybe invest in opposing hobbies that develop the body,as the mind is most likely getting its due course well you learn to code.
271  Economy / Economics / Re: How would you double $100,000 safely? on: October 14, 2016, 09:08:48 PM
So many posts in relation to doubling or making fast cash and the majority of the people will never have the riches they are chasing. Its all due to not being able to be patient and let the asset sit. Go trade .1 bitcoin back and forth for a few hours and see how the fees eat into you,its the same way with quick schemes that people fall prey to left and right. Slow and steady is the only way to make money long term, unless you want to be rich, broke, rich and broke again in cycles.
272  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Digital Currency Exchange Bitfinex Limping Along Following $70 Million Hack on: October 14, 2016, 09:03:24 PM
Its really to bad that this happened to Bitfinex. Before this issue I really enjoyed trading at their site because I felt a little more insulated as a newbie trying to learn the ins and outs and not wanting to be burnt trading bitcoin at more established sites. Meaning trading altcoins only and it was a great site to learn on.
Struggling is amazing, since I thought they would be done after the issue came out. Personally would not touch them at all and think a majority would feel the same way,but I could be wrong as well.
273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Currently, what's your way of generating Bitcoins? on: October 14, 2016, 08:32:32 PM
When I first got started it was faucets just to get a hang of how bitcoin works, now my main way of generating bitcoin is by heading down to a bitcoin atm and buying it. Wink
Did I mention the closest one is in a area where the cops drive by every 20 seconds and the crackheads are all over the place.
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping Uber drivers with bitcoin on: October 14, 2016, 05:09:35 PM
Wish Uber was settled in here but legal issues seem to be hampering their setup.
Our Taxi drivers are the most annoying people chanting religiously, blasting Indian music,robbing/raping drunk people and always working a angle to rip the customer off. Yet they can lock you in as well, which makes no sense.
The licenses are worth a lot of money and I think the taxi lobby is really putting the squeeze to keep Uber out.

Some form of sticker that is at eye level would be the best trick as most have already pointed to.
Or even ask me about bitcoin sticker,it would open up discussion for those unfamiliar or slightly interested.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Dotcom: Bitcache Will Be ‘Off Chain Due to Limitations’ on: October 13, 2016, 05:16:55 PM
Been reading stuff about this topic and always leave the article feeling like its a ponzi or I am missing something. The fact that we will be dealing with microtransactions does not change the issue of vulnerability in the wallet. That seems a bit odd to say if he is hoping to build such a large platform with many users.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Integrate Bitcoin payment in Facebook on: October 13, 2016, 05:10:39 PM
Facebook is a company that is looking for world domination by getting their users into a usury relationship. The more control they have in what they present to you,the more control they will have over you at the end of the day. You can see this in any big company.

It may seem like a great idea but look back at the Zynga poker situation where there was talk of making it a actual poker site. People where frothing at the lips thinking about all the fish this would bring to the poker scene. It died on the vine because they do not want or choose to pursue the idea. Bitcoin would go the same route as they attempted to play with it to gain more info on their users.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is being invaded by Leftists on: October 13, 2016, 05:05:16 PM
Nothing that happens in the world can be completely isolated from the rest of the world. The identity of anything in the world is the result of the clash of prevailing forces and can never be 100% pure. Bitcoin is no different, its identity is being molded from pressure on all sides. Nothing that anyone can do about it, unless you want to take up arms and try to enforce your ideals  Roll Eyes
BTW I don't think democracy is any better than dictatorship, they are both flawed.

I'd just wish bitcoin users were intelligent and rational, but even this is too much to ask.

Bitcoin started out very good, with intelligent people leading it, but now more and more dumb people come up with their stupid ideas is concerning to me.

The interesting aspect that is coming through for me reading the replies you give,is you seem to see this issue as very black and white. Those that are not in agreement are dumb and left leaning.
This is actually more scary than what you are worried about in my eyes and perception is really all we have.
Also think you have a issue of seeing commies everywhere and in turn they show up everywhere you look. The right are still active you just need to go deeper into conversations to see that bitcoin offers a stage for all people.
278  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: October 12, 2016, 05:41:35 PM
Something that bugs me about bitcoin is that whenever I buy or sell it is based on the USD,meaning I not only potentially get screwed by the seller with a overprice but I also get dinged on the conversion to CAD from USD. Seems to setup a double thronged issue at times that I do not get with the Dollar.

Thats just something I seem to think about when it comes to one versus the other and its petty if I plan for the issue.
279  Economy / Economics / Re: Japan Relents, Will Kill Sales Tax on Bitcoin Buying on: October 12, 2016, 05:38:52 PM
Japan needs to open up and this is a good step forward to appeasing their population and allowing them to foster a connection to bitcoin without the overbearing taxation of it. When it first came out that Japan was going to tax bitcoin,I felt like it was a attempt to kill bitcoin but now it seems they realize the mistake they made and are being proactive. Least I hope this to be the case.
280  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much is my account worth? on: October 11, 2016, 11:32:26 PM
Nothing.

I like how you went back and took all your ass hole remarks and assumes back because you realized you were wrong for it

If he did erase anything from his post it was after looking at your post history and realizing it was a waste of time.
Posting all over about how no one will touch you for a loan achieves the exact opposite of what you think it does.
Take a closer look at the lending standards and you will notice that very few people under full member are even getting a sniff at loans.
The reason is supply and demand, plus the fact that a lot of new accounts hit and run.
You have quite a few knocks against you now with this account and you can keep going down the rabbit hole or start over.
