Tell me about it. I was the majority shareholder who got fleeced by cuddlefish in that one.
Its too bad because it was a good idea that still needs development for just these reasons I strongly agree that we really do need services that allow for convenient real life exchanging and I also see online p2p dark exchanges as one great possibility. It's time to wake up people and start doing something about it. If no one does it till summer I will.

there should be some website like btcnearme but to include (more) travelers that would be willing to transport the cash
tourists that visit some country...
there was ubitex, until the guy decided to split

If I were Gavin I'd be totally pissed with people constantly bothering him about exchange business. He has nothing to do with it, leave him out of it for haven's sake.

It's not like mtgox is the last exchange standing. I actually think mtgox going away (for a while) would be beneficial to bitcoin, as the volume would spread out over smaller exchanges, and shutting down any of them after that wouldn't be so disruptive.

ZOMG.... Panic sellers!!!!
I just woke up to lots of withdraw requests. I'll get them processed ASAP in the next hour. So don't worry they're coming.
Thanks,
Well.. it's time to turn on my bitcoin panic buying mode... yeah, well too late for selling now. Thanks pirate, you might have prevented a deeper crash

New color looks good.
I think the following is a bug: On my Android 2.3 phone, every time I restart the app I get the BitcoinSpinner title bar, but the window is just black. I have to press my phone's back button for the content to appear.
I am not able to reproduce this behavior. Please help me debug by trying out a few things. Questions: Does it happen if you leave the app running and wait for the power saver to kick in, and restart? Does it happen if you close the app with the 'back' button, and restart? Does it happen if you close the app with the 'home' button, and restart? Does it happen every time you close and start the app, or do you have to run some other apps in between? How about if you are not on the main screen? Does this happen on the Send Coins page, Transaction History page? I have the same bug, this is definitely new behavior (came with the latest update). As far as I can tell it only happens when you leave the app running in the background for some time. I'll try these and report back. Edit: 2. and 3. work. I don't know how 4. is different from 1.? I'm pretty sure the cause is the same as it was with the crash earlier. Thanks for the feedback. Do you observe the same behavior when you are in the Send Coins view, Transaction history view, or Settings view? on it, will report back.

Would this be a valid attack? Imagine Goldman Sachs & friends buy a large amount of all the available Bitcoins, park them - and throw away all information where they are parked. The money it would cost would be peanuts for them (a fraction of their bailout money ... and "Problem Bitcoin" would be solved before it's getting to big. Only another chain would pop up shortly after that...

Hoping tradehill 2.0 will be even better.

You'll be much better off lending to people with good rep on the forums.

If this proves to go well, I will design a web interface to allow you to see your current balance and make deposits/withdrawals.
Any news on this? It'd be awesome.

Hi, I really like BitcoinSpinner! Is it possible to multiple accounts/addresses, like bitcoind allows?
Thanks. Please leave a five star review at the Android Market BitcoinSpinner currently only uses one Bitcoin address, but you can manage several wallets by using the backup/restore functionality. I have 2 QR-code backups, one for the BitcoinSpinner donation address and one for my private wallet. Swapping back and forth is as easy as scanning a QR-code. it'd be great if you would implement a deterministic wallet at some point. Then anyone could have as many addresses as they want.

Good thing bitcoin isn't used in the USA only, then.

I have a question. Does the dividend percentage start at 1% for each new chunk at the time of deposit, or is it carried over from other deposits? it was arranged as a special via PM due to my offer terms maybe
fair enough.

250 BTC sent Current availability is: 195 btc. Huh?

Can someone please explain to me what's the point in removing support for sepa withdrawals? Afaik sepa is reversible and that's why it makes sense not to use it for deposits, but what could I do when withdrawing, return the money? It makes no sense.

That's because it's been broadcasted but not yet included in a block. It probably has a low priority.
because of the 0.0001 tx fee, not 0.0005? larger transactions have higher priority, and transactions with older inputs have higher priority. My guess is after 9 hours inputs were old enough someone would actually process it.

and the thing is the recipient can see the transaction, it's just sitting at 0.0059 with 0 confirmed. blockexplorer doesn't even see the tx id...

Using floating point numbers? Oh my.

Hmmm maybe I should start a pool and then after a while of mining pretend my pool got jacked by a hacker this. This all just sounds so far fetched...
