2601  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long ukraine could survive? on: March 20, 2022, 07:00:33 PM
The main purpose of Putin is the demilitarize Ukraine, they are not there to completely destroy the country. Ukraine is a strategic region for Russia, it's beneficial if they intend to make use of the country for improving economic activity especially because Crimea's coast is a large part of Ukraine.

I haven't read such big nonsense for a while. If they want to ''demilitarize'' Ukraine, why they are targeting civilian objects - aprtment houses, schools, hospitals, theatres, churches and so on? Is it military objects? There was report that 90% of buildings in Mariupol were more or less damaged or destroyed by Russian army. If they will want to use Ukraine as strategic region for their economic, first they will have to spend many billions to rebuild country. And I hope that they will have to spend these billions as war reparations, same as Germany did after WW2.

De Klassieker between Ajax and Feyenoord was great game.It was so hot that fire literally break out in the stadium:
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ajax-feyenoord-fire-stadium-klassieker-26512714
Ajax managed to win game 3:2, but I agree with post above that they no longer reminds that team which we saw in first part of season. After this loss, Feyenoord is ofcially out of title race, they're 11 points behind Ajax. Meanwhile PSV didn't had any problems against Fortuna Sittard, won game 5:0 and still keep close 2pts distance from Ajax.
2603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: March 20, 2022, 06:27:09 PM
Damn, what a season opener. Well deserved win for Leclerc, but his fight with Verstappen in first part of race was epic. There is concerning things for Red Bull - it's not about the pace, but 3 of 4 their cars haven't reached finish after engine related issues.
I think Mercedes should be happy about today's result - P3 and P4 is best what they can achieve now.
What a return for Magnussen - P5. Can someone imagine Mazepin in P5? Cheesy And solid debut for Zhou, point in his 1st race.
It's only sad to see Mclaren, who aren't competetive at all yet.
Next race in Jeddah is next weekend already!
2604  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 20, 2022, 12:39:21 AM
While EU are making sanctions against Russia with one hand, they are funding car in Ukraine with another hand by buying fuuel from Russia. Since war started, EU paid over $16 billion for fuel import. Fuel - oil and gas always been main source of income for Russia and it continue to be. Yes, I know that it would be difficult to find replacement for their gas and oil and set up whole supply proccess in such short time, but there is so much hipocrisy in EU actions.
https://www.newsweek.com/eu-paid-russia-16bn-fossil-fuels-since-start-ukraine-war-1689448

Freedom of speech like this?

The west banned their own president from every social media there is.

Seized the Russian properties regardless of whom the owner is supporting (seriously why haven't the UK questioned the source of Abramovitz's wealth before?), kicking people out of colleges, not letting Russian people into the restaurants (wtf?)

I haven't been to Russia so I can't say anything about the country but the west's mask has slipped, they are also not what they claim to be.

edit: Also see the Canadian truckers and what happened to them and their bank accounts. Freedom of speech my ass.
I don't agree with banning Trump from social media, removing videos that someone don't like and etc. Probably there is no country in the world with complete freedom of speech. But I think that is simply not correct to compare level of censorship in Russia and in the Western countries.
IMO, in this case, seizing Russian properites isn't something wrong, while removing people from college is overkill. While not letting Russian people into restaurants is just initiative by few restaurants in the world and it's not pushed by government.
2605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 20, 2022, 12:16:18 AM
I think Roma can't be happy about the draw. Bodo/Glimt isn't easy opponent for them, it's least what I could say. In Norway, Roma were destroyed  6:1, in Rome game ended 2:2. Yeah, on paper Roma is better, but I'm not confident about them getting through.
Agree that Leicester - PSV is best game in this round and I'm nacking PSV here. Also, I would love to see Slavia getting through Feyenoord.
2606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 18, 2022, 11:34:59 PM
I think Liverpool has the easiest of ties. Even in the Arsenal game, they didn't play too good but they got the goals they needed to win. Benfica will not be a difficult team to beat Liverpool is more experienced than their rivals. In my opinion Liverpool can easily move to semi finals. Liverpool is the favorite to win, Benfica do not stand a chance
I think you understimate Benfica too much. Yeah, LFC is big favorites, but I woludn't say that Benfica don't stand a chance. They already kicked out Ajax, which is very solid team this season. IMO, Bayern got easiest opponent. Villarreal is dark horse of tournament, they already eliminated Juventus quite unexpected, but I don't see chances for them against Bayern.
2607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: March 18, 2022, 11:29:39 PM
I can't be not happy about opponent that Barca got. Yeah, we had problems against Galatasaray, so, Eintracht won't be easy too. But it's not worth to expect easy opponents at this phase of tournament.
Leipzig - Atalanta sound interesting and not predictable. It wouldn't be bad pair even in Champions league. In West Ham - Lyon pair I see Hammers as slighlty favorites. And Braga - Rangers pair sounds least sexy from all, I expect Rangers to go through.
2608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 18, 2022, 10:46:48 AM
I saw many pitch invaders - some try to hug player or take selfie, some trying to promote something on their shirt, or running naked to get attention. But I never saw that pitch invader would tie himself to goal post as sign of protest, When I turned in game on TV and saw that's interruoted, I didn't even understood what's going on:
https://www.eurosport.com/football/premier-league/2021-2022/everton-v-newcastle-halted-by-a-protester-who-decided-to-tie-himself-to-a-goal-post-in-the-second-ha_sto8849000/story.shtml

What an important win for most of the people on Everton match. When i saw that red card i was thinking that Everton cant possible win and that i lost some really important points. But this 1.5 points for me is huge and im so close to top 5. Also this round gaved us so many leaders on first place. It will get even more intresting now.
Yeah, it seems that many backed Everton. Don't know why I predicted Newcastle win, during game I was sure that I had draw, so, when Everton scored I wasn't very happy Cheesy. Anyway, not bad round for me, up to 19th place, season high for me so far.

New season finally starts tomorrow.Guys, do you feel gossebumps already? I haven't been so hyped for a long time.
Vettel did not travel to Bahrain at all - he still tested positive in Switzerland - and Hülkenberg will drive for Aston Martin in Bahrain instead.

I think Corona will be around for a while this season and Hülkenberg could be in a Formula 1 cockpit more often this year.

https://sport.sky.de/formel1/artikel/formel-1-news-sebastian-vettel-positiv-auf-das-coronavirus-getestet/12568268/34130
I expected to see Hulkenber guest appearance during the season, but definitely not in the first race of season. Getting covid is bad news for Vettel, but I'm always happy to see Hulk racing.

2610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 17, 2022, 11:13:35 PM
Probably not many watched LASK - Slavia game, I saw moments of it on simulcast and it was quite epic. Slavia were leading 2:1, they got red card, but managed to score another goal. In 2nd half LASK made score 2:3. On 58th minute Slavia got another red card and it let LASK to respond with 2 goals and win game 4:3. But Slavia goes to next round on aggregate scoe 5:7
Roma reached next round only after late goal of Abraham, which made aggregate score against Vitesse 2:1.
In general, no big upsets - I don't call AZ being eliminated by Bodo/Glimt as big surprise, considering how Bodo are playing thisseason. And it was difficult to expect such big PSV win.
2611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: March 17, 2022, 10:34:15 PM
Very interesting day in Europa league.
First, about Barca game. It wasn't wqorth to expect that it will be easy to win away, but when we conceded first, I started to worry a bit. Any way,  Barca made comeback and went to next round
West Ham - Sevilla, it's great game and it's sad that one of these teams will be eliminated. And Yarmolenko goal in extra time lead West Ham to next round. It was very emotional moment
Late Betis goal against Eintracht sent game to extra time and Eintracht managed to win after very late goal in extra time - that was quite big mistake of Betis goalkeeper.
Ranger lost to Crvena Zvezda 2:1, but after solid win in 1st leg, it's not big deal.
Atalanta 1 - 0 Leverkusen

Atalanta won, it's unbelievable that they managed to move to another phase
Why it's unbelieavable?
2612  Other / Archival / Re: Request for Ukraine local board on: March 17, 2022, 10:38:38 AM
Usually I'm a bit sceptical about adding new local boards, but this time I fully support this request. Yes, you can say that Ukrainian local thread is inactive, but for most of them it was not a problem to post in Russian board. Now things had changed. And even if war will end soon, I doubt that Ukrainians and Russians will be able to talk together like nothing didn't happened.

Imagine if this local board is created just cause of the present altercation, who is going to stop Russians from posting in the newly created board, or Ukrainians from still posting in the Russian local board, so it really would not solve anything. Mind you that i am not against a Ukrainian local board, all i am saying is that there has to be a good reason backing up this request.
Language barrier will stop them. Very few Russians known Ukrainian language, so they won't be able to post in Ukrainian board. There is no rule which would stop Ukrainians posting in Russian board, but I believe that not many would continue to do it after getting their own board, unless they don't know Ukrainian language.
BTW I remember there was request for Ukrainian board very long time before war.
2613  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 16, 2022, 11:35:02 PM
Give it an hour and it will turn out to have been an Azov base, once Putinists realize that they can no longer deny the attack.
I already saw such explanation in few russian telegram channels. How surprising...

In 2-3 weeks, Ukrainians will proceed to the offensive, unless Putin brings another 300K army (Chinese or general draft) to Ukraine.
I really don't see China getting involved in this war. Why they would need it. It's more likely that Belarus army will help them. Recently people heard explosions in few Belarus cities. Either it was attack from Ukraine or provocation from Russia.
And Russia can't send too much forces to Ukraine and leve other regions uncovered. And BTW, Ukraine is already making counter attacks.
2614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 16, 2022, 10:00:30 PM
Damn, what Villarreal did is something amazing. Winning against Juventus away 3:0 is something what doesn't happens often. And they didn't even had many chances for almost whole game. In 2nd half Juve didn't managed to make anything dangerous. Definitely biggest surprise so far.
Another Chelsea win against Lille. Lille scored first, but in 2nd half they were so dull and Chelsea achieved well deserved win.
2615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2022 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: March 16, 2022, 11:15:09 AM
I'm definitely in. I tried to make free prediction pool for F1 just for fun, but it didn't gained interest. It would be nice to get at least 10 participants.

first one to the finish line usually wins it all, right?
Yeah, unless he get disqualified for something or have time penalty given by stewards.
2616  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could cracks be appearing on Putin's controlled state media on: March 16, 2022, 10:45:05 AM
Rumor has it - well, many rumors and some seem to be confirmed - that quite a few reporters and hosts and other "media personalities" are quitting major Russian TV channels.

Meanwhile Marina Ovsyannikova (the woman with the poster on live TV) was interrogated for 14 hours without a lawyer and fined 30k rubles (that's about 300 kilos of sugar in stable currency) but may still face criminal charges.
Yeah, in recent days there is lot of reports about people leaving their jobs in state owned media. But numbers isn't significant and none of them aren't big names in Russia.
About Ovsyannikova, I would be very surprised if she will end just 30k rubles fine.
BTW, there is conspiracy theory that whole this story is fake and it was scripted by Channel One:

2617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: March 16, 2022, 10:33:45 AM
regarding Ajax, yeah, they seemed as clear favorite in this duel, but end-up getting kicked-out, would this influence their meltdown in Ere divisie, and letting title to PSV, probably a real shock for them

Chelsea is already in, but Juventus is a great pick @2
Ajax loss was big disappointment for me, I wanted to see them going far this season. And yesterday they didn't played bad actually, they dominated game.
Yeah, very attractive odds for Juve today, though, Villarreal is tricky team.
Chelsea is almost in, but I still will bet on their win. 2:0 is not 100% secure result, I expect Chelsea to try finish everything tonight.
2618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 15, 2022, 10:06:01 PM
Wow, Benfica, just wow. It was difficult to see this coming. Ajax dominated game, Benfica had very few chances and one goal was enough for them. I'm disappointed about elimination of Ajax. This season they had such good them and I expected to see them going far.
MU 0-1 Atletico. It was Atletico at it's finest. We saw Atletico playing their typical football, what doesn't works for them that often in recent seasons in big games.
2619  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is still getting funding for the War. on: March 15, 2022, 12:31:47 AM
Not just oil. Europe seriously depends on Russian gas, probably more seriously than oil. Some countries like Bulgaria for example get way above 90% of their gas from Russia. Germany shutdown Nord Stream 2 project, but Nord Stream 1 is working at full power. EU is such big hypocrites, imposing all these sanctions against Russia and at the same time continue to buy gas from them. Gas, which is one of main sources of income for them. And, no, it's not indirect funding of war. It's nothing more than direct funding of war.

fun fact:  Real madrid are unbeaten during monday fixtures since 2010. Last time they lost a game on a monday was the day they got obliterated 5-0 at the Camp Nou  Lips sealed Nightmares
It would be interesting to know how many times in these 12 years Real played on Monday lol. I guess not that many.
And thanks for bringing good old memories from that unforgetable El Clasico Cheesy.

One of Lazio, City and Real must loose points today Smiley
And who would have thought that it will be City Cheesy.
