how do i enable this?
You only need to enable RPC API access in the miners themselves - there is nothing to configure in MultiMiner. For the AntMiner S1, you need to SSH into it, and then edit the cgminer config file: Add / edit the following line: option api_allow 'W:127.0.0.1,W:192.168.0.0/24' Change the range for your own internal network. After that the devices should show in MultiMiner within a couple of minutes. so if my antminer was 192.168.1.99 and the router was 192.168.1.1 - whould i use option api_allow 'W:127.0.0.1,W:192.168.0.0/24' or option api_allow 'W:127.0.0.1,W:192.168.1.1/24' ?

Would this work for controlling a few Antminer S1 devices, or only USB/PCI devices?
You can use it to control AntMiner S1s yes, but it's limited compared to devices that directly connect. Currently you can Restart and Switch Pools for Network Devices (AntMiner S1, Avalon, MinePeon, etc). This will be expanded on in the future. how do i enable this?

No pictures until the end of the week - but very soon I will have 20kW of power (in both 12v and 240v flavors) setup in a private area at the back of a small warehouse - about 5 different electricians coming to give quotes between today and tomorrow. With power in place, my current 1.3TH will be moved to the location, followed by the best TH/$ that 15BTC can afford. From there, its a simple issue of ramping up to capacity and offering a canadian hosting service for other miners. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Checked out the location yesterday - and it looks ideal.
There is about 20kW of power available, and 600V three-phase access if a transformer upgrade ever becomes needed. The location is slightly different from expected (in a good way), and is actually on a second-level grated floor over the lower storage area. A few filing cabinets and boxes of stuff will be moved aside, and roughly 6'x8' should be available off-the-bat, and more can be cleared as/if needed. The metal grated floor should allow a nice cool airflow from below, and the area is currently secured by a locked door at the bottom of the stairs to it (its a larger second level with other things stored up here) and I am considering the installation of a second fence/gate if the need for additional security and locks should arise.
Today I am contacting electricians - the existing fuse panel is located about 40ft away on a different (connected) wall, so running power across will be a breeze - I just need to get a good quote (I am hoping in the $350-500 range). I have not yet decided whether to run ~20 power cables across this distance to thier respective outlets, or simply run a FAT 120V cable or two and install a secondary circuit panel that breaks out to the individual outlets. This would give me a little more control over the circuits and limit the number of wire runs along the ~40ft distance so they are rather a few 3-5ft runs from the panel to the outlet. I imagine this may cost more since a panel may add an extra $150 (minus the the dozen+ 40ft wire runs i would avoid)
The goal is still to have my current equipment in-place by the end of the week, and then start looking for any interest from current miners to have their equipment hosted in the same space while I deal with other things such as setting up a local terminal with VPN, installing some security cameras, installing extra sheves or tables, etc.
edit: electrical is a lot more money than expected - Ive had estimates of everything from $1200 to $2700! Looking for the bets price before proceeding, as I initially had planned/hoped to stay under $750

Its not a BAD idea, it just isnt a very good one.
There is no need for a PCI-shaped miner - 95% of end-users will have it sitting on a table surface connected by USB. It would make more sense to adapt it to just be a standalone miner instead, and transfer the costs of making it pci-compatible into the costs of building a small casing for it to sit within.

My one sits in the middle 40's as the 2 temps. It's the middle of summer here - it sits in my underground garage but without any ambient cooling other than where it is. So ... yeah 60 does sound high to me. Mine is also one of the early 1st batch ones, and I run it at default 180GH/s I've no idea what has changed in the hardware since that.
It's still cold as a bitch where I live, I have my miners in my glassblowing room which has constant airflow so i haven't seen an temps go above 50, so i'd say space them apart a bit, maybe add a fan, and like kano said, move it to a lower location. I found the earlier units (up until the 2.2/2.4BTC pricing rounds) usually ran in the 48-54 degree range when i clocked at 387 or 400. The newer revision tends to be happier sitting in the 43-47 degree range, perhaps due to the slightly bigger fan.

er imho you should sell the unit for less $$$ and include the option of getting it w/o the power supply (if you are compatible with standard supplies) for shipping it also would help costs...knc did not ship power supplies w/units they said because it was an issue in some countries...ie they opened up the unit and looked ? not sure why ...anyway it is on the KNC FAQ someplace
anyway could get your unit down in price and make it more competive imho a lot of us have no problems getting even a high end unit like a corsair 1200i with enough notice of what is needed
anyway make it an option it will make your units more attractive in price and less hassle for you imho

Thanks for your suggestions. At the minute we have all four units designed to fit into neat looking cases, if we went down a route of an optional power supply would people be happy with the power leads trailing out of the back (Similar to the KNC)? We have about 10 days until we need to commit to our final case designs Answer my email and I can help you with all these issues. Dont include a power supply - there are a ton of reasons. 1) it adds a lot of shipping weight - perhaps an extra $10-30 2) you probably will not get them any cheaper then the end-consumer 3) some buyers have power supplies, AND/OR will use server power supplies that are much cheaper I would do what KNC did and include tails. Perhaps even include a small distribution bar for the tails (ie: a few nice big ring/screw terminals for bare power leads, and a bunch of PCI sockets that would connect to the unit's PCI tails) so that anyone running a raw 12V PSU that doesnt include any sort of connectors can run some fat 12V cable to the unit without needing to do all sorts of splicing to make it compatible with a PCI connector

Hello, I am getting only 140 ~ 150 GH/s for the standard setting:
option 'freq_value' '4d81' #350M option 'chip_freq' '350' option 'timeout' '40'
I tried a few other setting mentioned here but does not help. How do I trouble shoot this and get the hash rate up? I updated the firmware, should I also update the cgminer ? I yes, how do I do this. I can't find instructions.
Are you getting 140-150GH from the pool or the miner status? Miner status shows 140-150 GH I am using slush pool and it shows 78951.038 Mhash/s* - which seems even lower try pointing your device to BTCGuild or Ghash.info. and let it hash for a day or so, then check your hashing stats. Slush is not always accurate. Also, check your S1, see if any of the Asic chips has a "X" where the "O's" should be. if so, you have a defective chip. Ive had issues using slush's pool and asics before - i imagine thats corrected by now but it might not be. I find eligius does a terrific job - 5 antminers average 990GH (all clocked in the 375-400 range)

Express UPS shipping. Warranty. LABOR. So you expect them to sell them at cost? Interesting.
This isn't the UAW we're talking about here. amazing, just because they are Chinese means they shouldn't make money? lol. This is a small shop, not foxconn. Either way, i don't understand why people complain. Its obvious they are selling them with no problem at this price point. It's understandable some people's expectation of return will differ, but saying these wont ever ROI is kind of ridiculous, no? I have no problem with them making money, in fact I expect them too. All I'm saying is that the labour overhead is probably marginal comparative to overall costs. I did not mean to disclude labour from my numbers, but I was partially writing some of it into the different fab steps (ie: the pcb fab estimate includes the labor/time of production). Bitmain simply assembles and tests the miners prior to shipping (2hours per unit would be generous i think)

I think Bitmain maybe getting close to their cost of production.
Increased difficulty combined with a falling BTC price can lead to a situation where it no longer makes financial sense for a hardware manufacturer to produce another batch of hardware.
If the price of BTC falls further or remains close to where it is now, I expect less mining hardware to be produced in the near future.
1.45BTC is still about $1000 - consdering that bitmain chips probably only cost $2-4 a peice ($120-240 total) + 2x$10 heatsinks + $30 control module + PCB and parts (<$120) + shipping (<$100) = something between $300 and $600 for each unit to produce. I agree though - hopefully a return to a >$700 BTC will allow a price drop

Haven't checked their site in the last couple of hours or so, but it looks like they've finally sold out of the 2/28 shipment batch.
^yeah, its weird because I just dont see a unit making more than 1.3BTC between march 2nd and its obsolete date sometime in the late fall, unless bitcoin difficulty jumps all stay around 15-20% during that time

I've posted this in a few threads in hopes that someone will see it and can help. I just got hooked my S1 up and trying to get into ninja pool. I followed your getting started on the pool site. STRATUM: stratum+tcp://dont include that24.159.196.108 PORT: 3333 Username: Weblogin.Worker Password: Worker Password I signed up for an account, added a worker, added payment address. Then went to the ip and added the above info into the antminer hit apply and save. It doesn't show any activity when I click on miner status page. Do I have to add 3 different pools in the configuration section? What am I missing? I have a steady green light under the network cable and a steady red next to that with a blinking green on left. Is this correct? Any help would be great edit: opened cgminer added command per the directions here http://24.159.196.108/index.php?page=gettingstarted. performed reboot. still nothing. Edit 2: I screwed up ip so I had to reset. I hope that didn't change anything other than the way it came. eg. firmware. When it first turns on and it is set to default miner config. the green led on the outside of the box is on. as soon as I set ninja pool it shuts off. and makes a clicking noise trying to start fan but it never starts. it says Stratum in recommended. Do I have to set that anywhere? I only modified the miner config page. what am I missing? ^Fixed ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Here is my brief email conversation: Hello. Sorry but we accept Bitcoins only. Thank You King-ASIC On 2014-02-16 17:15, Klondike wrote: Please allow paypal visa or mastercard as displayed on your site Date: Sun, 16 Feb 2014 12:14:09 +0200 From: info@kingasic.comHello. Currently we make server upgrades. In this time you can send payment manually. They clearly offer a range of legitimate payment options on the home page, but only accept bitcoin. If that is not a scam - then I dont know what is. After the most recent reply i got from them above, I imediately asked that they explain or remove the paypal and visa logos, and have not heard back yet.

Actually my lower level outlets have a 50 amp fuse on it.
Are your outlets are running off 4 AWG, or is this just dangerous wiring? you can run 15A on 14AWG or 20A on 12AWG. I imagine you would need 8AWG cable to run >40A, however I dont know why any electrician would do this. Why not run 3x20A breakers to a handful of outlets?

People never heard of trusted escrow only, or only on hand units. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Theres a list like "John K", which I figure most would already know. I am willing to offer escrow as a semi-senior member here. Obviously the internet is not a good place for blind faith, doubly-so when you trust people with less than 50 posts or under a month of 'existance'
