2641  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FBI Warned That COVID-19 Scammers Are Targeting Crypto Holders on: April 17, 2020, 02:06:44 AM
Scammers should probably search for easier targets. Crypto users have been crawling through the mud with the lowest of the low for quite some time now.
Scammers only can attack and steal money from naive and lazy crypto users but it is hilarious to see scammers always make their traps operate successfully and steal significant amount of money from crypto users, not only from newbies.

Honestly, before I saw warnings on such problems (weeks before the FBI warning) I don't care to use any app relates to COVID-19. Why do I have to use such apps to trace infected people. Without such potential dangerous apps, I can still protect myself if I practice social distancing and personal hygiene well.
2642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: April 16, 2020, 03:04:46 AM
Been in use via Dash text for over a year apparently, I have heard of an exchange system via sms in Kenya I think it was as it was popular in areas without regular electric supply.   Also they lack any regular banking system in that area hence crypto starts to be a service which is not available in any other way to people and has genuine utility.   When that starts being the case, value accumulates in the product I think.
Because you mentioned Kenya, in Africa continent I would like to ask a question and hope that someone can help.

If I would like to get the information on distributions of DASH over continents and nations, where I can go and get such figures (if they are available)?

I think it is a difficult question and I guess there is no site provides such information but I hope there are some sites I don't know. From my understandings, DASH has very big communities in Latin America continent but I don't know the general picture in Africa. Thanks.

I checked the week #15 report and saw this part of the report, that lists the stores accept BEAM (see the quote) and there are 3 merchants accept BEAM: BEAM Pay, Coinpayments; and Nowpayments. It is good to see more BEAM acceptance but it sucks to know the team have to cancel their schedule or not make new schedule for offline events due to the pandemic.

Stay safe, Beam community members.

2644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: April 14, 2020, 02:46:00 AM
Indeed I personally think that the gold price will rise at least to the end of this year. Strong up but also with a lot more volatility as always and the more stable the crisis gonna be the slower the price will go up. Real gold was always the best safe heaven in crisis times and this is why this time is no different and we see the gold price going to new heights.

What do you think if will we witness another 4 years of bull for gold like what we witnessed in the past when Gold setup its all time high? I am not overoptimistic about anything but with what we have to face with, the pandemic, the financial crisis, tha bankcruptcy to come, gold has a bright future growth next years. Not sure it bullish period will last 4 years, maybe a bit longer or shorter. Hold your gold tightly till the end of next year (2021).
Price of gold has currently stood above $1700, at $1723 (per ounce). That price is the highest price of gold since 2013. It seems our expected price trend has been on the good ride.
https://www.bullionvault.com/gold-price-chart.do

On the other side, we have good news on the pandemic, in European nations but if things will go on what we discuss, the really big issues will appear after the pandemic stops or halts with health system. When the burden of the pandemic on health system drops dramatically, governments will have more fully assessments on economic effects of the pandemic, and such kind of coming reports will help gold rising upwards much significantly.
2645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am going to share my stretgy to all how to track the coin for best investment. on: April 13, 2020, 11:53:05 AM
OP mentioned about investment so I assumed his investment is mid-term or long term. For short term, we call it tradings.

With investments, the most terrible mistake of investors is over-patient, then they have to hold to die. They buy at high and patiently hold to die. That is not good. It is interesting to see OP combine all threes: Fundamental, Technical, and Patience analyses but if I was OP I would replace the third one (Patience analysis) by Fear analysis. When the market in uncertainty phase, fear exists everywhere, that is when you have to change your plans as soon as possible, exit and wait for lower price to enter the market again. Even if you do long term investment, it will helpful to enrich your portfolio in the aspect of total amount of coins you own.

Be patient, be flexible, and be determinant.
2646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies can now be send without the use of internet. on: April 13, 2020, 02:37:09 AM
I don't know how the company does to secure transactions and confirmations from SMS messages but it sounds not much different from bank transactions. With bank transactions, we know there are risks on confirmations from SMS messages. Risks depend on users as always. If you get trapped and give other access to your codes, you will lose your fund.

It is the same for making transactions from wallets if we lose private keys / mnemonic seeds. Anyway, if people don't have other choices, it looks the best (for now) to use. In contrast, if I have connections to internet, and my wallets, I will never use such stuffs that depends on third-party companies. If exchanges can make scam exits, companies provide such service can do scam exit too. Be careful.

Those links are featured on Andreas M. Antonopoulos' github (https://github.com/aantonop). If you're still not convinced, buy the published version (https://aantonop.com/books/) and have a look for yourself. I have read all of them on my Kindle and they're identical.
Wow, it is amazing. Links are legit. Thank you Raytheon. You help me a lot with those replies especially with the link to The Antonopoulos' github and the book on Ethereum. I gave you 2 merits because you deserved it.
2648  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [RESOURCES] Free bitcoin/blockchain/finance eBook. on: April 12, 2020, 02:15:34 AM
Thank you for given links despite they are not exactly what I asked for help. However, it seems those links are not come from Andreas Annotopolous. Are contents of them as same as books were written by Annotopolous? I remembered I read an online version of his book that has same contents as hardcover version but I don't save that link so I lost it.
2649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [RESOURCES] Free bitcoin/blockchain/finance eBook. on: April 11, 2020, 10:16:21 AM
Can anyone share links to two books: Mastering Bitcoin; Mastering Ethereum, on github, please.

I have a hardcover of the first book but don't have github link. For the second book, I neither have hardcover nor github link. So please help if you know. It is more convenience to have github links because I can read on any devices when I have spare time for learning.

It is obvious when we look at the chart showing the last  20 years of gold price movement that for sure we are going up and all surrounding economics facts only support this theory.
Good thinking. As a natural price activities of Gold, it gradually climbs up or falls down. The term of gradually is used when we compare the votality of Gold and bitcoin or cryptocurrency. For traditional investors who only know and invest in gold, gold price is volatile and sometimes make them fear. It is good for market. Without fear and FOMO, we don't have any real financial market.

This is a very good sign for GOLD token and from some time I started to hodl them because are performing way better than other cryptocurrencies and give more stability to my portfolio.
Correct. Gold is a kind of most favorite assets when the world gets troubles with crises. It is a kind of physical stable asset.

I think the gold price will at least match the ATH from 2011 this year.
The ATH in 2011 can be hit in the third or fourth quarter of this year but if I have to bet, I will bet it occurs in fourth quarter. Troubles that the world have to solve after the pandemic will be contained is significantly bigger than the contagious pandemic (in aspect of burden on health system).

Taking into consideration very high volatility on all markets we can suspect this will be a very bumpy ride, so if one decides to invest in real gold or GOLD token, I would advise to stick to the strategy and don't panic sell when the price will drop 10 or even 25% in few days. It should bounce back, as it does many times before and the best strategy is to buy more on the deep and not to sell.

Just a reminder because I know from experience how hard it is to stick to the strategy when the price is falling very fast and our portfolio loses value.
There are always winners and losers on market.
2651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: April 10, 2020, 05:12:28 AM
I wasn't aware of the block reward altering, that will be a good influence but I was going to say alot of crypto could receive a benefit at present.  When BTC rises consistently for any period it creates a positive environment for price gains in a variety of alternative crypto blockchains.   Its a recovery, some will have sold out at higher prices and wish to buyer lower here at least upto the point of the period prior to the major virus news etc.
Overall crypto should benefit from paper money being both physically compromised in possible transmission and also now as a monetary standard undermined by alot of spending excessive supply and lower interest rates, etc.

Break above 50 day average is positive action and we can see a rising 200 day average also.   Just something to note as a positive momentum but good to see, next measure might be the yearly average which is more of a weekly close price but its near to achieving that also.
It is a very good signal for DASH when the halving day to come (halving but block rewards not actually halved as already explained by qwizzie). I see good momentum and good bullish trend for DASH. But to maximize your profits, you have to keep in mind that in bull market, there are weaks down and if you can take profits at highs and take advantages of such weak downs you can increase your balance well. Enjoy the ride, but don't forget to set up appropriate buy orders to maximize your folio's balance.
2652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: April 10, 2020, 05:09:04 AM
It seems like the drop in March which affected all the markets was just a simple bump for gold as the price has bounced back since then and continues to grow further.
Here is a six month graph showing how the gold price has been growing

What happened? Why this price jump? Any news?
We have been in the altcoin season, maybe will be a biggest one since 2018. And do you know we have halving to come? Let's count down till the block rewards will be halved. With the coming halvings of both Bitcoin and DASH plus the current active altcoin season, what do we wait for DASH price?

Without news, we know when momentum is big enough, price will skyrocket.  Smiley
2654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges. How do they work on: April 09, 2020, 01:34:16 AM
There are some help above, and I only contributed something I have, from my side. You have to consider some factors to choose an exchange you want to use but you better do some steps I wrote there, Newbies - Read before using exchanges or investing. Backing up, testing backups, and keep backups safely in vaults (something like that).

About the gate you can use to buy, trade on exchanges, not only with bitcoin but with cryptocurrency in general. It is the best for you if you have some sort of your capital in USDT, that is fastly transacted on network, and you can use USDT to buy bitcoin on many exchanges. You can also use USDT to buy altcoins, but only some of them have USDT pairs.
2655  Other / Meta / Re: [SUGGESTION] Anonymous Messages - Multi Author Messages on: April 08, 2020, 02:33:48 AM
1- No author (anonymous) threads/messages
If there are Red warning with PMs from newbies, I don't think we need to see anonymous PMs. Don't contact someone else if you want to stay anonymously.
Quote
2- Multi author threads/messages:
Some of complex messages is hard for working on it. İf we can give permission to someone for write on it, it will be easy. (like google spreadsheets options)
It will create many drama when accounts banned because of plagiarism. Perm-banned 'victims' will open ban appeals and say "Oh, it's not a plagiarism because we work in a group, with a multi-author threads/ messages".

And moderators have to spend time to investigate who initially created documents, who edited lastly and who stole contents before spreading out. It is not a good idea. We have limited staff resources on the forum and they have to be free of unnecessary stuffs. As you pointed out, there are other platforms to do it, just stick with those platforms.
2656  Other / Meta / Re: Posting downloadable PDF/ eBook links on: April 07, 2020, 05:20:59 AM
It's fine.

I had same question as yours and I remembered some of staffs replied that it is fine, so I made my Collections for someone who would like to improve English skills. I think you can do the same. I am sorry that I can not remembered where I got an answer from a staff (maybe a global moderator).
2657  Other / Meta / Re: I just want to know why my post was deleted. on: April 07, 2020, 04:44:10 AM
That post was made in an campaign thread so do you think that the post has something to do with the campaign?

It is neither an application post nor something relates to payments or post-check from the campaign. At the ends, it is an off-topic post. Consequently, the manager of the campaign (who created that thread) or anyone else has rights to report the post to moderator as an off-topic. I don't know the reason of your deletion comes from manager or anyone else but sure it is because of off-topic.

If you want to discuss about the campaign, you should create another thread in Service discussion, I think.
2658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: April 06, 2020, 04:19:44 AM
That's right, but Dash is still dependent on the mood of the crypto market, but whether he can become the very digital currency that everyone has been waiting for is a big question.
It is undeniable fact but the whole market has passed through their last bearish test with the dump of bitcoin to below $4k. Now, bitcoin has official jumped into its new era and new bullish period, before the halving day. The whole crypto market will follow Bitcoin bullish trend, believe me.
Quote
After all, Dash is not the only project competing for this place, plus obscure state cryptocurrencies loom on the horizon, the functionality of which remains in question.
DASH is an old altcoin project, it is legit and will be attractive to newbies in crypto next months. Altcoins have rallied well but the altcoin year has not yet come with us. I expect that we will have it in 2021. On the other hand, DASH has good potential enough to be competitive among thousands of altcoins on the market.
2659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: April 06, 2020, 02:51:32 AM
March Mimblewimble progress update:

* Merkle Mountain Range (MMR) logic implemented and tested
* Block validation logic written
* Started the long process of integrating with the existing ltc codebase.

Details here:

The Mimblewible progress looks cool and it is a very promising signal for a potential future growth of Litecoin, that we have not yet seen since its halving last year. I am waiting for more progress from the MMR next weeks.

I learned my own lesson when storing money on exchanges and got loses, at Crypto Bridge. Please see their scam exit. I read and heard a lot about risks of storing money on exchanges but I ignored all of them, I think such bad things will not come to me but you see they came to me in reality.

After what happened with Crypto Bridge, I learned to use Electrum wallet, that is light and easy to use. You can use Electrum on your computers or on phones with same mnemonic seeds. Remember to change the default denomination in mBTC to BTC if you are not familiar with mBTC.

I have my short guide on Electrum wallet. Electrum wallet - Update safely and avoid phishing wallets?
