2641  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: List of abbreviations commonly used in cryptocurrency trading. on: January 18, 2021, 11:59:07 PM
DILDO : Long green or red candles
I'm familiar with most of those except this. Is this really existing?  Tongue
Lol, I never know this abbreviation, is that the real means?  It seems irrelevant meaning.  Try to research in Google it has a bad meaning. Cheesy

There's a lot of common abbreviations and also there are not uncommon.

In addition,
JOMO - Joy Of Missing Out
and there are more, you can improve OP by adding more and look at the article I posted below.

2642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help regarding LOST Bitcoin....😳 on: January 18, 2021, 11:40:33 PM
No, I am here. Just a busy mom lol. I have not tried recovering deleted files. That is something I will be trying to do! I consider myself pretty computer savvy, BUT, I have a lot to learn about more advanced stuff.... such as recovering deleted files. My husband suggested taking my old computers to someone with more experience, but, that makes me incredibly nervous, for obvious reasons ha!
May I know what Bitcoin wallet that you have been used?
In your old computer, the file should be there and once you have your private key you can recover your Bitcoin.  I suggest if you are taking your old computer with someone else make sure that you know this person because that might a pretty big amount, once it will recover, it might not tell you.

If you have access to your AOL account, you might remember what wallet you have used.  It should have a message in your inbox as a confirmation from the wallet that you have stored Bitcoin.

Edited:  Hey sis, just a quick reminder, your post above of mine is against forum rules.

2643  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: beginners. Understanding bitcoin private key on: January 18, 2021, 11:25:38 PM
What about public key? Is it supposed to be shared?
Hey, welcome to the forum.
About your question, that is your Bitcoin address and yes, it supposed to be shared and that is different from a private key, which is means private not to be shared with someone and you should be the one who controls it, exposure may lead to getting scammed.

Note: If you decided to look for the private key, The common format WIF Private key should start with 5, L or K and is 51 or 52 characters long.
But there are other formats that you might need to catch sight of, but those aren't commonly used.
If I'm not mistaken, the private key that starts with the number 5 is 51 characters long and the and capital letters L and K were 52 characters long.

It really sad to the OP and sorry for your loss, because unfortunately, your Bitcoin can't be recovered at all.  It's stuck on the address where you stored it on watch-only wallet address.
2644  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Binance really that bad? on: January 18, 2021, 04:53:19 PM
I tried to downvote at least 3 posts on the comment section and it seems working, the blog on the site is easy to abuse if there's someone who hates or a competitor of Binance can write limited negative reviews with the same owner.  This might very common in every business that there are a basher and haters everywhere and trying to ruin the reputation built by Binance.  If this will commonly happen, think about they had thousands of users and I think all of them will appear here about their complaints.

I tend to agree with the comments above, they are probably TOS violators that always afraid to disclose their identity through having KYC verification.  They are strict for a good reason, protecting thousands of users is worth it, rather than the hundreds of haters that unlikely scammers or hackers trying to take advantage of the exchange.

Dont believe that unverified reviews, it should be from a legit site or a forum like Bitcointalk which we know the reviews come to from real users.
2645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone got 2009 satoshi's wallets it there a chance he is in danger? on: January 18, 2021, 04:10:11 PM
Do you mean this untouched genesis block’s address?  Which currently has 68.36937761 Bitcoin, if there's someone who will touch or hack this wallet, it might be the name Satoshi Nakamoto will at risk, and this will becomes viral in all social media since this address was disclosed to the community that already known belongs to Satoshi.  Not directly with him personally but the name that we know the Satoshi Nakamoto will in danger.

Quote
I see lot of people on this time claims that there are Satoshi.
Precisely, but if there is, the number one that I suspected is Hal Finny.  In 2009, it was announced on Twitter that he is running Bitcoin.  And wrote a message here in Bitcointalk in 2013 about the Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney).

By my part i hope satoshi still have my curriculum vitea Smiley (private joke hhh).
As an inspiration to us that he was made a great project that most of us got benefited from it.  We must be thankful for what he invested though he/they remained mysterious until now.  Let's just respect his decision to be anonymous.
2646  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2 box of pizza and a person who throw his hard drive on: January 17, 2021, 06:11:47 PM
So it would be completely lost and never found out which trash can there is a hard drive so even with a big reward for whoever finds it he is a very lucky person. lol Grin
But at least he just tried to dig it, and who knows he will able to find out by his luck.  But the article said that the City council didn't allow that man to dig and excavate on the dumpsite.  The percentage of chances that he will found the lost hard drive is very slim and impossible, and that was in 2013 and now we are in the year 2021.  I couldn't imagine if that hard drive will still function or it was already divided into tiny pieces.

There's no chance to find that valuable thing because he was a careless person at that time and now for sure he was full of regret.  Sometimes we need to take care of our valuable assets or keep those old things in your storage room that you think it is helpful for you in the future.

He does seem to have a thing for BCH … : https://twitter.com/howelzy?lang=es
Is he disappointed with Bitcoin? it seems he is promoting BCH at this time. Cheesy

2649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If bitcoin surpasses the $60K level then it will hit higher than $100K on: January 15, 2021, 05:41:57 PM
This might possible that this bull run will lead to the price of $100K at the end of this year and also possibly will not, or it will drop down below $30K but I don't think it will have a further drop below $20K.  For now, we have experienced a short correction, the price has been dropped but I still a healthier market, it will surely resist and ready to rise again.  Though all of these are all my assumptions, I can't be assured it will accurately happen.

Regarding altcoins, you're pretty safe if you will invest in the top 10 altcoins in CMC.  Let's always give a big share to Bitcoin and Ethereum in investment and avoid newly listed projects.

This is what always in my mind, be friendly to every newbie who will come and join this forum.  (those who will ask help)
If we're an old member of the forum, we shouldn't show them in an arrogant manner, help them instead.  For example, just like @yogg helping newbie with his USDT was accidentally sent into the other exchange., I saw this thread today and I'm impressed by this user.

So don't be fear, we have free speech here as long as relevant to the forum and following rules.  There are a lot of friendly users here and most especially those high rank and reputed forum members.

Just explore reading in every section you want and ready to learn about cryptos and then, join the discussion and engage informative topics.
2651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forbes list of investors whose fortunes increased due to rise in Bitcoin price on: January 15, 2021, 04:34:07 PM
Great!  They're also big people who can afford to invest in that big amount, can we consider them also as whales?  Cheesy

Not only them for sure, but the statistics given by Forbes is also the publicly available data from a known crypto wallet, how about those people have concerned their anonymity and invested in Bitcoin silently with a huge amount, these billions of dollars invested if they will going to sell their holding asset it will surely shake the Bitcoin price.

Imagine, the CEO of Ethereum also invested in Bitcoin.  Probably most of them are holders too, it seems all of them are crypto enthusiasts.
2652  Economy / Speculation / Re: You saw the BTC price WOULD YOU BUY!?............ on: January 14, 2021, 03:55:01 PM
It isn't the best time to buy because the price is too high and you might have losses if the price drops down. You better wait for the dip so you'll surely gain a good profit when the price rises again. Just apply the basic rule which is to buy low and sell high. It's the best time to hold for now.
Good suggestion but here is my question.

How do you know when the price will go down or up?  Because ain't see any time frame of that and you can't determine when is the perfect time to buy or purchase Bitcoin.  What if Bitcoin didn't how down as you said for the best time to invest, instead, it will grow up and times two in the current price, it's hard to determine and you can't jump in when the price is high.

I may suggest investing in what you can afford, and invest any time you want.  It's always a perfect time to buy if you have enough capital and wait until you will have a profit.  Bitcoin is unpredictable, determine a high and low point of buying/selling will remain predictions to us.

Interesting!

I did research the title thread on Trading Discussion as you can see on the link, but I didn't find it.

It is currently non malicious.
If not, why it requires per user to log in if you will visit the thread.

It seems the suspicious and malicious link to me.
2654  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are the ways I can get scammed on a P2P platform such as localbitcoins? on: January 14, 2021, 02:57:18 PM
The biggest scare about p2p trading is receiving funds that have been stolen, laundered or used for fraud and are being tracked by authorities into your bank account. Many banks would consequently freeze the funds once they get notified by authorities.
I tend to agree and this is possible to happen, that's why it might be good if you will use a mixing service before you will transfer your Bitcoin into your main or cold storage wallet and then transfer it into a custodial wallet if you want to convert it into fiat.  But this isn't related to getting scammed in the P2P exchange.

It's explained very well above, the very common to get scammed on P2P platforms is the reversible payment.  It's recommendable if you will buy Bitcoin should wait for at least 3 confirmation before sending your money.  If you will have a transaction outside of reputable P2P platforms, you will prone to get scammed.

AFAIK, the Binance P2P platform is the best because they offered escrow service.
2655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: He said Bitcoin is a Scam: See What happened to Him on: January 12, 2021, 11:59:46 PM
He got scam himself after seeing the Bitcoin price move higher.
Yeah, it is really hard to convince people especially when they are close-minded individuals. And that even they are listening to you but then, we can't assure that they got the point what we say. They only appreciate this thing if they saw with their eyes that you are making good in this and that they saw that you are also improving yourself, otherwise, it is just a waste of time.
Exactly and tend to agree with that part I bolded above, people don't believe unless they saw how successful you are.  For me, I won't waste my time if they don't believe me on the first attempt of explanation, that's enough.  I won't waste my time, at least they are already aware of what Bitcoin is and how successful you are on this upon your investment.  Believed me, someday they will reach you back and will ask again when they heard Bitcoin becomes viral again due to the price increase.

I don't understand why these people enter into Crypto market when they saw the price was in heavy growth.  Where they are during the bearish trend and should the time to accumulate more in Bitcoin.
2656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wait for the dump on: January 12, 2021, 11:47:27 PM
Since Bitcoin have dumped in terms of its price coming from $40,000 down to $34,000+ the last time I check it is a good thing to purchase or invest now into Bitcoin for once it regain from its dump it will sure to give you profit. Take this opportunity while it is still on its low price rather than getting into panic because of the dump.
I tend to agree, it is easy to say, just sell high price and buy low but the fact is you don't know when is the exact time frame of executing the buy and sell.
For now, there's nothing we can do is to wait when it will pump if you have already invested in Bitcoin, but if you're planning to invest, this is the right time for that while market having a small correction.

But it doesn't mean we aren't in a healthy market, just a whale trying to manipulate the market by selling their big share and wait when they will re-invest again, IMO.

Remember that panic sellers will always a loser.
2657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you’re extremely nervous about this drop, then you’re overexposed on: January 12, 2021, 11:36:25 PM
I couldn't deny having this feeling before but gradually, I have able to change it and realize that it only causes more losses if we let this emotion controls us.
Probably this is the feeling of the new investors who didn't yet understand how investing in crypto works.  As a crypto investor, we should know from the start that there's a risk upon your investment.  The volatile market makes your Bitcoin amount value fluctuate but actually, your Bitcoin will remain the same, so nothing to worried about.  If you invested 1 Bitcoin it will remain 1 Bitcoin, if the value towards dollars has been decreased, you should wait further to see your profit.  Don't sell when the price is low, that is insane.

Getting nervous is normal, but don't panic and hold your Bitcoin until such then you will successfully get your profit.
2658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you have, which coin you do not have? on: January 12, 2021, 11:04:56 PM
Greyscale is back, and they reopen bitcoin trust, bitcoin cash trust, ethereum classic trust, horizen trust,Litecoin trust.
Hold any of them?
For Ethereum Classic, Bitcoin Cash, and Horizen, I must say no.  I never hold them because those altcoins are not worth it to hold for me.

Focus on Bitcoin and if you can, put all your investment there for the safest investment among altcoins.  Ethereum (not the Ehereum classic) is might good to hold since it was upgraded to volume two I'm sure it's worth holding because of the unique smart contrast have which is very useful.

The comments above were right, practice first how to store your Bitcoin for a safe wallet and place and Grayscale isn't a perfect place purchasing or holding your Bitcoin.
2659  Economy / Services / Re: Someone to create trustable topic. on: January 12, 2021, 10:49:03 PM
Hi!  Cheesy
I need someone with trustable account to create feedback collecting topic for my smart-contracts audit project.
Is it possible?)
Just let me know price in private messages  Grin
That's not how will work trust feedback here, if someone in DT members abuses the feedback system might be excluded from other DT members and remove from the DT member.

Here is the important quote from LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system.
Once you fully understand the system, it's important to start using it:
  • Did you do a trade in which you risked funds? Leave feedback!
  • Did you see users who left accurate Trust feedback on many accounts? Add them to your Trust list!
Anyone can leave feedback, and anyone can customize their Trust list!

I hope you will understand how the system works because we don't want fraud activity here.  As much as possible we need transparency.
2660  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitexoption legit or scam on: January 12, 2021, 10:25:54 PM
arrow_forward - https://bitexoption.com
arrow_forward - you prize is 20.000$ in BTC at the current exchange rate.
A 9 days old domain which is obviously a scam, if you will respond to them it will surely ask for money for a deposit before you will claim your prize.  That's an old trick of scam, I even encountered this but in a different style.  That was on exchange someone asks me to withdraw his Bitcoin but before I can withdraw need to deposit the amount as a site required.

This site was registered on, 2021-01-04.
https://who.is/whois/bitexoption.com

Also , please be aware of greetbit.com and coinsluxe.com , the same scam
Coincidence or the owner of these sites are the same, they had the same date registration which is 2020-12-18.
It's probably bought or purchase account as what said above, stay away from them
